Great place, a ton of neat auction items and decorations. Staff is so professional and helpful.
First class auction house. During 2019 made numerous purchases at Austin Auction Gallery online through Live Auctioneers. All of the items were top quality. This auction house is very selective with an eye to authenticity and quality. They provide accurate and detailed descriptions on their pieces. In addition the auction house team is professional, easy to work with and efficient. Purchasing for our home my husband would travel to Texas to pick up the items directly. He loves visiting the gallery and always enjoys seeing the team there.
I buy here usually every month. I have always been happy with the quality and customer service! Thanks!
Huge auction mailing list so all of my consigned items get great online exposure. Ross is easy to work with.
Austin Auction helped me beautifully with my dads items after he passed.
A FIVE STAR experience at Austin Auction Gallery. Outstanding, established, local business with a worldwide audience and appeal. The knowledgeable staff handled my consignments professionally and with care. An auction house to trust whether selling or buying.
Really grown over the years! Nice!
We have attended auctions at this auction house since the 80s . I have many, many treasures that were purchased there and I have never found one to be misrepresented. I also have had very good results when selling items. All in all I have great respect for these folks who I find to be truly professional and I highly recommend them.
Fantastic variety and good prices. They have guys that will help you load your purchases into your trailer. This was my first visit and I will definitely be back.
I received advertisement for an upcoming auction, I absolutely had to have one of the items, on the day of the auction I drove to the auction house and noticed it was online only, I quickly drove home and registered online before the start of the auction. I made a call to the office to be sure I had registered correctly and I was ready to bid. The women in the office said I can also bid by phone (which lower buyer fees) but I would have to complete and fax a form (who uses fax anymore?), we decided to go ahead and pay the extra 5% in fees since we were online and ready to bid. At no point did the women mention to me that the phone bid was a sure method of getting your item after winning. I would expect if you win then you win your item, but that is not so. My item was coming up, I was so excited as Ive been waiting weeks for this to come up. I bid and continued to bid until I won the item (I would have continued to bid until I won no matter the cost). After winning and so excited (this was to be a very special gift to my sister) I called the auction house and said I just won an item and needed to pay, she told me Id receive an invoice later in the day. While waiting for the invoice I received a notice from the live auctioneers that I actually didnt win the item as they took the phone bidder over mine, keep in mind my computer noted that I won the item as did liveauctioneer.com. I called the office to find out what the email was about and was told too bad, there was a phone bidder at the same time you were bidding there was also a local buyer on the phone because they have video of the phone bidder, they gave the win to the person, not the actual person who won. As I explained to the woman in the office I have all the notification that I won, why is there no video on the internet bidders, this gives no guarantee for online bidders that they would win. She offered absolutely no apology, just stated that we are human, she was absolutely so cold! At the end of the day I received the invoice which I paid for, which further proves I was the winner of the item. This is not the first time something like this has happened. Previously we requested a phone call to bid on an item since we couldnt be there. We were told, well call you right before the item comes up. I waited for the call and it never came, we drove to the auction house to find out what happened, I was told they had another phone bidder who won the item. Why were we never called? In my opinion, the staff goes with the buyers who frequents and spends more.I am truly so disappointed, I loved auctioning but refuse to give them more business. I hope by reading this review, you use my bad experience before choosing this auction house, next time could be you.Note: I am not a reseller, all items we buy are for our personal use.
Good auction houseHighly recommend
Bid and won an item online though liveauctioneer and picked it up a few days later. Didnt encounter any difficulties and they did help load.It helps to read and understand the terms and conditions of the auction site and auctioneer, as I am to used to using eBay heavily. I will keep an eye out for more auctions in the future.
We love this place. Its run by a wonderful group of people. They get in interesting things and we have scored some amazing deals!
I love Austin Auction Gallery, top notch service they go above and beyound in making sure you have a great experience with buying and assisting in you anyway they can.. very down to earth..just like family! I definitely will be purchasing more items from them! Thank you guys so much..you were a life saver..love my beautiful bench!😍😍😀
Good service, but only on their schedule.
Fun auction house. Run fairly. Highly recommend
Far more difficult to register for this auction than others. Poor customer service for phone bidding. Was told I would be called back several lots before the lot I wanted to bid on. When they finally called me back the item was sold. The woman on the phone then began blaming me and making false claims. The whole situation was quite odd, especially considering how low the item sold for (less than 1/5th of the price of other bronzes from the same limited edition cast).I will stick to auction houses that actually want people to bid on their items.
We like to keep an eye on upcoming auctions. Great way to get furniture or other items that are quality products. Keep in mind the buyers fee when you are bidding and you will be happy!
Can find some great deals here, just make sure you know there is the auction few along with tax on top of that you bid. It can add up quickly.
Sent multiple emails over 3 weeks with zero response on an item I was wanting to auction. I would rather a generic response over nothing. We called and talked to them about the emails, and they said someone would look at it and respond in a couple days. That was a week ago. We called today, and the person over the phone did finally look at the email with pictures, but then just reiterated what info we had that was stated in the email. Overall, the guy on the phone is underqualified to check receipts at Wal-Mart, and who ever is checking emails has a master in ghosting. Go elsewhere if you value your things. Im sure they are good for estate sales for people who dont know what they have.
My wife and I have been going to auctions at Austin Auction Gallery for over 20 years, in fact I would venture to say that 70%+ of the Furniture and what my wife calls Knick Knacks, plus a lot of antique jewelry and purses etc... that she conveniently forgets we have gotten from the auction. If you have ever been looking for anything from a Wells Fargo Stagecoach to an antique Broach and every piece of Furniture or Painting or Rug or Mirror, you get what i mean. You will eventually find it here. That is the fun of an auction, if you dont find it the first time keep going, and these auctions are the best. One of my favorite Auction items I bought, after another guy almost wanted more than me, almost, was a set of old leather suitcases that had a 120 year old Encyclopedias in them. Going to the auction is like going on a treasure hunt and actually finding treasure. If you dont believe me, just go once!
Been going to this auction for 10 years and have furnished my house and part of 3 spas. Beautiful items that are unique and reasonably priced.
You get nice antique collections auctioned here
Deal with great pleasure. Excellent Auction House.
I needed an appraisal. The manufacturer of the item guessed that it was worth about $17,000. Austin Auction Gallery advertizes that they do appraisals. They declined to appraise my item because, and they really said this, Since we would be the ones selling the item, we dont want to do the appraisal. Who said anything about selling the item. I needed it appraised, not sold. They gave me the name of some woman who was supposedly eminently qualified to do the appraisal. Perhaps. But its too bad she was not eminently qualified to return phone messages. I dont get it. Heres two businesses and I have money to give them and theyll have none of it. After giving up on the woman, I e-mailed AAG back to see if they might suggest someone else. The e-mail bounced. My assumption is that its some sort of fly-by-night outfit that changes phone numbers and e-mail addresses constantly. I wasted a lot of time getting no where with these people. They remind me of Cap Metro bus drivers who think that their job is to drive big empty boxes around town. AAG is a collection of people who think their business is standing around admiring each others artsy personae. If you want to actually get business done, go elsewhere.
On August 21st 2015 I purchased my dream armoire from the Yardley cottage. Three months later I never received it after being charged the full amount of 2, 400 for it and being told it was getting delivered from Texas. I found the exact armoire I purchased at Austin auctions and was sold for 1,700. I called the auction house and they were very friendly . I am giving four stars because they have beautiful pieces up for auction at very reasonable prices. If the person that purchased the armoire in Texas by chance sees this I will offer you twice what you paid. I have been searching for a long time for this exact type of armoire. Or if someone from this auction house could please send me an email if you get a similar armoire in. I really would appreciate it!!
Do not rely on the online auction platform that they use as it is merely used to draw in bidding leads. If you want an item, youll need to be onsite or call in. Ownership made it clear to me that the online platform is 3rd in priority.
A place with eclectic things
