Katie has been so amazing to work with. We were a unique situation from the very start and Katie ALWAYS worked with us, was flexible, and made us feel so at ease with the entire process. We were planning a wedding from out of state and that alone was hard. Katie walked us through everything we needed. During our wedding planning I got pregnant and because of a high risk pregnancy we had to push our wedding date. Katie was so wonderful and agreed to hold our deposit and move the services to a future date. A few months after my babies were born, COVID bit and our wedding planning came to a complete halt. It is now Oct. 2021 and after reaching back out to Katie, she has offered to return our deposit in full !!! This is unheard of and we are so incredibly grateful to have had someone so understanding and kind to work with. I would recommend Katie and her team 100% and hope we get to work with her again.

I hate to leave this negative review (and will remove it if we receive any communication soon) because leading up to and the day of our wedding on June 5, 2021, we had a great experience and day!We were SO excited that Katie was still available to shoot our wedding even after we had to postpone it a year.About two weeks after our wedding, we received the first cut of our video and were asked to send in our final 2-3 song choices that could be added. We sent over our song choices the very next day.Four months later, we haven’t received our final video, the raw footage or any communication from Katie/Windy City Production (WCP).My husband and I have sent multiple emails and texts asking for an update and a status on things, and have received no response.I’m a communications/PR manager for a health care system and can completely understand and empathize with how busy things have been for the last year and a half. But WCP’s marketing boasts (and our contract states) a two-week turnaround. We’d be more understanding of not meeting that deadline but there has been no two-way communication or replies to our repeated requests.We’d love to receive the final video and our raw footage, and finally share it with our family and friends that traveled near and far to celebrate with us. Our wedding was extremely centered on our loved ones, including my husband’s late father, and we’d like to relive those special moments again with them soon.

They did great work and we found the quality of the end product to be consistent with everything we saw online. I cannot say enough kind things about both Katie and Sam. Our wedding (like many others) was affected by the pandemic - we made 4 date changes. Each and every single time that we had to change our date, they accommodated us with no questions asked. When it got to be time to have our final phone meeting, Katie really made sure to pay close attention to the details we wanted which I cant accurately express how much I appreciated that. It was just a huge weight off of my shoulders. Fast forward to the day of, they showed up early and ready to go(which again, I appreciate so much). They helped guide us and our bridal party to make sure that we got the best photos and video possible and let me tell you - when we did receive them (which was incredibly quick also), we were blown away. Both the pictures and our video are absolutely stunning and everything we could have hoped for. It captures the day perfectly and we will be able to relive that day forever. I cannot express how pleased I am to have picked the best photography company out there. Katie and Sam were just a pleasure to speak with at all times. You can see the excitement in their faces just talking about their passion. Our photographer Jaime was AMAZING, BRILLIANT, EXCELLENT, FUNNY, and just a GREAT person to be around. He fit so well into the family vibe and even speaks Spanish! (I am of Hispanic background) Jaime payed attention to every little detail. If I left the room for any reason he would come looking for me just to make sure he wasnt missing anything important. My husband and I are not the most photogenic people so we were worried about close ups. Let me tell you what. After looking at the pictures we received I am just blown away by how amazing we look. I mean in tears by just how perfect they all are. My wedding day was the best day of my life, excluding the birth of my daughter of course, and these pictures show exactly how great my husband and I felt that day. Again, so many positives things I can say about this company and their thrive for perfection.

Used Windy City for both engagement and wedding photos with Sam and Katie. They are so professional, yet make things so fun. They captured every beautiful moment. We will be using them for any future photos!

They do not respond to communications. I understand we are in the era of a virus but a text takes less than 10 seconds to text a client back when you havent answered emails or returned phone calls for over 10 days and the wedding is a month away. Sorry for the review but, I would not recommend them to anyone.

So i originally hired WCP as my wedding photography for my wedding next year. Put the deposit down and everything. My fiancé and I then decided that we were changing our whole wedding vision/theme and were wanting a more moody style of photography. I talked with Katie and let her know my situation and she was super understanding. She even offered to refund my deposit back even though in the contract it said that the deposit was non-refundable. Even though I ended up not going with Sam and Katie, Katie has been nothing short of professional and for all of the other brides looking at this right now, know that you’ll be in good hands with them! :)

This is going to be a long BUT WORTHY review because my husband and I couldn’t leave any detail about Windy City left out! We booked Windy City Productions to use as our wedding videographers after seeing their fabulous work at my cousins wedding. After having our first phone call about wedding details, timeline, ideas and much more, I knew we were in great hands because Sam was so helpful and took a lot of stress off of our shoulders. Fast forward to our wedding day.... we could not have been more blown away by Sam and Windy City Productions. From the beginning of the day to the very end they were a blast to work with. They made everything easy and fun and were able to handle our very big and obnoxious bridal party with ease. Our absolute favorite thing about the day was the little video (I call it a sneak peek) they put together for us during our wedding reception. We could not believe the talent behind this video!! It had clips from the whole day in it and they were able to put this together before the night even ended! The video had all of our guests in happy tears. And now, after receiving our final wedding video, we haven’t been able to turn it off! We’ve watched it 20 times and each time we love it more and more! We’ve had many, many people asking about Windy City Productions after seeing them at our wedding and so many compliments on them and their work. We will be recommending them to everyone and anyone!

Katie and Windy City Production was a wonderful company to work with. Due to financial circumstances we had to cancel our wedding that was already postponed due to COVID. Instead of making us pay cancellation fees, she refunded our deposit which the did not happen with every other vendor that we worked with and amazed us. It is amazing to see vendors that still value people and are very understanding and graceful.

Windy City took my engagement photos, which were so fun and perfect! We met Sam for our photos and he made it so smooth and anxiety free! We got the photos back so quickly and they were so beautiful! I just got married last weekend and Sam and Katie took photos and videos of our special day and it went PERFECT. I cannot wait to get our images back. We had so much fun and they know exactly how to break the ice and just have us all let loose and get those special moments. We will be using them for future family photos!

Sam and Katie are by far the best photographers weve ever worked with. Theyre so friendly and truly care about capturing your special day so you can look back on it for years to come. We used them as our wedding photographer in October 2018 and Ive recommended them to all of my friends, many who have used them since as well. They recently offered a free mini session to all of their past clients, and we were able to take our first family photos with our new addition. My husband and I ended up having to cancel our big wedding plans due to Covid and had a small intimate wedding with our immediately family instead. We’re actually approaching our first anniversary! A lot of vendors kept our deposit when we cancelled, which for some is understandable based on contracts and the hard time that Covid brought on everyone. Katie & Sam were not one of them! We were so disappointed that we did not get to have them photograph our wedding, but they were kind enough to return our deposit. We knew when we chose them to photograph our wedding we had made the right choice, but we couldn’t thank them enough for also helping us get through such a difficult time of cancelling our vendors. I highly recommend using them and would gladly recommend Windy City Productions for anyone looking!

I had an absolutely wonderful experience with Windy City Production. My fiancée and I had to reschedule our wedding due to COVID-19, and they weren’t available on our new wedding date. Sam and Katie were extremely understanding and flexible, providing a quick and full refund of our deposit and even sending over some referrals and helping us find someone else to capture our special day. I can’t recommend them enough. These are good people, and they’ll take care of you no matter the circumstance.

Took absolutely amazing pictures during our small ceremony that we held last year. Katie and Sam did our wedding photos and shot out wedding video and they came out so perfect! We were amazed at how well they came out and Sam and Katie met all of the things that we wanted. We just recently did our second free Christmas shoot with them and I talked to Katie about maybe(hopefully) doing my maternity photos as I keep comparing all other photographers to them and none come close! We are so happy we choose them for our big day and we wouldn’t change a thing! They are the best and you will be 100% satisfied with them!

Fully refunded deposit without hesitation! As a COVID bride, the restrictions in Illinois ultimately altered what we initially had planned for our special day. We ended up deciding to move our wedding out of Illinois to another less restrictive state in order to be able to celebrate with as many loved ones as possible. When notifying Katie at Windy City Production, she honored our full refund back to us without hesitation! Katie has been so easy to work with and it was such a relief that when we had to change plans, she was so understanding. I was initially referred to her from our friends wedding, and the video of their day was so perfect: had a special sparkle and emotion to it that really captured the essence of the day. Although I’m sad we won’t ultimately be able to have a video of our day, I will absolutely use them for something in the future and would recommend them to any bride especially under covid concerns.

I realized though...theyre busy and a thriving business, and that is a good thing! It all worked out, because our photographer and videographer were AMAZING. Jaime was our photographer, and we loved him so much. His personality lit up the room, and he was so easy to work with. He made the day (and even the time we spent with him over the phone before the big day) so seamless. He worked with our crazy schedule the day of, and the pictures turned out beautifully! We were so happy with him. Natalie was our videographer. First, never skimp on video. Youll be so glad you have that to look back on. Second, consider yourself lucky if Natalie is your videographer. She captured such perfect moments, and was so easy to work with as well. I still am getting compliments from our guests on both Jaime & Natalie. They all said how awesome they were. Overall, very happy with how it all turned out!

A-MAZ-ING! I met Katie & Sam this weekend when they photographed my family for Christmas photos. They were INCREDIBLE! Super friendly, very professional, and just all around GREAT people! I’m truly inspired by both of them and how they have managed to build their company from the ground up and still remain humble. If I could give more than five stars I would. A few years back I saw the video and pictures that Windy City Productions captured of a friends sisters wedding and fell in love with their work. When it came time to plan our own wedding I immediately wanted to sit down with them to see what more of their work looked like. As soon as we met with Katie I was so excited (and not just because she had her fur babies with her in the office that day, that was just a huge plus). Their work speaks for itself. We got married on May 3 of this year. Katie was our lead photographer and she had a second shooter with her as well as a videographer. The day was seamless. From the moment they arrived they were quick, professional, and so easy and fun to work with. I knew our pictures and video were going to be extradorinaiy just by the amount of work and heart they put into each shot that day. Im pretty sure my husband wanted to kill me because I kept talking about how excited I was to see their work when we were on our honeymoon. True to their word, we received our wedding video yesterday, only 10 days after the wedding, it is beyond beautiful. My entire family and friends are in awe of their work. Katie was our photographer the day of our wedding and she was absolutely wonderful.  She was incredibly enthusiastic and made everyone feel so comfortable throughout the entire day.  After dinner, she surprised us with a slideshow that she put together of photos that were taken earlier in the day and put it to a song that we wanted played during dinner.  It was the best surprise and we were so touched.  Our pictures turned out beautiful, it will be so hard to decide which photos to put into an album! We are still getting compliments from our family and friends on how wonderful Katie was and how amazing our photos turned out.   We hope to have a shoot with Katie in the future!

Sam and Katie are so kind, caring and patient. First of all Katie and Sam are genuinely good people who truly care about their clients, we instantly gained a friendship across the country just through talking to Katie and Sam throughout our day during and between all the amazing shots they captured. Both Sam and Katie display such a calming presence that made my husband and I so relaxed and comfortable during hours of photos and video footage being captured. Just a few short hours before hearing from Katie, I was devastated that we would not be able to have a film, as prior plans fell through and suddenly I was introduced to Katie through email just 3 short weeks before our wedding and was reminded that in fact everything does happen for a reason and that after all the worry, stress and months of back and forth decision making, a video of our big day was in fact in our future. Katie reassured me that they would be able to capture our big day and meet us in the beautiful country of Costa Rica in just a few short weeks. I knew just from her emails I couldn’t wait to work with her and Sam. Fast forward to our days as Mr. & Mrs. The minute we landed in Philadelphia from our amazing wedding in Costa Rica my phone dinged I had a new email, it was from Katie, our video was edited and published on YouTube. We used Windy City for our wedding in July and couldn’t be happier with how incredible Katie and Sam are. Our wedding was on a yacht, cruising around NYC, and we did our first look & bridal party pix on the marina, so having a creative and dynamic duo was a must-have for us.First of all, Sam and Katie did a great job on a tight schedule while getting all of the shots we wanted. Our bridal party was blown away by their fun personalities, professionalism and their little tricks and tactics for getting the best photos and footage out of us all!Not only did our photos take our breath away, but our wedding video is beyond words. My husband and I still tear up when we watch it because it’s seriously more beautiful than any romantic blockbuster we’ve ever seen. Oh. My. Goodness, where do I begin? Katie and Sam made my wedding day everything I could have imagined it to be. From our very first meeting, I knew they would do a phenomenal job. Their style is like nothing I have seen in other photographs/videos.Katies personality is infectious and genuine and Sam made us feel at home. They were able to answer all of our questions and were obviously passionate about their work, we went with them.Best. Decision. Hands Down.Katie and Sam were able to capture every single special moment throughout the day. The views and shots they were able to capture- my mind is still blown. They are ninjas! I never saw them but somehow they were able to get incredible shots! Also, Katie was able to remember every single detail of what we were looking for and was totally open to our ideas. I am OBSESSED with my pictures and video. Trust me, the day is a whirlwind, and you wont be able to remember everything or be everywhere you want to be, but Katie and Sam will capture every moment and make them last forever. Well, lets start out by saying that Katie is the sweetest ever. She really made me feel comfortable with working with her and her husband. They really are an amazing team without seeming super commercial. My wedding went by so fast and I was so worried that I would not have any good pictures because I felt like I did not see the photographer the entire night. I told my mom this and she laughed and said that he was following me around all night. I guess hes just that good he blended in! On top of the amazing service from Sal, I got my pictures after 2 weeks.. I have a friend who got married 2 months before me and still has not gotten any pictures yet. I am so happy with the results. The pictures are so classic and romantic. They seem natural and I am just so thrilled. My only issue is that Im having a hard time downloading them to my computer but Im pretty sure it is an error with my operating system and not WCPs fault. Thank you guys so much for my amazing photos and I am definitely going to be recommending you to everyone that I can.

I hired Windy City Productions for my May 28, 2016 wedding and I must say it was one of the best decisions I made during my wedding planning process. Katie and her team were not only professional, they went above and beyond to make sure they captured EVERYTHING...literally EVERYTHING.I contacted Katie about a year before my wedding and after my meeting with her, I decided to look no further. She was very approachable and made me feel comfortable, very responsive to all my emails, and answered every question I had. Her prices were very affordable as well so I decided to book her and her team for photography and video.On the day of the wedding, Katie and her team showed up on time, with a gift bag (which I thought was very thoughtful) and captured every moment. Throughout the day, she kept checking on myself and the groom to make sure we didnt need anything; our guests and wedding planner even commented on how impressed they were with her level of professionalism.When we got our pictures and video, I was blown away. Katie executed exactly what we had discussed, the style of photography I wanted was exactly what she delivered and again, she captured EVERYTHING. Our video was PERFECT, I feel like Im reliving the day all over again whenever I watch it. Everyone we have shared our pictures and video with have nothing to say but GREAT things. We have even gotten several inquiries on who did our photos and video, because of how great they turned out. I highly recommend Windy City Productions, I will book them for any major event I have in the future!

I was hesitant to work with Windy City Production as they do not have any African American Weddings/Photographs/Videos posted on their website. Being AA it was important to me that we were captured with the right cameras in the correct lighting on our wedding day. From our first initial meeting with Sam and Katie, Windy City Production were absolutely perfect on through to the day of our wedding. We had two associate photographers and they were really nice, sweet and patient with us. They arrived right on time to the hotel and took pictures without prompting. They made sure to capture the types of pictures we discussed in our pre-planning call. Sometimes photographers can be a nuisance...but Windy City was almost invisible but very thorough. My favorite part was looking back on our pictures and videos and not even realizing that they were able to capture so many special moments. In our edited video there is this video of me helping my daughter with her flower girl dress and it was such a special moment that I didnt realize at the time until I saw it and made me tear up. My pictures and video short received so many compliments. We are extremely grateful to Windy City for their excellent service. My only suggestion to Windy City would be to add brides of color to your website so we can see your versatility.

Sam completely blew us away! He just does his job so well. He MAKES moments happen by pulling you aside with not only your groom but also with all the other behind-the-scenes people like your mom, your sister, etc. He really gets you to come back to the moment and BE PRESENT with those around you amidst the chaos. Like everyone says, your wedding day is a blur and I cannot tell you how thankful I am for what he did. Those are the moments I remember. And, of course, his day-of edit was priceless. I felt like our entire reception was crying (even some of my husband’s ex-rugby teammates!!!). Our guests continued to talk about the video into the next day and a week later I am still getting texts asking when I will be able to share it. It was THAT good, I’m telling you...(and it was not because we do well in front of a camera - quite the opposite actually)! I would recommend Sam whole-heartedly and without reservation. Windy City did photography and video for my cousin’s wedding a few years ago. I was blown away at the quality of their work, so when I got engaged, they were one of the first vendors that I sat down with. I had a few phone conversations with Katie. She was extremely warm and friendly, and she took the time to answer every single one of my questions. Kathy, Katie, and the Windy City Production Team created an incredible teaser and cinematic video for our wedding! We were able to meet with them in person during the planning process, and they were very personable. (Plus, they had three ADORABLE Boxer dogs at their office!!!) Windy City Productions captured our wedding on 5/7/16. They were truly a pleasure to work with! We used them for photo and video, as well as our DJ, who happens to be Katies Husband :) I must say that having the DJ and Photo/Video crew know each other and work together really helped make the reception flow nicely. They were completely in sync and work together to make everything perfect. Katie is so creative and has such an eye for wedding photography. My husband and I arent models and are not use to posing for so many pictures but they really made it not feel awkward at all. Katie even brought over a day of wedding present, so thoughtful!Katie came armed with cameras, my pinterest wedding photo board printed out in hand, and even some cute chunky gold glitter to throw in pictures (which came out so cute!). We are very happy with our choice to go with Windy City and I would recommend them to any of my friends getting married. They are affordable, professional, and fun! I cant wait to get our album in the mail to display on the coffee table in our living room... its a surprisingly chic and beautiful album too with our names on the cover and initials embossed on the inside of the covers.

Sal is the best! Our wedding was a while ago now, but I still look at my pictures all the time and think about how easy he made our day. We loved all the images and his ability to work with such a large wedding party. He also had snacks in his bag in case we got hungry! Haha - hes the best. So glad we went with this company

What an amazing addition to our wedding day! Throughout the whole wedding planning Katie was extremely helpful, kind, and thoughtful. She ensured that we had all of the shots we wanted and many we didnt even know we wanted! She arrived early, to our already early morning wedding, and immediately jumped into our crazy group of people. She kept our wedding party on track and organized, which isnt too easy with a group of 27! Katie helped fend off some of my bridal nerves and ensured that our day ran smoothly. There are several pictures that she took, that I didnt even notice her taking. She blended into the day and caught several great candid photos, as well as some absolutely amazing shots of my husband and I at sunset. Windy City Productions did a wonderful job with our wedding video. We had a unique wedding/elopement in Chicago and we felt that Katie and Sam really took care of us! I was in Windy City Production Studio looking at the nice DJ equipment when I notice some very unique and beautiful photos on the walls, from around Chicago. And after looking at Katies wedding portfolio, I knew I had to have her photograph my wedding event. She has an amazing skill that doesnt just take beautiful photographs but captures the space, energy and emotion with her very artistic perspective. So when I got my photographs back, I was transformed in time both visually and emotionally, by feeling the memories she captured in artistic details. I will say Sal/Sam are the best. First off I have to say the Owner Sam, showed up to my event on his day off, to capture photos. We didnt ask him to come but we excited to find out we had two photographers taking our pictures. We were told Sam wanted to capture some special moments for us. Sal made not only my bride, but me feel so much at ease. Windy City productions is like family. The best any bride or groom could ask for. Photos also came in early and in perfect condition. Windy City Productions was both my videographer and photographer for my wedding in October and they did such an excellent job!Originally, I was not sure if I even wanted a videographer but man, I am so glad I ended up deciding to. My video is great quality and captured so many great moments, going perfectly to the soundtrack that I hand selected. Not to mention, I got it 2 weeks after the wedding, such great turn around time!Our photos are equally gorgeous and were delivered so incredibly timely digitally without any issues. I was easily able to share them with family who were so impressed on how quickly I received them.The day of the wedding was the best part, Katie and her associate Natalie were so easy-going and organized, it made the whole process go so smoothly. My husband and I arent big on the cheese factor, but they made us feel so comfortable and I really think that showed in our photos instead of our awkward selves. Katie made sure to go over the timeline with me ahead of time as well as making sure she knew exactly what I wanted to be captured and in what way on the big day. My timeline was kind of crunched, but I dont think our photos suffered in the slightest. I am not the most organized person so Im glad they had clear directions for us that made the process go super smooth.Overall, I cannot say enough about how happy I am with Windy City Productions and the whole photo/video experience they provided. Katie was amazing for our wedding day! A photographer myself, our pictures were particularly important to me and Katie was always willing to discuss the style I wanted down to the smallest details. The day of, she was part photographer part superhero as she nagivated the day making sure everyone in our families and wedding party were happy and taken care of, as well as taking beautiful pictures start to finish! Almost two years later, many newly engaged friends I have still ask about our photographer because they remember the lovely pictures and lovely photographer we had.

We hired Windy City Productions to film our ceremony. It was a great surprise that they also took the time to capture the beautiful venue, a few moments during our cocktail hour and even some footage of me taking pictures with my bridesmaids. I was initially very pleased with Katie and her teams work, but my experiences changed after the wedding was over. While she was quick to respond, attentive to my needs, and generous with her help before the event, she was hard to reach and manipulative afterwards. I felt that she did not treat me with the respect I deserved as a customer and did not give me adequate information about her policies before withholding photos that I was under the impression were already included in my package.I am unhappy with the level of professionalism displayed with this company, but overall cannot complain about the quality of the product.

If you are looking for an excellent quality wedding video then I would 100% recommend hiring Windy City Productions! About 2 or 3 weeks before the big day my fiance and I decided last min. we wanted to get a videographer and WCP was able to get us a quote and give us the information we needed in no time! Sam was excellent to work with throughout our wedding day and we were blown away when we saw our video. Our video was everything we wanted and more, and we got it in such a short amount of time. I would recommend adding the drone feature to your package its definitely worth it!

Katie and Sam shot our wedding this last July and we could not have been happier. It was 90 degrees outside and we had 3 hours straight of outdoor pictures and they were running from angle to angle to get the shot. My wife and I used Windy City Productions for our wedding and we were so so happy with our decision. Katie and Sam took the time to really try to understood the vision that we had for our wedding and Kathy and Sal did an amazing job with the videography and photography. We didnt even bother meeting with any other photographers after meeting with them because they were so impressive and their pricing is more than fair and they offer a ton of discounts if you bundled a lot of their services. I would definitely recommend bundling because 1) the discounts and 2) it made it a lot simpler for us having one vendor handling multiple services at the wedding. If I had one complaint, it would be that at times in the beginning it was a little bit difficult to get in contact with them, but this was during peak wedding season so I completely understand they were busy and we werent in any rush. And when our wedding got closer, the communication was very prompt. I would definitely recommend Windy City Production!
