Not sure how American Financing is scoring so high on their reviews. My wife and I submitted a loan application. It has been two weeks since the documents went to underwriting. In that time, we have received pre-approvals from two different lenders.In Denvers hot market, you would think American Financing would be more responsive in earning business and positioning their customers in this highly competitive market.

This place is a joke. I am day 58, was not only preliminarily approved, I was emailed with a closing date and time. That time came and went, no one showed up. Spent a significant amount of time trying to reach the broker, the processor, had to call the office, because the voice mail system on all their phones would play their message - then hang up on you. Then a supervisor called and i wasnt cleared to close. From there it was a mess, and at this time I missed an opportunity worth $1300.00 and their response was sorry, but.... Then to top it off, they changed the requirements and told me I now cant close. They wasted my time, energy, and points from my credit score. This company left a friend of mine in limbo for weeks with a purchase. My recommendation is not to use them.

Started off good. But being self employed. We run into a few bumps. They think they know it all. So they won’t take the time to talk to you about it. I went to a local loan office. Had everything done and ready to go. Try to transfer my appraisal to the new loan office. Then they wanted to start taking the time to talk with me. Trying to pay them for the appraisal was a joke. After a week finding got it paid. Hopefully they will transfer it next week.They care more about numbers then customer service.

I worked almost exclusively with Suzanne Dew. She was always very accessible, that is, she always either answered her phone (usually), or called me back promptly. She was always very willing to keep me apprised of any information and was always very happy to answer any questions of mine. And she saw the process through to its completion, and I got my loan!

My experience with American finance with the renewal of my home loan was a overall good experience. They have a very helpful team that will make sure you understand the entire process and are helpful with questions along the way. I am extremely disappointed in the loan that I received from American Financing. I was contacted regularly throughout the loan process which was great. But once the loan was completed American Financing sold my loan. I do not know who they sold it to, I have not received information on who to pay and when I log into my American Financing account it says that I have no loans on record. I have called and been told that I do not have an account, I have chatted on their chat line and told I do not have an account. I can understand selling the loan, but why does American Financing not have a record of my original loan and who it was sold to. I can get on Rocket Mortgage, the loan that was paid off and get details on my closed mortgage. This is a huge flaw in the American Financing system. I am facing a late charge on my new mortgage and I do not know how to find someone at American financing who can help me!!!!!

My experience started not too well not due to anything that Hanks team did, however, Hank and his team made up for the issues by completing the process and got me to closing within a two week period. They communicated well with me and kept me informed daily on the progress and ultimately to the closing of my loan. I would recommend American Financing to anyone.

We have used American Financing previously and were very happy. We decided to refinance again and were extremely disappointed in the service we received. First, their TV commercials talk about how easily and quickly (!) you can refinance however due to the pandemic they were taking MONTHS....a YEAR into the pandemic, they should have had their system figured out (the rest of the businesses who had to shift to work from home had to figure it out, and did)! Then, the individual who started our process did NOT pay attention to our requests and changed the amount we were getting back, changed the amount I requested it be calculated at (until after we got the appraisal) and overall, had no idea what he was doing. I understand that new people need a chance but it seemed as though he was not being double checked by a more experienced individual. Then, despite having an extremely clean refi with excellent credit we had to sit behind others who if they are self employed, it requires more documentation to close... Lastly, once we finally made it to closing, the notary arrived and the final numbers she brought with her were COMPLETELY DIFFERENT from all of the documents that had been previously emailed to me. Different fees, different take home, different escrow etc! After reaching a supervisor, she left and they had to completely redo my loan (based on my original request which had been CHANGED/modified for no apparent reason) and re-assess the fees and escrow. Once this was all taken care of, we were FINALLY able to close. Once upon a time, this was a good company. Apparently the pandemic threw them for a loop that they have not recovered from. They need to take their commercials off the air, catch up on all their active accounts, TRAIN their staff and then start again.
