Great experience with scenery and great tour guide (Caleb)! Horses were friendly and very smart (not really any work at all), they follow in line with one another. Caleb gave us some great history of the ranch and on horses themselves. I got to ride “Mags” (Magnolia), she’s a big beautiful black horse, little intimidating at first [and I’m 6’2”], but she’s a sweetheart and very gentle. Thanks for the ride guys!
Best day ever!!! Both our guides Caleb and (name slipped my mind) a female who was awesome. Made me feel super comfortable and the ride was amazing. The horses all seemed to be gentle and happy animals. Soo happy I did this experience. And of course a big shout out to STORM (pictured below), thanks for the ride girl!
Sydney, Clay, and Marie were so professional and respectful to all the ages and groups for our sunset ride today. We got to learn a little about our horses, Image and Excalibur before we rode today and they were the best! The trail was so fun and enjoyable while the wranglers were so personal and professional at the same time. I have lived here for 15 years and seen this place. I’ve ridden with other stables from other states and countries, and the group today was amazing. I give you all a 5 star and do recommend for beginners and those just “getting back in the saddle” thank you for an amazing experience to share for my wife’s birthday!
We had a really great time we did the 1 1/2 hour ride. I highly recommend going with kids that can ride alone 7+. I had my 5 year old ride with me and it was tough but we still enjoyed our ride. Christian was very friendly and communicating with us the whole way. If this is your first time going dont be nervous it only feels scary the first few minutes, and your legs will hurt when you get off. Horses look very well taken care of. Great job guys and gals at 12 Mile Stables. We will be back soon.
My son and I had a great time! We did the hour ride. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. The horses were also obedient. Make sure you stretch your groin before going horseback riding lol. You will definitely enjoy yourself. Please do not forget to tip the staff. They work very hard and enjoy what they do. Don’t forget your hat and/or a pair of sunglasses.
We had an amazing experience going on a sunset trail ride during our stay in Colorado! We had fantastic guides who created great conversation along the way (thanks Eden who started and had to leave and then Kelsey who filled in at the front of the line!!) My husband was skeptical as horses aren’t really his thing and at the end he said he could see himself doing that more often! I highly recommend 12 mile stables :) my horse was Riley and she was a little sassy from behind but she was a good girl! My husband had Wilma who liked to attempt to do her own thing! We will be back in the future!
We had an awesome small group experience with the 1 hr prairie ride. Super nice friendly staff! It was easy to book online the day before. My little girl was too scared to ride so they were able to give me a refund for her when I called the office and left a message they got back to me immediately and issued a refund for her. Would definitely recommend :)
I came here for my birthday and did the one hour ride. It was an amazing experience, the instructor was really friend and was able to get all of us on the horse easily. He also did an awesome job in guiding us and making us feel comfortable with the horses. The horse I rode, Cookie, was awesome and very friendly. Im glad I was able to do this, if I ever come back to Denver again, I will definitely do another ride.
This was an amazing end to our vacation in Colorado. Wilma was a cutie, and I couldn’t have imagined a better partner. My fiancé rode Dorado. He was adventurous and fun. My friend rode Jacques, and boy does he like to snack! Our wranglers were Clay and Gabby and they were awesome and incredibly informative. Thank you so much!
Our grandkids enjoyed their ride. This was their 3rd time here. Our granddaughter rode Wilbur (kind of lazy horse, very slow), grandson and grandpa rode Gus and their saddle was not very big so it wasn’t comfortable for them both, and I rode Wilma (really liked her). Our wranglers were Christian and Gabby who were very nice and helpful. Christian talked and shared good information about horses and experiences. There are 2 reasons I didn’t rate this higher. The man at the window was not particularly friendly, in fact a bit rude. The trail ride is very basic and you don’t see beautiful scenery like is typical for trail rides I’ve been on all over the United States. It’s mostly just dusty dry open land. We were on the 1.5hr and only went over 1 stream (twice). I would prefer a ride that takes us through trees and up a few hills and through more water.
We had a nice ride with Tay and Sydney! Very friendly and provide enough guidance and support to a make sure we had a fun ride and felt safe. We did a short loop on the south end of Cherry Creek State Park for a one hour ride. It was a calm ride. Enough spirit in the horses to need to pay attention but not so much that we were ever worried. Pretty area - if there was anything I would change it would be a trail that gave a touch more view of the mountains. Overall, just what we wanted from a trail ride!
I did the 1.5 hr trail ride for my birthday and had an awesome time. Delilah, the horse I rode, was a sweetheart. Trevor and Nicole were great guides! Nicole was very informative. I loved learning about the personalities of the different horses. Thank you! (The horse pictured is Wilma. She was also very sweet and silly.)
We had so much fun at 12 Mile Stables! I’m an out of towner and have never ridden a horse before. This place was perfect for a first timer! We rode with Ryan and Sam as our wranglers. They were really helpful and engaging during the ride. I had such a good time, I can’t wait to go again. Highly recommend this place and wranglers to anyone looking for a nice and easy horse trail ride!
Today I signed up for the 1.5 hour tail ride at 12 miles and had a very positive experience. Thanks to the amazing guide, Gabby, and the very funny and sweet horse, Missy, who often took me off the tail into bushes for belly/butt scratch. Together, they granted me a very wonderful time, a little get away from everything. Seeing how the staffs talk about their horses and treat the horses, you can definitely feel their love to those beautiful animals. I highly recommend this place!
We had a wonderful time. Great view and Gabby was a wonderful tour guide. Super sweet. We rode Molly, Joe, and Sonic, very good horses super well behaved.
We had an awesome time! Very friendly staff. We did the 8:30 appointment on the 1.5 hr trail ride. Caleb was a really cool guide; he made the experience so comfortable.
Nicole was super fun to talk to and made us feel at ease on her horse Bella. I LOVED riding Magnolia! Queen Mags! Totally the Alpha Female and BIG and easy. Has done this a million times, barely had to guide her. She didn’t even try to snack 😉 Gabby (lead guide on our trail ride) was great spouting off historical facts about the area that I didn’t even know! The dogs at the dog park were not a problem at all. 4PM ride wasn’t overly hot, we got some good breezes and cloud coverage. Would definitely recommend For beginners - my 5 year old daughter sat with me and it was perfect. We loved it. The guides were all awesome.
This was super fun. It was my 9 year old first time on a horse. We did the 1.5 hour ride. Ryan was our guide. Very nice and had his eye on us the whole time. He bade my kiddo feel comfortable on his horse. Nice guy, let us chat his ear off. Highly recommend this place.
Man what an amazing experience!! I was very skeptical when my wife scheduled this because it is close to the city but in the very big park. I’ve worked horses way back in my younger days and this was an experience for my family that doesn’t. The hands that helped us out were amazing. Sydney and Ryan were the two that we spoke with more often and checked on everyone and carried on a great conversations. I feel so bad that I can remember the trail head leader and the other lady that helped get our horses ready for us to get on. The horses were well trained and very easy to work with, even from some of the riders that had no experience whatsoever. My daughters horse had slipped on a weird area and from experience hardly happens, and the horse and her fell. They were immediately on the ball helping her out and unfortunately she couldn’t get her foot out of the stirrup when the horse got up and fell. She was ok and they were immediately jumping off their horses to help. They knew every horse by name, character, personality and where they should be in the line. We did the sunset ride which is the latest ride on 530 and the view was absolutely amazing. If you’re looking for a close to the city trail ride this is it!
Our party of four took the Sunday evening dinner ride. It was an enjoyable experience. Michale our lead wrangler was highly professional and did an amazing job. On the ride, we saw a coyote, jack rabbit, and several white tail deer. The buck was a beautiful six point deer. The dinner was incredible. We all loved the experience.
This is probably great for a first time ride, but any experienced riders I recommend some place else. First we started out 1.5 hr ride almost 45 minutes late. The trail is very basic, nothing too exciting a couple apple trees and a small creek you go over 2x. Its flat and dusty. All the horses were in good shape and my Draft Horse Magnolia (Mags) was just beautiful! My friend rode Captain and he was sweet. Trevor and Gabby were our guides and they were both very nice and informative. If not for the very boring ride this would have gotten more stars.
12 Mile Stables Summer Camp is like a special community, we absolutely love the camp counselors. This was Nolas second week this summer and she had a blast. We see how confident she is on the horses after a week of bonding to her own horse. The camp counselors provide a well rounded experience, learning about horses, caring for them and riding trails and practicing in the arena. Well be back again next summer, thanks everyone!
It was a great place to ride. The staff was extremely nice and very knowledgeable. We had Coyote Wanda as a guide and she was awesome. I was on the horse Marley and he was well trained. Would definitely recommend this place for first timers
We had a wonderful time at 12 Mile Stables today! The staff are exceptional, especially Caleb, who really knows how to connect with the visitors and was so helpful. He is so good at explaining how to ride safely and was careful to watch each rider and interact individually with them. He made certain we all had a wonderful ride and we definitely plan to return in the near future. It was a great family experience!!
We took our 9 and 6 years olds with us. Neither had ever ridden before. The 6 year old was only 40 pounds and I was worried that she wouldn’t be able to control a horse on her own. Those fears were gone as soon as we started out on the trail. Sydney was our guide and she was fantastic. Our girls rode directly behind her and she took great care of them, chatting with them the whole ride. I never felt uncomfortable with them on their own horse the whole ride.We did the 1.5 hour stream crossing trail, which was plenty of time for us. Mostly flat ground. Going down into the stream was about the only steep incline we went up and down. Crossing the stream was pretty neat, and we saw one of the resident coyotes on our way back in.The entire staff was very friendly and took great care of us. The whole experience was positive and I would definitely recommend them, especially for families and beginners.
We were hoping for a little more shade but thankfully the sun went behind the clouds. The 1 hr. trail was basic but our trail guides (Ryan, Nicole & Christian) were great. They were engaging and that is what made the ride interesting. They had lots of interesting horses with personality & fun names. They also had horses that were perfect for 1st time riders or beginners.
Gabrielle was a great ranger, very knowledgeable and cheerful. We loved all the horses we rode: Cookie Leo Tangled, Sonic, Joe, Blossom. Kids and us had so much fun.
Ryan, Gabby, and Nicole were all very wonderful! We chose to do the 1 hr trail ride and it was an awesome experience. I have never been on a horse before and it was a very relaxing ride. The horses were all very well behaved and we loved Riley and Floppy. Would highly recommend and come again!
Sam was the best guide! My family and I had a great ride with Sam. All the staff and horses were friendly. The landscape is nice and a good first ride experience for my kids.
Such a fun ride tonight. Thank you Ryan, Kelsey, and Gary! Please give an apple to Floppy and Mason for us.Ryan and Kelsey were so helpful and friendly. Kelsey took the time to make sure my gear fit just right. Ryan was a great leader and had a ton of interesting info and recommendations for us for future rides. Gary did a great job and making sure riders respected the horses, which is so important. He handled things with grace and humor. Will be back soon!
The trail guides were very knowledgeable and helpful. Its great for first time riders to get the feel of a nice walk. Do expect that loading on horses takes a bit, probably around 30 min before the 1 hour ride. This is because setting up a trail ride is complicated and they want everyone to have a good time which people did.
I had a friend in town and wanted to do something fun and outdoorsy. This was such a great idea! We both had so much fun. Daniel and his partner (our guides) were so very nice helped us all to have a wonderful experience. The trail is beautiful and relaxing! Bring apples and carrots for a treat for the sweet horses after ride.
Our guides were amazing! Gabby and Nichole were especially kind to my 6 year old and really helped her have fun on the ride. Our horses, Dory and Tangled, were wonderful! We had a great experience!!! Well definitely come again.
Kelsey and Christian were amazing on our ride!!! The horses were spectacular and (mostly) well-behaved! 😉 Little Sweetie definitely has some sass to her, but my Harley was patient with her! My daughter absolutely enjoyed Miss Image and talking the ears off of Kelsey and Christian! Thank you for a great experience!
Me and my horse Riley had a great time and I hope he enjoys his treat after this review!! Nicole was amazing with reassuring me on the ride that everything was good! I enjoyed learning new things about horses🙂 I enjoyed being around all the horses in the group as well including Leo, Snowball, Durango, Delilah, and Bella! Highly recommend and will be back!
I guess if you are not from Colorado or have never seen a horse before, this might be a good experience for you. I went there to refresh my riding skills and just for fun. Bad call! The entire experience felt like an adult pony ride with an extremely long wait time. Secondly, the trail is nothing to be excited about. Horses appeared to be not in a great shape, except maybe for just a few. Too expensive for a basic ride. If you are from Colorado and/or experienced horse rider, look for a different place.
Staff was great but dont forget, youll need to pay for parking since its in cherry Creek Park and they add 18% gratuity when you pay at the stables...We did the 5:30 sunset ride, told to get there at 5, didnt leave the stables till about 6. In my opinion, should have started around 630-7 since the sun doesnt set till around 8. Would have made for some better sunset pictures. Also, would have been nice to have been offered a free bottle of water while we waited an hour since the ride was $70 per person. You can get 24 bottles of water for $5 at king Soopers, probably more at Costco, so $0.20 per person is a cost they can afford in my opinion.
On vacation from Jersey and brought my family here. I have prior experience but my mom is a beginner & my brother has never been on a horse before. Regardless of skill level, we all had so much fun! Sydney was GREAT. Best wrangler ever!!!
Myself, boyfriend, and mom had the pleasure of doing the 1hour trail ride at 4:15 (started a little late so expect 2 hour time total)! We rode Pip, Bella, and Durango(?). Horses went about a mile out and a mile back and we saw beautiful greenery during the majority of the ride. Such a fun time! Family fun activity and going in late afternoon was fantastic (not too hot). Our group had about 12 riders.Caleb (lead) rode in the back with us and gave us great information about the horses and 12 stables. Thank you Caleb, Kelsey, and 12 Stables!!!
I went to 12 mile stables with my family and I have to say, it was amazing! I got to ride a male horse named Sonic and he was so well behaved. Bella was an amazing leader. Kelsey and Sidney were amazing guides. Overall, it was an amazing experience.
This is a great something to do with the kids and family. We enjoyed ourselves and the people running the place. They were fin, friendly and knowledgeable. We wish it was a longer trail or an option for a bit more riding....but we knew what we were doing as far as a trail ride. Thanks guys super awesome Fathers Day outing.
It was my best friends birthday and somehow we lucked out with just two of us on the ride plus our awesome guide Lily! Girls day!! Recommend the hour and half! Not too long not too short. We rode on Excalibur and Giggles, and I got a nice farmers tan! Very much recommend the experience! Hope to be back one day!
This was a wonderful experience. Our family of 6 (ages ranging from 4 to 15) went for an 1 hour trail ride and it was awesome. This one a first experience for most of my children so it was perfect 1st time. The wranglers Sydney and Nicole were fantastic. I highly recommend them.
12 mile stables was such an awesome place! We rode with Wanda and Ryan, they were both very personable and made the 1 1/2 tour a wonderful experience for our family. My 3yr old son was able to ride double with me. Ryan was so kind and fun to make the experience more enjoyable for him on the long ride! Would 100% go back again and highly recommend!
My friend and I are in town from Texas and we wanted to go on a trail ride and I’m glad we went with 12 Mile Stables! Ryan, our guide, was super friendly and answered all the questions we had. We rode Gus and Jock who were both great horses and were very gentle, calm and easy-going. The trail was peaceful and had some great views! I would definitely recommend!
We’re from Sacramento and did the sunset trail- highly recommend doing!!! It was such a beautiful trail with amazing views and everyone who works there at the stable is super nice. Our cowboy Ryan was amazing and super helpful. Definitely come here for an amazing experience with even more amazing horses!
First time horseback riding and the staff made our experience very fun and exciting. Ryan and Angel were awesome, they taught us so many great things about horses. I absolutely loved riding Excalibur, he was so patient and fun. He loved stopping and eating the grass. I look forward to visiting again next time I am in town.
Nose to Tail trail ride. Horses were nice, and staff was welcoming and nice, but I was hoping for a little trot or some steering, but the whole ride was walking in a line.Great place if you have never ridden a horse, but if looking for something more eventful, with some excitement, this is NOT the place for you.
We had a 4 o’clock ride with Ryan, Kelsey, and Porsche. Our family consisted of two adults and two kids (8 and 6). The wranglers were great and we had a blast!!! Definitely will be back again. Each of the horses were pair very well to my kiddo. Sydney (also a wrangler) help get my daughter to feel more comfortable with riding by herself! Sydney personally walk my daughter through each of the commands!!! The horses were in great condition and all the wranglers were really knowable about all the horses!! I highly recommend doing a trail ride!!!!
My daughter and I stopped by here on our way to the airport to ride horses and we couldn’t have been more pleased. Ryan, our tour guide was excellent, he made great conversation and ensured we had the best experience possible. Would definitely recommend!
Best experience ever!! Dan and Trevor were our guides on 6/13. We went for the 1.5 hr ride. They were so good with the group and especially with my daughter who started not feeling well. They took great care of her and made sure we all had a great time. I rode Gus, he did a great job! My wife rode Captain, again another great ride. Our daughters rode Storm, Sid, and Leo. They had never ridden before and did great on them. Try this place out! They match you with a great horse and the guides are great!! Thanks guys!
Great experience! My boyfriend and I were visiting from out of state and wanted to do some horseback riding in Colorado. The staff was very welcoming and knew what they were doing. Ryan and Sammy were on our ride and made sure they got to know and talk to everyone. Would definitely recommend!
The ride was awesome and the staff was courteous and professional. The guide we had was Trevor and he made sure we were all good and safe at all times. The horse I rode was named Dusty and he made me feel very comfortable on the trail. I highly recommend the 12 mile stables for anyone.
I had a great time. Everyone was very nice. It was hot on the ride and no shade so make sure you wear a hat, plenty of water and dont go when its too hot because youll be in the sun the whole time.I wanted to go again but this place is popular, so book ahead.
We had a great time on the sunset ride through Cherry Creek State Park. The wranglers, Ryan, Sam, and Kelsey were very friendly, helpful, educational and entertaining. It was a great way for my out-of-town guest to experience a little of the fun and beauty that Colorado has to offer. I enjoyed it so much that I am considering coming back to do it again next weekend.
We got a family as a gift for my mom for Mother’s Day! It was such a wonderful experience! Ryan, Jenna, Kelsey, Sam and a blonde guy (Drew?) were wonderful guides!!Mags was such a wonderful and calm horse!! She deserves all the treats!Ellie (6) “I rode Earl and I love her pretty white spots and she was so sweet! Jenna made me a lot less nervous because it was my first ride, and Sam helped me a lot riding”James (3) “I rode Jacques and he was a good good horse!! And he tried to pass uncle Zachs horse!”
Amazing time. Our three guides Kennedy, Ashley and Sam were amazing. Kennedy was up front with my daughter and handled her pony excellently. Beautiful day and a great time. I will definitely go again.
Visiting my mother from Louisiana and she took us out for horse back riding. Had a great time due to Gabby, Ryan and Nicole. Thank you so much. The horses were fun and easy to get along with (Ex, Wilma and Dory). Thx again guys!
Our family had a fabulous time. The 2 Wranglers that did our ride (Ryan and Asia) checked on us throughout our entire ride. Ryan was especially friendly and informative about each horse which my kids LOVED especially my daughter who is over the moon about horses. They matched horses with rider experience which made us even happier as our kids rode on their own.
Sonic is an amazing horse! So is the staff Gabby Christian and Wanda! What a excellent experience the horses are lovely and the scenery is awesome I hope to be back one day again soon! Jesus loves you
My daughters and I had a great 90 minute ride! Kelsey our guide was so fun and knowledgeable! We highly recommend 12 mile stable and Kelsey!
The staff were incredibly kind. Dorato and Nicole were both amazing with my five year old daughter. We’re excited to come back for a longer ride. Best customer service in town.
This was a perfect place to go for a 1st time horse ride. We had a fun time and our guide Nicole was very informative. My horse was Floppy and he was great, very cooperative!! :)
First time riding horses and Caleb made it the best ever; Tim was also great. I would recommend this 💯… I was really happy with the ride, and pleasantly surprised with the dinner (wasn’t expecting it to be as good as it was) only note on the dinner Is that they advertised “bbq chicken, brisket” and there was only brisket (we would have preferred chicken). But overall an amazing experience I would do it again for sure.
My 10 year old daughter just did a horse camp at 12 mile stables and loved it. The trainers were patient, ensured safety, and made the camp fun. Thanks Sam, Kennedy, and Kelsey!
Ryan and Sam are the most incredible guides! We never thought horseback riding through the city could transport us to the Wild West! Well done 12 Mile Stables! And thank you, Ryan for all the amazing stories!
We had a wonderful ride with Ashley, Kennedy and Sam. The horses are beautiful and well behaved you can tell they are treated with love and affection! The riders were very polite and sociable. We will definitely be back
We had a pony party for our son yesterday and our wranglers were AMAZING we had Caleb and (I know this may be wrong) Laurie (apologies) very patient, informative, and they interacted with the children amazingly! 10/10 would HIGHLY recommend! One of our LOs who we knew probably wouldn’t want to try, but did try to ride with Laurie help! They gave us a decently shaded area for the party and everyone had a great time! We will be back soon and maybe even often!!
We had the most amazing time here today. Our guides Daniel, Kelsey & Trevor were knowledgeable, friendly, and made the ride so much fun! Our horses Wilber, Earl, Magnolia & Delilah were calm and never gave us any trouble. Kelsey helped calm my daughter down who was terrified at first and was amazing at distracting her to turn her scared moment to a happy one! Daniel was a great teacher and taught us so much along the way! We will definitely be coming here again!
My husband booked the sunset tour and it was so wonderful! He was definitely nervous as he has never rode a horse before (he booked the trip mainly for me lol) and Ashley and Ryan was sure to make him feel comfortable! They were so personable and very friendly, a great team! Would definitely recommend for all ages!
I enjoyed the ride but hoped for better weather, although that was out of our control. Dory was an absolute delightful horse to ride and did excellent. Sydney was an amazing guide and told lots of stories.
Brian is a helpful and experienced rider. He helped my friend control the horse Image, when there was an unexpected moment. My friend and I were newbies. When 4 of us pacing towards the field, Image got distracted by plants and started eating. Despite pulled by my friend, Image decided to walk himself back to where we started from. Brian went after him and help control the bridle. I wish there’s a way to upload a short video I filmed that moment.Besides, Brian was very good at keeping us entertained. He has tons of jokes or riddles to share ;)
Took my 2.5 yr old as a drop in after a walk at the dog park. They took us right away and got her on a horse within 5 minutes. Ryan was our guide and he went out of his way to chat to her the whole ride and give us some neat facts about the ranch and the horses as we walked around. We had the option to go around twice and she took it. I was very impressed with how a young man was so great and natural with a little toddler. Thanks for a great experience, well be back
