I took my 2 kiddos and we had lots of fun. There is a smallplay area with swings and a wooden castle. We pretended the potted bushes and trees were a maze and dodged sprinklers. The gift shop has tons of wonderful goodies, and the staff was super helpful and friendly.

One of the best nurseries, and good people too. They did all the trees that line my property. They did a great job, and they also provide on time, and detailed snow removal.

We were impressed with the young man waiting on us. He was knowledgeable and courteous and answered all our questions. Gammon has a great selection of outdoor plants, and we were shown around, while learning about the different hydrangeas that we were looking for.

I am renovating a house and have a lot of plants, shrubs and trees to buy. I was thrilled to see the selection at a locally owned business. On my first trip - a Saturday about an hour from closing, I bought $440 worth of plants. When I got home, i noticed that one azalea of the 3 I bought was not in good shape. The leaves were facing down and many leaves were spotty. After a few days of rain, the other azaleas looked beautiful but one was still not faring we’ll. 6 days later, I went back to buy more plants and decided to exchange the failing azalea. Gammon would not exchange it because I had the azalea for more than 72 hours. I explained that I was here to buy another $300 of plants I simply wanted a different azalea. The young man in the office told me that I could take my $300 and walk! They have lost someone who would have been a great customer. It is so disappointing that a local business owner has such poor customer service because I prefer local small businesses to the big box stores. Gammon has left me no choice but to go to Home Depot and Lowe’s. In the spring, I will head to Landscape World in Lisbon Street in Lewiston. (They are closed for the season now.)

We bought our Christmas tree from gammon and it was the perfect tree for us. Also the garden shop is cute. The only thing is that the prices are a little hefty. (Our tree cost $50) but otherwise its a cute little place.

I would give less than 1 star if I could. My wife went to Gammons today and ordered $300 of loam to be delivered. The cost to deliver it was $30...No big deal. My wife was looking around and noticed a real nice lilac tree. It wasnt a small bush, it was a tall tree. The cost of the tree was $100. The salesperson asked if there was anything else other than the loam. So my wife asked would it be possible to deliver the lilac tree along with the loam? The woman asked the guy in charge and he said It would cost an additional $30 delivery fee. THAT IS CRAZY! WE ARE ALREADY PAYING THEM TO DELIVER LOAM! Not only did they lose the $100 sale of the lilac tree, they lost our business FOREVER! I do want to add that the woman that helped my wife was excellent.

I purchased a rose bush and some other plants and manure for planting the rose as recommended by a young worker at Gammonds who turned out to be the owners son. The rose has been losing its leaves and dying. I drove out to Gammons today to see if I could buy something to help the rose. I told the son the situation..I had removed a beetle, the neighbor has been picking off beetles. He asked me about watering, how deeply it was planted. I had followed his instructions when I purchased it and had done these things correctly. I asked if he was anti- pesticides because he was talking everything but about the beetles. This young man said without a picture he didnt want to sell me something that might not work. So, I walked off and then saw him and said I wasnt happy with the service today compared with my first visit. He repeated everything he had told me previously. I found him dismissive, not rude so to speak. He called his Dad over to explain things to him because he knew I was upset. He then repeated everything again only this time with his Dad there, he kept emphasizing he was not rude, which I had never accused him of. The father just apologized, several times. Off I drove, back home to find 2 Japanese beetles chewing my plant. I picked them off and killed them. So, I will have to go somewhere else to get a pesticide since my rose will die soon from these beetles. Thanks Gammons. I just moved to this area and have a large home that needs plants, shrubs, etc. Unfortunately, my original good impression was changed by poor decision-making on their part. Sad really. I liked the spot but there are others. Reputations are not to be destroyed so casually. Word of mouth is everything in this kind of local business.
