Ive lived at Beacon Hill for over four years now. The buildings are super nice and reasonably priced (especially for the area). Theres a great mix of families and college kids. Whenever I have any issues, I know I can could on Lindsay in the main office or Jessie in maintenance to make it right and reasonably fast.
Very impressed with Beacon Hill! The complex is beautiful and well maintained. I especially enjoy the pool area and volleyball court. The staff makes the process of completing the application, finding an apartment, and moving in all very smooth. Totally recommend!
Very impressed with this apartment complex. Great location with lots to offer. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Lindsey helped a lot in assisting getting the perfect apartment for me. Highly recommend living here.
Horrible experience with this apartment building and management. Due to covid they never showed me the apartment and handed me without any repairs and unresponsive since an year. Which gad bad leaks in the bedrooms, mold on carpet and smelt like decomposed material. After complaining for 3months about the smell they never responded and never. Personally I feel I’m paying rent to the unusable rooms. Never and ever choose this apartment. Management never cares about tenants.
The office staff were all amazing and so helpful every step of the way! Very professional and got all my questions answered fast. They were all very nice and made the whole process easy! It’s a beautiful complex and well taken care of. 10/10 would recommend a friend!!
I have had the best experience moving to Beacon Hill. I don’t understand all the negative reviews. I moved in last month and my apartment has a fireplace and balcony and storage. I looked at other places in the Rochester and AH and couldn’t find something like this that also included a washer and dryer. The application part was so easy too. I got approved in a day and the woman I spoke with explained it all so that I understood the full process. I would recommend for anyone to live here!! Wood floors and a fireplace for the price is good!!
Apartment is nice, extremely overpriced for what it is though. Maintenance is an issue, I have had requests outstanding for months. My favorite part about the community, however, is that management prefers to feed the wildlife (such as the raccoon that hangs around the trash compactor) rather than placing dumpsters in open areas around the complex.
Absolutely awful management. My mom lived here for ~10 years (myself for ~5) and thank goodness she no longer does. I would not recommend living here to anyone. For years we dealt with a broken dryer and refrigerator only for management to ignore requests and be told theres nothing they can do about it. After years of it being broken, right before moving out, management replaced the broken refrigerator. Additionally, anytime a request was made management was rude, snappy and incredibly unhelpful.
I moved into Beacon Hill in March of 2021 and Ive had nothing but good experiences so far. The leasing staff were really quick and attentive when I was looking for a home that would suit my needs. I was able to handle deposits and lease signing completely remote, nice touch during a pandemic. Maintenance takes really good care of the properties and theyve been constantly making improvements to the landscaping since Ive move in. The pool area is large, tranquil and feels rather private for being in a large rental community. My neighbors are friendly and everyone has been really welcoming. The neighborhood is great for dog walking (many friendly dogs) or running with its many sidewalks. The location is great too, with its many restaurants in the area and Great Lakes Crossing is only minutes away. Access to M59 and I-75 is close by for longer commutes. The demographics trend younger with OU being across the street and lots of young professionals working in the area, still a great location for families though. Highly recommend the renovated units if you like nicer finishes!
Gorgeous place and very well taken care of! Staff is very friendly and responsive.
I travel for work so I have rented many apartments and usually do not stay in the same location for more than a year or two. I am going on my second year of living at Beacon Hill Apartments and I felt a review about my experience was necessary because of the pleasant experience I have had here.I have lived in multiple different communities and Beacon Hill has one of the best experiences when it comes to communication from the staff and different contest or events they have for the residents. Seems like they really care about their residents.I havent had much experience with maintenance service or repairs in my apartment specifically but the property always seems well kept which must be a reflection on the grounds staff they have here. Its too bad I wont be renewing at the end of my lease due to my job but I highly recommend Beacon Hill Apartments.
I just moved in few days ago and I have lot of issues.First of all, the management(not all) is rude and very unprofessional. If a tenant makes a complaint, they say thats the way it is and doesnt try to resolve or raise a work ticket.Secondly, I have issues with a very very very poor condition AC and when asked about it they snapped at me and told that 3rd floors have problems keeping up temperature(I understand this, I have lived in higher floor apartments, if lower floor takes 10minutes to get to 70F, higher floor takes 30mins, which is acceptable, that is not the case here) also suggested to close the blinds, buy some fans for myself (also told that they cant do anything about it). I dont think its right to tell someone how to live.Third, the apartment is given to me in poor condition. Used restrooms and showerheads. When asked about it I was told that they are sanitized.Attached are the photos of things that I found when I was moving in and AC conditions I was complaining. Please do yourself a favor and not move here!!
Gigi and Brittany in the office are super helpful. I appreciate their prompt response and follow up whenever I’ve contacted them.
I have lived at beacon hill for about 2 years and I have had a great experience. There have been very minor issues, just common routine maintenance. The entire company is very helpful and are very knowledgeable of the business they run. The office staff is wonderful in particular and have always been a delight to work with, they always have your best interest in mind. The maintenance team is amazing as well, any thing I have been concerned about was taken care of right away by one of the techs on property. I appreciate all they do! Overall a great place to live!
The apartments are very large and feel more like condos. My family and I love living here.
I have lived in three different apartments in the last 6 years and Beacon Hill was the best one where I lived 3.5 years and moved recently to my own house. There are many reasons I liked this society so much. Beacon Hill is the best if you have a pet, specially dogs because there is ample of space where you can walk/run/play with your dog. They have varieties of apartment architectures with beautiful landscape which is very unique. I have heard people complaining about their service but I never had such issues with the service. Any service issues used to be taken care of promptly and they even replaced my HVAC upon my request because it was not working good. They have their own online portal where you can log your service issues which is better than any other nearby apartment societies. The only improvement needed is in their trash management process where I think should be handled in a more hygienic manner by incorporating more trash compactors at reasonable locations because the society is indeed very big and people really dont want to come a long way to just dispose their trash . Another suggestion as a pet owner, they can install Dog Waste Stations and trash cans in various locations throughout the society so that some irresponsible pet owners who do not clean up after their pets at least think of cleaning it by seeing those waste stations. It was a very well spent 3.5 years with beautiful memories. I will definitely recommend my friends (specially with pets) for Beacon Hill Apartments.
Really enjoy living here. Been around since 2006 and have seen many changes. Maintenance has improved ten-fold within the recent year.
The staff is incredible - really makes you feel like a valued tenant. Fair prices, beautiful apartments, and close to lots of fun local attractions or places of business. 10/10 recommend living within Beacon Hill Apartments.
Good management. We called the office to put in work request and the office communicated to maintenance quickly. The maintenance men came out and fixed my dryer the day following. I have referred many friends to move here and Beacon Hills has a referral program too
Great Apartments at a great location. Everyone was very friendly and nice to me.
Been living at Beacon for 3 years and I love calling Beacon Hill my home!! The area is great and I always feel safe here. They updated all the lights in the parking spots that makes me feel even safer, especially living on a first floor home. I am going to be staying here for another year.
Had an amazing experience living here. Rooms were beautiful and spacious. Apartments are in a great area. The assistant manager Lindsey was kind, professional, and so helpful.
Maintenance issues are never solved. The outside is framed to look luxurious when the insides are very low quality. Older models have horrible appliances and staff is extremely rude and snappy even when you call to ask simple questions. Live anywhere but here.
I have been living in a Hampton style apartment and love it! I like the space, the crown molding, and the balcony. I also enjoy that Beacon hill has its own nature path trail to walk on. The closet space is also good if you are not use to having alot of space.
The staff here was so friendly and helpful, especially Lindsey. Were able to answer all my questions I had about the property and was very responsive. The property was also beautiful, and the units had lots of space that were up to date.
Lindsay is awesome! She answered all my questions in a timely fashion. The apartments are spacious and in a great location, highly recommend!
I have lived here for almost 2 years and nothing but great service and people! Amy Urchick and Lindsey Stallsmith are the most amazing people that work here! Awesome landscape and they take care of this apartment community!
Such an ideal location as well as spacious apartments! You dont feel like youre living in a crammed space and the surrounding area has no traffic noise or anything keeping you up through the night.
Such a beautiful property! The staff is friendly and very helpful. The apartments are spacious. The location is amazing. Definitely would recommend.
This is a wonderful place! The staff is amazing and very helpful. Whenever I have a problem I can definitely count on the staff to help solve my problems.
Affordable rent for the area. Lots do to around the complex too. Looking forward to the new pool area the staff told me about
As other reviewers have commented, the trash issue at this apartment complex is a huge problem that is largely ignored. Every single day it is over flowing and in the early hours of the morning it attracts tons of rodents. If this is any indication of how management handles a simple issue such as waste management, let that be a stark reminder to you of how they handle other issues. Stay far, far away.
Horrible place. I have rented various apartments all over Michigan. This is the first time I am giving a negative review about one. I request you the management is sweet talking liars. There is a serious bed bug problem in some of the apartments. Never had a bed bug issue in my life and had twice in a single year. They do not allow any outside internet service. Their own internet service is horrendous.
Apartments are very clean and spacious for the price! Maintenance and office staff have been very helpful throughout the years.
The office is very knowledgeable and communicates well. questions never go unanswered here.
Amazing apartments! Love how spacious and cozy they are and for a very reasonable price! Would definitely recommend a friend to live here!
I think we can all say that 2020 has been an eventful year which brought many challenges when it started. Moving forward into the new year will continue with new challenges as well. It saddens me to see so many negative reviews about the staff, maintenance, etc. as they too have been faced with many challenges. Most of my communication with the office has been through email during the pandemic and at times it can be frustrating not to speak with a person, but I will say all of my issues were resolved in an acceptable timeline considering the restrictions placed on the company, and the entire nation for that matter. The apartment complex is located in a wonderful community. They have many floor plans to choose from and the apartments are clean and cute. The staff is very helpful, knowledgeable and professional. I can only speak for myself but please do not let all the negative reviews scare you from missing the opportunity of being a part of a great community!
These apartments are amazing! Lindsey was extremely helpful with the move in process, excited to call this place home :)
While looking for an apartment for my daughter to live at while she was attending Oakland University I received a referral from a friend to deal with Lindsey Stallsmith at Beacon Hill. After contacting Lindsey and explaining what I needed for my daughter she quickly explained what was available at the moment and what would be coming available in the coming weeks. Very professional and a pleasure to work with.
Love the pool area!
They always took care of my issues and it was easy to work with them.
From first hand experience, this has been a miserable 10 months of my 24 month lease. Management company is awful and does not seem to really care about the residents, but only that they get their money on the 1st of the month no exceptions. I have multiple issues such as molded and water damaged cabinets that have yet to be fixed for 10 months. I highly recommend looking elsewhere to live. I have also had multiple floods and leaks. Now our internet service has been down for 5 hrs (needless to say it goes out multiple times a month) and the company they use is telling us they aren’t sending a technician out but are waiting to hear from a apartment management person who isn’t in the office.. So what service am I paying for??
Before moving to Beacon Hill, I did my research and was extremely hesitant inquiring about an apartment because of the negative reviews. However, in todays world I understand alot of us only choose to talk about negative experiences which is why I thought it was very important to leave this review.I needed to move quickly and this apartment was within my price range, time frame so I decided to proceed. First, the leasing process was quick and easy. I was approved for my apartment in a day and the agent was very responsive and helpful with all the questions I had. Second, after moving in, I feel I am still valued and responded to quickly.I have not had any experience with maintenance yet. The apartment itself was good the day I moved in. Everything works so far and neighbors are very friendly. My apartment has a washer and dryer inside and alot of storage. I also have private entry. Everyone I have had contact with here has been pleasant and I have enjoyed my time here.
I was very excited to move here this summer and so far I have not been disappointed. My apartment is very cozy even with it being on the first floor and I am happy to have a parking spot that has coverage over it (my first winter in Michigan). I wish the pool would have been opened this summer though
Beacon Hill Community is by far the best community I have lived in since I have returned to Michigan. I was previously living in Birmingham MI and this community far surpasses my previous experience. The grounds are very well kept, the staff is so polite and responsive as well as the neighbors are very nice and you dont even here a sound from your unit. The units are so beautiful and spacious! I would highly recommend this community to everyone I can!
Wonderful staff and location! Apartments are a great size with plenty of room and great amenities!
I have lived here for over a year and a half. I see other reviews complaining about maintenance and felt compelled to share my positive experience. The few times Ive needed maintenance the response has always been quick. My A/C required a couple of trips by maintenance to finally fix correctly. Eventually required a complete replacement. If I owned a property I would try to fix it as cheap as possible to begin with to avoid unnecessary expenses if possible. I believe this helps to keep the rent cost reasonable. Beautiful grounds, close to anything you would ever need.
Staff are always helpful. Complex is walking distance from Meadow Brook Amphitheater.
In my previous apartments, I was always very hesitant living on the first floor or apartment below someone else. Since living here, I have had a pleasant experience and have no issues with noise from people who live above me. My apartment is very cozy and a great size for a one bedroom. I like having a washer and dryer inside the apartment instead of community laundry.
My daughter and friends leased an apartment from Beacon. I needed to be on the lease as well. The office staff is incredibly unprofessional and downright rude. We had communication challenges with them prior to signing the lease, so it was no surprise that the experience throughout the lease was terrible. If the girls hadn’t already had logistical details worked out, we would never have moved forward with this lease. In retrospect and based on the experience, I wish we would have gone with our instincts (if service was that bad at the beginning, it was a high probability it would only get worse). The apartments are dated and not well-maintained, but adequate for college students.
Really impressed with Beacon Hills and their timely fashion on responding to my requests. The ladies in the office always assist me with rent questions and helped me re-up my lease another year. Maintenance has been wonderful too. My dishwasher was recently leaking and the guy fixed it right away.
Please no one come here. They never fix anything. I have been waiting over 1-1/2 years for my fireplace to be fixed and no compensation for the inconvenience and I am paying for this every month. I would leave if I could immediately and go somewhere else. I would rate a 0 if I could but I cant. Also with winter coming no one has come to finish the sidewalk that they tore apart. When I moved out they had boards and I tripped and fell and hurt for 5 days. Someone is going to sue if they havent taken care of this. I am much happier at my new place. You call to get something fixed and they come immediately. They never ignore you like Beacon Hill did. I will never go back there.
We moved into our apartment with no screens in our windows, the air conditioning is old and doesn’t cool our apartment, also our water was leaking/running into the apartment downstairs for a year before they decided to fix it right. We have been here a year and we still don’t have screens in our windows and the air conditioning system hasn’t been updated. Also our fireplace never worked since day one. It’s just here for pretty, not to use. “Go figure.”I management is poor, the maintenance is incompetent. The workout room has old machines and weights, the sauna is used for storage, so no one can use it. These apartment have went way downhill. I would not recommend renting here, you’ll be very disappointed.
Google should provide negative stars rating option at least for this apartment. I feel like there is no staff in the leasing office. Worst people. Do not lease in this apartment.
This is the worst place I’ve lived. We didn’t have AC for a whole month and maintenance came and “fixed it” multiple times. I reached out to the property manager explaining our concern and issue and got ignored. I asked her to give me a call so we could figured it out and get it fixed and I received no response. At least be professional and apologize for the inconvenience and let me know it’s being fixed. The wifi service is a rip off as well. They’re the only provider with decent speeds and it’s over priced for what you get. Don’t waste your time with this place.
Honestly would be giving this place a zero if I could. Every bad review is on point 100% with what’s being discussed. The office staff does nothing to help when you call and report any issues. Called about my air conditioner 3-4 weeks ago now and have yet to see anyone to come check it out. I’ve been without air all of July, the HOTTEST month of the year, but that apparently isn’t deemed as an emergency even with multiple heat advisories. Maintenance has no idea what they are doing when it comes to repairs. We have mold on our wall in-between one bedroom and the furnace and the solution was to come and clean the walls off and cover it up with paint. They ruined the carpet within that process and I would hate to see what the inside of the walls look like. Recently they decided it was okay to start repairing windows at 8 am everyday without any consent of the residents or even any notice letting me know they would be invading my home while I’m in my bed sleeping, almost let my cat outside, and left my apt a mess once the process was over. We’ve had a leak in our ceiling that’s caused by our bathroom sink once we turn it on that we have reported multiple times almost 6-8 months ago that has yet to be fixed. AVOID this place. Not worth the $1,000+ Per month they expect. With all of the “repairs” they have done on the property I’ve gotten two flat tires because they hire contractors who can’t clean up after themselves. Seriously though!!! Don’t expect my money for a place that is far from operational. Overpriced, unintelligent maintenance staff, rude office employees with lame excuses. Need I go on?? Have yet to hear anything back from anyone and honestly am just sick of calling to be told things will be done “shortly.” Fix your problems before you have legal issues! All I have to say.
My friend lives in the new building 2692 in the upgraded apartments and they are really nice. I am moving to the area in July for the medical school program and spoke with the office and got helpful information about the upgraded apartments. The utilities are not included but the apartment has its own washer and dryer
Worst management. Apartments are installed with old appliances which consumes more energy. They wont even change the appliances. The internet sucks and you wont get high speed internet. Heating and cooling is very ineffective. People working in the office are very rude and wouldnt care about your complaints
I had originally planned to move into this apartment complex, but due to the terrible reviews and the utter rudeness of the Assistant Manager, Lindsey Stallsmith, I will not be leasing with Beacon Hills. I can’t believe someone would be so rude when trying to lease an apartment. Stay away from this place, dont even give them a call, you will not be met with anything but disrespect.
Clean, spacious apartments and amazing staff!
Unresponsive maintenance. Equipments are old. Monthly DTE bill is very high due to old wiring. Worst management i have ever seen. Very arrogant and rude. Not willing to help or co-operate. Do not care about tenants.
My roommate and I moved in about two weeks ago and it has been a much better experience here compared to my last apartment complex. The application process was very easy! My apartment looked great when I moved in and I have not come across any issues so far. Private entry and washer and dryer were two things I was really looking for and Beacon Hill offered both.
I stayed at Beacon Hill for 1 Year and I can tell you that it was my biggest regret Ive had since moving to Michigan for school. I am currently a graduate student at OU and I thought wow it would be extremely convenient to live right across the street. While it is across the street I recommend renting at Boulevard instead which is the complex adjacent to this one.First and foremost, the internet is atrocious. You are stuck with two options either like 10 Mbps for $40 or their in house service called ACR. With ACR I paid about $82 a month for 20 Mbps. This isnt 2010, these prices are ridiculous. Not only is it expensive its unreliable. The internet has gone down at least once or twice a month when I lived there. The speeds often are slower than what advertised and I have left my apartment to find reliable internet elsewhere plenty of times.A second look at all the other reviews and they will tell you about how Maintenance is at this complex. Finally, the staff there can be quite difficult to work with. There is only one person out of all the staff that has treated me decent during my stay there. I proceeded to have all my interactions go through this one person because I could not handle the horrible service anymore.I am glad to be out. I highly advise against staying here because I can tell you it isnt worth it. There are plenty of other options in the area that can treat you better.
Ive lived in the Beacon Hill Apartment complex for 2 years now and I have a lot of great things to say. The entire staff has always been friendly, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful to me. Every issue Ive ever had was solve immediately, whether it was getting locked out of my apartment to having a plumbing issue. I would like to give a special thank you to the maintenance staff here at Beacon Hill. Every time Ive ever called them for help, I kid you not they were there in less than 10 minutes. Just last week a pipe broke in my ceiling, so I went to the main office to ask for help, not even 2 minutes after I informed them of the leak, I saw Roberto (a hero on the maintenance staff) running, not walking, RUNNING, to his van to meet me at my apartment just a few moments later. Not only was I extremely thankful but so impressed by his positive attitude, kindness, and willingness to help fix the problem. As soon as he saw the problem, he got to work, found the issue, and patched the leak all in less than an hour - 45 minutes. Im not sure where you found this gentleman but he is definitely an asset to your team and he should be acknowledged for all of his great efforts. To keep this review as unbiased as possible the only thing that could use more attention would be the dumpster. There are a lot of people who live in this complex so I understand that the trash would pile up very quickly. Adding another dumpster or having an extra trash removal day, in my opinion would definitely benefit the entire community. Beacon Hill has been great to me and for anyone looking for a nice place to live I would highly recommend calling the main office for more information. Thank you so much for these amazing 2 years, this is a time that I will never forget.
My apartment is huge! I just moved in about a month ago and everything is going well so far. The area is very nice and staff is very friendly. SO glad they allow pets too! I just checked out the walking trails last weekend and they are perfect for my dog and I.
Internet here is so horrible, this sole reasons made me rate one star, that too in this times where working from home is prevalent, i am looking forward to move out ASAP. You will be left with only two options for choosing your connection here and both are really bad, their ACR option is more expensive than Xfinity and offers the worst connection you could ever imagine. I am living off by tethering my mobile hotspot for official work.Other than that the location itself and the apartment management is pretty decent.Update 7-16-2020:Just noticed the response from management saying they restored connection, and wanted to clarify, i have been residing here for almost 2 years, i can confidently attest that internet has been consistently bad, the pings per second is so poor and the connection gets lost every 10 minutes, if you are in middle of an important meeting working from home, this ACR will make that experience so painful. yes i am still experiencing the poor internet from wifi, still sticking to my personal hotspot from my phone, basically 70 $ i pay monthly for internet is like giving free money to the ACR company. I would say if you are a tech savy person using internet for working from home, utilizing steaming services, playing online games, please think twice before moving here.
I just moved into Beacon Hill from California and I have enjoyed living here so far. Beacon Hill feels like its own private community when you drive around or walk around. The pool area is very large and my apartment is also a good size for only one bedroom. I have not had any experience with maintenance so far but the office staff was helpful while moving here.
My wife and I moved here about a year ago and absolutely love it. I am surprised to see so many negative reviews because I have not had any problems with Beacon. Any maintenance requests I have put in get fixed within a couple of days of the request and the staff is always helpful. My apartment is also very nice. Cant wait for the Summer season here, the landscaping is always really nice.
Have been trying to reach the office via phone for almost 2 months. It always goes to Voicemail. Ive been a resident there for several years and this has been the lowest customer service Ive seen. Some time the voice mail box is full and cant even leave a voice mail.
I have been living in Beacon Hill Apartment past 2 years. It’s a wonderful community in auburn hills. The maintenance service is quick and I enjoy living here. The apartment layouts are unique and spacious. Community club house is great for workouts. I would recommend people to move here if your looking for a new home in Auburn Hills, MI
I have been at Beacon Hill for a little less than a month so far. I dont get the one star reviews honestly. Its a nice community with updated apartments. I signed a lease for a one bed one bath and its a beautiful apartment with hardwood floors. My stove/oven was very old when I moved in and the handle broke when I moved in second day. I put in a request that evening to have the handle fixed and when I got home from work the next day I came back home to a brand new 2019 oven/stove. Honestly that was enough to win me over for the time being. They also had a guy come out to install a Chandelier and look at my fireplace. My only complaint is the actual lease signing. I couldnt even SEE my apartment until lease signing. I had to base my decision to move here by pictures alone. Was not really cool with that but I am glad overall I chose beacon hill. It will suit me well for the year that I will be here.
I have lived at Beacon Hill Apartments for a couple of months now and I absolutely love it. The maintenance staff fixes repairs in the apartments very quickly and does a great job. I love my wood flooring, large patio, and private entry too. The area is beautiful and the staff was very helpful during my move. Love it here!
This place is unprofessional and starts heavy machinery maintenance/construction work at 8 am almost every morning of spring and summer, directly outside of the apartment. The water will shut off intermittently and management expects residents to cage pets and “declutter” apartments for random maintenance checks. When you ask for a repair they don’t give you a scheduled day or time, they expect you to cage your pet for multiple days in a row for them to come into your apartment at random during business hours. The ponds and nature trails nearby are very beautiful, the apartments themselves are fine. Management is just unprofessional and does not currently seem to uphold the tenant/landlord agreement with mutual respect.Update: I already spoke to Amy and Monica on the phone about my complaints. When I complained about not being notified about a water shut-off, Amy said, “Well you signed a lease...”I am not questioning the lease, I am questioning whether Beacon Hills can do a more professional job of holding up their end of the agreement. This apartment complex seems only concerned with doing the bare minimum, not with customer service. When I complained to Monica about construction happening multiple times a week on my building at 8:00, her response was, “Yep.” They both told me I had to deal with it. Their response to this review is clearly a show and it is insulting.
The central location of this complex is the only thing it has going for it. For the money you pay, there are little perks you receive as a resident. And when I say little I mean absolutely zero perks. For example, you pay for trash... yet there is 1 dumpster for the ENTIRE complex. Its also a compactor, so when it gets full (which is several times a week) then there are bags of trash stacked up outside of it. Nothing like coming home from a long days work to see bags of trash barricading you from your building. Classy Beacon Hill, classy. I would recommend this location to homeless dogs and that’s all. Keep driving down Walton, there are plenty of other places for a way better deal and better service.
Its not the absolute worst apartment complex, but its not that good. Their maintenance team is very small. So responding to issues takes them quite a while. My boyfriend who also lives in the complex went without a working dryer for 3 months. Our hot water tank broke 6 times leaving us with cold water every time. After reaching out more than 5 times about or broken windows letting wasps and flies in, they finally replaced it. Their portal for paying is not that simple. We often had issues paying and it cost us late fees and penalty fees. Our wifi was broken for a month and we still had to pay it.The apartments are spacious and I dont have any problems with neighbors. The grounds are pretty. So its not the worst place, but I would search for something else.
Ive been here just over a year. I love my apartment, it is beautiful, spacious and updated, and reasonably priced compared to other apartments. I love all of the trees and how quite it is outside (I previously lived behind a grocery store and dealt with semi-trucks coming in all times of the day and night). Ive had some stressful, uncomfortable struggles with inconsiderate upstairs neighbors but the office has been sympathetic and willing to do what they can to alleviate the issue. Only so much you can do about inconsiderate people. I have seen improvements happening in the complex which is really nice. Windows that have needed replacement have been replaced. The car ports have been esthetically updated. We have a second trash compactor to help with garbage, but my favorite improvement is the newly paved road leading out to Squirrel Road which used to be so full of potholes. Im grateful for the updates.
I have just moved into a brand new renovated apartment here at beacon, when i was looking i did see some of the older units. I hope Beacon does these upgrades to other apartments because MY APARTMENT IS AMAZING! Not only is it bigger than a house i rented before, its cheaper and has better upgrades. Glad i was able to snag the low rent and sign a three year lease
This place is home away from home.It is quiet, peaceful, and clean. It is very close to university- 15 minutes by walk. The management team is really responsive and addresses any issue on a timely manner. The rent (compared to other similar apartments) is way reasonable and I would say less.I have stayed here for past 8 months and I am planning on extending the lease to further coming years.Awesome Beacon Hill
I loved this community because it was a perfect location while i finished my medical degree at Oakland University across the street. I had a super cute apartment with a loft for a couple year with some of my friends, and i couldnt have asked for a better experience. We did have our A/C go out a couple of time which kind of sucked being on the third floor, but the office staff was always so helpful same with the maintenance. I loved these apartments because when i had friends visit it was nice to get compliments about how cute it is where i lived, which i totally agree! this community really does stand out with all the beautiful landscaping . They have a great pool and actually a nice work out space, it doesnt have super late hours but its free so. i just moved out to be closer to work but loved living here the past few years.
Know what you are getting yourself into (and what risks you are taking) by signing a lease here. Beacon Hill management does not seem to care about tenants and didnt address problems my roommates and I had (maintenance) reasonably or in a timely manner. The worst part of the experience was how they ignored our maintenance requests about our air conditioning being broken for more than a month from May to the end of June (it reached over 90 degrees F for 2 weeks during this time). We had submitted multiple requests and had made numerous attempts to communicate the urgency of the issue to management, but management just brushed our concerns under the rug and basically told us to go pound sand. My roommate had a top loft in the 3 bedroom apartment and was often forced to go to sleep in an ambient air temperature of ~85 degrees F. These were not reasonable living conditions and to neglect this problem for over 1 month is criminal. I spoke to Amy Urchick about these issues, only to have them brushed under the rug. I also had a lower level manager (I think her name is Sherri) yell at me over the phone when I demanded a prompt response after a few weeks of dealing with no A/C in hot weather. If you decide to live here, just hope that nothing goes wrong and make sure to properly document your interactions with maintenance and staff (so you have recourse when they drop the ball).****Note for anyone seeing some of these positive reviews and wondering if it isnt really as bad as some of these reviews suggest: Most (if not all) of these are posted during special incentive programs that Beacon Hill Management run for posting positive reviews in exchange for the chance to win gift cards in a raffle. I have attached a picture of an email communication regarding this incentive program (although this email doesnt specify that it has to be a positive review, previous promotions did include this requirement). This is the source of many of the positive reviews, and the actual tenant opinion of beacon hill is much lower than that which is reflected in the average star rating.Proceed with caution (actually, you probably should just proceed somewhere else).
Appreciate the maintenance for coming out over the holiday to fix my sons heat immediately and we’re kind enough to help us light the fireplace!
I enjoy living at Beacon Hill Apartments because of the staff. They are friendly and professional. Its always a pleasure to speak with them even if the circumstances are not pleasant. Our apartment is spacious and affordable and the maintenance team does a FANTASTIC job of keeping the grounds clean.
Just moved in two weeks ago and everything is going good so far. The staff was very responsive and professional and my apartment looks great. I had some concerns about living here because of the negative reviews but I am glad I made the decision to give it a try because I am very impressed. My apartment had everything I was promised and its in a beautiful location.
Beacon Hill Apartments are so nice. Its located near everything I need . I love having a balcony and fireplace too. The office staff is very friendly and I have not had any maintenance issues since I have lived here. Great place to live!
My experience at Beacon Hill has been positive and welcoming. I recently moved here, and have been enjoying the location and area. It is just minutes away from the Village of Rochester, Meadow Brook Hall, and other various shopping centers. I feel safe when entering my community and my apartment has great wood floors which have been very convenient for cleaning.
Staff is very rude. They will not treat you properly and you wont get proper response. Its waste of your time & energy.
The apartments themselves are not terrible or ugly, the location is convenient but the appliances are cheap and unmanaged. When woman working in the office promise one thing to be handled by maintenance workers, the next person (whether another receptionist or maintenance employee) you talk to will tell you a completely different solution. This is the product of poor communication among employees, therefore this is not a place I would recommend for students who attend OU or OCC to live. The amount of time it takes to get problems solved is at least a month, and takes repeated phone calls to become clear that it is a priority for the staff.
I really like my apartment, been here for awhile each year i seem to have A/C or heating issues but maintenance is great and will give space heaters until things are fixed. staff is great, and its a great location with school across the street. rent is cheap too
Unfortunately, I cant give zero stars. Apartments are old so high chances that one can run into service issues. Once any such issue happens, the management will take their own sweet time to fix things... sometimes months. Overall:1) VERY RUDE management.2) Service requests of serious nature are certainly ignored.3) Internet connection here sucks big time.Wont recommend at all.
My home away from Home. Staying in this Apartments from 2013 and just extend my lease again. Management is very professional and maintenance is quick, responsive and friendly. Located in a prime locality with great views and proper day light, less rent when compared to other apartments close by. Really great place for students going to OU and people who work near by
I have been here for over a year now. The HVAC system has always been giving us issues and they never want to replace it. Everything is so old and they don’t bother fixing things. It’s winter and we have not had access to hot water or hot air for over weeks now. They keep giving the same excuses that they’ll let the manager know or the contractor blah blah, yet nothing gets done. Rent keep increasing yet no improvement in the service. Customer service is also really poor and unprofessional staff acting like robots. I won’t recommend this place to anyone I know, go elsewhere.
Been here for past year & will be renewing my lease, since management is soft-spoken, and very responsive towards any issues! It helped a lot during winter cause the management guys preety much clear the snow way early in the morning. I would recommend Beacon hills to everyone. :)
They are lucky I don’t go into detail. I suggest reading previous reviews and know that the consistent negative ones are true.
Beacon Hill has really nice apartments and amenities. They have really big apartments that they are starting to upgrade too. Very nice property with a lot of options.
I am staying here for past 9 years and have great experiences with the office staff and maintenance. When ever there is some problems the management takes care of things very fast. enjoy to call beacon home.
I would give 0 rating. Managers are dealing with the people in a harsh manner which is not at all good. Restroom leakages washer pipelines broken, switch boards are not working no one is responding. I would suggest not to choose this
DO yourself a favor, Go to Auburn Hills Apartments on Patrick Henry. Lived their more than 3 years and no issues at all. Problems got resolved in timely and professional manner there. Beacon Hill is totally opposite. Stay away from Beacon Hill if you dont want to waste your time/effort/money. Gave them 4 months to prove they are not hopeless but finally had to write this here. They pay you money to write positive reviews. CHEAP!! Shame to the management and the fake reviewers. Management lacks common sense to understand how things work. Maintaining the property is not their responsibility, they will do it if they feel like it. But you must pay your full rent on time. All rules for residents, nothing for them. Once you sign lease, you are stuck!! You Have Been WARNED!!!! They define a new level of HOPELESSNESS!!NO clue who entered the apartment and did what!! No note left, no text messages, no calls. If they say they send texts/leave notes, thats BS. I am getting out of here as soon as I can. They do have nice floor plans though, if you can enjoy/share them with 2 inch spiders/insects/bugs/flies/leaking windows/bees. They just dont have that mindset to improve or learn from their mistakes. I usually dont write reviews unless someone really really really deserves it.
