The phones were down when I called them so I emailed my concerns. They emailed me back and called and also came to my residence for follow up. I was very surprised that they took all those actions to follow up with me about the stray cat problem here in Winton. They say they will spay and neuter stray animals when they are caught which I think is a great thing. They also offer to drop the cats back off if wanted since they do help counteract mice and rat problems.

I recently adopted a dog from here. I have no issues with the staff at all, they were very friendly and welcoming.The one reason Im not giving them five stars is due to the pandemic regulations on the adoptions. I totally get why one person with a mask at a time in the facility is a must and that the health of the employees is very important. But I dont quite get why the adoption process has become more difficult.You cant walk through the facility and look at the dogs they have on your visit. You have to go to the website and look at the list of dogs they have, of which isnt updated for a few days sometimes, and call to make an appointment with one specific dog.Then at the appointment, you cant spend time with the dog to get a read on its personality. You can only look at it through a glass door, and after that you have to decide whether or not you want to put the adoption fee down.If you do decide to put money down, the dog gets fixed a few days later and then youre able to go in a room and spend time with them. If by that visit you decide you dont think that dog is a good fit for you, you can choose to get a refund but that refund is a check sent in the mail from the county and can take a week or two to get to you. This refund process was explained to me by one of the staff.I just really wish I would have been able to look at all the dogs on the appointment day to make the adoption process a little bit smoother.Aside from that one bump in the road, my experience was generally positive. I am very happy with my new buddy. Animal services offers a free exam (at select clinics) up to 14 days after adoption, which is great.

This facility is Amazing. I have been here a few times looking for my pet. This is the cleanest and most organized shelter I have ever seen. The temperature inside for all these pets is very cool as the outside temperatures reach in the 100s. The staff are so helpful and knowledgeable. Please go find a new family pet.

It is a great place for Community Service! It also is the best place to adopt a new pet! The staff work hard and care for the animals, it is really tough work but worth it! The kittens are very sweet and playful and the Dogs are all loving and ready for a new home! All animals are cared for by the staff and they get daily check ups by the vet! So your new pet is healthy and ready to go home!

They were friendly, helpful and patient with me from the beginning. I was able to ADOPT a kitten (maybe a year old)he was from the neighborhood and I was able to get him fixed and all his shots plus he was microchiped and he had an abscess on his cheek. They took good care of him. He is Registered with Home Again so if he gets trapped again I will have a better chance of getting him home. He doesnt want to be an indoor pet so I have to keep a close eye on him. My only concern was that the cats are in a metal cage that they lay in their litter boxes. The metal cage is cold and with no towels or rags to lay on. Im sure that they have there reasons. So instead of buying a new MEMBER in your life (ADOPTION OF A POUND ANIMAL IS THE BEST. ITS AN EASY WAY TO HELP MAKE A DIFFERENCE FOR THESE PRECIOUS BABIES) GETTING YOUR ANIMALS FIXED DECREASES THE AMOUNT OF THESE PRECIOUS BABIES BEING PUT DOWN!!!! BE RESPONSIBLE. THERE ARE MANY PLACES THAT HAVE DEALS ON GETTING YOUR ANIMALS TAKEN CARE OF. NO EXCUSES FOR NOT BEING RESPONSIBLE. MAKE SURE YOU DO YOUR HOMEWORK WITH WHAT YOURE GOING TO NEED TO DO BEFORE YOU ADOPT!!! THE ANIMAL CANT CARE FOR THEMSELVES !!!

Great experience adopting our furry addition to our family. You can tell the workers genuinely care for the animals. When considering a pet for your family, please adopt. There are too many poor dogs waiting to be rescued.

The MCAS was extremely helpful in making sure I got my Cat baçk after a man in the mobile home park in which I live, began trapping, any and all animals that went onto hisSpace. The staff was extremely helpful in allowing us to see the interactions of the two dogs we wanted to adopt. We even had the opportunity to bring in our older dog to make sure all three would get along. We appreciated the kind and patient staff members. Excited to see that the interactions at the shelter and with each other went so well that their transition was an easy one.

Even tho I just moved tp a different county and was from merced county. I love this place my mom use to work here a long time ago and weare really looking forward for a new member in our family and ik we will find a dog here. My mom told me that they have a lot of different types of dogs here so Im SUPER excited!!

Not that I favor kill shelters, but this over crowded, understaffed, hell on Earth shelter told me the lovable lost dog had three days and then would be evaluated for death. No volunteers welcomed. WTH?

I have never written a bad review,this is the first . I called three times for them to pick a dog who was left on the Castle base . It sits in the same place everyday for two weeks this is the third week. The dog is still there. I left water for the dog a worker went and dumped it out. I tried leaving a little food and water today and some jerk came out dumped out the water and removed the food. People are so damn cruel! I dont know what else to do. The dog is scared i tried to get it to come to me but Im sure people have not been kind to him/her.

Well I love the fact the dogs are getting rescued but hate the fact that alot of them dogs eventually get put to sleep#savetheanimals

I went in here to pick out a dog for my girlfriends birthday. The one she wanted was 110 dollars so we came the next day to find a cheaper one. However, upon finding one we wanted to meet and greet, one employee (didnt catch her name, old Caucasian lady with hair a little bit past her shoulders) said that we couldnt meet with the dogs because we didnt have the money yesterday and were busy and wasting my time. If youre not adult enough to be working there and dont have the capacity to control your attitude, dont work with people. Never going to come back here. Worst experience ever.

This is a great place because they took me in right away I brought a dog that ended up at my house and that I couldn’t keep so we took of me in a little puppy and they just really were nice because they’re like hey this dog is really cute and really small and he’s a baby and a puppy so he’ll probably be passed on to the rescue and which I like that

If your looking to surrender an animal, regardless of the reason why, they have a waiting list. So check first and check all other avenues available. Good luck

I went here to meet with Milo rescue to hand over a beautiful husky/border collie I had been fostering. When the driver arrived i was told i wasnt the only pick up. About 7 dogs n a cat were being picked up from the shelter for hopes to find a furever home. The dogs that were walked out i have to say were some of the happiest from lil ones to huge ones. The staff were very nice, professional and you could just tell the animals were very well taken care of.

There was starving horses at a facility ! I called them back because they never called back and horses were good weight ummm, very bone in the body was showing, horses were fed straw, yeah it was a boarding facility most horses were in good shape, but the only stuck in the pen at the very side of the facility about 7 horses, starving, bones were popping out, how is that even good ?????? Please go back and look at the horses in the side that are (starving) and not in the barn. I talked with the guy who owned them and they said he cant afford them he threw a little (straw) in the pen each day. Please go back and see those starving horses on the side and stop looking at the healthy ones in the barn! ( on the side of the facility) (starving skinny horses) (neglect) thanks

This shelter is a no-kill shelter I make donations to support it its clean the people work there they feed the animals well treated well I like the place

They lie they burned my dog and lied to my family that day saying he was not there and he was and they did not scan his chip and mixed his ashes with other dogs

Called this morning in need of assistance, was greeted by a very unprofessional rude lady. I just hung up and handled the situation myself. This was the 1st and last time I call the sheriffs dept for anything.

Front desk is very rude when I dropped off a stray/feral cat. Unnecessary. Just trying to do the right thing.

Sadly had to take our dog in to get euthanize, he had killed our other small dog, but informed us that they were full, but took him anyways.

My dog got lost somebody found him went to the animal shelter gave them a picture of him filled out of paper with his contact information and said if anybody came in looking for him to give them the contact information so they can claim their dog about an hour after he left there I went to the animal shelter to look for my dog show them a picture of my dog and the lady in there was very rude very unprofessional told me to fill out a Lost Pet form and that they wouldnt call me if he came in so it was pointless to fill out the form and then snatched it out of my hand as she was mumbling walking away
