I have never in all the states I have lived seen a state that takes literally 2 months to give an individual with a family food stamps. The people that work for DFACS are stealing company time because really they not doing anything and just got they feet kicked up while you and your family starve. Any other place I’ve lived I’d literally and not figurative get stamps in 1 day. Application, card, stamps all in one day. I’ve have never seen a more unprofessional and out of date place than Georgia.

I have never been involved with the State. Trying to adopt three abused Grandchildren. This has been a nightmare. These kids were abused by the Foster Parents as well as the biological Parents. Good luck with getting the State to move in a timely manner.

Waited 8 months to recieve foodstamp help claimed didnt recieve info but did then when finally did get approved they didnt give all months back they should have oh and was told theres no emergency foodstamps while waiting for approval which i found out was a lie not much help at all so ty for lil assistance in middle of pandemic

Its listed as a food stamp office but it is 150% not. They dont want you to receive your government benefits you have to call a different number this is not it.

My husband has tried to get in touch with his case worker, Ms. Carter, she lied to him and now she will not take his calls and her mailbox is full so you cant leave a message. I wish they could hire people that would actually do their job. Theres no help for him in the state of Georgia. And no one to report it to either.

I am very disappointed in the service. I have a very important matter to discuss with someone, yet Ive tried everything number I could find and left a number of messages with no return call. I know there may be a delay due to Covid, but I have been calling over the past 3 weeks. It would be nice if someone could return my call since I cant go to the office.

They do not care about the ppl of GA for real. If I could give no stars I would. If you need help in GA do not count on your government that you pay your taxes to. They cut you off for no reason, say they are going to call at a certain time they call you a totally different day and time and say you missed the appt. I submitted my verification online and they said I didnt. The contact number they have listed on the papers they send out are disconnected or fake. L. Scott has supposedly been my caseworker for years never heard from her and can never reach her.

They should have the appointments and you send the papers in and they send you a letter you did not renew your benefits. Dont answer the phone calls put you on hold for a long time.

I have called the Decatur location so many times. Maybe and I said maybe Ill get someone to answer the phone. When they do they will give me a case worker number to call. My case was closed in November on the gateway website. I was told I would be mailed a copy because they dont do emails or fax....OK. Still here we are almost February and I havent received it yet. I have verified that its closed by phone but my so call case worker Mrs. Stewart seems to have not put it in the system yet. I have had the call center email her many times about this and it still hasnt been done. So I guess I have to just wait untill she feels the need to get it done. Why is it that people has to suffer because the employees dont do their job in a timely manner. Me and my children had no food for the holidays, no Medicaid when they got sick and I have to pay out of pocket because things arent done in a timely manner. I guess you all feel because we qet state help our lives arent important.Well I work just like you all, I pay taxes just like you all and if your to lazy to do your job.... PLEASE QUIT! People are suffering because of your inconsistent ways! Let someone else that wants to help do the Job. Because obviously there is a bad selection of employees at all Dekalb county Offices including Corporate. And upgrade your system please its waaayyyy behind. People arent doing paper hardly anymore. Make it convenient for the people your suppose to be helping.

Call call call day after day still no answer or call back from them. they say they will put information in the system and they will call you back but never do,you go in to ask to speak to someone they say you cant they will put it in the system and someone will call you back same story bullshit! so next I advise people to call the city and have them investigate every employee and supervisors to see whats really going on. I believe there hiding something and stealing government money for their household.

Security guards in lobby, one named Kim was so very helpful. I needed to speak personally to state government representative. She was able to reach someone who is now assisting me. Would not have happened without Kim. Beyond what I expected. So very thankful.

Family Services? Family Division is a better title. They enforce division which requires attorneys to bring people to the table to work things out. All my family wanted was a chance to talk. Attorneys for both sides wanted $2,500 each. Long County is horrible. Wish I could give a negative rating instead of a star. People giving 5 stars must work there since there are no comments attached

Instead of informing me that I must apply for Medicaid at the social security office because social security pays for my Medicaid not DFCS, they just denied my Medicaid application and caused me to go into medical debt

They combined my Medicaid case with someone that assumed my kids and i lived with. Now there saying even though they were at fault i have to reapply and it could take 30 days. This is the worst most corrupt system Ive ever dealt with. The employees here are unprofessional and rude for no reason. You have multiple people sitting there just to hand out a number so you can sit and wait for your number to be called. Having long lines for all the extra nonsense and two people at the window actually working. By the way I have epilepsy and I have to take my medicine everyday and since I have to medicine due to no Medicaid I havent taken my medicine in almost a week. Ive had 4 seizures since then. FYI this is the Marietta Ga location not Atlanta they have more common sense over there and are more organized.

So far the service I have experienced has been non existent. They go on vacation before getting back in contact with you while you starve. I hope their vacation was relaxing and they ate well while I slowly die of starvation and stress.

The most unprofessional people I have ever dealt with in my life. I pay $400.00 a week!!! YES A WEEK in child support. The have suspended my license 6 times in 2 years for absolutely zero reason child support comes from my check every week. And has never not been taken out. And when I contact them they talk to you as if your a murder on death row the rudest people ever.

The government, in general, are so biased, whereas people whom are DISABLED, are put on the back burner. This is why I dont vote, and never will. Theyre giving most of the funding to WOMEN WITH CHILDREN. Its bad enough that people are battling chronic diseases, with no cure. But people whom are truly sick, their funding is limited from Social Security as it is. Then DUMBASS, DCFS, chooses to give a disabled person anywhere from $15-$50 monthly. Yet, they give $800-$900 in food stamps to women, just because they have MULTIPLE CHILDREN, FROM DIFFERENT MEN, OUT OF WEDLOCK. Many of these women sell their stamps for money. But yet our DUMBASS government, continues to support irresponsible women. So just let sick people die, whom cannot afford to eat healthy! Im not talking about ALL women, with children, only the sorry, lazy ones. Its not Americas job to take care of other peoples kids. WELFARE is a necessity, NOT A CAREER!

I am a former foster parent and have 6 great adopted kids.Kristi Redding - Kristi has overseen 2 cases and I have had a hard time getting any or accurate information from her. She is often secretive and deceptive and used tactics like saying that she has concerns but when asked what they are she is unable to tell you. On several occasions she would say that other DFCS employees didn’t do their jobs. Kristi told me I mishandled a situation but couldn’t tell me how I had mishandled it. She often brought up taking the kids in an effort to scare me and my kids. Kristi said that she would file to take custody of the kids if my abusive spouse returned home but when I emailed a safety plan to protect the kids in case my spouse did return she called me and denied saying that she would take custody if they returnd. When she questioned my kids, she told them to keep secrets from me and others and that is what my abusive now ex-spouse would tell them to hide the abuse. Kristi told me that kids can’t get triggered by therapy and that couldn’t cause an outburst since it makes them better. My spouse was going to sign their rights over which is what my teens wanted but Kristi advised her that it she should not give her rights up. Kristi advocated for my spouse to return home when 4 of 6 kids were in fear of their safety if she returned. Kristi placed false information against me on the child abuse registry and when I point this out to her she defended what she did and wasn’t willing to even look at the facts which I offered to provide. Kristi stated to me that she would lose her job if she didn’t substantiate against me since there was a false criminal charge. She also admitted that she found no evidence against me to substantiate at the forensic interviews and that if my charge was dropped she had nothing against me and I had a good case to appeal. My charge was dismissed and my name has been removed after the appeal. According to my 13-year-old when Kristi questioned her at school Kristi blamed her behavior for the DFCS report that led to the new investigation. My child told kristi the incident was triggered by therapy and explained how upset she was with the therapist Kristi said that she was friends with the therapist and she wouldn’t have said anything that would have upset her. This Invalidated my child’s feelings and made her feel worse. When my child arrived home, she was frantic and unstable due to being triggered and unfortunately tried to cut her arms to feel better. By the next morning she was getting worse emotionally and was hospitalized for 5 days.Shannon Kirby - I have had 2 cases with Shannon and she was involved in one other investigation. She has been reasonable, fair and straight forward with me and my kids. I appreciated her professionalism and direct communication. She was on time and responded to my calls and concerns quickly. My kids like her and she worked well with the kids.Kelly – I have had one interaction with Kelly when a false accusation was made against my family. My kids liked her she seemed to work well with them during a stressful situation. She wasn’t familiar with our legal code but she was receptive and once we showed her on nolo that we had not broken any laws and the kids were safe and happy she was accommodating and understanding.Jay Minor – I have had a few conversations with Jay where I voiced concerns. Jay was professional and prompt in his response. He answered my questions directly and help clarify some confusion. He had to speak with one of my teens during an investigation and she said he was nice and she didn’t mind talking to him (she is often fearful of men so a positive experience was great).Kendal Martin – Kendal returns emails and calls promptly and has given accurate information. She is friendly and has effectively directed me to the appropriate people in DFCS when she doesn’t have the answers.Steven Hall – Steven was very knowledgeable and helpful. He was able to help guide me through the process of applying for some assistance.

Worst customer service I have ever experienced. IF you get them on the phone, they hang up on you if they dont feel like answering your questions. On the off chance their mailbox isnt full they dont return your call and the rest of the time their mailbox is full and you cant even leave a message.Fail!Btw i applied in june, its now november, ive called my case worker 3 dozen times, left messages, she lied to me 1 time i talked to her one the phone and never heard back. Her supervisor doesnt answer, also doesnt return calls, their auditor called me said idk whats going on back in august, said they didnt even complete my information in the system and now shes awoll! Wont return my calls, answering maching is full 9 out of 10 times i call!

DFCS is a complete joke. They will give help to the people who can get out and get a job or the people who continue to pop out children so they will have a increase in benefits. This is so unfair. The people who REALLY need help cant get it. I was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian and peratienal cancer and was denied medicade because I am not pregnant. I had to wait for 2 years before Medicare became active. So in the meantime I had NO medical or prescription coverage. And because I receive disability I am give only $13 a month in food stamps. What the hell can you buy for $13?¿??? NOTHING!I have to pay my rent, light bill, copay for doctors and prescriptions, car insurance, phone bill, water etc.... Sure after all my bills on a limited income Ill be fine getting groceries. Haha what a joke. My husband is out of work now because he was in a horrible car accident and broke his neck. Still no help from DFCS. Guess Im the wrong color.

Long lines expect to be here one to two hours. The staff seems to want to help but other staff seemed not to want to help. Sometimes its a waste of time to take a trip on the bus to come to this location. But four people were disabilities they came to get us in and out fast.
