I have had EarthLink internet 1 year so far. I have had zero problems with them as a provider. Stellar clarity and speed in the connectivity. The customer service experience was nothing but pleasant and helpful.

DONT DO IT! JUST TO UPGRADE MY SERVICE IT TOOK 10 DAY... NOT SO FAST AFTER ALL! WHY PAY HORRIBLE RATES WITH EARTHLINK.. I advise you to take your money to some place that youre going to be valued and have excellent service. Earthlings customer service is the only thing good about the company!

I called Earthlink today to ask if the company provides internet in my area. To call their behavior deceptive would not accurately reflect the outright lies and illegal actions. Earthlink claims to have better customer service than other internet companies. That would not be difficult to achieve, and it would have been greatly appreciated, but the companys behavior today was at least equal to if not much lower than what consumers have come to expect from internet providers. This company has proven itself to be entirely untrustworthy. Initially, I was told that 12 mbps was just as fast as 200 mbps because it was fiber cable, not coaxial cable. I was told that I agree to the terms before I was read the terms. I insisted that I had not agreed to the terms, because I didnt know what they were. When I was finally read the terms, I had to stop the salespersons reading at breakneck speed after each sentence and ask her to repeat so that I could understand. After the second or third sentence, I said, I dont agree to that. As she continued, I continued to say that I didnt agree, but she continued to disregard what I said.I was able to record the second part of the conversation with permission. Earthlink continued to disregard what I said. I said slowly and clearly, I - do - NOT - want - Earthlink. I - do - NOT - agree - to - the - terms. The response was, OK. Im so sorry about that. I really do apologize for any misunderstanding. So, Ill just charge you half the installation fee. I repeated, I - do - NOT - want - Earthlink. I - do - NOT - agree - to - the - terms. Again, the response was, I really do apologize for any misunderstanding. Thats all it was: a misunderstanding. We would just provide you with free installation basically. Again, I - do - NOT- want - Earthlink.I dont think that these people are idiots. I believe that this behavior is sanctioned, if not required, by Earthlink. I have no reason to change to a different internet provider in order to pay a higher price for slower speeds and continue to be treated with complete disregard.------------------------------------The Earthlink response appears to be meaningless. First, the same response verbatim seen on many other reviews across different platforms and over time. Nothing has changed. Not that I had actually thought it would. But it gets worse. I complained and insisted so much that I that Earthlink said it would give me back my money, but it would take three days. When that didnt happen, I was told that it would take seven days. Of course, that didnt happen either. Now, the bank is trying to get the money back. Earthlink lies. This company has proven itself to be the lowest of the low.

I was a customer just under 6 months when we had to move. The service at the previous location was as advertised and we were very happy with it. Upon moving they did not offer the same speed we had been accustomed to and so they waived the early termination fee. The price at both locations was comparable to other providers in the area and had they offered higher bandwidth at the new house wed have used them again.

They take your mone and then cancel the install and debit every other month when no service was installed... when you call they can’t find any record of you! Had to change bank accounts to stop them

If there is a ZERO rating I would give that.Worst customer service. Called once and given options “like the older days, only given over the phone as their website never says what’s the rate”. Someone promised to call back in 2 days to follow up but never did.I called few days back after I got other providers options, because I honestly forgot their rate, and the person was like “this is the second time you are calling and still want to think about it” in a VERY RUDE WAY. AND IMMEDIATELY HANG UP THE LINE ON ME.I wish you have a recorded line and company can look up that and teach that employee a lesson.It happened just now at 2:50 pm Mountain standard time, on June 18th...

Absolutely horrible. You can tell what kind of company it is when the only responses from the owner are commenting on the 2 positive responses. It is intentionally bad customer service.I will begin May 25th at the point when I wanted to try their service because I was tired of dealing with the big cable companies to get internet. I called in and realized that their fastest internet was not available at my area but the sales person told me that I could try their fastest available service at my location (45 mbps) and if I was not satisfied with the speed I could cancel the service and not pay any type of cancellation fee. They also assured me that the 45 mbps speed was plenty fast for streaming multiple devices/working from home.Literally the moment I get off of the phone ordering the 45 mbps service, I log on to my new account and it says I have the 24 mbps service, so I call Earthlink immediately back up to tell them that my account is showing the wrong service. They tell me that, for some reason which they couldnt really explain, that they had to install the 24 mbps service before they could upgrade my speed to the 45 mbps. I almost canceled right there, but against my best judgement I said ok come install the service then upgrade it.After having the lower speed service installed, I check my account and it still says I have the 24 MBPS service so I call back the day it was installed to see when it will be upgraded. They say 3 to 10 business days.Two months later (July 23rd, see the string of text messages about updating my speed in the pictures) and several long phone calls I finally get the 45 mbps speed. I tried it out for about 1 week, and was unhappy with the speed because we experienced buffering while streaming with just one device and it was not fast enough for remoting into my work computer without serious lag.I called to cancel the service and I am told that I have to now pay a $200 dollar cancellation fee because I have had the 24 mbps service (which is not the speed I ordered)for longer than a month. I am livid because of all of this wasted time and the fact that they are trying to charge me to cancel when they told me I could try out the service without paying a cancellation fee. About 4 hours on the phone later I am not anywhere closer to them waiving this $200 fee.

Horrible service! Website not user friendly! You cant understand what the no customer service rep is saying.....Not enough value for the money spent. and its a hassle when your trying to cancel service. They only got 1 star because I had to choose a star to submit my post. Otherwise, they wouldnt have gotten this one.

Im online right now with them and they are just ignoring me about my billing issue. Im usually sweet to them, but after three years of being double billed, wrongly debited, deactivated,reactivated and charged for it, charged for equipment I didnt order, and charged for being late, be cause they rejected a good card. Im tired. Im not getting offline until someone fixes this problem. Its been over an hour and a half.

The worst company I’ve ever worked with ! Absolutely horrible customer service and even worst management! I was promised an installation price by an SUPERVISOR that was never honored in addition I’ve been trying to schedule my relocation for 3 weeks and as customer service professionals they were EXTREMELY rude and disrespectful and every phone call as the matter escalated the customer service gets worst ive been continuously disrespected and completely ignored there’s complete disregard for the huge delay being caused to my other installs by not having WiFi installed as yet . Not to mention I can’t even secured my property because my cameras can not work with WiFi . This is by far the most disrespectful customer service experience, I have never had such an difficult and disrespectful experience( and I work in H.R in a very busy hospital) . Plan to escalate this matter further . Currently Waiting for responses from vp and ceo . It’s a sad situation because as this matter escalated I expected professionals and in actuality the customer service got worst .

Worst provider ever...dont use them they try to take multiple withdrawals out your account...constant calls all times of the day over $5...will disconnect you over $5 and expect you to reconnect for triple. This company is a joke the customer service is horrible. I never rate anyone but this company is a SCAM and needs to be reported for bad business.

I purchased a business two months ago and needed to change my accounts Time Warner and Central Maine Power were excellent. EarthLink is still making me jump through hoops, I am dealing with multiple people telling me something different every time I call. The business has had the number for years but I will cancel them if I can just to get rid of EarthLink.

Horrible company, they have a very misleading not user friendly website. They lie and trick customer to sign up and provide extremely low speed and then tell them to upgrade to a higher speed at a much higher price. Total scam. What a waste of my time I had to cancel the service same day when I found out with HyperLink ill only be getting 3 MGPS speed? and only 2.4Gh band.On top of that their technical support and customer service is handled by some call center in India the communication is terrible, they waste your time by passing to different people and not helpful at all. I do not recommend this company! These guys need to be reported to a watchdog or consumer protection agencies.

This is the absolute worst garbage company I have ever dealt with. After countless hours on the phone with India 6 hours to be exact five separate times trying to get the right address was supposed to be 18mbps ended up tech told me Im only able to get 6mbps three days off work then only to be told by Steve jones and David lee (probably fake names) that it would be another ten to twelve days before they could reschedule service tech to come back thats after the 22 days Ive already waited and three days of missed work. I mean what a joke so I canceled well see if I get my money back. I cant even fathom how this place is in business and furthermore why att would advocate for them. I mean I literally knew more about what was going on than anyone at this company. DO NOT DO IT. Promise it will be the single biggest waste of your time and effort trying to deal with these clowns. If I could give them zero stars that would be to good of a rating for EarthLink. -20 stars

This is the worst business on this planet. I would give 0 stars if I could. They are crooks. Calls all lead to India. I asked to speak to an American located in the USA and was denied. Their internet spead is terrible. Customer service is horrible. All they will do is give ticket numbers. We have been a customer for 12 years and unfortunately I signed a contract to get some money off our account because it went up over 700 the last few years. I tried cutting off one phone line and they force you to pay the entire contract. They dont give a hoot about being a customer. Run run far away. Terrible customer service. I cant wait to disconnect.

The worst service in America. We are a company with 31 employees who live and die with the phone. Weve been down over 24 hrs and still have no hope. Terrible about returning calls. Enept! Everytime I call I get a different story.

Opened my account 15 years ago, and the last digits of my credit card number changed two years ago. three days ago they blocked my account for non-payment and told me they do not have my credit card number. i offered to give them my new, last five digits but they insist they need the whole number. a scam? i dont know, but im not going to give anyone all my credit card info on the phone after theyve debited the card approximately 180 times. account closed.

Horrible experience with this company, i called dish for services and they offered me internet services i said yes to that 14.99 a month not bad right ?? sooo i gave my card info to dish the man said he will not charge the card at all i trusted them ., next thing i see a charge from earth link for 19.95 i called and they said it was the activation fee . its been 3 weeks and they have not call me back or give me an appointment for activation, i called several times and they dont speak clear English and they dont know what they doing horrible customer service, please do not trust this company !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
