Brought two 16yr Olds. I dont like that you cant just pay for an hour or two. The kids were there for 1st time and had no idea how to use their time. Werent sure how to climb properly. No workers around to assist beginners. Wouldnt go back. Not worth the kids wandering around with no clue how to utilize the climbing structures. If you know how to rock climb already, looks to be a fun place with lots of climbing options.
Good setting and a neat space. Friendly staff. A little pricy for bouldering only, and weirdly missing any terrain over 45 degree overhanging. The setting could have had a bit more easy, dynamic, big big jug routes.
Place is great and has a great bouldering wall and slab wall. The gym is one floor down in the basement of a business building and can be hot in the summer.A plus is that the parking garage is attached to the building so you wont have to risk going into Atlanta by yourself.Only one con that everyone I talk to has is that the parking only covers two hours. But its only a 4 dollar fee after the two hours.Overall this gym is great if you can handle Atlanta traffic and your a careful driver.
Premier route setters, excellent staff and friendly gym members. Its far and away the best place for bouldering in Atlanta.
Love it here. Great variety of routes. The weight section is fantastic. And the staff is incredible.
Bouldering-only climbing gym. Friendly and awesome staff. Fresh routes each week. Excellent route setting .
One of my favorite bouldering only gyms. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. The weight room is smaller but has all the high quality equipment you need including box racks, bumper weights, and a platform.
It only offers bouldering, but has more than enough bouldering problems to make it worthwhile. I usually spend around 2-3 hours here and still cant get enough!
Awesome place to climb everyone is super welcoming and willing to help
Great bouldering gym, I climb here at least once a week. Theres always fun problems set and the staff is super friendly and helpful.
Pretty cool place. The staff and customer were all pretty friendly.
It was my first time. I will definitely be back.
Super chill. Nice to get in a boulder session on some interesting problems
Usually climb at their Kennesaw location, but wanted to try this one out too. This location only had bouldering (which is a positive or a negative depending on who you are.) It’s smaller than most of the climbing gyms I’ve been to, but there are plenty of routes packed in, and the people here are really friendly. Definitely would recommend to people who want to boulder - no matter your skill level.
Horrible customer service and could not do multiple tasks of helping me and other customers. Sad really. And, they wouldn’t sell me a pair of shoes for climbing Bc they literally couldn’t figure out how to help me with one associate and then have another manager help the people at the front of the store.
Something about an underground climbing gym makes me happy. ^_^
In my experience, Stone Summit gyms have the best routes and problems
I love Stone Summit Midtown, great problems, awesome bouldering. The staff are always really friendly too. Also really happy they are taking covid-19 seriously with mask requirement, capacity restrictions, and hand sanitizer throughout the gym.
Very small, only bouldering and filled with nerds, not worth it unless this is your only option for climbing
Great climbing and awesome peg board. Amazing staff. A nice fitness room with pull up bars, weights, treadmills, etc; really fun boulders and a nice slab. Its a little hard to find but once you get there it is amazing.
Open during Covid by reservation. Clean and comfortable small bouldering gym.
Love me some stone summit climbing
Small spot located in the basement with only bouldering and no top rope. Because of the name I expected a much bigger place. Gym is small but nice and staff was friendly.
Great gym for bouldering. They reset sections of the wall each week, have a good variety of routes from beginner to more advanced, and even validate parking (2 hours).
Hidden underneath a business building, this small climbing gym is a cool spot for those looking to get away from the city streets for a bit. Despite its size, the routes were plentiful and a good mix of varying degrees of difficulty. It was quiet, and the staff were friendly! Because it just opened, the rental shoes were quite stiff, and if you can, I would recommend bringing your own climbing shoes. No top-rope, only bouldering.
I am somewhat new at climbing and was nervous that I would stand out and be embarrassed. That was not the case at all! The staff do a really good job of not talking down to you when you say something stupid, the people that go there are friendly and non-judgmental, and the courses are really nicely setup so you can have a great time no matter what skill level you are.
Fun place!
Climbing at Stone Summit is such an incredible experience, and this new gym located conveniently in midtown makes it so much more accessible. Absolutely fantastic climbing gym, with a variety of different walls, and a stellar barbell weightlifting gym to boot!Park behind the building in the garage (its a bit hard to find right now) -- they validate for 2 hours.
I started climbing 2 years ago at SSA. I live in O4W and this location is closer. I love the community that has been built at this location. Everyone is supportive and positive. The gym that is attached has all the equipment I need for supplemental workouts. The setters do a great job creating challenging and creative problems. I would definitely recommend this location for beginners and experienced climbers alike!
Great bouldering gym with super friendly staff and good setting. Nice and quiet compared to most climbing gyms. Coffee bar upstairs to do work / get coffee with friends. They also have a bike locker and they validate 2 hours for parking tickets. :)
A great place for a quick workout, great bouldering routes with a good mix for every level! Slightly crowded in the weekdays after working times 5-8pm but tapers off as night goes on, but super clear in the weekends!
I do most of my climbing at SS Atlanta but wanted to have a different bouldering experience and was not disappointed. The staff was great and I really enjoyed the layout. The settlers do a great job to maximize effieciency for all skill levels. Had a great session and will surely be back in the future. 11/10 would climb again.
Nice and spacious bouldering gym with great variety of problems and interesting setting. Definitely a spot we hit anytime we’re in town
Stone summit midtown is awesome! This gym is bouldering only, but they have a good variety of problems which are rotated every week. Staff are great and pricing is competitive. Highly recommended!
Cool place to get a workout in and and climb on a weekday when you need a break from studying or working. Additionally this is the most urban experience I have ever had in my life. Coffee, a shared work space, apartments upstairs, and a climbing gym in the basement!
Nice slab and boulders. Clean and nice workout equipment/area. Friendly climbers and staff
There couldnt be a safer place to climb during this pandemic. Everyone is taking cleanliness seriously, with mandatory face coverings, social distancing, and hand sanitizing between all climbs. Its open and safe, and the routes and climbing remain superb.
Good gym. Frequent new routes. Good level of beginner stuff, but I wish there were more v5-7 stuff.
If youre a beginner you should probably go to one of the other locations that is not just bouldering. If youre into bouldering this place is awesome. Great staff.
I work in Midtown so this location is extremely convenient for getting in a bouldering session after work. Thursdays get a bit crowded because thats when they set new routes. The crowd is very friendly and supportive.
Awesome to have a midtown location now! Not very beginner friendly but if youre looking for a climbing workout you can get that here.
This place is great and has some of the best route setters here in Atlanta.Would be 5 Stars if the choice in house music wasnt more often than not...so bad (Angsty Emo/ Dub-Step) and if the temperature inside didnt get uncomfortably warm on busier evenings.
Loss of star bc their workout equipment and space is dirty. But great climbing for all levels that gets changed up regularly. Go for the climbing not for the gym. Staff is amicable. 2 hr limit unless you want to pay for parking
Love it here! The community is great and they change up the walls regularly so it never gets old.
Nice bouldering gym. Not huge, but more than enough challenging routes. Maybe not the best choice for complete beginners. Enter through the main door between Spaces and Land of a Thousand Hills and take the elevator down to the lower level.
A great little bouldering gym in the heart of midtown
The one bad review here doesnt seem reasonable. The reviewer said there wasnt enough warning that the gym would be closed during Masters of Midtown, yet their social media and calendars clearly stated that it would be closed the day of the comp. SSM is an amazing facility with a crew of excellent setters and friendly staff.
Excellent bouldering gym! a little hard to find, but once you get there its a great environment! From a climbers perspective, I feel like they did waste a lot of space with the useless super slab wall. A little too slabby if you ask me, and dont put giant holds at the bottom of the wall!
My least favorite of the three locations, the boulders were graded too easy and overall the facility just isnt as appealing as Kennesaw. There were however still nice problems set, and their workout facility is quite nice. If youre in town or around, you should stop by, otherwise, rather go to Kennesaw.
Front desk people didnt really ask about climbing experience or anything like I usually have at other climbing gyms. They recently updated their system or something and the waiver I filled in online had to be filled out again. The V0 and V1s seemed a bit harder than I have found at other gyms but definitely doable.
As usual stone summit makes quality climbing gyms that have great setting and staff. Although the space is smaller that the other gyms they make great use of the space for bouldering.
Of all three SS gyms, I think this one is my second favorite over all, but my favorite for bouldering. The walls are so technical and there is a lot of slab options. The bouldering walls are smaller than what they have elsewhere but it’s in the basement of this coworkimf building (called spaces). They also share their space with a 1000 hills coffee - which definitely entices me to go there sometimes. The parking is annoying though. You have to pay to park in this very cramped parking deck that occasionally shares it spaces with the Fox theater events... Stone summit will validate your parking pass for 2 hours and saves you $8. But I still end up paying $1-$2. Which isn’t a lot. But it’s annoying...
Used to climb at SS Atlanta and have been to Kennesaw a few times, and this one is equally as good as the other ones even with the lack of rope climbing. The side gym is awesome with a lot of crossfit equipment (barbels, bumpers, jungle gym, dumbbells, boxes etc.). Would come again if it wasnt so far from me! Also, the gym is in the BASEMENT of the building. Take the elevators in the lobby of the tower to get down.
Always a challenge, clean, and love they have validated and covered parking!
Great bouldering spot in the middle of the city.
Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Great routes and grades that get changed frequently
Bouldering only. Many routes at different levels. Smaller than the other two stone summit gyms, but the location is convenient.
I am a member here and it is easily one of the best places to climb. Convenient and offers a wide variety of problems
Friendly staff, friendly climbers, fun bouldering! The gym is surprisingly great! They have bumper plates and plenty of bars
Stone Summit midtown is a great facility for rock climbing. Not crowded usually and problems get updated regularly to add variety and value
Wonderful gym. Very friendly staff and a great climbing culture.
I prefer to boulder and the Midtown location seems to be a little less crowded than Atlanta.
I enjoy bouldering from time to time. Much prefer this to the one in Norcross.
Awesome place to boulder at lunch! Super modern and fun little routes.
Good bouldering. Nice routes with nice holds. No big variety in the styles (steep walls with physical moves) but worth a visit if you travel to Atlanta. I climbed very early 6am thanks to jetlag so it was not very crowdy... bon accueil
Great bouldering gym with very kind and helpful staff members.
Good gym. Small and hella expensive compared to my old gym in chicago. Stupid hours as well if you pay monthly.
I climb 5.10000 on plastic things. Sick bro brah khu.
Nice walls and fun to climb. Only bouldering though.
Great climbing, safe covid environment!
Best gym in Atlanta, so many big walls and the bouldering room is so much fun.
Best little spot for strength training and bouldering - training focused - not crowded
Convenient bouldering right in midtown
Awesome climbing gym with very friendly and helpful staff!
Great facility, plenty of problems on the bouldering section, and also plenty of great routes on the high walls for the sport/toprope climbers
Love bouldering here. Great vibe.
Solid bouldering gym w/ a good fitness gym. Parkings a little inconvenient but otherwise cant complain.
Great in town Boulder only gym. New problems set weekly
My son went to this camp and he had a horrible experience. He kept crying saying one of the guy instructors was extremely mean and hurt his feelings. I decided to take my son out early because of this experience and I emailed the camp director about getting a refund and never got a response.
Great location, excellent setting, lovely fellow climbers.
Just bouldering.. finding the gym after parking can be a bit of a puzzle..
Approachable bouldering gym
Closes for competition with very little notice. Call before you waste your time getting there to make sure they’re open. Not worth making a second attempt with so many other options.
They have climbing walls, so thats a plus
Can sometimes be crowded and grades are VERY soft.
Great for bouldering
Great value, clean facility
Fun
