Their website claims they have wheelchair accessible cars but I called a few times before a recent trip and they gave me quite a runaround the with several versions of we dont book in advance, we dont have anyone to drive them to theyre all booked up to etcetera so on and so forth and on and on. I call it bad service and BS.Google needs to check their info.

Driver argued with me about not answering phone. Cane late. When told I did not want service, they called every night. Even called in day time, 10 am. Wanted nightly 10 pm pick up. Not very pleased or impressed.

Ordered a taxi for pick up at hotel at 530am!! They called at 5:25am to tell me they have no taxis. I called three days pior and reconfirmed my pick up the day before and still!! Thank you uber. If you want to miss your flight go with these guys

Called the night before departing flight to reserve pickup for 5am. Was told driver would call me when on their way. I called 10 minutes before 5am to check on status since nobody called. Automated system recognized my phone number and indicated they were searching for a driver to assign and I was 6th in line. Finally hung up after 10 minutes on hold because found alternative transportation with Uber. Completely unreliable and would have missed flight had I depended on Atlanta Cab. UNACCEPTABLE to not show up for ride to airport!

This taxi company is similar to Uber..respond very quickly I told the dispatcher the time I wanted to be picked up and he was right on time. Very courteous and polite driver and I was able to call this same driver for my return trip. Will use this service again.
Scheduled a cab a day ahead of time for an appointment for post kidney transplant checkup so I couldnt drive. When they were 10 minutes late I called and was told that they were still looking for an available cab. This company is absolute trash.

My company offers guaranteed ride home and o needed to take a ride home. The first experience the driver argued with me on the route to take. He ended up getting lost and asked me if the area looked familiar. I ended up using my google maps to get home. The ride normally takes 30 mins took an hour. File a complaint and was assured the driver would be pulled from my company’s account.Ok and behold The following week I needed to take a ride and to my HORROR got the same driver. He started asking for my name and started ridding his voice that I asked why and proceed to argue why would I get into a ride if I don’t know the driver. Then proceeded to tell me his transmission may go out and hope he can make it to the designation. Yellow checkered cabs offer the WORST service and drivers.

Atlanta Checker Cab did a great job for me. THANK YOU. I was reading the bad reviews for them and I called the dispatcher and told her. The driver she sent was as good of a driver as I have ever seen, a man from Haiti who arrived directly, was good natured, and mainly drove in a direct and super smart way. He was completely excellent. I do a lot of driving and I admire his skill- great driver. So, for me, Atlanta Check Cab did a great job #1. Thank you and wishing for everyone to have such excellent service as I received.
The ride from our hotel to the zoo was fine, with a pleasant conversation with the driver. Unfortunately, we waited for more than an hour outside for a return trip that never came with two tired kids and an exhausted senior citizen because none of the independent contractors would deign to come and get us. We finally gave up and called an Uber. Atlanta should deny their contract when it is up for renewal.

Wow! I live less then two miles from their office and have used them in the past without an issue. Yet I was given attitude by Jennifer 3/29/2019 that if my expectation was for them to arrive on time and allow for the road closure that I could in effect keep my expectation. No doubt she did not give me her real name but I told her I will take my business elsewhere. I can car an app service if I want someone with no ownership of picking me up on time
Absolutely the cheapest and nastiest cabs youve ever been in. The owners dont pay their mechanics hardly anything or have any incentive for them to do a good job and these are the vehicles we use to commute thousands of people every week. The drivers are rude af and will literally leave you stranded if they dont like you. I wouldnt advise calling them, call Lyft or Uber or take MARTA.

Very fast response and very friendly conversation from drivers, both to and from picking up my car from the shop. I cant speak to the bad reviews; maybe my experience was better because it was during off-peak. Dispatch can be hard to hear, and auto system robot voice trying to read back your location of last pick up is impossible to understand. Auto system should also have a command to go straight to ordering pickup first thing, without having to hear all the other options.
Long wait for cab. Watched the cab I ordered drive past the hotel. Thought it missed the drive. 30 minutes later and it still never got here. I wouldnt use unless its free from the airport
Website disabled. Got transferred to a number that disconnected shortly after transferring. Cab number 0166 was in the middle lane doing 50 mph (impeding traffic) in a 65mph zone with traffic flowing at 65-70 mph no moving over to the right.

Today I must have called at least three different cab companies, to no avail. These guys were not only at my pick up point within 20 minutes, but the driver Gerald, we very nice and helpful. He knew where I was going and got me there fast. Will use these guys for all my cab needs from now on.
NEVER USE THIS TAXI SERVICE! I called Atlanta Checker Cab for an immediate pick up and the operator told me the cab would be at my location in 10 minutes. 30 minutes go by and there is no cab in sight so I call the company back to ask where the cab is. I get put on hold for about 5 minutes and when the operator finally answers she hangs up in my face while I am mid-sentence inquiring about the taxi that should have picked me up 20 minutes prior. I am beyond agitated at this point and I call back again. When the operator answers I explain the situation to her while letting her know that I urgently need a cab and her response is Well it looks like someone already got the cab that was assigned to you. I will try my best to get another cab out to you as soon as possible. I thank her profusely and continue waiting. Another 20 minutes go by and it becomes apparent to me that the taxi is not going to show up. At this point I decide to call a different taxi company. And that is how I got stuck waiting in the pouring rain for over an hour. Thanks Atlanta Checker Cab, you successfully made my day a living hell.

Unprofessional, was given an ETA of 20 mins on 2 separate calls, and an ETA of 2 mins on another call.....after waiting approximately 15 mins for what should have been 2 mins, I called to cancel. ...waited over almost 2 hours before I just called and cancelled. The cab showed up as soon as the ride I called showed up. The drivers are inconsiderate and ALWAYS late. I highly recommend just uber getting in a LYFT........I have never received exceptional service......its always terrible
Sept 4th 2019 I was picked up by ATL checker cab at Emory university hospital midtown Atlanta Cab Number 36, driver was extremely nice, was concerned about my comfort, asking several times if I was to hot or to cold, the ride was around 42 miles and the driver drove with safety his top priority, I couldnt have been happier with the experience.
Waited for two hours, dispatched called me up and told me to call another cab company because there werent any can available, bit clearly I could see on my GPS app that cabs where only 10 minutes away from me but they were posted at hotels to get trips there for the money, I called dispatch up about the situation again that cabs are just sitting there and can you have one to get me and they said no, the cab driver has the choice of picking you up or not. Dont use this cab company, your wasting your time.
I never use the word ghetto to describe anything, but the word fits this cab company perfectly. The dispatcher was ghetto, service is ghetto, all of it. They had my family waiting for over an hour. And when confronted, we were told, no cabs were available. What?!!! Then they told me to call Yellow Cab. Do yourself a favor, dont call Checker Can at all.

I called a cab for a friend at work. I asked them to call me when they arrived. So they call and say they are here. She went outside, no cab. Called back and they put me on hold for over 5 minutes. called back, they said they ordered another cab and that cab passes us and we have to walk to get to him and then I told him what happened and he didnt even apologize. I made a reservation yesterday afternoon for a handicap accessible cab to arrive at noon today. I got a call at11:45 saying the driver was on his way. It is12:40 and they have not arrived. My appointment is at 1:00!! When I called the company, they hung up before I spoke. Called again and they said it would be 10 minutes. What the hell? I shouldn’t have to tip for 50 minutes late. The only reason I used Checker was because Uber doesn’t have handicap accessible cabs in my city. I guess my grandma will have to wait another week and half to get her wheelchair fixed because it looks like I’ll have to cancel the appointment.
Horrible ~ the operator hung up on me when I told her there was no street number. I wanted to say I would be standing right outside the gated community gates but never got a chance. When I called back, she didnt even speak to me, just said, Im transferring you to a dispatcher. The dispatcher was equally rude and would not work with me. I waited a whole hour to get picked up. I was in Atlanta on a Friday afternoon needing to be picked up at a train station. There wasnt that much traffic in the city that the time surprisingly, but when I was told that my cab would pick me up within 10 minutes, I waited an hour! I was put on hold for about 10 minutes every time I called the company to ask where my cab was. The operator was apologetic as that one went to the wrong location. He was able to dispatch another, but when that one never came as well, I waited another 10 minutes on the phone for him to send ANOTHER one. It was completely miserable and inconvenient. I thought about calling another company, but I did not have a number for another. The cab that I finally got was quiet, but this was way too much trouble to go 10 miles down the street. I was completely late (when I expected to be early if it was on time) and Im just offended at what kind of service I was offered. STAY AWAY. NOT WORTH THE TROUBLE.
Wow... when you read a review, believe it! This is my first time writing a review for a company. Checker Cab service is terrible! I called to request a cab for my uncle who is on dialysis and has to be at his appointment by 2 PM. I gave the dispatcher his info and explained that is was an apartment complex the driver had to be let into the gate. The dispatcher got an attitude when I offered his apartment number. Then she became even more frustrated when I offered his phone number and name to access the gate code. Aw.. why are you mad at me because Im trying to ensure a successful pick-up for my uncle who is very sick and needs to get to his appointment. I made the decision to cancel the ride and call another company who cares. I refuse to patronize businesses who dont respect my hard earned money! Never again! Beware....
I dont understand the low rating! Ive been using checker cab for years; they have always been fast and the drivers either super nice or at the very least not jerks... Today my driver was Bisi; hes awesome! One of the nicest people Ive had the pleasure of talking to in a while! And he got me home suprisingly quickly in the middle of rush hour.

I am an Atlanta Native,who happens to be middle aged and physically challenged. My experiences with Checkers, have always been superior. Their drivers are always very courteous and professional. I have literally visited manyparts of the world on my personal bucket list while sitting in the back seat of Checkers cabs. I am a firm advocate of public transportation, and I am only interested in who can get me from point A to point B, in the safest and expeditious manner.I would like to personally extend my gratitude to Ms Lakeshia, and Mr. Victor Drake, Special Vehicle Cutomer Reservation Agent, and Manager for your continuing commitment to the highest level of professionalism that people have grown to expect when calling Checkers Cab.May God continue to bless all of you and your families.
Was ok...they do free rides from some hotels downtown to the Atlanta Zoo and back. Didn‘t have any problems. Cars are a little bit old and stuffy but all in all - for a free ride- thank you!

Not only are other companies taking over, but some of the people that you have working for you, might actually be worth something on the open market of this type of SERVICE!! When someone calls ..answer your lines..when you say that you are at a certain location..respond as such..I find it funny and laughable that your employees are upset by other companies undercutting price and cost and value, but YOU can make some of this difference up by BEING O TIME!! Thats in a basic nutshell ..all that YOU are Paid for to do!
Requested a taxi by phone after visiting the aquarium. The driver called within two minutes to confirm location and arrived only a minute or two later. As expected the rate to the airport was the flat downtown fee and the trip didnt take any longer than what GoogleMapd estimated. Overall solid service that I would use again.
I dont know if its possible to add negative stars. I received a call from a driver stating that someone used my information (name & number) to request a cab. I called and waited 20 minutes to get dispatch on the line who spoke over me as I was trying to explain that I needed to find out if someone had used my information before and asked for the original number that they called from. The guy who stated that he was a supervisor HUNG UP on me at 9:58 PM on April 7, 2017. My husband called back and the guy answered and HUNG UP once the call connected to him. I will NEVER use this company simply based on the fact that Im dealing with possible Identity theft and received NO assistance from the people ALLOWING it. The fact the I was hung up on when I wasnt being rude is even more appalling. This company is a NO go. Uber and Lyft are available in Atlanta. Use them.
I called in advance to order a van for my family to go to the airport. When the agreed upon time passed and the cab didnt arrive, I called the dispatcher who connected me to the driver. The assigned driver said he had a small car and couldnt pick us up. The dispatcher then said that she could get me a van but it would take about 20 minutes, which I didnt have. This is the third time that I have had problems with Checker. I wont be using them again.
Let me preface this review by saying that I had a good driver. My trip was short, but he drove safely and we had good banter along the way. That being said, I requested a pick up time from my home at 5:30 am and I wasnt picked up until after 6:30am. I tried calling them back 8 times after I made my initial appointment, and NO ONE answered. I came thisclose to missing my flight. It was a very stressful experience. And I live approximately 5 miles from the airport. I was shocked when my bill came to nearly $20. I will never use their service again.
So Im new to the state of Georgia and have been here maybe a month. I had no idea cab services here could not give estimates. I called this company instead of instead of informing me of this the man said he could not help me and promptly hung up in my face before I could utter another word. I called back to speak with someone else and this same dispatcher would not answer the phone. When he finally did I was going to ask for a supervisor and he told me not to call back and hung up without even letting me speak. This has to be the absolute worse transportation service Ive ever used. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt and try them out a couple times, even after bad experiences. The communication between the dispatch person(s) and drivers is poor, they dont have gps ( i feel bad for people who arent from Atlanta), and theyre late even when you call EARLY to make sure they are on time. I mean really? Atlanta needs a better cab service. Dekalbs is so much better.

I had car trouble and needed a cab almost daily. The first time they came the driver went down a busy street during rush hour even though I asked him not to well 35 min later when my meeting had already started I had to ask the driver to just take me back then he still charged me $25! to go no where!! That should have told me something but I called them over and over to be disappointed each time the next time their driver showed up late saying his GPS was broke and the final straw was when I again missed my meeting because the taxi I had called an hour earlier had STILL NOT ARRIVED I called to find out it was never dispatched! They had transferred me to a manager who could not understand why I was so upset with them since I had just called 10 min earlier according to their records!! When I explained I had called an hour ago he said I was lying cause they had no record of it!! I started screaming at him saying I had my call log to prove it so he rudely said yea okay right well it will be like 35 more minutes then I cursed him out and he told me I would never get a cab again from them. I saw the bad reviews, but I decided to go for it anyway; surely they couldnt screw up taking us five miles down the road to a destination we already knew the exact location of.Well, they never showed up at all. And I scheduled the appointment two days in advance! I also called them prior to the scheduled arrival time to make sure we werent forgotten, but I ended up waiting on hold for 20-something minutes before it disconnected altogether. Then I hung around for 30 minutes after the scheduled time, just in case they were running late. No such luck. Had to change New Years plans because of this company.The whole ordeal was frustrating and a total bummer, but I just feel lucky I didnt have anything legitimately important that I needed to get done- because Checker Cab was certainly NOT going to help me out.

They do not let you know the driver mat or may not show up. That happened 2 times. Avoid this terribly ran and employed taxi service at all costs!
Foreign drivers with no grasp of American Motor Vehicle policy and procedures on the road. No customer service to report that I was nearly hit by one of their retarded drivers. This ignoramus crossed two lanes of traffic almost smashing into me. Luckily, Im not about getting into accidents. I sincerely hope that Lyft and Uber put all taxi cabs out of business. The absolutely worst service. If I would have prayed for worse, this would be them. The driver had countless mishaps and near accidents as I traveled to my destination. If I could give this company ZERO (0) STARS, I would. Never again will I choose them...it would definitely have to be a life or death situation. A driver from checker cab is stalking me and threatening my life. I called them serveral times and they still employe him. They wont give me his name but will let him still harass me

I have been a business owner for more than 30 years and I advise you to Stay away from this company. They act like they do not know the city. They stretch the rate and lie to you about charging for each passenger in the vehicle. Very unprofessional and not trustworthy.
I was all excited with this new Taxi Magic app--I thought a cab was going to pick me up in Sandy Springs in a hurry. But, I was wrong. Its the same aweful taxi company as usual in Atlanta. I never got a cab!! Atlanta Checker Cab get out of the taxicab business!! Your company is a JOKE!! I Checked with Sandy Springs Business office-They dont even have a Taxi Business license to pick up in Sandy Springs. WHAT? IS THAT LEGAL?

I would call at least an hour ahead of time if you would like efficient service. They are located in a busy area peak times are 7-10am.
I try to give people the benefit of the doubt but if you need someone reliable and pleasant to work with, Id look elsewhere. I tried calling ahead and gave the address and name of the hotel and the person told me thats not where my hotel was. But Ive had to make all the reservations, and the numbers are plastered in big shiny numbers on the front of the building, right next to the name of the hotel. (Theres a newly constructed Hotel Indigo on the 200 block of Peachtree, they kept saying there isnt a Hotel Indigo at this address and its on the 600 block - where the old one is). The person ended up getting so frustrated that they got off the phone and someone else picked up but I could hear the original person loudly in the background insulting me because they thought *I* was the ignorant one for not knowing the address of my hotel. The second person was much more pleasant and said theyd send someone and call if they couldnt find the place. But they never got my number *to* call and the car never showed. Luckily a cab was near the hotel from Shalom transportation service, which I hadnt even found on Google. That driver was really nice and got me to the conference center on time for $8.
Ugh! I booked a taxi (at 11:30 AM for a 5:00 PM pickup) through their app from a funeral service to the marta station so that we could make our evening flight from the airport. I received a CONFIRMATION email with all the details so I felt secure knowing that they would be there. I glanced at the app the moment the taxi was supposed to show and it showed CANCELED. ??? I called only to be told they dont service this area. I was transferred to someone else who told me the same thing. Excuse me? The app certainly didnt say that, nor did the CONFIRMATION email showing the addresses and estimated charges. We had to wait another 20 minutes for another cab from another company to pick us up. We were unable to take the marta to the airport and had to spend $80 for that taxi to take us directly to the airport.
Worse cab company of all time. Operators, drivers, etc. Surprised that they can not get it together. Would be a better company if they improved basics. No wonder why Uber is already putting them put of business.Worse case scenario: call yellocab.
Ask them if they can take me out to Dunwoody area for work they said no but they can give me a ride to the airport which is further away please hurry and close down
Checker cab is awesome!! Always on time, Friendly and courteous drivers, Always know the cool spots to go.
If I could give them zero stars I would have. Dispatch will maybe will answer their phone one out of 5 times you call them, not before you hear their prerecord message of how theyre the best cab service in Atlanta. If you get a hold of their dispatch, you may need to call them back after a 20 to 30 min wait because their drivers never answered the call. And yet cab drivers complain about Uber and how theyre losing business to them. Their service is the reason Uber is taking over.
Worst company ever takes way too long to find a cab and they hung up on me I would not ever recommend this . 1 Star terrible service
