I really like the mail carrier for my area. It is evident he cares about the service he provides. I moved recently and mistakenly submitted the wrong street address. He clarified my mistake and I was able to get it corrected at the post office. THANK YOU!! This was above and beyond what I expected from USPS. The ladies at the counter are kind and always helpful. Just letting you know I appreciate the care put into your work!

Worst mail carrier service i’ve experienced. i hope i can come back here and change my opinion after some time

Just know that if you do not put an apartment number for your shipping address, then youre screwed... I had ordered something earlier this month and found out that it had been disposed of ONLY because my apartment number was not on the address and they were unable to return to sender. Same thing with another package as well; says it was delivered but I never got it only because my apartment number was not on there... They are pretty un-reliable in my opinion

Ive been using the Astoria Post Office for over a year, and the staff have always been friendly and personable and efficient even when there are long lines due to the pandemic. Ditto for the mail carriers I run into out in the field. Nothing but praise for them!

I have seen an improvement! I am a longtime resident . The customer service has been fantastic when i have had to go in. The ladies seem to even be in a good mood! Big Big Change! They have been helpful and sympathetic and sometimes even a 3rd window is available. Thank you ladies keep up the good work! Now if someone could just answer the dang phone!!!!!!

In person these women are super! But on the phone they are below horrible. I called about 2 open claims in the Astoria Post Office and they cannot help and said they do not know what to do. The mail arrived in my mail box open and the Post Master refuses to deal with 2 open cases as well as the mail arriving open!!

Your automated customer service is the worst I’ve ever experienced. The possible choices are almost nothing and the ability to talk to a human being Is apparently impossible.Great job

I rarely get packages on time, get packages for other people consistently. they mark our business as closed when its open. I understand that the person that does the truck at night has had a long day and that they are chose at random. I have people from other business give us packages that were delivered to them when they were meant for us. There are several pleasant postman to deal with, but i think the place is just poorly managed. Biggest issue with this place is the fact that when you go inside it is always a negative experience. The people are always super grumpy and treat you hostile if you have any questions. I recommend going through another postal service as they have been so much more professional. I hate to leave a bad review. But after so many inconveniences, something had to be said.

The building is amazing. We were in a short line and heard a customer that was confused and voice slightly raised. The woman helping her remained calm, and was able to explain what was online was not in this actual location. Both women enjoyed a few laughs. We appreciated that the worker was helpful, and took the time needed to make the customer understand, and be happy with the outcome. We had another woman help us with paperwork for getting a post office box. She took the time to answer our questions. Friendly, and made sure our keys worked. It was a nice experience.

I really do not like leaving negative reviews,but the Astoria Post Office,has a terrible reputation for a good reason. I am an online seller for 18 years on and off. On so many occasions that I have lost count,there has been only one worker at the counter. 5-20 people in line and so waiting for 15-30 minutes to mail 1 or 2 items. Sometimes the one worker disappears to go look for something,so nobody is at the counter at all. If you ask,or complain, about lack of service,only having one worker etc., they say the other workers are not back from their break yet. Absolute slowest workers I have ever experienced in Astoria. Yes... most of them are nice and try to be helpful,but in general very poor,slow service. I have heard there is new management,but last week it was business as usual. One worker,15 people in line. What other businesses do that ?

Undoubtedly, one of the worse POs in the country. I get business mail including ATM cards, credit cards, bank statements and other seemingly important mail in MY box on a regular basis. Staff are oblivious to common courtesy, and apparently are incapable of reading as well. I consistently get a notice of delivery when in fact I am home. Basically they just dont care!

Horrible service, hardly on time. The employees are so unhappy, they treat you like garbage. I avoid ordering anything I can through them. Most of the time packages arent delivered or I get other peoples packages. Did I mention that they have HORRIBLE SERVICE?

This morning I had an issue with my local post office trying to deliver a package to my old address. This issue was entirely my fault as I hadnt realized that the PayPal address has not been changed. Not only was the gentleman on the phone very helpful with answering my questions but was able to rearrange and re-deliver my package to me without incident.

This place is an absolute joke. the white-haired lady with glasses who moves slower than a snail is also extremely difficult. I was waiting in line for 20 minutes which isn’t bad for Astoria post office but that being said there was nobody behind me and the lady with white hair and glasses was in the back finding a woman’s package so I took the time to look at their little postcard stand just left where you’re “supposed”to be waiting then all of a sudden a short little man sped walked into the front of the line I sat looking at him Waiting for him to look at me so I could say my piece but he passive aggressively wouldn’t look my direction knowing that I was going to say something. So when the lady with white hair came back with the woman’s package, I walked in the front for assistance as I was there almost 25 minutes at this point and then the short little man finally had something to say being “you know there’s a line” and I said I understand that But you obviously saw me standing there with my box. Then the lady who knew I had been standing there for 25 minutes took his side because I wasn’t on their rug. I refused to lose my spot in line and got nothing but lip. you would think a post office of such poor quality would be there for its people but it’s not this place is a joke.

If I could give a less than one star I would. This post office has had issues for quite sometime and it seems that drawing their attention to problems does nothing. First of all, good luck getting someone to answer the phone - let it ring forever until they get tired of hearing it and maybe someone will pick up. Postmaster is never available. Delivery is AWFUL!!!! We get mail for other people (sometimes important documents) on a regular basis. Who knows where our mail is going? Packages are delivered to the wrong address. Luckily people have brought them to our house. I have tried to have everything come either UPS or FEDEX only to find out it goes to the Astoria post office to have them deliver it. Notification has come that the package is delivered, but we dont have the package. Their scan shows it went out with the carrier for delivery - so one of two things happened - either it was delivered to the wrong address or the carrier takes it back and says it was undeliverable (even though we were home and saw the carrier stop at our box with no effort made to have us accept the package). Why are these carriers still employed when they receive so many complaints? I know Im not the only one complaining.

Best at damaging packages in mailbox by forcing oversized packages into it, and marking packages as delivered when packages have not been delivered. Marking mail as unable to deliver, even though the mail person made no attempt to deliver as Ive seen countless times.Constantly delivering mail to the wrong address.Worst employees Ive ever dealt with at any Post Office. Avoid this incompetent business.

Dont bother calling their number. They dont answer their phone. Customer service is okay, if you are actually in the building. Delivery service is okay.. usually, a day later than estimated delivery packages.. even if you pay for faster shipping.

I never get packages on time. I can order some from Europe, and it will be in the USA in less in a week, but sit at the post office for two weeks.

I live on Svensen Market Road and yesterday 01/07 2018 I waited for the mail to come, I usually get the mail before 2-2:30pm and it did not come until after 4 pm and now today the 8th I had a package that was supposed to be here but the mail never came and I am very upset that the mail is being put off by who the carrier is

Beyond horrible! If you pay to have some FedX packages sent they hand off to the USPS - and you have to go to the PO to retrieve. So, answer me this - why do I pay to have something shipped so i can go pick it up??????????Try calling the phone number -no one picks up.

I liked nothing about it mail man told me i had to let him unload his huge load on me to get my package. And it was late af.

I have been expecting a package and I finally looked up the tracking information only to find out the Astoria Post Office has made three attempts to deliver after our office closes at 5pm. Three attempts and no notice letting me know theyve been unable to deliver my package. So I found their number online and just tried calling them.............after 20 rings I decided to check out their reviews while I waited for someone to answer or a voicemail to come on............40 rings.......nothing.....the reviews were consistent - they never answer their phone! 59 rings and counting, I finally hung up because THEY DONT ANSWER THEIR PHONE!!!

Continue to wait on a package for them to not have an estimated delivery time and I redo a delivery for an in post office pickup and they send it out for delivery a second time I cant get anybody to answer their phone here at the local Astoria post office I have a hard time navigating to USPS 1 800 number just to be able to get a live person I have to go through Amazon just took me connected I finally get connected and they tell me theyre sending notes to the supervisor so that way they can reach out and inform me if my package will be in fact be at the post office for me to pick up or if its going to be recent out for delivery and I never get a response back the representative told me to be at the post office on Saturday that it would be open and when I arrive on Saturday theyre closed and theyre only open Monday through Friday and the representative informed me that they were open on Saturday at 8:30 in the morning until 10 so Im confused about that
