Our go to store for hard to find supplies for outdoor chain saws, generators, trailer parts, mowers and commercial equipment replacement parts just to name a few. Friendly staff, clean restrooms, good customer service. Watch for sale prices with deep discounts at season end.

Decided to give Northern a try for a $45.00 magnetic pickup tool. Brought it home & installed the wheels and handle and took it out to the driveway. It held nails, screws & other debris if I picked them up by hand and held them near the magnetic bar, but otherwise it didnt pick anything up. Even tried on a smooth concrete garage floor with same results. Disassembled & returned for credit. I will say the store did have a great selection of merchandise, and Im going to give it another try via online ordering for another product.

As a heavy truck tech sometimes need tool s not in stock on tool truck (such as large sockets) northern is first call when tool trucks fail me..great selection. Reasonably priced..Staff needs better people skills(thus 4 stars)

Good place to go when in need of tools. The prices are reasonable for most things. Do not go if you need anything related to woodworking as it is not that kind of store.

Find out they stock 2+ aisles of Milwaukee power tools, corded and cordless. All at affordable prices. Clara was very helpful. Took extra time and effort on her part, but she was willing and did and she saved me $20. If you sign up they send you coupons monthly to help you save money. They do have a service center, not sure of hourly rate, but very knowledgeable workers. Didnt have to use them on this trip but have before, and yes they will help you try to figure things out on your own. The have racks full of cool tools you didnt even know existed yet need. Definitely give this place a try if youre needing new tools whether home owner or use it every day professional, and they will have you covered. If they dont have it, they can get it shortly.

I like shopping there, never had what I needed out of stock, good selection of items, and very helpful sales persons.

Staff always greets me on arrival and asks frequently if they can be of help while Im in the aisles.

Usually we dont have a problem getting equipment here but today there was ONLY two varieties of weed eaters in stock.

Dont let the appearance of a small storefront fool you. I pulled up at this store thinking it appears small compared to other stores Ive shopped at. I was very impressed with the stores size and layout when I walked in, and with the helpfulness of the employees once I got to looking around. The employees that I ask where to find certain items knew exactly where everything was, and didnt have to call for help. They were all very professional. I only intended to spend a few dollars, and ended up spending $222.43. Everything purchased was at a very good price, and seems to be of good quality. My many past experiences with Northern have all been good, going all the way back to the days when it was Northern Hydraulic, before it became Northern Tool & Equipment. I put Northern down at the highest rating. I didnt give them these 5 stars, they earned it! Thanks for all your help!

Never fails to have what I need

I bought a wood chipper for 800 dollars it worked for 5 minutes and then wouldnt work anymore when I tried to return it they wouldnt give me my money back. Stay away from this store it is better to go to Lowes or home depot.

Good place to shop for many maintenance things. Caution on their warranties, read them first. I purchased a pressure washer and had problems. Had purchased the warranty and was told it didnt cover the pump. If it fell out of my truck it would be covered. After informing them how much I spend at Northern Tool they decided to take care of my pump on the pressure washer. I also told them to load the washer, I was going out to the interstate and push it out of the truck at 70 miles per hour.😂😁. It worked. What a pain.

I love tools and I love this store.

I bought a replacement push mower engine. The engine was used and they offered to exchange it and told me there were three in stock. When I drove an hour to get back there, there were none in stock. They then offered me a display for their cost which was a whopping twenty dollars off. No thanks.

Stopped by just to check it out, well be adding on a room this summer, Meet a young guy- Cal(?)-who was really helpful but not pushy at all. Much better experience than that big box store, Ill be back!

Beware, if you spend >$250.00 (cash) and happen to have an issue with the merchandise and need to return, you will be told that you must wait 12-14 BUSINESS days in order to get your refund, in the form of a check from corporate headquarters. This policy IS posted in fine print on a very busy but otherwise conspicuous sign (but also inconspicuous as it is buried in paragraphs of small print that no one reads) as you leave the store, and also as #6 on the reverse side of a very busy receipt. There is zero effort made up front to notify customers of this policy at the time of purchase, even when the question is clearly posed, but is then however clearly pointed out in a hey stupid, its right there kind of way should you encounter an issue. My issue was ultimately resolved after a call to the regional manager but it also barely exceeded that amount. As a store w/ many much higher price tag items, consumers should be made aware clearly and up front of the return policy at the time of purchase as two weeks is a long time to wait when you need something right then and your money is now tied up in a two week long check return policy.

Do not purchase anything from Northern Tool when a threat or occurrence of a natural weather disaster is at hand. they say sales are final and no refunds. This should be illegal to take advantage of people during a disaster and they couldnt care less. Enjoy that money Northern Tool, its the last you will ever get from me.

Not really happy with them, they will send you a flyer out, and when you go down to buy it the day you got the flyer, they wont have it in Stock, but they will have one that is a cheaper that they try and sell you,if your going to sell a product they need to stock it,but they will try and sell you something just not what you want, thanks anyway, guess

For a while now Ive been driving across town to buy my supplies at Northern Tool. I favor the local shops and smaller chains to big box stores like Home Depot and Lowes. For the most part my experience with Northern Tool has been good. It takes just a few negative experiences though to leave a bad taste in your mouth. Today was one of those experiences. I had limited time during my lunch break. I drove across town in need of one item. A particular chainsaw chain. I know Northern Tool carries the chain because I bought one at this location just last week. I was looking for another one as a back up so Ill always have a sharp one ready to go. I looked on the shelf and the one I needed wasnt there. I walked around the store for several minutes unable to find an employee to assist (a common occurrence at this location). So, as an impulse buy, I grabbed some bar oil (Ill need some eventually), brought it to the register, and asked the cashier if she can check if the chain I need is in stock. She called an associate on the radio to ask. I see the associate (I dont know her name) walk over to where I just was and reply, Nope, we dont have it. Well, NO SH**. I know its not on the shelf, my question is about inventory. Is it in stock somewhere? If not, can it be ordered? etc. The cashier, who was a new employee and very nice by the way, asks the associate over the radio for clarification: Is the chain just out of stock or do we not carry it anymore? The associates reply: Nope, we dont have it. Bravo on your stellar investigative work and customer service skills, Ms. Associate Lady. You deserve a raise! Think Ill go elsewhere from now on instead of driving across town.

Very helpful as always ! If you ask where something is, instead of just telling you where to go, most of the time the associate will actually take you to where its at ! Always had good experiences there !

Walked in and the girl at the one cash register was texting on her phone, no acknowledgement of customers. 2 young male employees were goofing off sweeping the floors.
