Well while I was getting transmission fluid changed and oil they started the jeep next to me. They forgot to put oil in it before starting it then they didn’t even tell the customer inside.Meanwhile they dumped about two quarts of transmission fluid all over my battery and radiator.I didn’t notice at the time until I got home and there was trans fluid all over my driveway and when I opened the hood I was blown away.So I took it over to my real mechanic he said the transmission fluid was 2.5 quarts low as well.When I called they couldn’t help me out and really were kinda bothered by my call.All I got was a big oil stain on my driveway.
Even after I moved out of town I kept going to this location. Been a customer for over a decade and have absolutely no complaints!

Be sure to check your tire pressure before leaving. Absurd to go in for a tire rotation with tires set at the perfect pressure to leave with every single tire at a different pressure level, some 10psi over and some 10psi under. This is dangerous and not only could damage someones tires or cars, you could cause an accident. Its not hard to set tire pressure. My back right tire now has a large bulge in it even after fixing tire pressure. I will be following up if there is damage to my vehicle.
Have been going here now for 15 plus years with no issue. Brought my new vehicle (F150) in for an oil change and ended up with a small issue which they handled very professionally. Theres a reason I still drive out of my way to go see the people at Valvoline. They are honest, professional and cool even when I wasnt. Thanks guys!
Went for inspection, my taillights worked; but had condensation in them like they have had after a rain for the last 5 years. This time after the tech discussed it with 2 other techs; she decided to fail them. The worse part is they still get to charge for the other parts of the inspection which I didnt know. When I said I wasnt going to pay I wasnt informed of the rules in a courtesy way, but with authority and disrespect. Nothing like being almost 60 and being lectured by an imputent 20ish when getting your car inspected. Then when I went back with new taillights a different tech either didnt know what he was doing or was trying to give me another lesson. Will never go back.

Went there for an inspection and they wouldnt pass it due to a cracked tail light that has been cracked for years. I have never failed an inspection for that. I always grt my oild changed at Valvoline but I wont anymore.

I took a car to get the oil changed and afterwards began having an oil leak issue. Took the car back to them and they inspected it and said that it was a seal on the oil filter housing and that they could not fix it there. So the car was sent to a mechanic who charged me $150 to tell me that Valvoline had used the wrong oil filter and that was the source of the leak. REALLY? Thats pretty much all Valvoline does -- is oil changes! Right? Ridiculous.

Excellent customer service from professional employees. After an oil change the day before, oil was leaking from my car. Upon visiting the store to check the issue, the old gasket was replaced, oil was drained, and new oil added. Besides doing this free, they also made a note for me to get the largest discount available when I return for my next oil change. Yes, I will return.

I have a fancy Italian import, aka a Jeep Renegade. I went in for an inspection and an oil change last week, and while they gave it a pass on the inspection (despite the oil change indicator being on), they couldnt give it the oil change due to not having the appropriate filter.Theres a serious question - how does a car pass a state inspection when it needs an oil change?But they told me that they would have the filter back in stock yesterday. So, I went back in today, and they did! The amusing part was watching three techs huddled around the engine, watching the expert tech attempt to loosen the bolt holding the filter in place, then dropping part of the socket wrench down into the bay underneath. The under car tech shouted A heads up would be nice!My primary tech then had the courage to come to me, and ask if I wanted them to do a few recommended service items. I looked at him, nodded at the techs huddled around my car, and said Seriously?Ill trust them for an oil change, if I confirm they have parts in stock ahead of time, but thats about it. I will also trust that theyll get parts delivered when they say they will.
I can not say enough good things about this place! I go here for all my basic car needs and always feel well taken care of. Everyone on the staff is amazing but Trevor Gosnell really went above and beyond to help me out today. Just wanted to say thank you and that I will be back next my car needs some love.

Played musical cars for a few minutes but after that the service was great and the price was reasonable.
While the oil service was fine - whomever checked the TIRE PRESSURE - took 10 pounds of air pressure OUT of the drivers front, instead of adding air as needed. A low tire pressure warning light 2 hours after service and after driving 1.5 miles back to the hotel we were in while travelling was not Good. Super disappointed and entirely aviodable.

I got my oil changed here yesterday and was uncomfortable that the technician leaning into my car and speaking to me in very close proximity did not have a mask on during the pandemic; while face coverings are recommended for the general public.After thinking about it for about an hour I decided to call Caleb the manager.He at first told me that no masks had been provided for them to use. I immediately said he should complain to his supervisor but in the meantime I would pick up masks for his staff to use and asked how many he needed.He then said they had an order placed but all technicians were given a choice and 100% of them choose not to wear masks.He then proceeded to tell me that due to moisture accumulation inside the masks those who wear them are at increased risk for infection.Basically at this essential business extremely close contact is required and 100% of the staff completely refuse to follow public health recommendations made to flatten the curve and decrease the spread of a deadly virus.This business has ignorant management that place their personal comfort and preferences over protecting the public. They should be ashamed. Do not use this business until a vaccine has been developed. If you are wearing a mask or face covering you are protecting them but are still vulnerable to infection and they have multiple opportunities for exposure every day. The city should close them down for the stance they have taken.

This place is so unorganized . I wait for 45 min and they kept making me change bays . After they would tell me to go to a bay then make me back out then go to another bay . To just turn around and tell me to go to another bay . I will never use this place again . Worst customer service ever !

Since around 2012 this was my go to place for an oil change. Mostly out of convenience and location. The last time I went to have my oil changed, everything seemed like normal. Fast forward to a few months later and my next oil change, I was denied service at another location. The last technician that changed my oil broke my dipstick in such a way that it was impossible to remove the lodged half without disassembling some of the related parts. The technician never even told me that this had happened. I was pretty disappointed in this and called to express my concern to a manager at this location and see if there was anything that could be done.I was told by the person I talked to that it was noted there was a broken dipstick on their end, but I was never told. It seemed like they were covering the fault on their end, but they never cared about letting me know. They told me Id receive a call from someone, but I never did.I understand that dipsticks are usually pretty cheap, especially on my make/model car, but concealing this information from me was shady and put me in a real bind the next time I needed an oil change. Pretty low.

I have been bringing my vehicles here for oil changes since 1999. The employees are always very friendly and the service is always super fast. I live in Black Mountain now and I still drive here to get my oil changed.
They were fast and professional, and they all wore masks which is very courteous and Noble, except the lady who wore hers on her chin.
Very professional when helping. They did not push extra items for me to buy but did make helpful suggestions. Justin was the gentleman that helped and offered great customer service. Will go again 100%.
While I get the speed will cost a premium, I feel the cost is ridiculous. The Chevy dealer will charge me 59.99 for an oil change, these guys charged 120. They also suggested 3000 miles to next oil change... Chevy says 7500-10000 miles between oil changes... Just not happy and wont be returning.
Tech wanted to get in my car without a seat cover and no gloves to do an inspection. Not happening in a COVID-19 world. Please provide your techs with the proper PPE and instruct them in their use. I will not let anyone in my car without a seat cover, gloves and a mask. Your techs were mostly wearing masks which was good to see. Still the Merrimon rd location needs to do better on their use of PPE.

This place is great. Just visiting from out of town and needed a quick oil change before returning back to Florida. Local friend recommended this place. Service was quick, professional, and friendly. And they even gave me like a $15 discount because it was my first time. Will definitely come back next time I’m in town and I need an oil change.

Ive used them for around fourteen years and have seen a steady decline in both the quality of service and their honesty. They constantly upsell you, but I understand this is how they improve profits. They have told me that I need a transmission flush (Toyota Highlander) when the manufacturer says otherwise. They have told me I have burned out side marker bulbs when there are only a reflectors used. Ive gone elsewhere and been asked What happened to the retainer pins holding up the shield under the filter?The last act was the recent oil/filter change on our 2009 Toyota Sienna. A significant amount of oil is now coating my driveway and garage floor. They told us that the old type of filters used tend to have problems, but that they would replace the split gasket and top off the oil. How generous! No interest in cleaning up the mess I have at home.I called corporate HQ and was told a district manager would be in touch. Didnt happen.Go somewhere else.
Wish I remembered the name of the guy who helped me, because he was super chill. Changed my oil quickly. Also changed my engine air filter for $20 - jiffy lube charges like $150 for that (which is a ripoff!!!!) Overall great experience :)

I have been frequenting this location for over 10 years now and all of the staff at this Valvoline are extremely helpful and courteous. However, the manager, Shawn, and the assistant manager, Rick, have both gone way above and beyond the call of duty on multiple occasions with assisting me. They are just truly one-of-a-kind,, amazingly wonderful people, and I will keep my business with them. This Valvoline location is so lucky to be so well managed and staffed. These employees undoubtedly deserve a raise!!! Keep it up, guys! We love you! :)

I NEVER write reviews, but this visit and the people at this Valvoline shop merit speaking of. Took my handicapped brother and his vehicle to have the oil changed today. What I thought would be a simple oil change ( he has VERY limited money), turned into new wiper blades ( found out he had no blades on his wipers), and a brake light was out. They were out of standard blades, but they gave him the premium ones at the standard price. Gave him 10% off his oil change, and Eli (I think his name was) took the time to show my brother how to take the tail light casing off and change his own bulb if he needed to do it in the future. They only charged for the bulb and not the service. Since our father died, my brother has no one to teach him such things and it brought tears to my eyes to watch Eli be so kind and patient with my brother. He deserves a medal in my book, much less my business.
Busy but nice guys
Originally I had written a very glowing review of the service I received this morning. However, the technician who changed my wipers gave my windshield a good whack, and i just noticed that in the few hours since I left, a foot long crack has appeared on my windshield.
Quick friendly service
The staff is courteous and efficient, and will give you a speedy oil change. They might recommend other services which may or not be necessary. Once they wanted me to buy new air filters that werent even dirty when they showed me. I stick to the basic oil and filter change and am very happy.

My new oil place. I originally gave this outfit a 4 stars rating. As of May of 2021, I will no longer use this business anywhere if I can help. This outfit gave me the running around between four of the businesses. The first business I chose required me to go get my own supply for an oil and tran change. We had a conversation about it but they directed me to one near by. I arrived there 10 minutes later, waited in line to be served. About 5 or 6 minutes later, an employee tell me they can not help me. Im observing a car in front and behind me but Im the one they can not help. Visit two more in the area, same results nearly. I decided to go back to the first business and questioned the manager about his phone call. He admitted to calling local chains around the area but couldnt understand the treatment. So Im done with this outfit. I went back to my original place.

Perhaps my experience was unusual for this site, but it was bad enough for me to never want to go back.A couple of days ago I had occasion to need a state inspection, so we pulled into this Valvoline after dinner. An employee came out and directed me to wait in line behind the middle lane. A short time later another employee came out and told me that the car waiting next to me had arrived before me, would I please back out and let her in. After some difficulty (nearly hit a pole) she and I traded lanes. FYI, she wasnt so lucky, her car actually hit one of the poles trying to shuffle sideways. She then pulled through, had her work done and left. Then the car behind her (a new arrival) pulled into the bay, and immediately started to get service. Meanwhile, Im now stuck in another lane behind a car thats getting a long process done.The employee who had told me to change lanes now reappeared, and seeing what had happened came over to my window to say, basically, Oops. He did not offer to get me in, made no attempt to fix the inequity. When I firmly told him Thats not right!, he shrugged his shoulders and walked off. In disgust, I pulled out and left without getting an inspection.Im an advisor to businesses, and I can tell you this is a good case study on how to lose customers. Im guessing the manager had long since gone home. Now, here I am letting the world know what a lousy experience I had. Bad news travels fast!

Best oil change ever!!! Maybe not the cheapest service ever, but I was needing something fast and convenient, and Valvoline was open during the hours I needed. It was not any more expensive than Jiffy Lube, which I used to use before I moved to Asheville.Special thanks to my technician Kat for explaining everything thoroughly to me without trying to upsell anything. I truly appreciated that because at other companies, I often feel pressured to add on services. Everyone was super friendly, and they did a great job. I would use their service again.

Thorough and complete, but a little bit messy. They dripped oil on the front right fender and didnt clean it up. No big deal, I cleaned it up with a paper napkin. They quoted $47 on the phone and then wanted to charge me a few dollars more after they changed the oil. I noted the difference and they said oh, thats before I apply the coupon. I didnt have a coupon I guess thats just something they do: quote the coupon price when you call.
The employees and friendly and helpful. They didnt have our oil filter in stock, so they said they could have it delivered within 20 minutes - which is nice, because they didnt just turn us away. They also helped us apply a coupon that was initially meant for a slightly different service.

Came in for an inspection and was seen promptly. The technician went through the entire inspection before failing me because of after market tint. They then charged me for the whole inspection including the window tinting fee.I have never had a shop go through an entire inspection, proceed to fail me because of tint, and then charge me the full price for inspection. Usually shops are courteous enough to let you know up-front if the tint is an issue.The whole thing seemed kind of underhanded to me. I prefer a shop that is up-front with you and that is not something you can count on at this location.Why go through with the entire inspection if you believe the tint is going to fail? Waste of time and money.
I had a great oil change experience. The staff knew what oil my car took right off the bat and informed me it would be more expensive, 0W20 is still a little new so that was nice to see. They also rotated my tires and did a fine job. I had one minor problem with a clip on my plastic skid plate and they fixed it perfectly upon notice, Assistant Manager Rick went above and beyond to make a very minor issue right. Definitely going back for my next oil change, quality people.
Staff gave estimate. Was charged over $60 for an oil change, which was $23 over the amount I was estimated. There was supposed to be a light bulb installed, yet I was told that it was impossible to have access to installed area of light bulb. So light bulb I paid for was not installed.After oil change my tires looked off.I went by a tire center for an air check.Was told all the tires had different amounts of air and that a tire air check could not have been performed.Now I am concerned that maybe the oil was not changed at all.Was charged excessively for little and No service. This is an incompetent place that over charges excessively.
