These people are awsome if it wasnt for them I wouldnt have a place to lay my head, peacefully and out important safe..thanks you guys so much ..
They were helpful when I was homeless in that they gave me a voucher for laundry. Besides that, I was terrified to go in there. Showered there once or twice, but I didnt stick around for one after that. If Im homeless again, Ill go to them for laundry vouchers, but got a field shower for bathing. The staff were friendly enough but the general attendance... Well, theres a reason theyre there every day.
They gave me my housing back after they took my house for a charger that was non-existent that I beat and trial and then they took my case manager from he told me I didnt need a case manager to be housed theyre really bad people considering I am disabled and they dont try to help people
Ive been homeless for over 4 years our homeward bound voucher we first had was taken from us for pretty much no reason. My husband and I try weekly to get help yet we get no results.
I got no help!I was told to meet someone named India???As I waited for the place to open their doors, two dudes who were also on the porch, shared a bottle of what looked like to me perscription cough medicine. After the doors finally opened, I asked for the person whom I was supposed to be meeting and was given a phone number to call. I did call and got voicemail, (of course!)Still waiting to get that call back over a year later! It must have been a sign for me to get the heck away from Nasty Asheville!Thank you Homeward Bound!
Lots to admire about employees and volunteers and the people that make this place work for those in need and I would give it 5 stars other than it doesnt have play station 4s set up with big flat screen LCD screens to play unlimited time on or with a partner or versus options... and hope Im saying that correctly, so consider the term, vice versa 🌈
Took a friend there
Very good services. Its the only homeless hangout, during the day, in town.
This place will go the extra mile to help you get back on your feet if you are willing to listen to what they are saying. You have to want help
A nightmare leaving broke, my phone never worked, Left out in the middle of no where, were no help at all. gives me night mares So depressed and demoralized. I ended up under a bridge, when power was cut the Bill a monthly $700.09 average. Then they took things from there. Calling my things Garbage. Thats what I think of them .
Very resourceful but crowded. Still worth going if you need that kind of help.
Their patience is astounding. Sorry the hrs. are depleting. Where is Amanda?
Ahope day shelter/Homeward Bound sure is a blessing to our community of homeless people. This gives someone who dont have an address a place to receive their mail, a personal container stored in the basement of which they can access and trade out their personal belongings for that day. They provide hygiene items and a chance to take a shower, use the phone, charge their cell phone, drink hot coffee and eat a small finger food breakfast. They have several community resources available for anyone to access if they wish including linking them to treatment services and therapy. They will work with housing and or Homeward bound themselves to find appropriate housing based on the qualifications of the person and their income. Asheville is blessed to have such a caring and compassionate place for those who have found themselves in a homeless situation.
Nice people got loads helpful people
This was formally AHOPE. I always thought that homeward bound was a veterans service, but they help anybody down on their luck. From a place to eat, use the restroom, sleep, a physical address to receive mail at, and many, many, many other services, they are great. Sometimes theyre overworked and understaffed but they still find time to help you and treat you as an equal human being, despite the low wages they make and having to deal with the self entitled people who believe that theyre more important than anyone else in the world (including the staff helping them) and that they DESERVE everything they ask for (no matter how realistic their demands are) and if the staff doesnt give them what the demand, they curse, threaten violence, and are just downright rude and disgusting to the wonderful people who are trying to help them. Ive seen first hand little old ladies likely 80+ years old being cursed and threatened. It sickens me, but these wonderful people go in every day and give their all. God bless them.
If ever compassion was given to the homeless people in Asheville, due to the generous grant fundings of local business owners, doctors, lawyers, City Counsel, and other very fine and caring people they are here in Asheville. Also, I commend 2 people who work there one of which has moved to South Carolina; to wit: William Blaire and Ryan Gruger.
Needs more work needs more help homing working homeless people the medical lady chris rocks tho she goes out of her way to help the homeless

Good people .caring staff
Good resource for a small meal a place to chill to use the phone to sign up for food stamps and where the homeless go
Very understanding and very caring for our community
Hope that you never need services at Homeward Bound. Its a very long process, and they are perpetually understaffed and can only provide assistance with the most basic of needs about half of the time.Always crowded and always a tense environment. Everyone hates it, but they all need the services or else they would be anywhere but here.
I am so sorry that ahope. Did me and a few of my favorite people
They take the home across the street and try to pull in the house and housing
Nasty inside. I was to scared to bring my mother in there because it looked like a breeding ground for germs.
