I absolutely adore Dr. Amber. The whole staff at Charlotte street have been amazing over the five years I have been taking my cats there. They have been great about following up for regular check ups and always manage to get me in under unexpected circumstances and take the best care of my cats. My cat loves Dr. Amber. She is a natural with animals and genuinely cares about the animals and the people. Nothing goes unnoticed or dismissed and I know she’s very honest with everything. My cat is aging and while that comes with some new things like arthritis or signs of aging, I feel at peace with all the advice I am given by Dr. Amber on how to better my cats quality of life. I feel like I learn ten new things every time I go because she is so hands on and really takes the time to explain everything, while also showing Sunshine so much love. I cannot say enough about Charlotte Street and Dr. Amber.

Charlotte Street helped me quickly as a new client with a sick dog. Communication with an actual Vet is a little challenging after first visit. I think their intentions are good. Everyone was polite. After Vet was done a Tech came back with medications and a card reader for payment. Before paying I asked questions because I did not actually know what was done or the results of tests after the Vet left the room. Tech answered questions at that point. Vet did follow up 24 hours later to ask about my dog. This is not a negative review…I am accustomed to a Vet actually coming back to the exam room to share information about my pet. I appreciate that Charlotte Street made quick accommodations for me to get my dog in. My pets health is my focus.

I really appreciated the time that Dr. Amber took with me and my elderly dog, Roland. She showed so much attentiveness, warmth, kindness, and care. So too did the lovely attendant who took him back to get his nails trimmed and draw blood. I don’t remember her name but she was amazing, gentle, and went out of her way to make sure that Roland was comfortable and felt safe.

My pets receive the best care at Charlotte Street Animal Hospital. Whether it’s routine check-ups, emergency care or helping me manage chronic illness, I know my cats are in the best hands. All the staff is incredible!

Took my pup for an urgent visit on a Saturday and I am seriously considering changing vets after a great experience. They were able to get me in same day that I called on top of a timely and what seemed like very thorough visit. The vet that saw him was super nice, gave a written report, and she genuinely seemed like she cared. Still not able to go in, which is understandable, but I’m sure he was well taken care of. I really enjoyed talking to Dr. Cowan about my cat and how to care for her. She spoke in such warm and glowing terms that I could really feel her care. It was very encouraging, and feels like I have solid support in keeping my cat healthy.

Charlotte Street Animal Hospital is one of only a few AHAA certified offices in our area. This is one reason I chose them in 2011, when I moved here. They’ve been tested by having to diagnose my pet’s rare disease that was very quickly killing him. His life was saved by the knowledge and quick thinking of the doctors here. They never push for unnecessary “money maker” tests, and allow me to be a collaborative part of my pets’ care. They have cared for my 5 pets and my daughter’s two. They offer excellent care, and compassion, at affordable prices.

The staff in the front are very welcoming and friendly. I never wait very long to see the Dr. after I check in. My senior dog got very good care by the veterinarian and I was given plenty of time to have all my concerns and questions answered. I left knowing that the best care was given to Bella and myself.

This practice obviously loves animals and how their pet parents love their animals. We feel so supported and heard whenever we have a pet concern. For our family (including our pups) we are blessed to have them caring for our fur babies.

My little stray cat, BB, was very sick and not gaining weight, I took her to the emergency vet at Charlotte street and they did a fantastic job with her. They were knowledgeable, kind and professional.

The people here all seem to be answering a higher calling to work with and serve animals and their families. Our dear cat was loved and cared for with joy and compassion throughout his long, healthy life. One of his doctors even caught sight of me walking around town and came over to ask about how Louie was doing! And my intense canine, wilderness search-partner is handled with confidence and genuine affection for routine visits, referrals, surgical repair and amazing rehabilitation. This team and their colleagues have given him his joyous life back after debilitating injuries. I trust them totally.

They were absolutely wonderful. Great communication all the way through the experience. I felt like my bunny was in safe hands the entire time, and they called me in the middle of seeing him to communicate what was going on and what needed to be done to help my bunny. My bunny has been feeling better and is happy and energetic since his visit. I am really happy with my experience and will be going back for any needs for my little bunny.

My two pugs have been seen by this hospital for the past 10 years. We’ve always had a good experience, but not lately. They stopped providing chiropractic care, which is key to my senior pug’s quality of life. Apparently, there is a change in the ownership of the hospital, and they don’t think that pet chiropractic care makes money. They would rather prescribe pain medications that are harsh to the liver. Second, they don’t answer their phone. Today after calling them repeatedly, a receptionist answered. I requested an appointment for my new puppy. The date she gave me was too far, in my opinion, because the new puppy lives in a house with two other dogs, and needs to be seen ASAP so that he won’t pass his worms and other stuff to the others. The receptionist said that was the only availability they have, and point blank told me that I can call another vet if I want. I was disappointed that she didn’t attempt to find a better resolution than telling a 10+ year customer to call another vet. In the past, when there’s no appointment available, they put you on cancellation wait list, in case something opens up, and it usually does. Anyways, I did call another vet and was able to secure an appointment much sooner. I am now considering transferring my two pugs out of Charlotte Street Animal Hospital, so that the care of all three dogs is housed under one roof.

First of all Id like to give Dr. Henry her props for making the fur babies as well as the parents as comfortable as she does. Although I miss being able to come in with Rolex for his check up and say hello to everyone there, I trust you guys 100% that youll take good care of him. I have to laugh when I hear my friends saying how much their dog hates going to the vets office because Im very lucky thats not us. So far my past 4 - 5 dogs all loved and still love coming to the doctors office and that means were doing something right all this while. Thank you all so much for being so good to my kids. I truly appreciate it. And all the girls and guys that work there are great. Theyre all very helpful.

My dog had an upset tummy for a few days and I found myself trying to make a vet appointment on a Friday afternoon. Thankfully Charlotte Street Animal Hospital has extended hours. They offered me an urgent care appointment and the receptionist explained what the cost would be which I appreciated. She gave detailed instructions for what to do when I got there. A tech came out and got my dog and barely anytime later the vet was calling me to give me an update. He was so sweet about my dog and gave me options as to what we could do. I didnt feel pressured into any treatment and he took the time to answer my questions even though I was their last appointment on a Friday evening. The tech brought the meds to my car as well as a way to pay right there from the car. When some test results came back a few days later they email the results and also followed up on how my dog is doing which I also appreciated.All around they were nice, helpful, informative, patient and really professional. I will definitely be returning there for my animal care needs!

Our dog had injured her eye, so Charlotte Street let us drop her off to be seen as soon as possible. In less than three hours, shed been seen and treatment prescribed for a very reasonable charge. So glad our dog is their patient!

Simply the best humans to take care of our beloved fur babies. As with all the other times I have visited CSAH, my most recent visit was unequivocally positive. The staff was friendly and professional, and exceptionally patient with my dog, who can be a handful sometimes.

Overall my many pets get great care here. The vets are always willing to work with me and help in any way they can with my animals. Everyone is friendly and professional. I do think it is time to allow pet parents in with their pets. I do not like not being able to be present with my pet and speak to staff face to face. Also this hospital seems to be more expensive than most around town.

While on vacation in NC, our dog got an infection. We called them and they were able to get our dog in same day, and she was out in a few hours. They were super caring with her and didnt charge an arm and a leg for working her in same day. I highly recommend them!

Dr. Amber is incredible! She was very kind, honest, and informative when diagnosing our senior chihuahua with pancreatitis last week. She was thorough in her plan, getting him a proper diagnosis before just starting symptomatic treatment. Her and her team kept us updated with what to expect in his recovery/treatment plan, and kept him comfortable while he was in their care. Petey was lethargic and out of it when I dropped him off, and when I picked him up he was much brighter and more alert. By the next day he was back to being his adorable, spunky little self! She answered all of our questions and eased our minds.

Charlotte Street Animal Hospital offers the complete professionalism and state of the art veterinary care of a large animal hospital with the personal attention and consideration of a small-town practice. They have cared for all our pets, from when we had 6 cats and 2 dogs; to recscuing a pregnant black Lab and her subsequent 9 (!) puppies till they were 10 weeks old and we’d found adoptive homes for all teen dogs; to the present days with our one calico and new, older rescue dog. They have always known all our pets by name, handled them with gentleness and affection, and kept track of let needs and eccentricities. The vets are expert, honest, kind, and supportive. The vet techs, staff and business office kind and genuinely helpful. We feel so fortunate to have Charlotte Street Animal Hospital to care for our loved pets ave by extension for us as well. They truly are part of our family.

First visit was free. The staff was very friendly and they were quick to respond and come out to my vehicle to start our appointment. It’s all done without going inside which made me anxious at first. Thankfully it was all really hassle free and they checked with me about prices and if I wanted anything administered before doing so. Looking forward to using this clinic from now on.

I am new to town and needed to get my dog into the vet quickly for a small issue he was having. I called around to 6-7 other vets in the area and did not have a pleasant experience. When I finally got CSAH on the phone, they were so kind! They were attentive and understanding and even got me in for a same day appointment. The actual experience at CSAH was a 10/10. All of the techs were so nice and loved on my dog! The vet was patient and took his time explaining the services and took exceptional care of my pup. Plus, the prices were very reasonable! I highly recommend!

We bring our 15 year old cat to Charlotte St. for not only his health care but for boarding. They take very good care of him and weve been very pleased. Sometimes you have to wait quite a while, especially when dropping off or picking up for boarding (even before the pandemic), but Covid has complicated things, and I feel they have done a great job adapting to continue good care for our pets. I would highly recommend this practice.

My pets have been going to CSAH for a couple of decades now and I have complete trust in the care they receive there. The doctors and staff are both very caring with the pets and are also human-friendly. I know that I will always get a thorough explanation and options for how to proceed with my pets care - and that I will be listened to and cared for too. Everyone there asks about my pets by name and are unfailingly kind and helpful!

We take all of our cats there and are very happy about the care they get. We are especially impressed with Dr. Amber, who is their vet of choice and who treats them whenever possible. She is knowledgeable, flexible, accommodating, charming and congenial, and we are so happy to have found her. Our only complaint is that their prices are higher than most.

I had to find another vet due to poor quality care at vet in Patton Dr. Bryan Allen. I was lucky Dr. Henry corrected the terrible bandage placed on Susie at vet on Patton. She also gave her topical antibiotics with anti-inflammatory agent.

Every visit for our cats and dogs has been so solid. Attention to details and informed recommendations with pet health as the bottom line has cemented CSAH as our vet office for as long as we live anywhere near them! Cant give enough stars.

Had another excellent one year wellness checkup with my dog Sandy and Dr. Abrams. Even through this pandemic Charlotte Street Animal Hospital Staff did a great job handling our appointment. Everything went very smoothly and the Dr. reviewed his exam and took questions over the phone while we waited in the parking lot. Cant thank them enough for making these pandemic appointments so easy and putting our minds at rest with their efficientcy. If you need a vet, now you know where to go!

Great care and attention for our puppy. She’s a rescue and very skittish. They moved slowly and let her feel safe. Nice that visits to the vet are not traumatic. And I have total trust in their competence.

So far, everyone at this facility has been above par, fabulous! Not easy to earn. I’ve also found them to be mostly reasonable and fair on price. We came to Charlotte Street in what was basically a state of emergency for my pup, who is diabetic, though not a directly diabetic emergency, in what became a trial-and-initiation by fire for them… and for me, as I was getting introduced myself to what greater effects diabetes might mean for me and my pup. It was an eye appointment, but Dolce had just had a series of serious spikes in blood sugar, above 750, our worst yet, the week before, and it wasn’t abating fully. For the next 6 to 8 weeks, we were there nearly every week. Her vision had declined, ushering in a string of corneal ulcers and edema, etc., from her hitting things with her eyes and a strangely significant toe infection. . . I was so nervous at a new vet’s with such needs. But, my fears proved to be in vain: Dr. Scully ended up being the very vet for the job. Not only did he listen effectively to a host of info re: history, but it was clear that he got it. And his feedback was so thorough, qualified, and insightful as well as clinically-based and detailed, that it demonstrated to me the stars were shining on us—who also bore an open perspective. A rare combination. She saw another doctor there as well who provided excellent care, in addition, filling in when Dolce could not see him. As well, almost all the techs have seemed capable and concerned, and the FD staff have been helpful and caring often, too—and tolerant at times. They many times fit her in for urgent necessities. I was very grateful to them in those early days—still am. They continue to prove to be an excellent choice for my pet and Dr. Scully couldn’t be a better fit for her care, as well as his communication to me, all the stuff. They also do a fabulous job of concealing any behind-the-scenes chatter about me, frustrations and moments of wonderings if it’s all worth it! :) Dr. Scully continually meets my expectations as a veterinarian, and, though mistakes happen everywhere, the place does, too, in general/does a stellar job of caring for my pet, overall. And I am not easy to impress.

Dr. Scully seems to really love what he does. He and the staff seem to be very patient and considerate of both pet and owner. This is very hard to find.I look forward to future visits with Lakota and my other pets.THANK YOU FOR BEING THERE!!!

My cats generally have hated going to the vet, to the point of attacking the workers. They havent done anything like that at Charlotte St. They seem to be able to handle the stressed cats, better than others have.

I have been going to Charlotte St Animal Hospital for 11 years now and they have been amazing and supportive. When my pup my around 7 years old, he experienced what we now know as an Addisonian crisis. They were able to save my dog’s life and provide ongoing care for his autoimmune disease to this day. They have seen us through the ups and downs and have always been compassionate and understanding. Would recommend them a 1000x over if I could. Dr. Amber is the sweetest, most knowledgeable veterinarian who was able to think quickly and figure out the life saving interventions to keep my pup alive and happy to this day.

We had a situation where are regular veterinarian was not available and Great Dane needed medical attention. These folks got us and in and their level of animal care and service was as wonderful as I have ever had. Open communication with doctor and the staff was out of this world. I couldn’t recommend a better facility for your pet care.

Even though I wasnt able to go in and meet Dr. Amber, she did not rush me off the phone and she took her time explaining what certain test results could mean. They apologized to me when I let them know how much Banfield Pet Hospital was. They are very reasonable with their prices. They all are very knowledgeable. I found out Banfield pretty much lied to me and told me everything was fine, when in reality my kitty might be in early stages of kidney disease, or have a thyroid issue. This is just going off of his old blood testing. I am still waiting for results, but they made me feel at ease with everything. Highly recommend!!

I googled emergency vet Asheville NC and this place was at the top of the list.I called this vet with a TRUE emergency on Friday morning (9am). My dog had suddenly collapsed and wasnt getting any oxygen. It was truly urgent. They first asked me if I was a current client (I was not, this dog was actually a foster dog that my housemate had for 2 weeks at that point), then they put me on hold while this dog was actively trying to die on me. When the receptionist came back from the hold she told me they could not accept the dog today, and referred me to MedVet. I hung up the phone and looked up MedVet, only to find out they didnt open for 2 more hours. This was about 5+ minutes of wasted precious time for this dog who I now know had gone into acute anaphylaxis. Luckily, I found Animal Hospital South who were very responsive, kind, compassionate, and saved this dogs life. Some how Animal Hospital South also knew that MedVet was having staffing issues and had cut their hours back, without having someone Google it who was in the middle of a crisis.Charlotte Street Animal Hospital Staff are uncaring and uninformed. If you are going to have a targeted Google ad for when someone looks up emergency vet then maybe you should actually offer those services. Because when someone actually has an emergency they dont have time to be calling several places wasting precious time.Dont waste your time or your pets life at this place that clearly doesnt care.

My dog has a heart defect and Charlotte Animalhospital has gone over and above in caring for Bentley. They fit me in for last minute appointments, have late hours that allow me to go after work, and they are patient and loving with her. They genuinely care about my dog! Definitely 5 stars!!

Charlotte Streets wonderful vets and vet techs have taken great care of us and our dogs for 16 years. They have helped us through their ailments, rejoiced with us when we add a new pup to our family, and mourned with us when two of our sweet dogs have reached the end of their lives. They are kind, knowledgable, responsive, and available.

We have been with CSAH since...1995? Something like that. They have never failed to do their best, even if the best is to assist in letting our pet go. They are compassionate, knowledgeable, and friendly as heck! I highly recommend these folks.

They are always on time. We have seen several vets for both dog and cat visits, some well visits, some not. We have always had excellent care.

Dr. Scully and all the staff are kind, compassionate and give my pets the best care.

Dr. Amber, Dr. Henry and Dr. Cowan are the best. They give our pets care that I only wish I could get from human medical doctors. They love our family members and take care of them like their own!

Dr Abrams is lovely and also has a very nice voice.10/10 would recommend csah

The vets themselves are great but the front desk staff seems to have some issues. They seem ditsy or something. Poor communication and issues with scheduling and follow through.

Dr Jaci is a fabulous vet!. The stafff is always professional and accommodating. Best vet clinic ever!!

We love Dr. Amber so much. She has taken care of our dog and cats for years. She really connects with the pets when shes examining them. When there are tough choices to make, she provides options including what she would do if it were her pet. She doesnt push the most expensive treatment or testing, and she understands that the decisions an owner makes for a senior pet might be different than for a young pet. Her love for the animals really shines through, but shes also great with the owners. All of the staff at CSAH has been great to work with, and weve also been pleased with the care when our pets have needed to see other vets for issues when Dr. Amber hasnt been available. I cant imagine entrusting our pets care to anyplace besides CSAH.
