Awesome tour of 3 Asheville breweries where youll learn a bunch about what makes beer taste different based on the ingredients, how beer is made, and a ton of beer history. Taste a ton of beer and see a production floor, all for probably cheaper than the price of the beer you consume.

Hard to describe the best part of this tour-- the personal touch, great; the knowledgeable guide (CLIFF!!) awesome; the combo of local beer history and city history, informative. Would do this tour again to check out some other options-- we did the Friday afternoon 3 brew tour, worth every penny, plenty of samples to go around and a nice bit of everything, if you like walking and talking this is for you. Loved it!!

This was one of the best tours I ever went on.Often, tours can get boring because you just get inundated with a plethora of information... but when youre drinking beer and hearing about a rich history of facts, everything is better! Go figure. For $50 a pop, my wife and I traveled to three breweries in Asheville (a craft beer haven): Hi-Wire, Catawba and Green Man. Each stop includes different facts and historical lessons, all while trying some of each brewerys most acclaimed brews. The beer samples are quite generous as well, with 3-4 approximate 6 oz. samples offered, as well as more for those who drink quicker! At Hi-Wire we tried porters and IPAs, did sours and ales at Catawba, and a mix of it all at Green Man. There were probably 12-14 of us in the tour, so it was a small group. The guy who conducts the tour (I forgot his name) is awesome. He just walks around with a mic and explains things you never really thought about when it comes to beer -- whether its how taste comes from your olfactory senses and not your tongue, or why macro breweries tried to eliminate small breweries for financial reasons. The tour lasts three hours (one hour per stop) and even includes facts about the citys history, how it came to be and why Asheville is one of the nations beer hubs. It was completely worth it, with different breweries offered on different tours. You leave with a solid buzz!

I can see why this tour was getting 5 stars! We were looking for a little something different- more than just a roving beer drinking party. The website is pretty spot on for the experience you will be having. We had about 15 people in our group, but it felt much smaller. (Some in the group paid the reduced price for just the tour and not the beer, an option for those couples where one is not a beer drinker!) We did the three hour tour- went to three different breweries with a sampling of at least three different types at each. But throughout those 3 hours Cliff gave us a beer education from A to Z, and dropped in some Asheville history along our way. Such a fun afternoon, HIGHLY recommend!! And, if you sample everything he is giving out, you better have some other ideas for after the tour ends, on foot. THANKS CLIFF!

Really great tour with tons of great knowledge - Cliff did an excellent job! We enjoyed getting to visit the different breweries and tasting different options at each. Plus some cool Asheville history thrown in to make it a really well rounded tour. This is definitely a tour - some people on our tour I think I had the wrong impression of what they were there to do. Yes, you get to drink beer, but it is focused on what makes the beer a beer and a lot more involved than just here is a beer to drink! Really enjoyed it and will recommend to our friends.

Our tour guide was Cliff the owner operator. Cliffs knowledge of beer, brewing, the brewing industry etc... is second to none! Along with tasting beers at some of the local breweries on the South Slope we got lessons in tasting beer as well as the entire process of making beer. This included all the way to canning and distribution. He also had some fun facts about the city of Asheville which we had not heard of from some of the other city tours we have taken. Cliff is a great guy too and we highly recommend taking a Brew-Ed tour if you decide to visit Asheville.

Great great beer tour. Focus is more on education, history, styles, processes, etc. And you get plenty of delicious beer to sample. We did the two brewery walking tour. About 2 hours total. Guide extremely knowledgeable and able to answer all your questions. As we walked from the first brewery to the second he also taught us about the city and its history.

Did this with my dad on a very cold and snowy evening. We had a great time. Great beer, great guide, met great people. Ive recommended this to many people afterwards. ONLY suggestion, find a way to give out the glasses at the end of the tour so we didnt have to carry them from place to place all night. That being said, fun times all around and definitely a good choice! :)

This tour was a present from my boyfriend, and before going on it I wasnt much of a beer person. However on the tour I learned so much about the brewing process and the huge variety of flavors beers can have and Ive converted from my hard cider drinking days to looking for local craft brews on tap. All the breweries we went to were excellent, and Cliff really made the tour exciting and interesting and you can tell hes really passionate about it. I recommend this tour to anyone (beer connoisseurs and cider drinkers alike)! Also if youre looking for a good gift to give someone, this has been one of my favorites ever.

The tour was fabulous! When we started at Hi-Wire, I wasnt too sure about Cliff, and was thinking, oh boy, this might not be so good. The reason was he was fiddling with his speaker system as his strap had broke. He didnt seem very mechanically inclined but I reminded myself to not judge. lol! Anyway, my first impression was dead wrong. Cliff was a lot of fun and provided a very educational experience. We learned about the beer making process, what makes a beer a certain beer, we sampled a number of beers of varying styles, we learned a little about the history of beer making, history of Asheville, and the history of beer making in Asheville. We discussed a number of topics related to breweries and laws etc. This was entertaining and quite educational, and well, I like to learn. An awesome time with with a fun group, Cliff was an stellar guide making this a wonderful experience. Do it, well worth $50.

The Asheville Brew-ed tour is well worth the price of admission. This was out first trip to Asheville and the city alone has a rich history. This history was one of the key points in the brewery tour. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the cities history, and not in a High School History class way.Now on to the beers. We are from Atlanta so we are familiar with brewery tours, or at least we thought we were familiar. On this tour we actually gleaned a good amount of knowledge about the beer brewing process, and the history of beers in the world, and the local craft beer culture of Asheville. This is a walking tour that encompasses about one city block with three breweries. It lasted about 2 hours and we had a fair share of beers for our tasting pleasure. We decided to hang out at the last brewery/bar and partake of the nectar which is our favorite drink.......Beer.
