When here for the first time for an oil change. Very fast service, customer oriented. Would definitely recommend
BRUCE IS THE BEST! Highly recommend this place! My skid plate was falling off on the way to class and I called last minute asking if they could fix it during my lunch break, they told me to come on over and were extremely quick and courteous.
Bruce at Pro Automotive is awesome. He works on all of our vehicles. He always gets our car fixed quickly and is fair about the price. He works on all types of vehicles and knows his stuff. If you need someone you can trust and count on, this is the place you’ve been lookin for! Thanks Bruce!
I can’t say enough positive things about the Pro Automotive crew. They are friendly, fair & efficient. Absolute pros. 10/10 recommend anyone looking for a mechanic look no further than Pro Automotive
Bruce is awesome! Ive been coming here for years. His prices are very reasonable, and he is always very thorough with diagnostics. I have never once felt like I was being taken advantage being a woman, which is something I very much appreciate in a mechanic. I am disappointed to have moved out of state where I have to find a new trustworthy mechanic. Thanks for all you guys do, Bruce!
Bruce and the crew helped diagnose my car and were honest and very helpful! I ended up selling my car to them as I had bought a lemon of a used car and they gave me a good price and helped me figure out the title and transfer! Very grateful to them!
I appreciate the honesty provided with my Jeep Liberty, 2006. I called them and spoke with Bruce regarding my concern about ball joints getting replaced. He made a way to get it estimated the following day. They were honest, letting me know it would cost more than it was worth to fix the problem, and that I should keep it off the road. They explained in detail the problem I would definitely go to them. And before purchasing a used car, Id check with them to see if they can take a look at it to see if its worth buying.
Great shop. Very knowledgeable. They helped me diagnose and fix an electrical issue I was having. Had me back on the road in no time at all.
Bruce and his team at Pro Automotive are wonderful! They are friendly, fast, and professional. It is very clear to me that Bruce and his crew take pride in their work. They were thorough with the diagnostic of my car, but did not pressure me into doing anything. Thanks for everything you have done for me and my 2001 Subaru Forester!
We have always been very satisfied with the service from Pro Automotive and would not hesitate to recommend them.
We took our F250 7.3 diesel here with cold start issues. They got us in quick, did great work and didnt overcharge us to fix most of the starting system. The truck is running great now even on these cold days. Then about 3 weeks after they did the work we had a separate problem (one of our hoses had come loose); they saw us right away and fixed the problem on the spot in 20 minutes with no charge. Quality, honest mechanics are too rare these days and these guys are the real deal. The only place Ill take my truck in Asheville area.
Mr. Campbell and his team were awesome! I’d had some work done on my car before taking a road trip to Asheville. While there my car began to overheat. There was steam coming out and wouldn’t accelerate beyond 35 MPH. My fiancé and I called a few shops and none could fix it. Finally we tried Pro Automotive and it was the best decision we could have made! They diagnosed the problem (a leaking coolant line), fixed it, and tested for any other issues which led them to discover that the radiator fan I’d recently had installed didn’t even work! Mr. Campbell and his team went above and beyond, making sure they got the necessary parts and even staying late on a Friday night to allow us to travel home in time for work on Saturday. If we had gone elsewhere they likely wouldn’t have caught the defective fan and we might have missed multiple days of work. Overall my experience at Pro Automotive was professional, efficient, and knowledgeable. I wholeheartedly recommend their services if you’re in need of repairs!
Fast and friendly service. Very kind people who do great work. I would highly recommend going here for any work you need done. Ive gone to them multiple times, and each time Im impressed.
They just ran diagnostics on my prius for any oil issues. Very knowledgable. Awesome guys.
I had a great experience with this shop! Very knowledgeable staff and fast affordable service.
We were in a bind and Pro Automotive helped us out in a big way. Our 3/4 ton diesel had just finished hauling our camping trailer up the mountain and we stopped at a Walmart 2 miles from the campsite for supplies. When we returned she wouldnt crank. After some mess finding a tow truck Pro Automotive took our case and delivered. A new fuel primer assembly and just 1 day later we were up and running and back to romping in the hills. The owner was considerate of our plight and did a fantastic job. We can highly recommend this place for good, quick service at a reasonable price.
They were great! Got us right in for our repair while traveling. They were busy, but understood our situation and got us back on the road.
If I could give lower I would. I simply called to see how much it would cost and when they could put a simple lift/leveling kit on my truck. First he quoted me at $600. I then explained what lift I had and it turned to $450. The guy I talked to still didnt seem to understand what lift I was talking about and said it would take him a couple of hours even though the instructions clearly say an hour and a half max. Giving him the benefit of the doubt I again tried to explain what the product was AND HE TOLD ME TO DO IT MYSELF AND HUNG UP ON ME!!!!!!! Extremely unprofessional, rude, and downright mean. Please dont waste your time or money here. This mans actions rally should cause the business to be shutdown. GO ELSEWHERE. RUDE. HOSTILE. SCAMMER.
Great fast service. Broke down on vacation in the middle of a highway to Asheville and got towed to the shop. Owner and personnel were very understanding and helpful and immediately diagnosed the issue. Car was fixed before my vacation was over and made it back home successfully with no issues.
We have had 2 challenges with our vehicle. The 1st we took to AAA of Ashv, and Harrys on the Hill, neither shops figured out what was wrong. We had a recommendation to take to Pro automotive, they absolutey nailed it, courteous, professional, timely work, absolute ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐from my wife and I. Just wish we would have known about them sooner.
Good work back on the road the next day. Replaced vacuum pump on my 6.7 Powerstroke. No leaks anymore! Happy with the work and price and will be back!
Great work. Great guys keep the work trucks on the road.
Brought a van here for an inspection and the first thing we were told was the engine has excessive blowby. Brought the vehicle home and took a video, posted it online and everyone is saying there is no blowby. He told me a bunch of other things about my van, but since the first thing he said was a blatant lie Im not sure if I believe him. Got the vibe he was trying to take advantage of a girl customer, would not recommend this place. Stay away.
Pro Automotive is a wonderful car repair shop. Bruce is very professional and has a heart of gold. I would recommend them to anyone and everyone. I would most definitely be using their services again.
We have used Pro Automotive for many years for our business and personal vehicles. We are always pleased with the work. Recently Bruce saved us quite a bit on an a/c repair by replacing a component on the compressor rather than the whole compressor like most mechanics and the dealer would have done.
These guys are great here at pro automotive. they gave me an accurate quote and it turned out the cost was even lower than the quote. They saved me a lot of money and there were not extra charges.
I love pro automotive so much. I got the recommendation from an auto parts guy and tried them out about a year ago. We have six cars, all older models with high miles. Bruce and Emerson provide excellent customer service. They do what they say they are going to. They dont do anything they havent talked you about. They stand by their work. We need to keep guys like this in business.
We would like to Thank Bruce, Owner of Pro Automotive for all his help when our Ford F450 Car Hauler broke down on a Major Highway coming back from picking up a van in Key West.We are Based out of Cuyahoga Falls, OH and were in a tough position sitting on the side of the road with a Bad Engine and not a clue were to have it towed. Thanks to a State Highway worker, he referred us to Pro Automotive, adding that Bruce has a fair and honest repair facility. From Dons first conversation with Bruce, he put our mind at ease. He would speak with Don daily updating on all possibilities and options to get our Car Hauler up and running. We ended up going with a New Ford Diesel Engine and turbo. It was greatly appreciated how Bruce took the time to be involved from start to finish and wouldnt give his blessing of completion until he personally test drove our vehicle and sign off on the job.In addition, Bruce pricing was very fair and went over the final invoice in detail to make sure we were satisfied with the parts, labor and overall engine job.We were strangers brought together because of our mechanical failure but lucky to now have a friend in Asheville, NC that we can trust and count on. We couldnt be more satisfied with their Business and would highly recommend Pro Automotive to anyone needing mechanical repairs in their area. Their a 10 plus on a scale form 1-10, along with a honest staff and owner that know how to take care of the customer in the Truck Repair Business!Sincerely,Don Sitts C.E.ODon Sitts Auto Group
I came in 30 minutes before closing on a snowy Monday to get a used car inspected before buying. I was a first time customer, new to Asheville. All of Bruces technicians have gone home for the day. I thought I was out of luck but to my surprise, Bruce decided to inspect the car for me.Bruce did a thorough job, taking the car up the lift, taking it for a test drive, looking for hidden repairs, inspecting the oil, tires, brakes, and price-checking the car to make sure I got a good deal.Bruce and Pro Auto have earned a returning customer for future maintenance of my new car.
Bruce is a top notch professional. I called Pro Automotive and Bruce (the owner) quickly answered the phone and was very professional. I was coming from out of town to look at a Powerstroke Diesel and asked him to do a bumper to bumper inspection before I purchase the truck. He quickly found that the truck was salvaged and did an outstanding job giving me non biased opinion on the condition of the truck. He went through it very thoroughly and pointed out the smallest of details and his knowledge of the Powerstroke motors was apparent. I was looking at a 6.0 and he could tell that fluids were the wrong ones and unique findings. I highly recommend them for any Powerstroke needs. His price was reasonable and took two hours going through the trick for me. Bruce I can’t thank you enough for your help! After I decided to not purchase the truck, Bruce even called to follow up on my decision. During my visit Bruce has a lady walk in for an oil change. She was very confused but Bruce took the time to assist her with out slowing down my inspection. Very well handled shop! Do me a favor and use Pro Automotive! Thanks again Bruce!!!!!
Great service! Called them and was able to get my car serviced the same day. Will definitely be using them in the future!!
The guys at Pro Automotive are very experienced and have a ton of know how. Theyve helped me multiple times and did a great job
Fast and reliable service for my entire familys vehicle needs.
These guys are great. They recently installed a new/used engine in our old Subaru Outback that I had ordered on Ebay. It turned out the engine was a newer model (2005) than the car (2002), but they figured out that it needed different cam and crank sprockets and got it running.
Every time I need my truck checked out, these guys come through. No bs, always have things done well, in a very timely manner. Couldnt recommend them enough.
Top quality work at fair prices. Honest and professional, so no need to shop around.
Ok, I broken down on vacation and in up getting towed to this shop. Got a huge smile when I saw that they have 3-4 powerstroke diesels in the parking lot. Since, my 6.4 just shut off on me and I needed it fix ASAP so I could get my camper back home. Once I told them about my issue they sent a tech to work on it. 3 mins later he was driving it and told me that he will finish checking it out and call me. 30 mins after leaving the shop he was on the phone and told me what broken and had the part on order. Fixed within 24 hours of hitting the lot. Priced right for what they did and I throw in a case of beer for having it done before I had to leave the mountains. I will be looking these guys up again for any issues I have around Asheville, NC.
They were able to get me in and out on the same day with no appointment. I was travelling through town and couldnt find anyone willing to work on my 86 Chevy diesel van, including all the Chevy dealerships around. Joe the mechanic was very kind and professional. Made sure to quote me before starting any work and prices seemed fair. Highly recommended!
Honest, skilled and thorough are the 3 words I use to describe Bruce and his Pro Automotive crew. We had been taking our cars there for a couple of years, but when my 2010 Jeep began bucking and the gears were grinding, I decided to bring it somewhere else, a national chain. I used a gift card I won in a raffle for a free diagnostic check. I was told my transmission was shot. Ugh. Ouch. I didnt even consider using this chain for the repairs, I was only using them for the free dignostic. So I called Bruce at Pro Automotive, he gave me an estimate and I began saving my money. A few months later, when I finally had enough money, Bruce searched online and found a transmission for me that fit my budget. A few days after dropping off my car, Bruce called with some good news and bad news. Bad news was, my car sat in my driveway for 3 months while I saved money for a transmission I didnt need. Turns out that national chain gave me really bad information. Turns out my Jeep was only 4 quarts low on transmission fluid. I had struggled to live without my car for 3 months, based on what that national company told me. I was mad at that company and mad at myself for trusting them, but I got over that pretty quick because what really stood out to me, was Bruce knew I had the money for a replacement transmission and he had my car. He could have just done the work and taken my money. Instead, he told me the truth. I now have a bunch of extra money and will use it for a trip to Florida with my son!Needless to say, I HIGHLY recommend Pro Automotive and also recommend if you win a gift card for a free diagnostic from a national chain, toss it in the garbage!!
Bruce and his guys are amazing!! They have always done great work on my car and are very honest when it comes to what needs to be done. Theyre very fair with their prices as well. I would recommend this place to anyone, whether its just for an oil change or something more difficult. You will definitely get the best from them!!
Bruce is great! They do good work and price it honestly.
I had my car towed here for repairs and it turned out that my warranty covered it meaning it had to be done at a dealership instead. I felt like these guys were really honest and looking out for me even when I didn’t end up doing business with them. I will definitely be going there for any other repairs I need. Friendly and professional.
The owner was super helpful in assisting me with. He was not even in town but took the time to get me in touch with others who could help me when I was stranded coming home from vacation. I would have no problem in taking by vehicle to him for any service needed. Exceptionally nice and helpful.
I called this shop a moment ago. The owner was very nice and helpful and willing to take the time to help us find a mobile mechanic in the area since we were unable to get the truck to their shop. Its clear that their goal is to help people to the best of their ability even if it doesnt mean they get the business.
I took my Jeep there the other day. They kept in touch with me the entire time they had it! EXCELLENT customer service and it cost me much less than I expected! HIGHLY recommend these folks!
I wish I had found Bruce sooner! Excellent work at a great price. They have gone above and beyond for me and my wife, this is the only place I can trust to send her without me.
Bruce and Joe and the folks at Pro Automotive run a great shop. Kind, flexible, and honest they have had my back for a couple of years now. I came in for our company box truck but I also get my pick-up and my wifes Toyota serviced with them.
A pleasant, stress free experience.. compared to the bigger, more experienced dealership!!Thank you, Emerson, for diagnosing and fixing my van in such short notice. Also thank you to the mechanic that worked on my car.Spare yourself the trouble with the bigger dealerships😣 these mechanics know their craft and have as much knowledge as supposedly the big boys... You guys have my recommendations!!👌
Honest, easy to work with guys!! I recommend Pro Automotive to everyone I know. Bruce and his team have helped me out more then once and I am super appreciative of their expertise and hard work!
Thanks to Bruce and his crew! I moved from Wisconsin and had problems with my car on the way down. Put it on a trailer in Kentucky and moved to the Arden area. I did some research and took it to one of the Chevy dealers in town and they couldnt give me a for sure answer. Im sure by the time they would have been done with it it wouldve cost me thousands, so i pulled out of their line and found Bruce on Google maps and read the reviews. Seemed impressive...So I took it to them. He sat down with me and we discussed the problems and they began the work. After all said and done, he got me back up and running below cost estimate with great service and only did what needed to be done. No bs and no extra charges! Thanks Bruce and crew!! I highly recommend anyone to bring your car problems here for fast, honest, and friendly service. If I could rate higher than five stars....I would!
Very professional & helpful staff. Very skilled in their work. We were vacationing in the area and Bruce stayed late to help diagnose the problem. Had it fixed the next day and we continued on our trip. Great help if you need diesel repairs. Recommended!!!
Great service - I needed holes pressed in a metal plate and lug nuts mounted into it for mounting a spare tire on the back door of my van. The owner was super helpful and charged a very fair price. Would return to them again.
Bruce and the team at Pro Automotive are top notch. Honest, dependable, very skilled, and cheaper than any other mechanic Ive found locally. I know I can trust them and I know the job will be done well. Ive been looking for a good mechanic for a long time and Ive finally found him!
AWESOME EXPERIENCE. Needed new brakes & rotors really really bad & had some other things I thought might need to be replaced.Thought Id try this place because it had the best reviews & almost every single one mentioned how honest they were - AND THEY WERE. Bruce & his team were able to get me fixed up the same day & did it at a very fair price!! Will definitely be coming back here when I need any other car work done.
I have been taking my 2004 Honda Pilot to Pro Automotive for service since I moved to Asheville several years ago. I am pleased with the work, both preventive maintenance and repairs, they have completed for me. I trust Bruce, the owner, and his staff to keep my vehicle running smoothly and ensure I am safe in it.
I had oil change and I stepped out of office where I was told to sit, and thecman working on car was changing bulb in brake light. I wanted to see how he did it but he said go back in there. I understand I shouldnt be in the garage area but he wasnt very polite. Ive been to lots of garages over the years and I think next time I ll go somewhere else. The owner was nice though.
I recently purchased a 2006 F250 Super Duty with 6.0L. I knew it would need some work so I looked for a competent shop that I could trust. I found Pro-Automotive on the web and called the owner Bruce Campbell. I took my truck there for a steering gear box replacement. Bruce took the time to look my truck over, talk to me and discuss some aspects of the 6.0L engine in general. They replaced my steering gear box, did an excellent job, and the cost was very fair, and still saved me money over what the local Ford dealer wanted to do the repair. Theres something to be said about getting something fixed right the first time. I will be taking my truck back to Pro-Automotive for all my service needs. I highly recommend them!!
Very friendly and helpful! Went in expecting to spend a lot of money and left with my car fixed free of charge! It was a small problem but they didn’t even charge me for the time spent figuring out what was wrong. I’m very happy with my experience there! Most places would try to take advantage of a girl who knows nothing about cars. I trust this place and will return!
Coal rolling potentially new customers is bad business.
I can’t recommend Bruce Campbell and his staff at Pro Automotive highly enough. They know what they are doing, they are easy to get along with, they are incredibly competent, very honest, and their services are reasonably priced. They go out of their way to make sure that customers are satisfied.
My serpentine belt broke in my car. I called them up because I was close by and they helped me out quickly. Fair price and I was in and out fairly quickly. Probably my new go to mechanic. Great job.
I have taken both a Subaru and a Honda to Bruce at Pro Automotive. Every time I have left, I felt that I got great service at a fair price. Bruce is honest and that goes a long way with me. I will not hesitate to give him more business and will recommend to friends and associates.
Pro Automotive is probably the best shop in all of Asheville if not the whole state of North Carolina. Bruce is wonderful and Ralph and Steven are the best mechanics I have ever dealt with. Ralph is an electrical and a/c wizard. Steven is amazing with an attention to detail that is second to none. I have 2 cars of my own and my husband also has a car and a work truck and my 4 children each have their own cars so we have had our fair share of mechanical issues. Pro Automotive has worked on all of our vehicles and they have never run better. Im glad I have stumbled upon this top notch garage. my whole family is in awe of how good of a job these people have done..... Bravo
Bruce runs a top notch shop, very reasonable on price. Big thank you to Joe for getting right to the problem and fixing it! Will be my mechanic shop for years to come. Thanks again Bruce and Joe.
Brought the truck in for a brake job once and an electrical problem another time, fair pricing, honest people, quick turnaround.
Could not have asked for a better experience. The owner, Bruce, takes the time to sit down with you, discusses concerns, and provides solutions. Whats more, he gets to know YOU. You KNOW he is going to take great care of you and your family. He goes over budget concerns and gives pricing options and recommendations using different parts without sacrificing quality and safety. The crew does a fantastic job and gets you back on the road in no time. Pro Automotive is truly first class. I wouldnt take my vehicle anywhere else after the experience I received with Bruce and the crew. Look no further and go see Pro Automotive!
Easy to talk to and quite knowledgeable. They got me a good quote fast and was able to help me out tremendously. I will be going back for further car needs.
Im new to town and picked this place online, not knowing exactly what to expect. A UHaul dealer in town had installed a trailer hitch on my vehicle a week earlier, and had suggested that I see a mechanic to install a larger bolt due to the rust on my vehicle (this didnt really make sense to me).Bruce at Pro Automotive is now my hero. He inspected the brand new trailer hitch - which had a broken bolt and a missing bolt. No wonder the UHaul dealer wanted it inspected - it was hardly attached! No rust was observed. Bruce spend lots of time with me, explaining what he say, suggesting how I proceed, and then DIDNT CHARGE ME A DIME! Hes got a customer for life...and a very thankful person who isnt pulling a UHaul behind an insecure hitch through the mountains! Thanks again, Bruce. Youre my hero!
Exceptional attention to detail. I was traveling. Had major problem. Took vehicle in on Monday late. Problem diagnosed Tuesday a.m. Vehicle back in my possession on Wednesday afternoon. Runs better than it ever has. You can trust these people.
Honest and fair car service! The guys at Pro Automotive have worked on my car twice now and I am such a fan. The first time, I needed a new fuel pump (which is not a cheap problem to have) and Bruce provided me an up-front cost estimate so I had a sense of how much I would owe. He showed me the part he needed to order and that it was as fair of a price as he could get as well. I really appreciated the transparency. Most recently, I had to go in for a new blinker light and they were able to quickly get it fixed within 30 min! They also only charged me $20 for the fix which was awesome. If you are looking for a reliable mechanic in south Asheville, these are your guys.
I have used Pro Automotive on several occasions. I have consistently gotten excellent service at a fair price. I have been treated with respect and courtesy without fail. I trust Bruce and his staff.
Bruce, the owner, and his team are the best diagnostic mechanics in WNC that we’ve worked with. They are well educated and use up to date equipment and technologies. They have a great turnaround for repairs and have worked on both our Honda and our Duramax.Their labor rates and part costs are very reasonable and will compete with anyone in town.If you’re looking for honesty, integrity and a high level of craftsmanship I recommend you check them out.
I moved to Asheville about 3 months ago and immediately started experiencing car troubles. A friend recommended Bruce, saying that he treats his customers with respect and integrity, always explaining the function of a part or what is wrong with the car in a way that they can understand. I have visited his shop several times, and each time, I have left feeling relieved. The car I moved here with died and he willingly and patiently sat with me and helped me find a good car within my budget. I would recommend him to anyone who has a problem or a question. It is clear that Bruce cares about this customers well-being.
Ive been looking for a honest and trustworthy mechanic ever since I moved to Asheville. I found what I was looking for at this garage. These guys do a great job and actually care that you are satisfied. I highly recommend taking your car to Pro Automotive, I know I will.
I took my Honda crv to Apple tree honda where I bought it with a bumper to bumper warranty.the tech said it would cost 940 to fix starter and the warranty wont cover it.so my husband called Bruce at pro automotive and he did it for 408 and got the warranty on it.so he cut me a check for289 the next day.he is honest and knows what he is doing.plus he helped me reset my stereo for free.So refreshing to find people who are great business these days.10 star rating from me.He has gained a loyal customer in me and my husband.thanks Bruce!
Good service and price. Seem really trustworthy
These guys are fantastic. Were from out of town and experienced a steering- suspension problem with our 2011 Ford F350 and camper. The local Ford dealer said they might be able to get to us the next day and the three tire/suspension places we tried wouldnt look at 1-ton trucks.I called and spoke to Bruce who said to bring it in that day. His son found the problem immediately and they had us on the road in an hour. They charged about half of what the dealer charges just to diagnose. Thanks Bruce, we really appreciate the fast, honest service.
Awesome guys that does great work. Not looking to get you to buy all the extra stuff not related to the problem your there for
We were having trouble with our sprinter motorhome AND our tow car. Bruce was able to diagnose the problems for a very reasonable fee. He found the closest place for warranty work and then when we couldnt find a tow company that was able to tow our motorhome the 60 miles to Greenville, he called around until he found someone. (All the truck towers told us they were booked out for at least a week.) He was extremely helpful and provided great service to us - stranded tourists on our first major rv outing.
I was visiting Asheville when a horrific noise started coming from the front wheel well. It sounded like metal on metal. My friend recommended I contact Bruce since he and the staff are extremely knowledgeable and fair with their prices. I was not disappointed. The issue was simple to resolve (rock stuck somewhere around the breaking system) and he included the labor with my oil change. As a female, finding people that are trustworthy to work on vehicles away from home is always a blessing. If you live in Asheville or just passing through and need help with your car, I highly recommend them!
I prefer to drive older, paid for, trucks. Finding a shop that will take the time to diagnose problems is essential. After wasting too much money with another mechanic trying to fix the SAME problems I was about to give up. Pro Auto took over and soon diagnosed and repaired several stubborn little problems. I am impressed with the integrity and talent I discovered here.
Highly recommend Pro Auto! He repaired the car my daughter, son in law, 2 grandbabies, and 2 grandogs were in that broke down near his shop. The price came in under what was originally quoted and they made it back to CO with no other issues, Bruce and his mechanics were our angels that day! Thank you team and God Bless!
Quick and great pricing. Great bunch of guys.
Thanks to Bruce,at pro auto motive,my wife and I are very happy with the service and price.and his honesty.our starter was going bad, and the place we first took it to,told us it would cost 950 or more to fix.we called Bruce and he cut that price in half, plus found out for us that the starter was under warranty, and got us 290 back the next day.I would rate Bruce and pro a 10 star rating.so happy we are that we found someone we can trust in these times.thanks Bruce.
Extremely overpriced. I was charged $300 for an oil change check engine light & A/C diagnostic and then they didn’t even fix my check engine light
Had a E450 diesel blow a water pump I run a business out of it so needed fixed quick told me 2 day and was spot on!
Be Forewarned. I was very busy and sick with a cold during the XMAS holiday and brought my vehicle in for repair. I did not double check the cost estimate and agreed to it. Indeed, as others have said they are very friendly and knowledgeable. They fixed my issue correctly, the first time. However, I believe they inflate the costs of parts beyond what I thought possible. I looked up one part- (on Rock Auto) and my $126 part was billed at $293. Another billed at $126, for a ~$50 part. Owner become very defensive and aggressive when I inquired about these costs. He told me how am I supposed to pay my top notch mechanics?. Well- Id say steer clear unless you have an issue that other shops have mis-diagnosed. UPDATE: wow just read owners response. Really? Your attacking my persona? I am a retired meteorologist, worked at the White House (under two Presidents) and the United Nations. Beyond that nonsense: 1) does it matter I paid a deposit? 2) I haggled 10% off parts after he told me he adds 100% mark up on parts. Not normal. I did accept 100% markup, but 200%. Naw. My brother-in-law is a mechanic. He corroborates that 50-100% markup occurs, but not 200-250%.
Great shop and great communication! Bruce and his crew SAVED me when the engine in my Nissan Murano failed. I had brought it to a local Nissan dealer where they held it hostage for 10 days without providing me with a quote. When they finally did it was ridiculous. I decided to shop around and found Pro Automotive with great reviews and decided to have it towed over to his garage. Apparently, and without permission the Fred Anderson Nissan had taken my entire engine apart and it was in about 2,000 pieces in their service area. I was nearly in tears but contracted Pro Automotive to pick it up on his flat bed, piece by piece and put it back together. They did a fantastic job and let me know where they were with the process the entire time. They even provided me with a proper quote (a fairly priced quote) before starting work, something the Nissan dealership could learn from!
Very friendly and very helpful! Unfortunately I need the dealship to fix the issue but they took the time to find out my problem and give me the information to take to the dealer
Called when I needed urgent assistance with my Subaru. Am very happy with Bruce & Companys Work:)
Good work, fair prices.
This is a long, and long overdue, review. I don’t normally rate business, but I’m making an exception. The TLDR version: There’s no shop in the Asheville area that I trust more to work on my vehicles. The long version:I started taking my cars to Bruce at Pro Automotive about five years ago at the recommendation of a couple coworkers, who are both still customers.I was accustomed to auto shops with a secretary and front desk, so that took a little getting used to.Within the first year I had an oil seal related repair that didn’t go right. I think the part failed, but I called Bruce, and they got everything fixed at no extra cost to me. At that point, I wasn’t sure if I was going to stick with Pro Auto, though I ultimately decided to give it some more time.I’m glad I did. In the four years since then, everything else has gone perfectly, and I’ve had lots of different repairs (clutch, batteries, tires, 100,000 mile maintenance, alternators, brakes, etc.) across three vehicles (200sx, Altima, 4Runner).When my 200sx with 241,000 miles on it was getting beyond the value of repair, Bruce urged me to find a replacement vehicle instead of repairing it.I recently had an experience were I thought the catalytic converter on our 4runner was going out, which is an extremely expensive repair, but I didn’t think twice about telling Bruce what I suspected the problem was because I know he’s honest. As it turned out, I was happy to be wrong, and after a $90 repair had the vehicle back the very same day.My advice to any potential customer is be patient. Bruce fills multiple roles in the shop and has a lot on his plate because his mechanics do good work that lots of people want. Be the kind of customer you would want to have. Also pay by check, and don’t be cheap. The worker is worth his wages.
Bruce and his team are awesome. They have done excellent work on my Passats and my Jeep Cherokee. The last service replaced the heater core on my Passat. When the car was returned the entire front passenger compartment was vaccuumed and thoroughly cleaned. They even remounted the radio squarely in the dash (it had been slightly askew ever since it was first installed) AWESOME work guys!!! and yet still reasonable.
They kept me updated the entire time and got my car in and out super fast. They knew the problem immidiatley and were extremley affordable. 10/10 would reccomend
Honest, good work, very fair prices. We wouldnt go to anyone else but Bruce.
Very courteous & knowledgeable; clean shop!
Perfect service. Honest people.
Spent a lot of money to fix EGR issue. Followed all recommendations and now am looking around to find someone else to fix the check engine engine EGR error.
Outstanding service..we were on our way back from Hilton Head and lost a caliper bolt on a saturday night. Took a chance and called the number just to see if they knew of a place that was open sunday. The owner offered to come in on Sunday and get us back on the road.. took the time to fix the issues correctly, checked all the brakes, found out the front calipers on both sides were not tightened correctly (we recently had a brake job done in KY before we went on vacation). The owner fixed everything, even checked the lug nuts on all the wheels ( some were over torqued). Charged us a fair rate, didnt even mark it up for weekend rates.. really saved our vacation.. overall a terrific person and a veryreputable shop.
