Yesterday proved it is worthwhile to do business with the same folks who have serviced your car all the time. In January, I had a new alternator put in. Recently was hearing a strange noise and brought the car back in. Ricky, who had done work on my car before drove it a bit and diagnosed the alternator - again. It was still under warranty, so no charge, but in addition, they went to great lengths to bring me a loaner car at 8 A.M. so I could make a 9 0clock appointment across town. Great and honest service! I count on them!

We were traveling and hit a large piece of tire on the freeway (unavoidable). The front splash guard broke and was hanging down. I had to crawl under and bust it off to continue. Im a car guy, so we went to the Asheville OReillys on Riverside Drive to buy rivets to reattach it. I asked Jeremy (at OReillys) if he would recommend a local shop, rather than trying to do this without the proper tools. He said I should take it to Jimmys Automotive. He was RIGHT! Despite being booked into next week, they were able to squeeze us in and get us back on the road. When they gave us our car back, they said no charge!!! I wish there were more people like this in the world. They run a clean and organized shop, in a professional manner and they are not taking advantage of people. Restored my faith in our fellow man. Just got car fixed and, when driving, lost power. Car had no pick up. Drove by Jimmy’s after closing time but decided to stop anyway and Jimmy was there . He calmed me down, took car on test drive and said the car needed fixing.. I got a loaner car and by Tuesday they fixed it for a very good price. Thank you Jimmy and all his staff for helping an old lady on a Thursday evening, before a long weekend. I would have to get a taxi for all those days. Jimmy’s ROCKS!!

Tj was very thorough when I brought my truck in when the ABS light came on. He provided me with a full diagnostic report with pictures of areas needing repairs and how to repair them. As a detail oriented person this report was very helpful. I will definitely be returning!

Took my car in for a rattle, and I also asked them to look at what else might be needed for the 120,000 mile service. It is a used car, and unfortunately there was a lot that was needed. Even though it was a last minute request on my part, they were able to get the work done in a reasonable amount of time, and it is driving more smoothly now.

I live near haywood county and yes it is out of the way for me to go to them but I will not take my vehicles anywhere else from now on go to them you will not be sorry.

I took my car to these guys a little over a month ago for the first time and they were so nice. They talked with me honestly about my repair costs and options and worked with me and my budget to make sure my car was safe. I have never had a more pleasant experience! While their price is slightly higher than what I was used to it is well worth it for the professionalism and service!

There were several things done to my vehicle in relation to acceleration, manifold gasket, etcI feel they were very honest with me, keeping me informed of all steps and cost, before implementing procedures.

Ive been looking for a good mechanic in Asheville and finally found a trustworthy place to take my car. All work does require an appointment but the techs are super friendly on the phone and work with you to diagnose any problems and figure out what work to do. In the shop, every employee has genuine respectful and friendly interactions and work is timely and thorough. It is on the pricey side but for the quality and complimentary inspections its definitely worth it. They also send out coupons which can help with costs.

Jimmys always have top shelf service. Their mechanics know that they are doing and are great at explaining all the ins and outs of the repair(s). Its hard to find honest mechanics these days and if you are looking Jimmys Auto is the place to go!

I had an engine oil leak and had them inspect to find the leak which was about $98. The workers were very friendly especially TJ. However, they diagnosed that the leak was coming from the head gasket and quoted me $3,000+ to replace. As my car itself is not worth that much I denied to get it fixed. I decided to have someone else look at it and come to find out the leak was actually coming from an oil pressure valve which is only a $15 part that I replaced myself. And there is no more leaks.

I have an 08 Honda Odyssey that was in need for some TLC. So I called them and let them know about my busy schedule to see if they could work with me. I dropped it off on Friday afternoon and they gave me a courtesy car until the car was ready for free all I had to do was pay for gas. So then on Monday I got sent an email of a computer analysis of my car inside and out. This is to let you know if your car is worth putting money into or it is not. Well the results were good so we were willing to put the money into it. So I knew it wasn’t going to be cheap but I knew it needed it. I needed the timing belt water pump and tensioner done and I had them do the seals while they were there. I also had some fluids flushed. During the repair they found a couple other things that needed fixed. Rather than just calling me and smacking me upside the head with the cost and what it is they took the time and snapped a photo of it sent it by email. Soon after I talked to Ricky and he went over what it was and the importance of it and cost breakdown. I have always had a hard time trusting car shops but a picture says it all while it’s still on the car. It made my decision easy to make with all that information. I went in with a budget but was not meant due to the age of the car. It’s not there fault that happened but I am so happy that they are honest with me to let me know of the repairs needed. Some things that they found Ricky said this can wait and some couldn’t. So now when I need to pick the car up after hours and drop off there car they made it so easy for me to do business with them. I would recommend Jimmy’s to anyone that wants great service. I wanted to thank Randy, Ricky, and TJ the tech for giving me the awesome service and making it safe for my family. We set up the appointment and I took in a car I was interested in purchasing from an individual for a Pre-Purchase inspection. The staff I worked with were friendly and knowledgeable. They conducted a thorough check of the vehicle and created a list of issues for my consideration before I made the purchase. They stuck to the time length and price we discussed previously. We had a blow out on I26 just across the TN/NC line. Had to get towed to Jimmys for our repair. AAA was supposed to call the folks in advance to see if they had availability to complete our repair. AAA did not call. bBUT the wonderful & helpful staff at Jimmys worked their magic, found 2 replacement tires and had us back on the road to our camping vacation in a short time!! Jimmy’s Automotive rocks!! I recently bought a vintage car and I was really happy with my purchase UNTIL it left me and my 10 year old daughter stranded. After a few hours I was able to get it towed to their shop. They explained that they were booked solid and wouldn’t be able to even look at it until the following week, but it would be secured on their lot. I was ok with that. Ricky called me back when they were able to diagnose it. They went over it with a fine tooth comb and looked at everything, and there was plenty wrong with it. It was an expensive repair bill, but they were upfront and honest about what needed to be done to make the vehicle safe to drive and what could wait. Being that it’s an older vehicle we had to wait on some parts, but I expected it. I can see why these guys stay so busy all the time. Some people say they’re expensive, but I say you get what you pay for. I’d give these guys 10 stars if I could.

I could not shift my 1997 F- 150 out of the park position. Jimmy’s corrected this unusual problem. Their persistence in problem correction plus customer care is why I recommend Jimmy’s to others.

My engine light came on and my Saturn Vue stopped and stalled out on me quite a few times. Jimmys Auto was kind to take me in. They were able to quickly deduce the problem, and had me a new EMC unit in as well as found a problem with a damaged oil housing unit and replaced it as well. I am very grateful for their help and to get my Saturn back in service within a week.May 3, 2021I took my Saturn Vue back in to check my brakes, oil change and transmission check.They were able to get those tasks done quickly as well as find a potential problem that could have been a real safety threat on the body frame. Jimmys does consistently great work. TJ, Randy and the others are very friendly, hard working and take time to explain things or answer questions. Thank you to everyone at Jimmys for your help!

Beware - very overpriced. I had an appointment, 1 1/2 hrs later I was advised of the price to fix my brakes and rotors. Called around to other mechanics in town and was repeatedly quoted prices 30% less than charged at Jimmy’s. When I advised them of this discrepancy and that I’ll get this taken care of elsewhere, the response was “good luck with that”. Disappointed with the overcharging and how long it took just to get to my car. Will not go back.

Employees were friendly, helpful and respectful. It was reassuring to see Covid protocols were being followed. This is a well run business.

Service was very quick and reasonable. Should things need to be done, they send you a picture of the issue so that you can see and approve. Really courteous. Love these guys.

We’ve brought our truck here for several years and we are so pleased with the quality of service that we’ve decided to bring our car here even though we still get free oil changes for one more year at the dealership. Jimmys service techs did a thorough inspection of my car replacing the oil and parts originally approved and then discussed other necessary work that had been discovered during the inspection before performing it. I particularly appreciate the inspection report with photos which made it so easy to make the decision to proceed with the additional work and the professionalism of TJ the customer service manager.

I dont always know exactly what maintenance is required on my three vehicles, but Jimmys does and they keep me informed with email notices.
