We’ve been taking our boys to Westover Barber Shop for over five years now, and they are definitely our favorite place for kids haircuts. Tran in particular is the only one we’ve ever found who is able to successfully cut my seven year old’s thick, cowlick ridden hair and somehow shape it so that it lies flat and grows out wonderfully every time. We’ve tried a few other spots at various points over the years (mainly when we needed cuts badly and Tran was out of town or unavailable that week), but no one else does as well. We love them, and highly recommend them for kids cuts. Tran, as mentioned, is excellent, but Annie and Helen also do a great job with my kids’ cuts.Though I can’t comment on men’s cuts from personal experience, there are often men in there getting cuts who seem quite happy with their cuts as well and who seem very familiar with the staff, so I assume they do a good job with them as well.
First rate, personal service . A true neighborhood barber shop specializing in kids and seniors haircuts
Very patient with our 2 year old, even though he kept moving around and getting distracted. Will definitely be going here for future haircuts.
Good haircut and very polite people. However, they do not take appointments or credit cards, so make sure you have cash.
Great family barbershop. Usually kids but sometimes see adults getting cuts too. Great with kids especially more challenging ones
Fast service and I liked my haircut.
The best place for kids haircuts!
I went in early and was in the barber chair at once. The barber who cut my hair was polite and skilled. I will go back to this shop.
Nice place! The only place that my son (3yrs) has his hair cut without complaining!
Annie was so great! My nephew has never made it through a haircut without crying before today, and he barely even whined! They had a train table to play with, popcorn for a snack, and cartoons on the TV to watch while she trimmed. Super kid friendly place, even for little toddlers.
THE best place in Arlington for childrens haircuts. Annie, Tran and Roger make their clientele feel at home and go out of their way to make that very first haircut a memorable experience. You will also often run into teens who came here as toddlers. And you cant beat the prices. They gladly take adults too of course!
Good place for adults and kids haircuts. Theres a little train set in the back and kid movies. The kids will even enjoy some popcorn and lollipops. They dont take credit cards here.
Love this place. Its run by a delightful Vietnamese couple who are both excellent barbers. They happily cater to kids, and know how to handle them. But I come here because they give me the best haircut every time, bar none!
Kim did a phenomenal job with my 3 year old. He hadnt had a decent haircut yet due to being scared, squirming and crying. Kim distracted him with Curious George tv show and a few toys she had. She also explained everything she was doing before she did it like the trimmer is going to tickle, etc. Finally a handsome haircut! We absolutely will be returning!
All of the stylists here are wonderful with kids. Thank you for being so patient and kind with our toddlers.
My name is Steve, and Im posting to say that Roger is a terrific barber. He gives the best haircuts Ive had in the Washington area, with none of the slipshod work Ive found with other barbers, who too often rush to get to the next patron while cutting your hair their way. Roger is as quick about it as possible giving you the best of all haircuts---the one you ask for.
Got my 2 year olds haircut here and they did an awesome job!
Great place to take the kids. Annie and Tran in particular give great kids cuts, with a small TV running Thomas or Dora or Curious George to help with sitting still. Train table, books, and a big TV in the waiting area (it can get crowded). Free popcorn! Price is a little steeper than other places, but worth it if you have little wigglers and have trouble getting good cuts elsewhere.
Great spot for kids and adults
I took my 1.5 year old daughter to get a cut with Annie and it was a great experience. The establishment is kid friendly and they have toys and Netflix equipped to keeps the kids entertained if there’s a wait/during the cut. Cost was $21 which I think is pretty standard for this dc region where everything is so darn pricy. Because my daughter seemed entertained I even considered getting my hair cut here but they do not do women’s. I appreciate them being honest rather than attempting and destroying my hair
My kid will currently not sit for a haircut without tears and all that goes with tears. It did not phase Westover Barbershop! We moved the hair cut to the train table so he could play while he got his hair cut! She was flexible and loving to my boy, plus she gave him a great haircut! I will go nowhere else now!
Best place in Arlington for kids haircuts. Annie, the owner, is great, and the other barbers are great as well. I stopped getting $50 haircuts at a fancy salon and get a great cut for $19 here instead.
Great place. Love the haircut and my son loved the train set and tv with a kid show. Looks like its also a nice place for mens cuts, so thats great for knocking both out at once.
Took my 2.5 year old who does not like to get his hair cut. This is his 5th haircut, but its usually a struggle. This was our first time at Westover Barber Shop. Im not going to say he cooperated effortlessly, but Annie was SO SO SO patient, playful and engaging with my son - I know that helped set a good tone and build a much better experience for him. We were able to get him to sit on my lap (facing me) while Annie did his hair cut. When we got home, my son talked abut the train set they had at the shop (which makes me think that something good stuck in his mind, midst the trauma of getting his hair cut). We will be going back!
I have been taking my two and a half year old here for about a year. They are great with him. My child even asks when he can go get a haircut so that he can play with the train set they have.
A great place for kids haircuts. Miss Annie is especially good with kids. There can be a long wait on weekends.
This is the BEST PLACE to go for kids haircuts. Annie is everyones favorite for little girls. We like Tran and Roger, though they are all good. They do a lot of babys first haircuts here as well. Also, no clipper cuts! Use scissors for everything and even used thinning shears on my son (he needed it). Cant say enough good things.
Very attentive and patient with young customers, good place for toddler/children haircuts. Prices are reasonable for the area.
Best kids barber ever, they are very patient with kids, and they have playing area and free popcorn.Absolutely love the experience
They gave me a great haircut and shave.
Great place to bring the kids with a popcorn machine, train set and a tv playing kids movies.
Always a nice experience.
Excellent barber, great for kids. Roger does a great job.
The best spot for toddler cuts. They do dads too.
Great for kids, and Rodger does a great mens cut.
The staff, and particularly the owner Annie, are great with giving children haircuts.
Popcorn for kids, train, and good atmosphere. Cash only.
Wonderful ownership with a welcoming staff for all ages.
They are great with children. They are not as familiar with African American hair.
Good place for kids!
Extremely helpful with kids haircuts
Basic barber shop that over charges for kids haircuts.
Good people and good haircuts
Ive been getting my hair cut here for more than 20 years. The people there are like family and friends. I wouldnt go anywhere else.
If I could it would be zero stars. I said five times to cut one section of hair. She proceeds to start cutting it all. Thankfully I stopped her right away. If you dont understand the customer, ask.
We love Annie
Great for kids
Unprofessional and rude!!!
