This is a nursery specializing in Asian gardening. They have bonsai, orchids, Asian vegetables and herbs, etc. We have a Japanese garden. We looked in several local nurseries for blue junipers. Not only that, but we looked online. This place had the fullest and most vibrant. And well-priced too. From the photos, you’ll see they have many various sections. Spend some time looking. It’s like taking a trip to Asia. You won’t see it as a typical nursery. The Vietnamese staff were helpful with carrying our plants. We were so happy with the junipers we bought. We came back for more.I think you should visit this gem of a nursery.
They have a great selection and very nice people very helpful I will definitely be going back for more trees and plants.
I have enjoyed every visit. I love my bonsi and bamboo. I also get herbs and fruit trees from here. A few times I have gone for knowledge in order to save a plant. They have a wider knowledge base unlike some other nurseries I have visited. Forever a customer!
They have plenty of asian plants, veggies and fruits to choose from, I would go there every planting season but would never will, its overpriced and taxed you 30 percent! Beware ask for receipt. I suggest Doans in Irving, best and affordable!
1st off they have a large German shepherd in a cage in this heat and his water was dirty! It was all green. It is too hot to be in this heat!!!! 2nd there was noone to be seen.
Customer service was great, they had different variety to select from, and the plants had tags with the name and how to take care of them. I bought a lot and will be going back for more. Please add more fruit trees. Thanks
As other reviewers have stated, this nursery does carry a decent supply of somewhat rare plant species. However, the condition of the plants here is quite depressing to say the least. Several of the bonsai trees have lost most, if not all, their leaves and the leaves that remained were beginning to yellow or rust. There was also countless pools of dirty standing water within the greenhouses which is bound to be a haven for mosquitoes if it isn’t addressed in the near future. The location is definitely understaffed with most employees knowing only Vietnamese or Spanish. Likely due in part to these language barriers, there is this air of hostility between the customers and the workers. I had workers rudely push past me without even a gesture of an apology and the woman who I assume is one of the owners here would just glare at me in silence even when I greeted her. The one exception during my visit was a polite young man who was quite knowledgeable and articulate while offering me his assistance. Be sure to get his help if you plan on visiting.
I dont have a rating. Its definitely a good place to visit to see plants. Its more expensive than a Lenos in Mansfeild or just going to Lowes, so I didnt buy anything. They do have a good variety. It is centrally located in Arlington. You may have to ask for help if needed.
Have a permanent selection of trees suitable for Texas and a variety of exotic trees and plants that are hard to find otherwise such as mango, lychee which mainstream garden centers don’t carry. No return or exchange policy may be why the risk is passed to the buyer. I usually go there for Asian herbs and vegetables. A reasonable selection at great prices. Not too many staff and they mostly speak Spanish or Vietnamese.
Good price and variety
I dont know. Never been there
Worst nursery I’ve ever been to. Just asking simple questions and they will always respond in the rudest way. This has happened every time I visit.
They have great selection of trees, bonsai and hard to find plants. Staff who works there are very friendly and the selection of bonsai is phenomenal! Shop local!I came back after covid-19 restrictions lifted. Its too depressed to see all the dead plants in the greenhouse. An orchid I posted without price tag was $275.00! There were lots of other fruit trees and shrubs on sale outdoor.
Almost nothing is priced, and was very confused about the one item I asked about when the person working the register yelled at me that it was a vendor I think. The only other time Ive been, I went inside, browsed for 5 minutes, and had a worker tell me they were closed- despite it being business hours and the same person having seen me walk in earlier. I personally dont plan on coming back. They have some beautiful material but I couldnt even tell you if the prices are decent.
What a hidden gem!! They have some great luscious plants that are nicely priced! Our family recommends this lovely place!!! ❤
This place is so lovely. A definite Mom&Pop style. Cool stop for plant lovers.
Ask to see their house plants. They will find all the coolest plants for you to take home. And even though they really dont speak english, theyll look up the english names of the plants if you ask. I highly recommend stopping by.
Unprofessional staff can’t be found. Wandered around for 15 minutes before finding someone who worked here. Plants prices are labeled wrong and staff gets irritated when you expect the labeled price. Much too expensive, and most plants are half dead. “Workers” don’t work, just sit in the small air conditioned room watching the surveillance cameras and act mad that you want to buy their product. Not sure how they are still in business. Been once and won’t be back. I’ll be sure to spread the word to my plant lovers- GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.
What a local treasure! Just come to see the world class bonsai and you will be amazed. Buying bonsai privately is expenive because people overvalue their own stock, so I buy quality bonsai (big and small) from them at consistently fair prices and I know theyre healthy trees. And they also have many other nursery items you wont find at big home improvement stores or chain nurseries that only carry the typical young stock.
Ive passed by many times but never got to go in. I remembered it was by that huge mall of a beauty supply store. It was larger than I would have thought. It was like a botanical garden and greenhouse all rolled into one. Im an avid nature lover so I honestly didnt wander around looking for help. A few workers did their maintence quietly and respected my presence. The most amazing thing for me was how peaceful everything was with fountains, trees, flowers etc. Butterflies! There was a ton of young/mature citrus trees and lots of edible things I had only saw on cooking shows. The bonsai I saw were magnificent, healthy, and emmited strength. I look forward to going back and getting a red maple and a few other goodies. The woman at the cash register was very nice. I just wanted to leave a review of my experience. It really is a hidden gem. I saw most complain about the expense but I think perhaps theyre used to Home Depot etc. Most of the pieces at Tea Garden are mature and lovingly cared for. If youre buying hanging or potted houseplants, I feel those are about the range of anywhere else.
Beautiful bonsai’s, incredibly rude staff. I went in to find bonsai soil or the rocks I needed to make my own and the lady at the counter, who’s English wasn’t that great, tried to sell me one 5lb bag of rocks for $45! (I later learned from someone there that they make their own mix, so $45 is absolutely ridiculous)I asked her what I needed to make my own mix and she told me to ask one of the men that worked there who happened to be gossiping, I asked him for help and he pretended not to speak any English at all even though I’d heard his entire conversation in perfect English! I left fuming because no one wanted to help me, I won’t be going back. There’s a Calloway’s nursery in Arlington with much better service!
The lady was very rude.... I vote visited this place twice and on both visits didn’t like them... they talk down to the customers....
Variety of plants is great. They have quite a few magnificent bonsai. Not a lot of staff wandering around to answer questions if you need that.
One word....Horrible ! The customer service here sucks. There is no one here to help you and no price label. I finally found an old vietnamese lady and asked her for help. She appears grumpy as if she doesnt like the sun or something. She came to see the plant I was asking for...told me the price and immediately ran inside to the air conditioned. Didny even gave me a chance to ask anything else.My first time here and will also be my last.
I wish there was other places that sells similar flowers & plants etc. The older lady is extremely rude. Maybe thats why their customer service is so terrible because they have no competitors
Very good. The young man that seemed to run the place came up to me and asked if I needed any help, helped me with price, repotting and health care of the bonsai I purchased.I will be back again for future purchases.
Really REALLY expensive, went to look for bonsai trees and they range from $155 for small indoor ones to $7400 for ones that actually look decent. They have a wide section of other plants but geez 7k for a tree? thats a down payment on a car or a house even! if your planning to buy just plan to spend more than what you would at home depot or lowes if your looking for a special plant!
If you said we bought the tree from you after we paid and walk out of the door...NO RETURN !NO REPLACE! NO PHONE CALL. !Must Hang in there...Never ever go back. I will tell people who ever plan to buy any tree from there. Please go somewhere else.I wanna share info one star that not means nothing just only I can post
Yeah love the environment there better pricing and very knowledgeable employees unlike most of these lets not go there though really friendly nice service really keep up the good work gallery have a nice day happy shopping
BAD SERVICE. RUDE, AND UNPROFESSIONAL.For years I has been to their store. We spent a lot of money each years with them,,Recently i went to their store for some flowers for the Chinese New Year.I came in 3 straight days and spent around $300 bucks,I bought some orchids this time, 1 of the orchid the flowers start to die since we just bought it the day before, so i told my wife to take it back for an exchange, this morning my wife came to see if we can exchanged for another orchid, The old women of the owner mom yelling at my wife for bring it back, she blame on us that because the driving probably causing the orchid to die, She refused to talk to me when i heard and came to their store,These people are money sucker !, they love your money but when it came to this kind of things they refused to taking care of their customer.Well thank you so much for showing me how you conduct your business even thought we has gave them chances after chances,,, Not this time i will took my money down to Caloway or Home DepotFYI. tom thumb has some really nice and heathy orchids and they do warranty for 30 days.be careful buyer they never post a price tag on the plants. They price by how you look.,awful way of doing business!
This is the best Nursery to buy plants and flowers, they are so unique and beautiful! The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable with plants.
Was able to was around and view things with freedom and knowledgable staff that was helpful when needed, great place, unbelievably beautiful bonsai.
I just call and some kind of asian lady answer so frustrated.she said she dint understand what i said but i ask her the second time and she said no,no,no.and only have 1 plant of 3 that i ask her.so rude so unprofessional.
I love this place they are good people and they have good service
Their prices are a mess, I was gonna buy something that had a $150 price tag and when I was gonna pay the lady said it was supposed to be $250 turns out they had the wrong tag...as a customer I think they very unprofessional and I believe they shouldve respected the price tag and they need to make sure all their prices are correct therefore I wont recommend buying at this place you probably get a better price at Home Depot.
This place is like a TARDIS. Theres more on the inside than seems possible.
They are rude and are very expensive
I went to the tea garden and i purchased flowers, and two days later the flowers died. I tried to go back to replace the flowers, i didnt even want my money back. The owner was really rude about the whole ordeal.
