Great farm to pick up strawberries literally at your own backyard for whole family. Strawberries are sweet and juicy & home made ice cream the best ‼️We appreciate & support you for several years.

These strawberries are better here than in-store. Delicious to instantly eat there and good for pies. Would recommend for the spring and maybe summer season.

A fun place to pick strawberries. The farm has a good setup for people to participate without being on top of each other.Prices are not over the top expensive either. Whole family enjoyed the experience and it was fun the kids and grandparents to be actively involved in the same task.

The ice cream in here is delicious! I have tried blueberry and strawberry, I want to go back just to try the other flavors. Pumpkin, jalapeno and other two. They are organized, you wont walk all over the place, you should find enough strawberries in the line you are assigned. You will find parking spot without problem, there are some tables where you can sit afterwards to enjoy the ice cream

Such a great experience! We discovered this place on a field trip and we have been back year after year. Easy parking, delicious bbq for sale on the weekends, yummy ice cream available every day and the strawberries were great! Also, the kids loved searching for the peacock who lives on the property and visiting the horse and goats. Love supporting local business owners as well!

One of my favorite u-pick locations. Very hospitable people run the location and are always welcoming. My kids love the peacocks and horses. Their strawberry and especially the fresh blueberry ice-cream is incredible. If they could make a dairy free version of the fresh blueberry ice-cream, Id probably buy a case of it.

What a wonderful place to spend time as a family. Buckweat not only has some of the best tasty treats around like strawberries, ice cream and jam but they also have a beautiful peacock, goats and two horses to look at while your there. The farm very close to the heart of Apex and is ran by two wonderful people, James and Karma. I would highly recommend this place for anyone and everyone!

The first weekend in May 2017 was our second trip to the farm since our first time in May 2016. We chose the strawberry type on the left. The kids got a full bucket each. These were some of the sweetest, juiciest strawberries weve ever picked. Great crop despite the freeze!

Great place to get local strawberries! Ask for seconds to get super cheap berries for jam (bruised, old, or injured berries). Friendly horses, nice picnic area. Berries are very large but still sweet.

Great place to pick strawberries with the kids. They have horses, goats and peacocks for the kids to check out. During the season, they also have homemade ice cream and other great ways to spend your money and support local farmers.

This is a seasonal location, strawberry fields being the main draw. Its very kid friendly, with picnic tables under shade trees. You bring your own baskets and pick berries from two varieties, one being sweeter and the other having a longer shelf life. The cost is only $2.10/lb. which is much lower than most such places. They sell homemade ice cream too, very tasty, in flavors of peach, blueberry, strawberry, sweet potato, and even jalapeno! But it is a bit expensive at $3.50 per pre-packed dish, about 5 ounces. Its really a fun place to spend an hour or two.

This place is cool! The customer service is very rude though! We will stick DJ’ berry patch. We thought we would go her because they opened earlier than Dj’s On Sundays. Huge mistake. Also DJ’s has way more strawberries. Buck wheat was low on strawberries.

This used to be an excellent location for PYO strawberries but for the past 2 years they simply dont seem to have have enough berries to pick, at least on the weekend. We were there on Saturday shortly after 9 am, spent almost an hour and for the two of us barely picked 2 pounds (less than a small plastic bucket). And we were quite lucky because anyone arriving later would have tough luck finding 20 berries that were not rotten or barely pink. Its the peak of the season and I checked their website and FB before coming - it said they had berries. I understand there is no guarantee but when we got there people were leaving already with very few berries and the fields looked baren. If you run out then just be honest and say so.Its a neat little farm but there seems to be no management of the picking process. The fields are pretty much free for all (they ask to use the flags but 90% of people never do that). If you can only be here on the weekend youre likely to find empty fields simply because theyve already been picked over during the week. But the owners wont tell you that, unfortunately. The same exact story happened last year and I doubt well be back again.
