Service here is quick and easy on the wallet! The staff is great. They are honest and efficient. I thought i needed new brake pads because they were squeaking so much and my technician told me they were fine, we don’t need to replace them. I wanted them to be replaced anyway to get rid of the squeak but most shops won’t tell you the truth and i’m glad A-1 does! Highly recommend

Had a tough bolt to remove from a steering stabilizer on a jeep. Was at another shop earlier that day and the mechanic looked it tried one thing and said he wasnt sure what to do and recommended I replace the entire tie rod that the bolt went into which was $150 just for that one part. I already had the replacement part and just needed the bolt removed and realized a shop prob wouldnt want to screw around with it. Stopped by A-1 and even though they were packed, they looked at it & asked if I had the new part which I did and only charge me $25 to remove the old one and put on the new one. He had do some extra work & use a torch to heat things up and still only wanted to charge me $25.Got a alignment as well, great prices and great service, no one there slows down at all :)

I do my own work on my vehicles with a mechanical background, so I cannot speak on their auto repair end other than hearing whats said to customers while Im waiting on exhaust work. They seem very honest to customers and they do honest work. I head in for exhaust work mostly, as I dont want to mess with it. Ive been in multiple times with 3 trucks and 4 muffler installs. The work done is high quality and I have become loyal to them for that. Labor is fair and affordable. I always recommend anyone I know here who wants good exhaust work and clean welding done.

This place is awesome! I needed a catalytic converter put on before my temporary permit ran out and the price they quoted was very reasonable. They finished the work the same day even though I brought it to them late in the day. Nice people to deal with. Highly recommend them!

After reading all the great reviews i took my 1965 chevelle Malibu in to A1 auto & Muffler to have some exhaust work done picked my car up later that day and was amazed at the great work that was done could not of asked for better work would highly recommend them for any and all of your exhaust work needs !!!

My Brother, Mother, and I all have brought our vehicles here for repairs, when we didnt want to do the work ourselves. Main reasons: Steve the owner, gives accurate repair diagnosis & cost estimates. He will tell you what the most pressing repairs are, and which can be put off til later if you need to spread out repairs. Steve has excellent mechanics. Does exhaust & alignments also. Repaired the A/C in my classic car for under $100 !! So my family has always relied onA-1 for repairs & upgrades to our vehicles. It is SO WORTH making an appointment to have your vehicle checked here for what is ailing it !! They dont give you bogus answers, but HONEST ones !! I refer all my friends to A-1, even if they live in Phoenix. Thats how much I trust this shop ! ( there is also a great sandwich shop where you can sit, grab a bite or a drink, or icecream. Right next to A-1. I TOTALLY RECOMMEND THIS LADYS SANDWICH SHOP TOO!!)

Had alternator replace have had great service before so went back. Part order 24 hrs before apptmement. Bigger blonde girl was so rude. I will never do business there again truck and I sat there for 25-30 minutes while no one touched my truck. Was charged for 1 hour. What a joke. After saying how poor they were professional think they could do so much better. Did get labor right but she did not want me to post about my visit. Not a good visit in any way.

Ive been going to A-1 for around 5 years now and weirdly enough I was recommended to them by another automotive shop that couldnt solve the problem so sent me to to A-1. Steven is a top notch mechanic who easily figured out the problem and fixed it. Ive found the same with the other techs that work there. They are honest and get the job done right. The main thing with an auto mechanic is TRUST. Trust that they are capable and they will tell you the truth and then get the job done for a fair price. In my experience, Steven and A-1 Auto repair do that every time and I will continue going there and recommending everyone I know to go there. Great guys/Gals, great shop!

I love this shop.. I live in Tempe but always take my truck to them even though its 30 mins away. I have a 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe with 249,000 miles on it.. they replaced my fuel pump first had it done in a few hours.. then about a week later something else was going on..truck wouldnt stay running so I thought the fuel pump went out again.. had it towed there and Steve spent most of the day trying to figure out what was wrong.. fuel pump was good.. after a few hours he called me and said that one of my valves broke in one of the cylinders.. he said he would replace it but it might not do anything..he said the motor could be junk but he called back and said I was really lucky that he got it in and the was no damage from the broken valve...He worked on thing most of the day and only charged me 470 bucks I know if I was Any where else it would easily been over a 1,000 bucks... so thanks Steve!! Am actually taking my truck down the in about a hour to get my AC compressor fixed..!! Thank you for everything!! You guys are great!!

These guys are awesome. Ive taken a couple vehicles to them and have had a great experience each time. As a automotive enthusiast Im really picky and prefer to do most of my own mechanic work but whenever there is something I dont have tools for or the job is more specialized I go to these guys. Their shop is very clean and organized and the mechanics always take the time to explain what and why they are doing something a certain way. From what I can tell by watching them they are doing it the RIGHT way. Did I mention their prices are very fair as well. Ill definitely be back.

In my experience, this garage always gives me a quick and accurate diagnosis, and then offers me the most affordable repair options. Sometimes they go above and beyond, doing extra little things without charging extra. The staff is patient and happy to answer my questions about the problems and the repairs.When it comes to car repairs, I never know who to trust, but I feel like I can trust the people at this place.

I took my truck in to get exhaust done and an alignment. When I picked up the truck every cotter pin was missing on all the castle nuts. They charged three hours labor to remove three studs. They will not answer or return any of my calls. I recommend going elsewhere.

Very very honest. Dont try to fix stuff that doesnt need to be fixed. Only charge you for the labor time that it actually took. On 7/12/2019 took my daughters car in for repairs and the mechanic and office staff stayed over 1.5 hours after they closed to finish her car so that she would have it for work. Went above and beyond fixing wiring that was in bad shape and didnt charge anything for it. Stand behind thier work. Would recommend them to anyone.Very hard to find an honest shop these days that doesnt take you to the woodshed...this isnt one of them.

This is one honest down to earth garage. Had some exhaust pipe repairs done on two cars; they used their welding expertise to fix instead of replace parts saving me time and money. Also had some under the hood work done; their fees were spot on and I couldnt be more satisfied. Good auto mechanics are harder to find than good doctors. This is one of them. Great place.

Very cool guys. I went to get a muffler installed on my car and they got it done superfast and at a better price than any of the other local shops I called. While I was waiting, an older gentleman came in to get something welded on his car and the front lady told him they go by appointments for the welding and the soonest they could get him in would be next Tuesday. He was a little upset because he was going out of state the next day. Well, the worker that helped with my exhaust, came in and asked him about what he needed and told him he would look at it. When I went outside to pick up my car after it was finished, they were working on the guys car. Great people and very honest. Everyone there is very helpful and professional. I wish I wouldve found out about this place sooner.

Truly honest mechanic. I have been quoted difference prices and different issues from others. I went to A1 based on the great reviews I read. The place lived up to its reputation. They fixed what was needed and not do other crazy to make profits. The place looks run down. But dont judge the book by its cover. This place is wonderful. They know what they are doing and the price is attractive. I am glad I discovered this place for future services. A good and honest mechanic is hard to find.

Very friendly folks! My vehicle was thoroughly inspected and properly diagnosed. I had an appointment but two days earlier the unexpected occurred and I showed up unannounced. They took my vehicle in, inspected and test drove it immediately! I had a laundry list from another shop that turned out to be inaccurate.Thank you A-1 for keeping me safe and saving me money (by not recommending unnecessary repairs). They are honest and excellent at working on vehicles. I always go to them and trust them with all our cars. They have told me what was wrong with my van and how much it would be. Then sometimes it wouldnt be that much because they would find it didnt take that long to fix or it wasnt the part that they thought it would be. There are no surprises with them and I highly recommend them!

Very DISHONEST mechanics and VERY UNHAPPY with my experience here. I took my car in to have my timing belt, power steering pump, and water pump replaced. Paid them $733.xx to do so, and was totally fine with that.I went to go pick up my vehicle when they finished and right as i turn my steering wheel to pull out of the parking space it made this loud vibrating noise. I thought maybe it was just the first initial go from the work they did so i pulled out of the lot and didnt even get a mile down the road and it was still vibrating and started making a loud clunking noise. So i drove back down and had them look at it, one of the mechanics took it for a test drive with me and said he thinks it was my motor mounts. So he goes back to the shop, pulls it under and verified with me the rear motor mount was broken.It honestly shocked me cause yes I am aware my motor mounts are old but they werent making ANY noise before they worked on it not even a vibrate, and now all of a sudden its broken. So stressed and kind of irritated I left and had a different shop replace it the next day paying another $339.xx to have it fixed. So I called A-1 Auto back and spoke with Steve the manager. Tried to explain the situation on how there was NO clunking or vibrating before they worked on it and now its broken and I personally feel like I shouldnt have had to have paid for the labor on something that wasnt broken before they worked on it. As we tried explaining the situation over the phone to Steve, he sat there and argued with us and would barely even let us talk and just kept telling us the motor mounts go bad and he test drove the car himself after they worked on it and felt it vibrating from the motor mounts being bad. Even though the motor mount wasnt just bad, IT WAS BROKEN. So that right there pissed me off due to the fact that it was never an issue before they worked on it and all of a sudden now that they worked on it, it broke and they NEVER EVEN MADE ME AWARE OF IT before letting me leave the shop the first time. I personally feel like that is a VERY dishonest mechanic. He tried blaming it on the fact that he doesnt address those situations to customers unless they come in asking about them but EVERYONE I have told that to have ALL said that is very dishonest. SPECIALLY when it wasnt something that was happening before they worked on it. So Steve told me to bring the broken piece in and wed go from there. So today I had brought the broken rear motor mount in to them and talked to Steve, he sat there and argued with me the whole time how it breaking wasnt their fault, and then he said when he test drove it he heard NOTHING. So now his story changed from on the phone to hearing it vibrate when he test drove it to now hearing nothing. DISHONEST once again. So he sat and argued with me and I told him Id gladly take the cut on paying for the parts and supplies but I personally dont feel like I should of paid for the labor and he just kept arguing so i left because it wasnt going anywhere.I personally feel like this shop does have good pricing, but their customer service is horrible. Steve was just plain dishonest the whole time and anyone I know would of appreciated them letting them know what a VERY noticeable and NEW horrible vibrating clunking sound is after the shop just worked on it. I personally will never be doing business with A-1 Auto again and would rather pay a bit more for more honest and reliable mechanics and better service.

A recent transplant to Arizona (moved here 2 days ago from Wisconsin), I had no idea where to go for service so I turned to Google... Car repair near me. I called a few places and without a referral all I had to base my decision on was their customer service over the phone. I booked an appointment with A-1 and I cant tell you how pleased I was with the level of service and the quality of work; personal, conscientious and affordable. The mechanic took me through what was causing the problem and explained potential and probable needs that would be forthcoming.Even the other customers raved about their experiences while waiting. I dont recommend many establishments and giving someone 5 stars .... only 1 time before. Im excited to tell people about A-1 Auto in AJ and will remain a loyal customer.

I brought my Nissan Titan to get the flowmasters series 40 installed called for a quote (Im in the car business and I wasnt going to hold them against them) I shopped around before I set an appointment and even though A1 came back with a higher price than their original quote They bet every bodys price and I agreed! The best part 30mins later I was on the road! I feel like they are reasonable on price. I have a buddy of mine that want to do a muffler job and Im going to highly recommend A1 mufflers to all of my friends.

Terrible no business there .at all I went to get estimate to replace my bad Catalytic Converter Which I had purchased online Hundreds Less than anyone local then this guy said to install it 2 hrs or more @$ 250.00 plus tax OMG 6 LITTLE BOLTS, NO WELDING REQUIRED 🙂I SAID HWY ROBBERY HE SAID ITS A HARD ONE TO COMPLETE I SAID BS I LOOKED AT IT .THEN LEFT TOOK ME 20 MIN MYSELF THATS JACKING IT UP REMOVING THE CONVERTER THEN INSTALLING NEW NUTS BOLTS WITH DIRECT FIT CONVERTER SAVED ABOUT 300.00 GLAD I DID IT MYSELF I KNOW IT WAS DONE RIGHT PLUS DIDNT GET ROBBED

Just put my jeep in the shop A1 automotive on ironwood and apache trail. Little did they know I already had my jeep checked out. But a new noise picked up in my rear end in the last couple weeks. HAHA these guys gave me the most honest car diagnostic. Did not try to add anything. Let me know my jeep is solid the noise is in my rear end but its a jeep should be alright. So all that info cost me $25. I was so happy with there honesty I decided to let them fix my small leaking power steering hose for another $105. Well worth it to me just to know I can take my jeep somewhere I can trust.
