Rented a vehicle on their website on June 25, 2021 to be picked up on July 8, 2021. Plenty of time to ensure that a vehicle was ready to be rented. The vehicle that we received was dirty and only had 1/4 tank of gas. The representative did not even get up from his chair to check the vehicle. Half way through the trip, the brakes started acting up. Tried calling their 800 number with no luck. We ended up taking the vehicle to the Beaumont, Texas airport location where we were given an upgrade with a different vehicle. The Beaumont staff was very helpful with the transaction. The windshield had a crack in it which was noted on the paperwork. Returned this vehicle to the Anniston location on July 15, 2021. Once again, the guy never left his chair to look over the vehicle. I was issued a new invoice with a different amount. Upon reviewing my credit card statement, I have two charges from Budget Rental which I will have to dispute. When calling this location, I get a faxed machine. Have contacted Budget Rental customer service but have not heard from them. Will contact my credit card company to dispute the charge. Please do not waste your time or money going to this Anniston location. I wont say that all locations are bad as we were treated professionally with the Texas location but the next time I need to rent a vehicle, I will go with Enterprise. (Would not let me post without giving a least a one star - as far as Im concerned this should have been a negative five).
Booked a car and paid online with my debit card. Went to pick up the car and they wouldnt accept my card at the desk when they were preparing the paperwork for the rental (you have to show them the card you used to purchase the rental so they can put it on file). Said that my type of debit card wasnt accepted *even though their online system had no problem taking our money from that same card* . She said they would need either a credit card or a debit card from a bank, which I had neither. So I leave and drive around all over anniston looking for a bank that would issue me a debit card same day, finally ended up finding a bank with same day debit cards and went back to pick the car up. I give them the new debit card, which they accepted, but then they tell me that not only do they not have the car we had booked to rent, but they dont have a car for us to rent at all. Not a single car on their lot to rent us. She couldve told me that when I first got there, before they had me run all over town for an hour and a half looking for the card they wanted me to use. The level of incompetency here is insane. The lady just kept blaming corporate for everything, wouldnt take responsibility for any mistake made on her end at all, and was all around unprofessional. All of that and they wouldnt issue a refund, gotta call an 800 number for that, and even then there is a $150 cancellation fee, so were out $150 bucks (it was a $300 rental). Scammed me right out of 150 bucks of my hard earned money. I am astounded for real. Youre a fool if you do business with this company.
Ankeny Iowa. Car was filthy dirty when I picked it up . Told Sam about it when I returned the car. Said he would check into it. Call me 10 minutes later and said I had dogs in car. I did not have dogs in car. Said if I argued with him he would charge me more. Charged me additional $499.00 for car cleaning. Car even had old French fries and candy wrappers plus muddy floor mats. Now having to dispute the issue with credit card Also said we smoked in car. We don’t smoke
Worst rental experience ever.Read the reviews you book online they don’t have the vehicle. They don’t care. Save yourself some trouble and head over to Enterprise Anniston!
**BEWARE** Super shady business!! On 11/11/20, I made a reservation to pick up on 11/12/20. When I got to this location on pickup day there was a sign on the door that said “we are sorry for any inconvenience, but we had to close today. Please call customer service.” Customer service escalated my call, and told me I could rent from a competitor and they would reimburse the difference. So I did, and now they will not reimburse me because I had an SUV reserved with them and rented the only thing available from a competitor, a Ford Taurus (A CHEAPER VEHICLE). It was their way of getting out of paying me!! So now I lost my prepayment with them $100 and had to pay the bill from the competitor $300. So good luck renting from these guys. **It is a gambling game and the house always wins**
Very bad service we rented a car and they didn’t have it when we got there. Very mad and the person didn’t give us options.
