Joey cut and styled my hair!I had gotten a haircut a month ago from someone else and was looking for someone new to change up my hair. After reading a lot of good reviews and seeing a lot of photos of good haircuts from customers that went to J&J hair salon, I knew I had found the best place to go to!I am really satisfied with my haircut/service because Joey took the time to analyze my hair and fix it! Before the haircut, my hair was uneven and parts of it were cut too short. Joey fixed the unevenness and blended the parts that were too short. After washing my hair, he also taught me how to style my hair with a blow dryer and wax! (I was given the option of wax or gel but I asked for wax because I use wax at home! )I have never had a haircut where the person really analyzed my hair and cut it in a way that really suited my head shape like Joey did! I am happy with the outcome and will definitely be coming back!

Joey and Jenny are great! Joey is one of only two barbers that I’ve been to that know how to cut my difficult hair. Jenny does an amazing job with my fiancée’s hair as well. They both take their time with each customer to make sure everything looks good.

Even the interior atmosphere of the shop has the air of warmth and comfort. It feels relaxing to be there! Out of many great things about this salon, the thing I love most about Jenny and Joey is that theyre very open to your needs so all you need to do is to state clearly what you want and theyll do their best to match it. Thats really hard to come by these days where stylists do whatever they want.For all those that want to try this place, here is a tip: Since I have been coming here for nearly 4 years, I can safely say that in order have the best experience possible, you need be on time and to state clearly of what you want. It pains me to see the negative reviews about this place. Jenny and Joey are really professional and courteous! The last thing they would want is to ruin your haircut experience.Speaking of negative reviews, it seems that a lot of the negativity comes from the passive-aggressive people who didnt properly communicate what he/she wants OR was late to the appointment. Knowing how kind and attentive Jenny and Joey are to their customers, I cant believe they would try to give a negative experience to anyone. I bet the people who complained were those who gave vague--or ambiguous--requests and got disappointed afterwards. You need to voice your opinion during the cutting process. I mean, isnt that what mirrors are for? You can clearly see the way your hair is being cut so why stay quiet when things go wrong? Also, this isnt some walk-in shop where the owners will be okay with you being late to the appointment. You being late does a big disservice to the owners and other customers who were on time.This is a fantastic place and I wish more people would come. I still believe this is the best hair salon in this area. Come try it out--its only one haircut after all. If you arent satisfied, you can always go other salons and be disappointed like I was before settling with JJ Hair Salon.

Today was my 2nd time getting a hair cut from Jenny at JJ Salon & Barber and it was exactly what I wanted. I have extremely thick, Asian hair and I dont trust most hair dressers to know what to do with it. Jenny thins it out for me so it becomes a normal amount of thickness and is much easier for me to manage. Today I wasnt sure what style I wanted other than a trim, so I went with her suggestion to layer the front and I am very happy with it. I will definitely come back every time I need a hair cut, thank you Jenny & Joey!

Well, I didn’t really get a chance to get the service I was looking for since she basically turned down my appointment because of 10mins late, there’s kind of a traffic going there, but oh well. Probably I won’t come back since it did not work out well the first time. I just wished she took a bit of a consideration for me it was my first time going there.

Stay away from this. Read the bad reviews before you thinking about giving this place a try. I didnt and I am now crying. it wasnt super bad when she styled but after a shower, you will see all the choppy bad uneven.

Terrible. I asked for semi-thick bangs that transition smoothly, I even showed her the picture. But my hair came out too thick and choppy… the worst part is that it’s too short, she cut the bangs right on my eyebrow. She didn’t take time to part my hair right or analyze the picture, she just cut it straight across. All that for $55. Will never recommend to anybody I know.

Very polite staff. Appointment was easy to make and the place seemed clean and safe during Covid time. I showed Jenny pictures of my previous haircut, and the result came out almost identical. I could tell the people working there were experienced and patient. Very satisfied with my first visit!

Very bad experience this morning as I went to get a hair This morning. The guy doesn’t know what he’s doing. He has a very bad technique for cutting hair, he chopped off a big portion of hair from the front side knowing I explained to him how I want my hair to be cut and even showed him a picture as an example. I ended up having to go to an other place and completely shave my head, because the front was too short to fix . Very disappointed with this place

Best haircut since ive moved to VA. Amazing barbershop and salon for your time/money. Joey and Jenny are both amazing people who are extremely good at what they do. Ive gotten my hair permed and cut by both of them. I drive one hour for their services because they never make a mistake. I highly recommend this place :)

This was my second haircut from JJ salon and Joey is not only extremely professionalism but attentive and kind. This is the only barbershop experience where it feels like a relaxation/therapy session and not just a number being pushed through, will definitely be returning (again).

I went there for the first time, and the service was so good and the skills were so good that I was satisfied with it. I strongly recommend it!

For a long time, I didnt get more than a buzz cut because barbers so frequently gave me terrible haircuts. Joey has a done a great job with a few different styles and I feel a lot more confident now because of it and actually enjoy how my hair looks. Both Joey and Jenny are very nice and professional. The shop is immaculate and they clearly take cleanliness and sanitary precautions very seriously.

Joey started out great and was very attentive, but he started rushing through my haircuts and cutting unevenly as a result. Sorry to say I’m disappointed. Small businesses live and die on good reviews, repeat customers, and referrals. He should think carefully about giving all clients proper time and attention, even if he doesn’t feel like doing it.

I got my hair cut with Joey, one half of the JJ Salon team, the other beings he’s partner and wife Jenny. The haircut was done exactly how I wanted. Joey is very detailed oriented and professional. It was my first time here and Jenny was superb! I’ve been to many barber shops and none of the barbers have cut my hair the way I wanted. Jenny spent a lot of time making sure my haircut was to my liking, even the small and minute details. 10/10 would recommend, and I’ll come back in the future for sure.

This is the best cut I’ve ever received. I called in the morning to schedule a Perm for 5pm on the same day; I was a little late due to work and Jenny was cool with it and worked quickly. The result was surprising and I felt like a different yet better person. Jenny is an ARTIST; she is very meticulous and detail-oriented. It was already late but she went back and forth with washes and small cuts to ensure my hair looked its best. I will always come back to Jenny no matter where I am. I’d fly from NYC just to get a hair cut here.

Jenny is the absolute best hair dresser in the area. I dont care about any of the more expensive places, this lady is the best. She deals with my very colored and damaged hair so well, it always is wonderfully soft regardless.

Normally I dont style my hair at a salon, but Joey and Jenny have always done a great job with my boyfriends hair, so I decided to give it a try. Jenny was wonderful! I didnt really have a clear idea of what I wanted besides taking off length and adding layers, but she really took the time to find a look that worked for me, and was warm and professional throughout the experience. I have been contemplating getting Japanese hair straightening for a very long time, Im of mixed race and I have a combination of curly frizzy and just untamed hair -down to almost my waist. I got tired of putting my hair up in a bun all the time because I was too lazy to style it so I decided for a brand new look and went with a medium length bob.After going through lots of reviews I found this place and decided to book an appointment. They were very friendly and I got scheduled right away. The wife, I think its a couple who owns this salon text me and asked me for a picture of my hair as she wanted to be sure that she was going to be able to perform the straightening on my hair type, along with a picture of what my desired result would be. Two weeks later I went in for my appointment and wow these are the friendliest nicest salon owners you can meet, they were gracious and offered me beverages and reconfirmed what I was looking to achieve with my straightening and haircut, she began the straightening which took about 3.5 hours she then cut my hair exactly like the photograph I showed her, she even gave me the razor edges that I wanted by using clippers. She is very skilled at Japanese hair straightening and does a very very thorough job. Her scissors skills are truly amazing as well.I went in for a complete overhaul and a brand new look and I got exactly what I was looking for and even better. I highly recommend this salon, not only for the excellent customer service but for the amazing skills!

I always come here to see Jenny. Shes really nice and works amazing. I wasnt too fond that they only accept cash or debit- I wish they would remind me when I make the appointment. Not a big deal, but all in all, the service is awesome!

I was in Maryland for a convention. I finished work around 5:30 on Saturday. I googled for a Korean Hair Salon and JJ Salon showed up on the search. They close at 7pm. I was hesitant to call since I knew most places wont take same day or yet same hour appointment. Nevertheless, I called and spoke to Joey. Joey got me in at 6:30pm! I arrived at 6:15pm and Joey personally greeted me. I had to wait for a bit since they were packed. Haircut started around 6:40pm. Even though the salon posted closing time is 7pm... Joey still took his time to do everything right! Very nice gentlemen and great customer service! He definitely know what hes doing! It was a great experience! My little brother recommended me this place. I was so surprised how he cut my hair. I came in there with a curly and long hair, and I wanted to make it much shorter and neat. I recommend this place and always book appointment first.

She is truly an amazing stylist! I have thick, Asian hair and sometimes getting texture is difficult, but she definitely pulls it off very well. Just show her a picture, and her quick hands will do the rest. And on top of it, just really nice people. Plus the prices are ridiculously reasonable, $40 for a womens cut and style. You cannot beat that.

Mr. Joey gave me a fantastic haircut! He not only listened to exactly what I wanted, but also showed me the best way to style it too. Ive been to salons that charge twice as much that didnt do as good of a job! I will definitely be back.

This is the best barber shop in the area, hands-down. The staff is incredibly friendly and very communicative. I did not have a reservation, but Joey made time between appointments to cut my hair. Despite this, he took his time and made sure to get it right. He listened attentively to every request, did exactly as I asked, and I left extremely happy. I definitely plan to continue going here!

Ive been going to JJs for about a year now and love it. Its a cute hair salon run by a friendly Korean couple Joey and Jenny. Joey cuts my hair and does a great job each time. Its quick, neat and good value. The great thing is that I can always get an appointment even when I call the day of or a few hours prior. The cherry on top is going out for some Korean food afterwards in one of the many great places in Annandale

Appointments highly recommended. Jenny is a gifted stylist, and takes her time with each customer to make sure the haircut is to their liking . Her husband specializes in mens haircuts and will frankly assess whether a certain style is viable given the texture of a guys hair. Ive been to multiple salons and Ive brought my family here for the prices and customer service. Expect wait times on Saturdays but they have free WiFi.

I was literally roaming around the streets of annandale for a barber shop when i first moved here and found this place. And this has been the place since. Mr joey is an experience barber and knows what hes doing. If u know how u want your hair to look like he will always do a great job to master that look. Recommended

This place is the spot to go especially if you value great customer service! Joey will listen to exactly what you ask for. I tried it on a whim and did not regret it!

Joey is very good and competent barber. The price is a little bit higher than the average in this area (12 dollars). All and all, this is a place to get a good hair cut.

What I like about Joey is that he listens to you but also offers consultation for styling. And his craft is simply better than other places.

The barber took 10 mins to set up while we were waiting. Then he had my little girl 8years old sit down on 3 different chairs. It took two barbers to work on her hair so simple. They had her stand up most time to get her haircut. These barbers dont know what theyre doing. After I asked them, is she going to be standing up the whole time while getting her haircut? They responded yes, its better. I didnt like their work ethics, Never coming back here. One of the worst barber shops ever! After all that, I kinda worked with them.
