This was our second visit to this office. My wife’s visit went smoothly and they were careful to make sure all of our questions were answered. This trip was for me. I had about a dozen skin tags removed and they were incredibly fast, competent, kind and pretty funny. The joking around with me kept the stress level down and did a lot to alleviate my anxiety during these procedures. I would recommend them.

I have been a patient at Senter Dermatology (with Dr. Janine Miller) for several appointments and found the medical experience to be among the best I’ve had. The office is clean and well-run with the staff being friendly, up-beat as well as efficient. Dr. Miller is professional, gentle, personable, empathetic and extremely knowledgable. She is never rushes through the appointment and it’s a pleasure to be able to sit and talk with her as she makes sure the patient throughly understands the problem, treatment options, etc..I have been a doctor in the health field, living in Florida for many years and have been in several dermatology practices…Florida, sun and skin problems go hand-in-hand. Center Dermatology is a great office and Dr. Miller is a great doctor…I am grateful to have found them!

The hours they keep make it difficult to catch them when you need them - every time I call, they’re either at lunch, gone for the day, or just don’t answer. Trying to get an appointment coordinated is also harder than it needs to be. They are not on top of calling in your prescriptions, either. I’ve been struggling to get my prescription filled for several months now. They even told me they sent the refill order to the pharmacy, but when I went to the pharmacy, they said it was denied by the doctor (at Senter). I called and called, but no one answers...So frustrating and irresponsible for a healthcare provider to behave this way. They need to make some changes or they’ll lose all their customers. If you have a serious condition, you would do well to use a different clinic.

Wow, its crazy how much they dont care about their patients. I will never come back. There is a reason there are so many 1 star reviews. You have been warned.I didnt have insurance at the time, and was paying out of pocket for my first appointment with them. I think thats why they didnt really care about me, they werent expecting me to come back. My appointment was at 1, I arrived at 12:40. I wasnt seen until 2 pm...One of the ladies at front was nice and asked which car was mine. She went out and put more quarters in my meter. My problem is with the doctor. I dont remember her name but she spent all of 9 minutes with me. I didnt know what was going on with my skin. She looked at my scalp and told me very nonchalantly Yep thats psoraris. She didnt offer to talk to me about it, she hardly even said anything. I sat there dumbfounded, trying to think of questions to ask, with my new diagnosed skin condition. She told me to shower in colder water, and sent me home with 2 tiny samples of shampoo. What a waste of $550. I am happily seeing another dermatologist clinic.I wish I had the doctors name, she was awful.

I had such an amazing experience here from the minute I walked in the door. The receptionist staff is very friendly and helpful. The physician I saw, Ruth, was incredible! She was very warm in her demeanor and went above and beyond for my issues. She explained things to me throughly and in a manner that was easy to understand. I have been to plenty of dermatologists over the years but never felt compelled to write a review until today. If youre looking for a demonologist in Anchorage I can not recommend this place more!

I called to makes sure I could do this on a lunch break, staff said I should be in and out in 15 minutes. I went in for a 1:45pm appointment and arrived just after 1:30pm. I was called to the back at 2:20pm and wasnt seen by a doctor until 2:35pm. Turns out the doctor was on the phone with someone giving a dictation about something. Because Im so rushed, I try to get what I have to get done fibisbed and out of there, so the appointment was terrible and I said half of what I needed to and they didnt even tell me anything.I was referred here, and all I got out of this appointment was another referral. I dont know what the point of this place is if they arent doing dermatology. This place is a scam, a rip-off, and I wouldnt suggest it if it was the last medical center in the state.Im back to square one, and will call this appointment a wash and try to meet with a center that keeps to their appointments, cares about their patients, and actually practices the medicine they claim to.

I hate this place. My initial appointment wasnt terrible, but I waited about 30 minutes past my start time to see Dr. Miller for a biopsy that took 5 minutes. Ill admit - I was unimpressed by her bedside manner and she sketched me out with her know-it-all attitude, but I decided I was being sensitive and Id give them another try. A few days later, they left a voicemail with biopsy results and I called back to schedule a removal and a full-body exam. This is where they lost me. I show up for this appointment thinking Im getting this horrid thing removed from my face. I get into the exam room and the nurse asks me, So what are we doing for you today? Seriously? That was a major red flag - they should know what Im scheduled for. Then Dr. Miller comes in and asks me how Id like the skin cancer removed. You tell me, Doc. Whats going to leave my face less scarred? She proceeds to give me minimal, dumbed-down explanations about each option, talking to me like Im an idiot and, frankly, without any compassion for my concern over scarring on my 31-year old face. She seemed to appear irritated when I wanted to take a moment to think about which option I wanted to go with (the options being a cream to apply over a few weeks or freezing). We decided on this cream which she recommended for removal. Now - thank god my mother has had skin cancers and told me about the Mohs Surgery which she had back in N.C. My husband called to ask Dr. Miller about the Mohs Surgery (we understood they dont do this at her facility, but we were still curious if it was an option) and she explained my cancer spot wasnt large enough or deep enough or something (whatever - she said I wasnt a candidate). So - time for a 2nd opinion. TRUST YOUR GUT - I DID NOT FEEL RIGHT ABOUT HER. I got an appointment with Dr. E at the Alaska Center for Dermatology and he immediately recommended the Mohs Surgery for the removal of the skin cancer spot. I AM SO IRRITATED that this woman did not communicate to me all of my options. I felt like that was her obligation as my doctor, even if an option was a service her practice doesnt offer. The AK Center for Dermatology was 100x more professional, congenial, efficient, and comfortable. I never once had to second-guess the care I was getting from them. I got the spot removed with the Mohs Surgery today and couldnt be happier. Im just so glad I went to get a second opinion. Ive read other reviews on here alluding to similar situations about Dr. Millers bedside manner. She comes across as if shes better or smarter than you because shes a doctor and shes pretty. I dont play that game. Im a scientist too and she can talk to me like one. I dont appreciate doctors who place themselves above others. Let your work ethic and attitude speak for itself, just like hers did. Thats why Im now a patient somewhere else. You have been warned.
