Catholic Social Services does so much good in the Anchorage community. Did you know you can donate food, clothing, hygiene supplies and much more and it is donated directly to the needs of those in the community? Highly recommend donating to them!

Nota good organization. The Brother Francis Shelter is horribly run. They also fired me from my much needed job for a really stupid reason. I question their policies and management ability.

I was very grateful for the services they provide to families in need and will always be supportive of them in our community. I especially would like to thank the workers that consistently put themselves out there to offer help to those in need they are truly a blessing!!

Before the pandemic arrived in Alaska full force. The food Bank was a place to come to when you needed help. We have had to check dates on the food. Now since the pandemic, the lady at the door was asking my Mother if we had any income, and did we receive the PFD? We said yes. Now my Mom does not want to go there anymore. I had an interview with Catholic Social Services /BFS I knew something was up when it took them 3 weeks to tell me that they found someone else. I will not apply through them again.

These people helped me and my little family when it was needed most. Most caring ive seen when we were in our lowest. Bless this place if you can for surely it is put into action among those in need. Nothing will be wasted.

Dropped off some food donations and meet some friendly ladies

When my family came up to. ALASKA, we knew no one, had no jobs and 4 children. They helped us stay together and found a place to stay. Also brought food and clothes. Saint Anthony Church was also a God send. Bless them for helping us. We couldnt have made it without them!! 1980.

Very rude, and you dont receive the help you need and very ignorant staff. But I am grateful to figure things out on my own. Until we received services from Shiloh! I dont think I would return to the catholic social service, but I would definitely seek and receive help from Shiloh!

Catholic Social Services, is a gift from God! They are the heart and soul,by really helping those who have hit rock bottom! Helping those who is willing to do, whats need to be to get their lives, back on track! I am blessed in many ways and the difference in my life to be a better person,to become a law abiding citizen 😁

For the first time i went there I didnt expect to get that much food from this place, they are very helpful and friendly, and they also treat everyone equally and with respect, the customer service is incredible, and the whole staff are amazing people. Other than having to wait for about an hour this is a great place. They really help people out when they are down on luck and need help. I would recommend this place to anyone that needs help getting food, or other resources. The staff here are always really friendly and respectful

These are the Go To people if you need help with a wide variety of services. They also operate a food bank, and even have helped out several veterans I know with the security deposit on an apartment. They do a lot of good in the community.

Good food bank. Always very busy. They only help homeless people if they have a home, and prove their disability. They are very generous and helpful. They will pray for you.

Great place for food bank

Doing real work in the community & making a difference. I am just waiting for my turn for there helping me with my situation. Housing, Job training, transportation. And anything else that I am in need of too get my life on track.

I go here once a month for the food bank and the people are so friendly especially now that they have new supervisor. Its a shame that the Governor took the money away from them it is really really sad.

I received assistance that made all the difference for my family and I. However, Takitta, the worker that “counseled” my family was extremely snide, condescending and downright rude. There where several times where she straight lied to me and to my landlord. For instance when she failed to return phone calls she would put blame on me, when she failed to call and or contact outside resources after she told me should would. It was a terrible experience having no choice but to deal with her. I was and still am so very grateful for the assistance.

A good place to find out different thing to help out low income people and families

They have a great program, helping feed the community.

It is a food bank real nice place good food that you get there when youre down they will help you out

There are other programs at CSS other than the food pantry that all do great work - developmental disability services, homeless services for families and veterans, shelter services, pregnancy support/adoption, and refugee and immigration services!

It maybe a foodbank, but you really have to look at the expiration date... They have real old food, outdated expiration dates on most of the food...Gotta look good at the bread to, sometimes there is mold on the bread...
