Dans knowledge regarding Alaskan water, fish and flies is unmatched! He is a patient teacher and although fishing is about luck, you’re almost guaranteed to land some beautiful fish on a trip with him! I highly recommend booking a couple of days, you won’t regret it!

My family and I recently complete a trip to Alaska. Fishing was one of the items on our bucket list. We chose Mr Hardy based on the reviews and the fact that he was a one man fishing operation. Mr Hardy is very personable and detailed oriented. He made sure we had the correct gear, licenses, and equipment. He also helped us organize our trip to the area. He called me the day before to make sure we knew where to meet. Essentially he was more than a fishing guide and more like a close friend who lived in the area. He made sure we had a good time...and we did! My kids rated fishing with Mr Hardy higher in satisfaction than our white water rafting experience. Dan Hardy is an old-school Alaskan fishing guide with years of experience and a great personality to match! I would use Mr Hardy without reservation for any future fishing trip to Alaska.

We were lucky enough to hit a great sockeye run and Dan put us right on the fish! Not only did he find us a great spot, but his instruction on technique was extremely helpful. He gave each one of us individual attention to make sure we were as successful as possible. We had an absolute blast and learned so much! I have had the opportunity to fish with many guides and they can all put you on fish. What makes for a great day of fishing is the entire experience you have with the guide. My wife and I are long time Alaskans. We do have a drift boat but fish a different part of the Kenai than where D Ray usually roams. Back in the spring of 2015, after many many hours of talking with Dan in Mossys fly shop, I asked him if he would be willing to fish my wife and I on the mid river. Dan agreed.I cannot say enough about the quality of a day of fishing with and just being with Dan Dans knowledge of the river and the fish are 2nd to none. The fishing style is a bit different on the Middle Kenai that what my wife and I are used to on the Upper Kenai. Also my wife is handicapped. Dans patience with us cannot be touted enough. We listened. Learned. Caught fish. Lost fish. But the best part. Just the conversation with someone who is so passionate about the river. The land. Fish conservation. June and I still talk about that September day on 2015. Sometimes even when we are in our boat on the upper. If you dont give Dan a chance to fish you, You are making a mistake.
