The staff are what makes Sylvan Learning a great place for a kid to succeed. They are passionate and seem to have a knack for finding what works for the kids to succeed. Sylvan has a good model and structure and it definitely works.

My son is enjoying math and learning! Even through Zoom from a distance he is engaged!

It just works.a little pricey, but definitely worth every penny. your child is worth it!

The new found confidence and independence with schoolwork is amazing! This Sylvan location has made it very easy for us to travel into town every other weekend for tutoring. The results achieved by our son in the last 6 months well exceed the expectations for what I thought we could accomplish when we joined the program.

Sylvan has really helped my daughter with Algebra II and Chemistry. The learning center was just what my daughter needed to bump her grades up to the next grade level. The staff is very professional and approachable to me an my daughter. Additionally, the staff has been helpful in bringing seminars and workshop to my attention that I had initially considered but have been very helpful.

Even for students who are leaps and bounds ahead academically Sylvan is a great place! Sylvan will provide your child an opportunity to challenge themselves and excel in an environment that is nurturing and supportive. Sylvan tailors their curriculum to your childs needs enhancing their learning experience!

Sylvan Learning in Anchorage has been such a wonderful experience for my son and our family. At the end of Kindergarten, he told me, I cant read, Mommy. We worked tirelessly at home but his progress was still not ideal. That is when I made an appointment to get an assessment with Sylvan. We signed up for Sat morning sessions and within months we along with his 1st grade teacher saw tremendous progress. He is now in 2nd grade and he is reading on par with the rest of his peers and feels very confident in the classroom. I couldnt ask for a better group of experienced Sylvan teachers and staff to help my son. This has made homework and school experience so much better! Thank you Sylvan!!

Our first-grader really enjoys learning at Sylvan. He has attended several summer STEM camps in addition to Sylvans reading program. He has been engaged in learning and making forward progress rather than experiencing summer brain drain!

My child has struggled with reading. Sylvan has helped in forming a learning plan specifically tailored for my child which has resulted in a gain of confidence and finally being on target with his grade level. They were also able to provide tools that we could use at home.

Firstly, my initial contact (which is the most important), was so pleasant. I spoke with Jennifer, she was very informative and answered all of my questions and concerns, so I scheduled the assessment for my daughter. Secondly, get used to it because everyone at this center is super friendly- just to name a few, Daneka, Maegan, and Pauline are so willing to help in every aspect of developing a learning plan that will allow your child to become comfortable in building the confidence needed for succeeding in school. My daughter struggled terribly in math to the point of tears for most of her 4th grade year. She absolutely loves her instructors, and the incentives Sylvan offers are fun. She is advancing and is on mark with her weekly achievements. The office staff/instructors will exceed your expectations. Thanks to all!

I am a college student at UAA pursuing a degree in Nursing. Part of the nursing program admission is to take an entrance exam which consists of English, Reading, Math, and Science. I struggle with reading comprehension and grammar, so Sylvan has helped me not only improve my reading comprehension, but also taught me how to speed read which was perfect for a timed test. Daneka has suggested bringing in additional workbooks for the grammar section to work on with the tutors.I was taking Chemistry and Human Anatomy over the summer and Daneka allowed me to bring in my homework for additional help and prepare for my tests. Daneka is very nice and all she wants is to help and see students succeed. I thought Sylvan was only for elementary or high school students; however, the tutors will work with anyone whether that person is a college student or an older person. I have to mention; it was pretty funny to see myself surrounded by younger students who were in elementary or in preschool.

My daughter is in advanced classes and has been since 2nd grade. Sylvan has helped us stay on track for her future goals. By her own wishes she has made a goal to begin 7th grade math in Algebra. She wants to skip Pre Algebra as she is in fear of being bored and wants to excel with the comfort of not being lost or having to much on her plate to continue her excellent grades. Sylvan has been working with her and guiding her with her math since 4th grade. She is in 6th grade now and works at an 8th grade math level as well will be able to enter 7th grade at her goal of Algebra. I would like to commend and give Thanks to ALL the staff at Sylvan. It just would not have been possible without them.
