Renting from 4x4 was the start of my best vacation ever. I was intimidated to drive a big car and they made sure to put me in a car I was comfortable to drive. They picked me up from the airport and picked my car up from my hotel. I actually text them when my boyfriend had a tooth infection and I wasnt sure where to take him because we were 3700 miles away from home. They took care of us like we were family and I will rent from them every time we go back!

I had a fantastic experience renting from them. Picked up after hours, dropped off after hours. The Jeep worked great, the staff was fantastic to work with. Thanks Alaska 4x4 for making my trip to Alaska awesome!

Victor and his company was awesome to work with. As a mom/teacher traveling with my two children, he made the experience easy and affordable. Definitely recommend!!!

This company is a TOTAL SCAM!!! If you think you are booking with Alaska 4x4 Rentals, this is not them. They have made their name similar to the actual alaska 4x4 rental company. So if you think this is them, it is not. Victor is the biggest liar. He left me and my family stranded at the airport upon arrival in the middle of the night with my children and my 80 year old mother. The only way I finally got a hold of him was by using another phone so he did not recognize my number. When I finally got a hold of him at 1 am, he told me the car I rented had been in an accident, and he didn’t have one available for me at that time. He then put his other partner on the phone who had the nerve to ask me if I had called any other rental places during the hour and a half I was trying to get a hold of them. The next morning my husband called other companies to rent from while I again tried to get a hold of this company. My husband booked from the actual 4x4 company. When Victor found out we booked somewhere else he actually began to yell at me and couldn’t even confirm he had a vehicle for us.

Wish I could rate them 0 stars. We booked a minivan in Anchorage for summer 2021 several months in advance. They assured us morning of that it would be waiting for us at the airport at noon when we landed. We landed, and they answered my call one time saying they would be there in 30 minutes. Never answered again. Various family members harassed them to which they gave excuse after excuse. I believe they told us 8-10 times they would be there within 30 minutes- 2 hours. Never rent from this company. Sorry clowns dont even care, and just have one excuse after another.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! Alaska 4x4 Car Rental is not Alaska 4x4 Rental. What a horrible experience with Alaska 4x4 Car Rental!!!!! Our friends rental car is more than 9 or 10yrs old, multiple physical damages on the outside, inside is SOOOO dirty(car seats have stitches too)!!!! Speaking of the driving experience, you cannot have a conversation in the car when car is in motion. In addition, once the car is going above 50MPH, you can feel the entire car is shaking!!! The company is using delay tactics to sweet talk to their customers. We will get back to you in 30 minutes can result in no call back at all or no answer when you try to call them again. In addition, no pickup and drop off locations(even the company has provided), it always ended it up with I will drop off the vehicle or I will meet you somewhere. Alaska consumer protection or BBB really needs to look into this company. Michael Green is the person we have been in contact with. Ive seen other Point of Contact (POC) from the review...not sure if those are real names. Totally avoid this company if you are on vacation to Alaska.

To respond to the owners comment: I did my dual diligence to verify the info before I wrote this review. I called the number listed on google and it got transferred to Michael Green, the person Ive dealt with from day one. I also saw his 5 star reviews here. I dont normally write reviews unless its extremely good or extremely bad. I believe in honesty and integrity. I will do my part to go extra miles if needed to prevent people became the next victim. BTW, I have the receipt, credit card statement and other documents to back me up. I suspect theres potential tax fraud by charging my credit card for this transaction under Payless electronic business account. All 1 star reviews share similar stories. Those are REAL reviews.DO NOT RENT FROM THEM! SCAM!!! If I could give them negative star, I would. Beware of the 5 star ratings. I saw one of the owners review here. Go figure how many of these 5 star reviews are real. Dont mix them up with Alaska 4x4 Rental. This Alaska 4x4 Car Rental is NOT the same company. Theyre dishonest people!We booked mid-size SUV from them, but we got a 2011 Honda Element (I searched on line by the VIN #, this car was bought at $400 at auction on 12/23/20 with 186745 miles on it). The interior was extremely filthy and the passenger seat was stitched up. The hood had a hole on it and was covered by duck tape. The whole car was loud and shaking if you go over 45 miles/hour. It was so loud that you could hardly hear each other when you talk. It has transmission problem. When called them back for exchange of another car, they promised to call us back to exchange for a newer car the following day, but they never called back. When we follow up with them, they dont pick up or return calls. They wont even provide an address for us to drop off the car after 3 attempts to obtain the address. We ended up rented another car from Dollar Car Rental and left the broken old car there for them to pickup.Read all the 1 star reviews, I had the same experience. Wish I had read these reviews before the trip. I mistakenly thought the Alaska 4x4 Rental was the same as this one because of the name. This Alaska 4x4 Car Rental is a fraud! I will also file a complain against them to Alaska Consumer Protection to prevent others fall into their scam again. AVOID THIS COMPANY!!!

Great rental company in alaska. A bit of a walk from the domestic terminal.The rep who helped us was super friendly and really eager to please us. The Vehicle was a new Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk which was nice, clean, and very comfortable. Pickup and return was very quick and easy.Aside from the short walk from the terminal its a great rental option the service was great and very customer friendly. They where also the only company that had a car available for me at a normall price this past summer when every other company is having shortages allowing people to make reservations for card they dont have.Would recommend to others for the service

It’s not worth to rent a problematic car and risk your family stuck on the side of the Alaska high way! They don’t have new car for you, not even the same model car they told you on phone!

They are the worst people to rent from i have ever incountered! DO NOT RENT FROM THEM!!!!. The first car they tryed to rent to us the transmission was shifting very hard. Then they tryed to get is in a vehicle that had the hood ducktaped shut. We didnt learn so the third vehicle they gave us looked alright. Old beaten up but it ran... we thought. Well a day into driving it stopped being able to drive over 40 mph. Then we tried to get in contact with them they gave us the run around for 4 hours! And then! They stopped responding to us! THEY ARE A SCAM !!! NEVER RENT FROM THEM!!!!

My wife and I had a last minute trip to Anchorage with our two school kids. If I had known about Ak 4x4 sooner we could have rent from day one. Thank you Victor for delivery and return.

DO NOT RENT A FROM THEM!!!! SCAM!!! We booked a 4x4 Chevy traverse from them which they said they had many! I called them the day before to confirm my reservation and they said we were all good but they asked if we could pick up the car the evening we got to anchorage because the mornings were so busy got them. I agreed even though now I was going to have to pay for the car to be parked at my hotel. They said they would pick us up in our vehicle so I called them and they came an hour late and in a fwd Kia Sorento which was tiny and not safe for a 2 hour snowy drive to the glacier tour we had paid and booked for in the morning!!! They said they would come back with the vehicle we had booked. Needless to say we never heard from them again! we called and txted them numerous times and they would not answer. Read the reviews they are thieves!

I rented a soul for 3 days. Car ran great. They even picked me up and dropped me off when I was done. Great service and very reasonable rates. He also recommended a few sights to check out, and I did. They were great places to see, glad he told me about them.

I m reconsidering the rating after I received a call from the owner attempting to address the issue and receive the broken car. previous review comment was: DON’T RENT. Be careful, this company rented me a broken car and never pick up the phone calls at all to receive the car back. They will put 1200 L st address on their paper which is hotel address. I went to hotel apparently multiple customer went there to drop off car and found out that its a hotel address not the rental company address the rental agreement paper has different numbers on and no one answer any calls after I informed them that the car is broken and I need to drop it back. Don’t rent because you will be stuck with the car and they will keep forwarding your phone calls and never pick up. They will never ask you to come to the office they will always offer to drop the car at your address or ask you where you would like to be picked at.

This car rental is very village friendly with a wonderful pleasant Alaskan small business approach to great customer service highly recommend them. They always go out of there way to accommodate me with a great selection of cars. I love there new location on the shores of lake hood huge parking lot close fast service very hassle free and user friendly. Car ran good and was very clean I like the packing materials and extra tape in the left behinds area to pack all my stuff and ship it home what will they think of next lol

Strongly Recommend!I arrived late one night from Minneapolis and had a bad experience at a rental counter at theAirport. They demanded a lot of things that werent listed on my reservation that I had made back home. I called 4x4 and my life got good again. Polite, efficient, honest.I would recommend them to anyone!! The worst car rental place Ive ever had.The vehicle was a lemon! It smelled horribly like smoke and over 45mph the car shook horribly.The keys to the rental were stolen when I was robbed at gunpoint a hour after receive g the rental.Any other rental company without a doubt has extra set of keys but this one did not.Your employee Victor said he was too drunk to drive when I called to tell him the key was stolen from me so the employee has a drinking problem.going on 5 days and Im yet to receive any call from management or a refund or vehicle.Feeling like the employee stole $450.00 from me and has not answered since.Also no calls from owner or management.After I was told $450.00 included insurance but I guess thats not the case.So extremely unreliable, disrespectful,and poor unreasonable customer service!

Would just like to let everyone know that these people probably have my camera and wont let me talk to a manager about it ( I was told the manager TJWould return my message in about 30 minutes, yeah never heard from the guy)...so anyway, I realize that the car rental contract states the company is not responsible for items left in the car after returning it, yes, I see it right there in black & white. Now, having said that, it doesnt mean that when someone is blatantly lying to you its ok, because you entered into a contract.When I returned the car I was in a hurry and didnt look through it as well as I should have, boy this is a hard lesson learned...when I got home I was looking for my camera and remembered I had put it on the floor in the back behind the passenger seat & so I called them and the only man I have had contact with at the company told me he personal cleaned the car out himself and didnt see anything. Ummm, your lying. See its slimy opportunist like this that you have to be on the look out for. I dont even want the camera back, it has an SD card in it that has pictures of my family!! So now Ive been trying to get in touch with a manager or owner to give them feedback about my experience & this man has been blocking me. He wont answer, blocks the calls etc...so I have been reduced to posting this review.Well if you do decide to go with this hack job company just remember they are dishonest, bad customer service & will take your stuff. So go through the car with a fine tooth comb, honest people DO NOT exists anymore..

Dont ever rent from them. They rented me an unsafe vehicle. The tail light is falling out. It pulls to right and only got worse. So I stopped driving it all together. It makes a sharp grab to the left when I take my foot off the accelerator. And to top it off, the dash lights died on me IN THE DARK. I have been trying to call for 4 days, including today, and have not received an answer or a call back from my voicemails! I have called every number listed for them to no avail! Finally got a hold of a guy named richard on Friday evening. He was supposed to meet me in eureka with another rental (since I am out past glennallen) to swap them out on saturday. It is now sunday. He never called or showed up. I AGAIN hadve been calling every number I could find for them. Still nothing!

I was at the airport my enterprise rental got canceled because of absurd credit card mandatory requirements so I found a fellow with a Alaska 4 x 4 Rental T-shirt and they gave me a free courteous shuttle to their office where I got a great deal on a rental car in Anchorage Alaska No credit card requirements at all
