My company uses Otis for our hotel elevators. Unfortunately their equipment is proprietary, so it is difficult to find a competitor who will do a better job. As a result, they have very little motivation to deliver good service. My professional experience has been that our company is locked into an overpriced contract; the service technicians are routinely rude; their actual servicing falls short of state guidelines, causing us to have an annual battle with the State Inspector on deficiencies that should have been caught during their routine monthly visits: repair cost is exorbitant; regional leadership is non responsive, even when we ask for quotes on additional repairs. The list could go on, but in essence, if I had an option to select a different vendor who would be more customer service oriented and actually maintains my elevators better, I would in a heartbeat.
