If you have bats, call Mike. Period. I was CERTAIN there was a raccoon or other 4-legged critter in our attic. The scurrying was so loud our cat would stand in our bedroom staring at the ceiling. We heard the noise consistently a month or two, then decided we needed to handle it. We were recommended to Iowa Wildlife Control, not having any idea where to begin with a problem we didn’t know how to describe. Mike stopped over for the inspection and immediately knew it was bats. Honestly, I was still skeptical because they were so loud! We scheduled the official removal, which took less than 3 hours (of which we were out shopping for most of it! It was casual and super easy. He let us know he’d be back to remove the tube and said to let him know if we heard anything else. It WAS bats and they safely (which was important to us) exited the attic and haven’t come back! We haven’t heard a thing. Mike came back to remove the tubing, sealed everything up and that it! Highly recommended!

I had to use their services at both the business where I work and my home. He did great job and guarantees his work. After doing such a great job at the business used them for the bats at my own home. Got rid of them and returned when I needed him to. Very much recommend!

Review of Mike DiSalvo of Iowa Wildlife Control.- Not Recommended - (No Stars if possible)We had a family of raccoons living under our sunroom, so we called Mike and he came right out and said he would get rid of them for $200. He had to be paid up front. The total came to $263.65 because he added on a trip charge and tax. We paid him and he sprayed male raccoon urine around the entrance that they were getting in, and left. After a few days, it was apparent that they were still there so, I tried for several days to contact him to do something, he finally came back 3 weeks later. He arrived late in the evening with a Karaoke machine that blasted a recording of raccoons fighting! Very loud! Neighbors were wondering what the hell… all the dogs in the neighborhood were barking. It was ridiculous. He said give it a few days and then block the hole. After a few days, it appeared to have worked, so I plugged the hole. Then the next day we could still hear at least one still under the room. So, I didn’t want it to die under there, so I opened the hole back up so it could also get out. After several tries to call Mike, I finally got him several days later. He said he’d come out with some traps. 2 more weeks go by and he hasn’t shown. I was tired of screwing around, after several more tries, got ahold of him and told him to just give my money back and I would find someone who could actually get the job done. He said he had been real busy and would return my money and then hung up on me. He has never returned our payment. He couldn’t do the job after nearly two months. Save yourself some time and money and go elsewhere.

I called about an Opossum that was hiding in the garage and wouldn’t scare away. He came within an hour and picked her up and put her in a cage to transport her to a safe location. She had babies in her pouch. He let my son see her with a quick educational story.

I also would give 0 stars if I could. This June we had a raccoon removal in Ames. Mike presented this removal as a 3, or more, step process (male raccoon urine, then 2 days later cover the hole with tape, then the next day cover the hole in our dormer with plywood) at a cost of $200, which he insisted be paid up front.More than a week later, only the first step had been done. We didnt know if the raccoon was still in there (or if anything else had moved in) not to mention that we still had a hole in the siding and outside wall of our dormer, after having paid in full for the entire job.We tried contacting Mike; an email and several texts went unanswered. My husband was eventually able to speak to him on the phone about completing the job or refunding our payment, but Mike yelled at him and then hung up on him.I would highly recommend that you find someone else in Story County to take care of any wildlife pest needs!

We had bats in our attic and we called multiple different pest control type places and most either didnt call back or didnt handle bats. Iowa Wildlife Control responded to our call and came out to inspect the situation. They were very informative throughout the process and we scheduled them to come back to seal the house and fix the areas the bats were getting in. They were pleasant to work with and did the job fast. So far we havent heard any signs of bats in the attic.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. Mike never came to finish the job and never followed up after we paid him in full. Now we have to finish it ourselves when we already paid someone to do the work. Very disappointing. Scheduled twice for him to come back and finish the work and both times he never showed and did not follow up to let us know he could not make it. Now we can’t even get ahold of him. He has not returned our calls or text messages. If you are looking to hire someone for pest control, save your money and the headache and look somewhere else.

I had a dead deer in my woodland yard in the Des Moines area. They answered my phone message promptly, and arrived when they said they would, even though they had driven a few hundred miles that day. They examined the animal, and determined that it was too old to dispose of, and charged me nothing for the call. Very nice, very professional. I would recommend to anyone in the Des Moines area!
