I love coming to find a new treasure. It seems that prices have gone up here in the past few years. More shirts seem to be in the $5 range (when they should still be $3). But usually it is still a good deal. I am so happy that patrons are able to try clothes on again before purchasing. I really have saved a lot of money by getting quite a bit of clothes here! So thanks DI!

You can get low cost used clothes, shoes, bedding, books and other household ideas. Fun to just take your time and look around to find treasures. Great place to get clothes for fast growing kids and babys. Very clean and set up so you can shop in different areas for what you want or need. Things change almost daily. Friendly workers. During holidays there are many things to use in your home at a low cost. Check it out and take your time.

It is so inconvenient to have to make an appointment to be able to drop off donations. Do you want our stuff or not? I have heard many friends say.... and watched several people leave the store and take their stuff to Savers or Good Will because they have been turned away, and because they can drive up and drop it off when it is convenient for them. I want to support the D I, but youre making it awfully hard!!! Hopefully you return to the old way of collecting our donations.

Family and I come here when we are looking for specific items such as boys jeans, shorts, and boys collared shirts and pants for church. I love that this location is about a 5 minute drive from home. It’s a pretty big location! The clothing racks are pretty well organized according to color. We have also found some good footed pajamas for girls. For the kitchen, I feel you do have to come at the right time of the week to find treasures! I found glass mixing bowls and even a huge deep baking pan for the oven, hardly used! I also found a decent Dutch oven here that I gifted to a dear friend as I knew she never had one but wanted one. Also found some organizing bins of various sizes and also a pair of jean shorts for myself. Oh and also discovered a great well known brand back pack for girls so that was indeed a treasured find. We also donate most of our household items and clothing to this location as they have a drive thru drop off station. The employees are friendly too.

It is your run-of-the mill thrift store. Prices are a little high. No sales tax, since it is owned by the Mormon church...

Wonderful place to get something when you need it on a dime- costume materials, shoes for the kids- we recently had one kid bend her rim on her bike. That’s pricey to fix or replace! We got a whole new bike just the right size for $10 there and just borrowed the rim :) they still only take donations by appointment, though I have no idea why- I wish they’d drop that at this point.

Great DI, always lots of stuff and the prices are pretty good.

I love to shop here for my own clothes and shoes. It is such a smart way to get more for your dollar. I dont think Ive ever come without getting something I was really pleased with. (Often more than one thing) Take time to look well and come often. I have gotten some nice jeans and denim shirts, slacks and beautiful sweaters for work, athletic shoes, some great boots, etc. etc. I have also gotten really nice belts, and swim wear. I shop for a little granddaughter here for clothes and some toys for Christmas too. Even though you cant try clothing on in the store because of COVID-19, they do give you a week to return clothing and shoes with tags on and receipt for an exchange of other clothing and shoes. I also like to donate my gently used items of all kinds here.

This place has great stuff and really cheap. Today while I was there I only had two dollars and I needed to buy my daughter a new outfit and a toy. After about 15 min I found both for a total of $1.75. I would highly recommend this place.

A great place to find that second-hand item: Furniture, Electronics, (they have a testing station to make sure it works), Kitchen items, Clothing, Books, Games, Toys, Tools, Yard Equipment, Pictures, Exercise Equipment, Luggage, and More. Donations. Businesses often donate brand new items (for tax write-offs). D.I. employees people who are trying to improve their lives and economic situation. Shopping here helps them get a good start. If you find what you are looking for, you will have a Winner (especially in price). Recently I bought a very fine piece of Samsonite luggage (has 3 mesh pockets and a water-proof pouch inside) and two large external pockets—for $15. (I saved hundreds of dollars buying used, rather than new.) Fun place to search and find those Treasures.

I usually walk out of here with something. Usually not what I went in there for. It is a hit or miss situation with the DI, you can find some great stuff every once in a while. Unfortunately I have a hard time finding clothing that fits me. Some times they have something good, though, and sometimes much cheaper than the retail stores.Another thing about the Deseret Industries is they help train people for employment in the real world sectors. The other is they help people across the world from the donations they take in. So if youre looking to get rid of your still in good shape items, dont throw them away, donate them for a good cause and help others in need.

This facility is as corrupt as it gets. They destroy so much furniture every month but they could be giving away to the poor. Also that people still have to come in and pay for what was freely given to them, despite their corporate overlords sitting on a dragons horde of hundreds of billions of dollars, they could fund all the DI in perpetuity just with the interest.

Theyve increased theyre prices way more than they need to and they dont treat their employees well

Its thrift store. Some things are reasonably priced somethings are over priced. I can usually always find a something though, which is great as I like to alter clothes to make something new and can find some nice gems of furniture as well. Go back often if not daily as the stock is always changing. And goes super fast. So always grab something as soon as you see if because it won’t last long.

I miss finding treasures at the DI!! Also we need summer clothes so let’s hurry up and get this open! I love this store on so many levels. It’s such a great place to recycle all the stuff in my house that I don’t use or need anymore and it’s fun to get new stuff that I don’t have a huge amount of money invested in so if I don’t like it I can pass it on. I love it that they support people in teaching skills and helping them find employment. Such a great division of the LDS church!!!!

I live very far away. went shopping here and had 100+ in christmas gifts. they were only takeing cash? understandable in any other time but nobody has taken cash since the pandemic started when i returned to fet my items with cash the gurl told me thwy dont hold items? seriously?? VERY UPSET!! my child has a medical condition that has left us homebound for months! finally got out and am now devistated!!

You can find interesting things here. My son got a tux suit coat here for his wedding. It just needed a little ironing.

This place is severally picked over with little to no finds on most items. This store does seem to have a decent selection of bikes which is nice. Way overcrowded with long lines in waiting to buy anything. I rarely shop here due to the above reasons.

Ive made so many good finds at this place! Recently got the cutest lamp and a brand new throw pillow for my bedroom.

I work at the American Fork store, and absolutely love my job and the people I work with. I couldnt ask for a better work environment and the opportunity to help others. The Deseret Industries program is a great way to get help with schooling and many other future job assistance. They are always hiring talk to a bishop and come in. Always in need of another set of hands.

Appointments are three weeks out to drop off.

The set up is nice and it’s usually pretty organized here, but they really need to lower their prices. Many of the items I can get brand new for the same price. Other DI’s I have been too are much cheaper than this one.

I love to come and find crazy bargains and unique items. This DI has a better selection than either the Provo or south Salt Lake valley stores. I can forgive the inconsistent pricing because its a thrift store. I realize that some customers find the employees to be quirky and not always helpful, but this is a training facility for a variety of individuals who are learning job skills and I dont mind cutting them some slack. I appreciate seeing former employees working at other businesses after they leave the American Fork DI. If you go when they first open or on a Saturday afternoon, be prepared to have difficulty navigating around other customers (who try to grab items from your cart) and their children who leave toys all over the floor.

Even when they are busy I’ve never had to wait long to drop off a donation. The workers are well trained and very friendly.

Would recommend! A lot of good choices and theyve stepped up their organization by quite a bit. If you need household things or clothes then try here first.

Love the friendly faces that greet and help you. The place is always so clean. Love how organized it is. I have found many treasures here, and plan to do more searching in the future.

You can get some amazing deals here. Ive found so many great clothes for my kids and myself. Sometimes you have to dig a bit, but if you come with a little bit of time, you can get a lot of stuff for a small price.

My husband and I live in Provo and go in there to look around a lot, but when we need furniture, we always find what were looking for here! We got a couch, kitchen table, and a coffee table and two end tables for our apartment here! We need a new kitchen table, and this is definitely the first place well be looking!

If you have things lying around the house to get rid of, take them here. The DI does so much for those that need on the job training, and they use what you donate to do so. I drop by here on occasion to see if there are any hidden gems as well. The inside is clean and organized, so its easy to find what youre looking for.

Occasionally overpriced (looking at you, furniture department) but still a fun place to shop and look around. You can always find a treasure! I bought a pool float for my baby for $1, and it was in near perfect condition.It should also be noted that Deseret Industries works closely with Catholic Community services and provides many, many goods for FREE to the homeless, poor, and even refugee families. After an easy interview process, people can receive a voucher for their local DI for a certain amount, and can go shop for the things they need - clothing, bedding, furniture, housewares.Naturally, they cant give everything away for free. They have overhead, utility bills, and provide job training and a pay check to a wide spectrum of people. Most people are like me, not destitute, but happy to find a bargain, and happy to pay a low price for the things that make our lives easier.

I had previously posted a negative review about this location after a misunderstanding that had taken place there. Once I spoke with the manager Nephi Carter, he took care of our concerns and even reached out to follow up with us while a family member of his was in the hospital. He was a great listener and was very professional with the way he handled our concerns. I’ve changed my mind about this company and Carter has done a great job winning our business back.

Pretty organized considering its a donation facility. I found just the right things for my kids Halloween costumes! And less than what I would have paid for 1 at Wal-Mart!

The crappiest place I have ever had to deal with I asked to speak with a manager an apparently they all go to lunch at the same time an there are no bosses there for a whole hour... this is the worst service I have ever had with any company an I work retail...

Customer service was pretty good, selection of clothes and miscellaneous items was alright. Didn’t find any furniture that was very appealing, but did find some nice clothes at a decent price.

I find it interesting that our charitable donations that we give to the poor for free are made into priced items to buy. If the Mormon church really wanted to help the poor, the items that were given freely would then be given freely to the poor.

I was there and asked the price of a childrens toy vaccuum. The manager in the motorized chair was very ignorant to me. I asked her to go down a dollar in case it didnt work and she got even more ignorant. Desert Industries is supposed to be there to help those of us who cant afford to shop elsewhere, like myself. We already feel bad enough. I cried when I left. I can also tell you just as I thought, it doesnt work. I will never shop there again. That woman is not cut out to work in customer service. I have never felt so talked down to and degraded in my life. I really hope you guys do something about this and dont just disregard me as a nobody the way she did.

When explaining a problem I had to the cashier Hanna and her manager they were extremely rude and didn’t want to give me a receipt for my purchase and when I asked for a bag she threw it at me, I don’t know if this is how the church and their employees operate or if it was just her but to treat people like this is horrible.
