We are truly thankful for Art and the mechanics who worked on our Suburban. We were traveling through Amarillo, heading for New Mexico when our transmission went out. Hugh Inconvenience! We were pulling a Pop Up Camper and had 6 people in the truck. We called one mechanic and they said they were 3 weeks out for any assistance. We then called Scotties Transmission. Art was able to immediately take the truck for a test drive and diagnose the problem. They were able to rebuild the whole transmission and add upgraded parts in less than 2 days for us! We honestly thought our trip was over when we heard the transmission went out. We were blown away with how quick they fixed the issue. Art was very professional and very helpful. We were able to get back on the road just after 2 days of the truck being in the shop. We drove the truck to New Mexico and Colorado! We put some serious miles on the transmission especially in Colorado. No issues at all! Scotties Transmission saved our vacation! Thank you so much!

My transmission went out on Thursday afternoon before a holiday weekend. I called a different shop and was told they could look at it but it would be 3 weeks before they could get to it. Another shop didnt even answer their phone. I called Scotties and spoke with Art. He was very nice and helpful from the start. I asked how soon they could get to it because we were going out of town soon and we have a large family that only fits in my suburban. He said they could get it done. He kept me informed on their progress the entire time through text and photos, so I knew exactly what was going on. He knew I was in a time crunch and his guys buckled down to get it finished 2 days earlier than they planned!! I am impressed. He was honest, knowledgeable, and professional throughout the entire process. Couldnt have asked for a better experience!

Extremely slow. It has been a month and they could not fix my transmission. They keep putting me off. First i was told that it would take 7-10 days. It has been A MONTH and they still have my car. They dont update you regularly and when you call them, they always tell we are working on it. If you need your car urgently, never go there. It is the slowest service ive ever seen.

We definitely had an emergency! They really stepped up to the plate and help my son. He is in the army and on leave when his transmission went out. The got it fix so he could get back to base! Was told by another mechanic that I needed to have my transmission replaced so I took it to Scotty’s and talked to Art. After taking a look at it, Art told me that it actually didn’t need to be replaced and only had to replace a couple of bearings. All in all Art saved me over $1000 by being honest with me and showing the integrity of Scotty’s transmission, I would HIGHLY recommend this place!

It took em 5 weeks to fix my transmission

Art from Scottie’s Transmission saw us on an emergency stop while we were hauling horses cross country and our transmission was over heating. We were told by another shop that we needed a $1500+ repair but thankfully they didn’t have the part so we moved on to Scottie’s who immediately ordered the part to arrive the next day. They squeezed us in to their very busy schedule to get us safely back on the road with our horses. Art quickly diagnosed our issue to be a very simple issue/fix of $37. They had our best interest in mind for sure! Wonder shop and would recommend to anyone!

I started out at Rileys auto store to have my transmission checked the light was on. And it scared me. They did a computer check and gave me the results and told me to take it to Scottys transmission to investigate what the issue was. When I got to Scottys I was greeted at the door and asked how I could be helped I told him that I went to Rileys and they gave me this print out of the computer results of why my transmission light was on. They told me to have a seat that they would take my car drive it and see if they can find out what is going on. They also ran a computer check. To my surprise it was only a faulty light sensor so they reset it. And they didnt charge me for anything I was so relieved. Back on the road again no lights on my dashboard. I will definitely be going back if I have to have any work done or computer checked. Easy to find parking available, handicap parking Im not sure I dont remember but its easy to get inside. Art was very professional and honest he said he would have the work done in a day and it was. When I took to get checked he checked and even put oil the day I took for an estimate he was right on the problem with my vehicle.

Called to ask if I could get my transmission looked at. Art asked me how many miles I had on it and told me I may still have a powertrain warranty left and to call a dealer before going to him. Turns out I did have a warranty left and without talking to Art I could have been out a lot of money. Really appreciate his honesty!

If you want to get charged for something you dont get, this is the place for you. If you have a diesel truck and need transmission work, do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. Scottie (the owner) will stand up front with you and talk your ear off and make you feel comfortable, but as soon as your vehicle is apart all he sees is dollar signs.

Absolutely the most trusted auto mechanic we have ever had! I took a car in that we had let sit in the garage for a couple of years because we were saving up to do repairs before moving out of state. Art suggested what he thought it might need, but nothing more. I ended up having him do more than what he suggested. Then, to top it off, I took my SUV in just to see if it was all ok for us to take on the road to move. Again, Art said that he couldnt find anything that he felt we needed unless we just really wanted to do a tune up, which he figured was something we could wait on. Then, I tried to pay him for looking at the SUV and he wouldnt take a dime! Amazing honesty. Any other mechanic would have found something to charge me for. These guys are Christian based and very professional. I just wish we had known about them sooner!

I have been taking all three of my vehicles to Scotties Transmission for the last 5 years because of the great customer services and moreover because of the great craftsmanship which they have shown me over these years. When your vehicles is repaired at Scotties you can be sure that you will get a good quality repair as well as good quality service. What really gives me confidence in this shop is the level of expertise of the mechanics. When they have finished troubleshooting your vehicle they explain in detail the issues the cehicle is having and they are honest about repairs which they come across. If they believe its an emergency repair which should not be delayed they will tell you and if its something that can wait they will tell you so. I appreciate honesty always and you can expect honesty here.

Outstanding service transmission repair to my Dodge minivan.On Sunday, our family was traveling from Dumas to Amarillo, as we were entering, the minivan lost speed and wouldn’t change gears or go faster than 20 mph. We decided to drive it to Scottie’s Transmission, because we have used Scottie’s twice before and felt confident to leave it there. We parked it and left the keys in the mail/drop box with a note. The next morning I called Art and explained what happened to the van and he said he would take a look at it. By 1:30 p.m., he called back and said it was a speed sensor and it was ready for pickup. Wow that was timely! My son, Everson, is in a wheelchair and we depend on our van to transport him. Thank you Art for your kindness and generousity! We recommend Scottie’s to anyone who needs transmission repair work. The mechanics are the best in Amarillo!

They lied to my husband and myself about how much it was going to cost and how long it was going to take, yelled at us, called us liars, and refused to work with us after they went up $1000 on price with no warning. I work at a job where i interact with many different people daily and have had 4-5 different people say theyve had the same experience with Scotties. I guess we are all just lying for the fun of it.

The gentleman that helped me, Art Perez, was very competent and professional. He quickly found my problem, explained what had happened, and fixed it in no time at all AND he didnt charge me a penny! They charged me $1000 more than the original agreed on price, took 3 weeks to do what they said would take 3-4 days, and when I let them know this was unacceptable I was yelled at, called a liar by the owner himself, and was never given any real explanation or apology for any of these things. Ive heard many others say they have had the same type experience with them or they know someone that has. Avoid these lying crooks.
