Great gentle, did a quick review, he couldnt help me, but was honest and very helpful. Great local shop.
Robert is a really great guy. I was driving through town common called ahead to OReilly because my front brake pads although they were only a few months old were worn out and I was metal-to-metal. I asked the clerk at OReilly if you knew somebody local and he referred me to Robert. Robert immediately made room for me to pull my camper in, and did a phenomenal job in a very short amount of time, during what should have been his lunch time to get me back on the road. While I was there, I asked the typical questions about Roberts skill sets, as I have project vehicles, and he does engine rebuilds transmission rebuilds, and showed me some of his ongoing work that was in progress in the shop. I was impressed, and I will definitely put him on my visit list next time I go through Amarillo.
I brought my car in to Roberts Garage to have the transmission looked at. A friend referred me to Roberts since it was near my home off Grand and would be convenient. Robert advised a filter change and said that would solve the problem. I got the filter change and went home. Once I got into my garage and stepped out of the car, there was transmission fluid leaking all over the place. I immediately called to let them know, and they were very rude and said sorry, cant help you I then had to have my car towed to another repair shop. The shop there told me that whoever had serviced my car at Roberts Garage had not tightened anything down, and now I need a whole new transmission. I am a single working parent, and I was left with a $3500 bill to repair my car after the incompetence at Roberts Garage. I would advise anyone with a car issue to stay as far away as possible from Roberts Garage. I should have known better, the shop is very junky and in disarray. They obviously take no pride in their workplace and are completely incompetent. **If you will look at the Google reviews, you can see that this man also leaves positive reviews for himself on here. Thats a sure sign of someone needing to cover up their terrible work.
We were driving from North Carolina to Denver Colorado, the 3rd of July, 50miles north of Amarilo and Robert was the only one who didnt say they were closed and immediately hang up. After I explained what happened when the car died, he told me to have the car towed to him. He quickly diagnosed the problem and replaced the part. Thanks to Robert we made it home to our families that night instead having to wait until Tuesday for someone to even see us.I would definitely recommend him to anyone with mechanical trouble in or around Amarillo.
Called at 5pm with an RV a/c problem. Robert waited for us to arrive and fixed the problem. Very nice, professional, and affordable. I would highly recommend.
Mechanic took time to explain problems he seemed to care
