Was rude when I tried to find out details about location of wreck and severity of car. Asked if I didnt know where I was. My son had the car and dropped his manager off after work in a very unfamiliar area. So no, I didnt know any details of what or where.I was picking my son up from hospital and had to call sheriffs office to find car. They gave me name of wrecker and he was most unhelpful and rude. I thought we got cut off but he must have hung up because he wouldnt answer the phone again until the next day when I had to work and leave my 91 year old mom to handle it.Dont know what Im talking about? Check your phone records for Sunday, April 11 at 8:20 am. Talked for 2.56 minutes before being cut off.

Looks like I’m not the only one blown away by unprofessional customer service. Not only were they incredibly rude to me. My insurance said they were going to stop using them because they were rude to them as well. This guy needs to find a new line of work because he’s clearly miserable and pathetic.

Merchants works with Carvana and SilverRock Roadside Assistance. After scheduling a pick up at my home for 9:20 AM, I got curious why nobody had arrived come 10:30 AM, so I called. Not only was the man who answered the phone EXTREMELY RUDE but when I asked what was going on and when I should expect them to arrive, this man decided his best option was to supply even more of an attitude. Believe me, Ive worked with Merchants before and so has my whole family. I have never had someone be such a disrespectful and unprofessional person in my experiences with them. To make it short, I immediately cancelled the tow with them. I refuse to allow someone who has such disregard to other peoples time and money to make a single dime off of my vehicle, my insurance company, or even myself.Owner believes that by commenting, they validate their ineptitude and lack of customer service. Screenshots dont lie. You worry about your so called reputation but you treat customers as less than. Avoid this place for all you can. Cody isnt worth the time.

My vehicle broke down on the side of the road and i submitted a claim through my roadside assistance. Road side assistant issued this company as my wrecker to pick up my vehicle. I was given there contact number to follow up on ETA. While waiting I called to discuss possibilities of moving location for safety reason. The representative that answers the phone was very rude with stating where are you your location is not correct! As Im fumbling with my phone, trying to figure out the exact address I ask him to hold on. Mind you my window is rolled down because I cannot have my vehicle on and Im on the side of the road with numerous cars passing by in 100 degree weather. This guy starts yelling HELLO HELLO in agitated voice and I then respond sir Im trying to get the address and I dont need you to be rude! This guy hangs up on me, I call him back and he declines my call. I continue to call to make sure he has my address and he refuses to answer or call me back!! After 20 minutes of him not answering I had to call my husband to pick me and the vehicle up and had to cancel my service with road side assistance. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY THEY WILL LEAVE YOU STRANDED ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD!!!!

Locked out of our vehicle, notified our insurance company for roadside assistance, they contacted this”business “, 2 hours later, when we contacted Merchants, the man my husband talked to was rude. Our insurance contacted another company, fast and efficient, there within 15 minutes, I wish I could give less than 1 star

The tow truck driver, Arnold, that picked up my vehicle was amazing! The driver called to give me an estimated time that he would be at my location and was very polite while loading my vehicle. Unfortunately, the guy that answers the phone is rude and unprofessional. I will never use Merchant again because of the way he spoke to me on the phone.

I used them when I locked my keys in the car while it was running. They came within 10 minutes. They are always the company I call when Im in trouble they are quick courteous and professional.

My daughter’s car broke down while her and her friends were on a trip to Galveston, TX. Mind you we live in Alabama and as parents was a nervous wreck but the guys from Merchants Wrecker went above and beyond to help. They stayed in touch with us as worried parents in Alabama and also our daughter that was in Texas. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone. Very kind and friendly people.

These guys saved my buns from disaster! Accidentally backed a uhaul into a ditch and couldn’t get out. Driver Lee came and pulled me out with ease and in a prompt fashion. I was beyond relieved thank y’all so much I really don’t know what I would have done. Thank you for helping me out of a tough situation.

Company was dispatched to jump my car battery at 8:30am and I was told they would be on their way within 1 hour. I called to check the status at 9:30am and didnt receive service until 11:00. They recommended I get my car towed and said they would arrange for the pick up. I called my insurance and said no such communication was made. Lack of follow through.

Colby picked me up in Houston after after Echo dropped the ball. He was courteous, professional, on time and good about communication. On the ride back we had a pleasant conversation about his work and cars in general. They towed me from downtown to Pearland off 288. This experience has made it clear to me that getting your roadside assistance representative to communicate your problem and needs to the company doing the tow is important you ensure satisfaction.

In town tow for only $55. Good deal to me. Give them a call before the an officer does or youll have to pay $175 for a wrecker on the city rotation.

It was very late when I arrive I called the number they sent someone to open the location to allow me to get my vehicle

I told them my car was a border line total and I did not want i to get totaled so they said ok and they would put a tarp on it but when it got to the shop the car was soaked so they lied to me. If they did not want to put the tarp on all they had to do was say they would not and I would have driven out there and put the simple convertible roof back on. Instead they lied to me and said they had a tarp on it and now my entire interior is ruined because they are lying lazy scumbags

Unprofessional. Didn’t have the decency or respect to call and say they cancelled the service because THEIR tow truck was not working or unavailable.

My car broke down and roadside assistance used them. They were called at 5:30 pm and picked up the car 5 hours later. Rather than towing to the dealership, they towed it to their lot and didnt inform me. The next day, I asked roadside assistance at 7:30 am to tow it to the dealership. They dropped the car off at 1:50 and the dealer closed at 2 so no chance of getting a loaner car. They never met a time estimate, lied about the status, had horrible service on the phone and didnt bother to tell anyone what was going on. At least the wrecker driver was courteous on the phone - thats the best I can say.

Stuck on side of road and our insurance co sent Merchants our large truck made it home safe that night, however my return call to get it towed by merchant to get it fixed claims they never towed us! And man answering the call was rude! I know your company towed us I have insurance claims for it and your rudeness will allow me to share with people... not the way to treat customers buddy.. not the way...

People, please listen to these reviews. My insurance put us with this company to have our car towed on Labor Day 2019. I called at noon to confirm a 4:00 - 4:30pm arrival time. The guy who answered the phone was not particularly friendly nor informative but confirmed the arrival time and address. Up the arrival time, the tow guy is nowhere to be found. I called the company to inquire why the guy still hasnt arrived and the same guy on the phone said hes coming from far out of his way on Labor Day. I asked more questions as to his exact location but the guy on the phone was evasive and began to give me an attitude. Every time I called, the guy on the phone kept adding 30 minutes to the ETA. I asked again where the driver was and he responded sarcastically, where are you?. Called my insurance and told them the problem with this company. The manager in the insurance department called herself and confirmed the guy was rude and evasive with her questions as well. I come to find out it was the owner. The driver finally came an hour and a half late but he was very nice and professional. My insurance company put in a request to no longer use this company. If youre in a stressful situation where you need to be towed, dont call this place. The attitude and evasive answers will add to your stress. I hope this places goes out of business.

I recieved wonderful service from Arnold tonight. I was stranded with my 4 kids in an area I am not familiar with on Spring Break! Helpful, reliable and respectful tow truck service. We were stuck for 4hrs while tow trucks gouged people that were stuck in a parking garage to get them a few blocks down the street to higher ground in Galveston. This company willing helped couples who could not get a hold of insurance companies or pay the outrageous fees the other tow truck companies were asking. Highly recommend them to anyone needing their service.

After a day of long hours at work, my husband had a blow out. These guys went above and beyond in trying to help him get the spare tire on his Ford dropped and changed. After hours of working on it, they finally got it down and on the truck and he was on his way. In a world where customer service is dead and no one cares about anyone, we were blown away by their degree of care! Thank you so much. Highly recommended.

My husband called them at 11am to schedule a tow for my car at 4 pm yesterday to take my car up to the dealership for repair. He told them that I had to have the car to the dealership off 45 in Friendswood and they said no problem. They told him to call 10 min before the time and they would be over. (Mind you, the house the car was at backs up to their service yard, so less than a block difference). I called at 3:48pm to let them know I was 10 min out and they said they would be there. At 4:05pm I called back to get an ETA and he rudely told me that I had just called and he would be there. At 4:31pm I called again and was rudely informed that he was dealing with a wreck and that giving him an hour was not a long enough time. I informed him that we called at 11am to get this scheduled and he rudely gave me excuses and blamed me. I hung him. He called me back, again rude, and told me that there was a guy dropping a car at the yard and he would be over. We were at that house until 6:00pm and Merchants NEVER CAME. Dont use them!We called Lawrence Wrecker Service and they were able to get me and take my car to the dealership.

Im extremely thankful for Arnold Shimek this world needs more people like him. He actually cares about helping people and he is curtios and compassionate he saved me from being stranded in the middle of the ghetto on Galveston and even made sure I was hydrated. He made sure to keep in contact with me and kept me updated on every step. That man deserves a raise. Thank you Arnold!! I definitely recommend the merchants wrecker service because of this man!

1. Messed up my locknuts because he didnt want to wait for me to get them from the spare area of my trunk.2. Towed my brand new car that just needed a simple tire replacement and by the end I had to have 2.5 weeks, over $2000 worth of work done at the collision center because of the damage done by the tow! He completely messed up my front end not to mention all the damage that he did under the car and to my exhaust!3. Incredibly rude group of people. I called simply to confirm that Hyundai assurance had dispatched them and the guy answered the phone and was rude from his hello.4. Tow truck driver said he was 15 min away and ended up taking 2 hours from the time he was 15 min away (no traffic backups in area)

These guys are the ONLY TOWING company that i will ever let tow my truck. These guys are awesome, quick, friendly, and worth every penny. I recommend these guys over any towing company in the area. Lee is the most experienced driver they have. Cody, what can i say, just an awesome guy. Arnold,i think is cool and Willie is a riot. I was foolish to take my keys into the water at the beach - then my key would not start the car. I called my car emergency service and they sent out Merchants Wrecker Service. The Driver / Technician / (Genius) was able to get the key opened up / cleaned / dried and got it to work - totally saved my day / vacation. I could not be happier with the service that I received.

Whoever answers the phone shouldnt even be in customer service. Perhaps he needs to take a course in it and get a fn hearing aid as well.

If I could give zero stars I would. I called and they gave a good quote so they said they would be here in 30 minutes. After an hour passed and no wrecker I called and they said their truck had a check engine light and they would be there in 20 minutes. After an hour and 45 minutes later still no wrecker so I called again. They are super rude on the phone. Ended up canceling with them and calling another wrecker company. Bad service.

I called triple A for a tow and they dispatched this company. I received a text from this company with a specific time they would arrive. I waiting until that time had passed and an extra ten minutes to see if it was POSSIBLE to get a time frame for arrival. Seeing as we had a hurricane and many cars stranded, and me not knowing what their wait time was, it was better to call and check. He answered rude and was consistently rude so I asked if he had a bad day and preceded to tell him that everyone calling in is dealing with a struggle and it cost nothing to just be nice. Oh he let us have it. Luckily my insurance company was on the other phone and heard it all but he went on telling me how he was tired of people and why they cant just sit back and wait patiently instead of calling in to see when they would come. Well CODY or COBY its because some of us are stranded in the heat with our small children. And other reasons not dealing with a water damaged car. Either way I wouldnt recommend your company to anyone seeing as you are tired of the people that keep your company running. I will report you on the BBB and anywhere else I can find.

I called after my roadside dispatched this company to tow my car, The owner of the company answered. I asked him if there was A way for me to communicate with the driver by text or phone to make sure we could meet at the right time so the tow driver could have my keys. His direct response was no the 90 minutes that the roadside company gave me was enough. I try to explain to the owner of the company that I had a couple of things I had to get in order and wanted to make sure that I was there in enough time so the tow driver didn’t have to wait for me. He said no I can’t help you with that. When I suggested giving me the driver’s phone number so I could text him he said no… Then I suggested he give the driver my phone number and he said no… at this point I was upset and basically demanded better customer service and his response was that I needed professional help. So I told him to cancel the total and I was gonna find another company to do it… And he then he had the audacity to ask why. At that point he said he would give the driver my phone number… I had to threaten to cancel his services before he was willing to help me… I canceled it anyway. Needless to say the service was horrible.

Whoever answers the phones for this company is smoking something. How you gonna treat your customers like garbage. I bet he wouldnt say half the stuff he said to my face. My truck died tonight literally jist shut down on my way home, this is who roadside assistance sent to me. Arnold, the guy who picked me up was amazing, and made it to me well before the estimated time. He even put it down in my assigned parking spot at the apartment complex. Not only would I recommend this company to friends, but I will definitely use them again if the need arises.

They wouldnt even listen to me. Wouldnt concider a solution to pull a Can Am Spyder onto a flatbed. Just said they cant help me and hung up. Action Towing Service came and had no problem.

I used this company through Onstar roadside assistance. I can’t even fathom how this completely stays in business with their customer service. Cody was beyond rude when simply asking an ETA and it got worse by asking simple questions. Snarky, rude, and stated any times given were an estimate and they don’t notify people if they are running late. When I called them on their customer service they cancelled their job after totally missing the time window they provided GM. I had to totally start the process over with GM. I will be following up with GM for contracting with this company. Buyer beware!!!

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. I CALLED TO ASK WHAT TIME THE GUY WOULD ARRIVE SO I COULD GET MY CAR OUT AND HE TOLD ME TO STOP CALLING. Terrible no help very rude

TERRIBLE COMPANY!!!! My husband called Ford, who dispatched this terrible company, on TUESDAY-- to schedule Wednesday pickup/tow. On Wednesday, my husband received the automated text attached-- saying theyd be at the truck within 90 minutes. He leaves work and goes to the truck to wait. (bc he was told that he needed to be there) After 2 hours he calls Merchant Wrecker Services asking for an ETA, at which time the courteous owner tells him that he cant tell him anything, he needs to speak to the driver. So-- husband asks the guy to have the driver call him-- he agrees. No one ever calls. Husband calls ford and they cant do anything bc theyve dispatched them and thats all they can do... Long story short (kind of), its Thursday night-- the truck is still at the same location, after being dispatched by FORD ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE. My husband has called this grouchy old man several times, only to be asked over and over, Did YOU talk to ME before you left work? (in an angry Hank Hill voice) and when my husband says No. I got an automated text! I didnt need to call you! to which Hank replies well thats your OWN fault for wasting days!... Unfortunately TOO MANY companies contract this ridiculous company. It seems from the reviews that they only respond to cash calls and neglect and are terrible to the customers of the giant companies that theyre contracted by. Pitiful.Thank GOD I wasnt on the side of i10 with my toddlers.AWFUL!

Broke down shortly after leaving home and contacted the roadside assistance from my insurance. Merchants were who they sent to tow me to a shop here in town, just a few miles away. The service I received was very good. The driver was just a little later than the ETA given because of some confusion where the road I was on actually changed names beyond a point. He called for clarification and showed up right away. He hooked me up, offered me a bottle of water and we were off.I wasnt sure what to expect because nobody likes towing companies, but I was left without any complaints. Cant speak to any pricing since insurance covered me.

If you ever need tow services, do not call Merchant! Im very disappointed in the way the owner spoke with an attitude for no reason. The owner became very upset when asked how long they will be I was hung up on twice and the third time he said im very busy I dont have time to talk or repeat myself and hung up on me again. I called back and told him to just cancel. I dont want someone like that coming to my home address with such an ugly attitude.

Worst Customer service EVER!!! the Manager/Owner got an attitude with me after I asked who they where on the phone and he raised his voice and me and got real rude and ungrateful with me. They picked up my car and stored it and told me that it would be delivered first thing in the morning the next day! Then after i called them at 730 am they said it was on the way then at 1100 I called and they told me they where too busy with new calls and that my car didnt have priority! it was finally delivered at 1700. Thats 10 hrs later!! and they even got an attitude with the dealership and insurance! WORST P.O.S. OWNER

If ya wanna get towed home after being stuck on the side of the road DONT call. What started as an attitude from this guy turned into him yelling and literally refused to pick a man up knowing hes stuck on side of road with his MOTORCYCLE! He claims to be the owner and freaked out after he was asked why it was gonna be an extra hour long wait after already waiting an hour. Its almost midnight now.
