My wife and daughter actually received service from Artist Nails on a Sunday. They said that owners of the salon were very nice and engaged. They plan to go back again in the future.

Great service! So friendly, thanked us for returning and choosing them for our services after the pandemic, since it was our, my daughter and myself, first visit since the pandemic in a year and half.

Got a mani and pedi my toes look great and it felt like a good pedi but when the guy was doing my mani he was rushing. I feel like i couldnt even look at the length of my nails to see if i liked them he didnt ask if i was okay with them. I also noticed that he didnt check the nail sizes for my nails he just put glue on and saw whatever he thought fit. I was doing dip and my nails looked flat. He did not even take the time to do cuticle work and painted them poorly i had nail polish on my cuticles and sides. I dont think ill be returning i will gladly stick to the rio nail bar or lenas in waukee i paid 100$ for poor work.

We always schedule an appointment as this is a popular place for pedicures, manicures, etc. Very relaxing, always on time for our appointment. Walk ins are welcome too!

The hold is good but the design is poorly done. She was in a hurry and didnt want perfection to be done but she charged me $134 for my mani, my daughters pedi and mani and she got shellac but she is 7 and they lasted 4 days and now they all came off. I usually go to Andys and tried them for good ratings and closer to home but I guess I will call Andys next time regardless of the drive.

I love this nail salon. Professional, great service, clean, affordable, and they do an amazing job. Theyve got a great punch-card for return clients and this is the first place Ive ever bought my own box. Ive only gotten pedicures so I cant speak for the nails but Ive been very happy with each visit.

2 days after getting my nails done, you couldn’t even tell they got done. They all broke. Never asked to trim my nails. Won’t be back.

These people took advantage of my daughter. I didnt go in with her because of covid. My daughter is 12. They charged her $60.00 to have her nails done and the nail didnt even cover her real nail.

People were nice but probably the worst set of acrylics that i’ve ever had. i was working and one snapped (i was just cleaning a table), then i was getting dressed and another one snapped and the other one has just been slowly chipping away. 3 broken nails in a week and a half. never have had this issue with acrylics. i had better luck with store bought ones.

The owners and staff are friendly and caring and make an effort to know their customers by name.It is so relaxing to get a nice pedicure in the comfortable massage chairs.I love seeing the beautiful and unique designs they can create for my nails. Artist Nails is a perfect name for this shop!Life is too short to go around with naked nails! 😀

I am now sitting in U of I quick care because of this place. The lady that did my nails openly admitted after almost being done with my manicure that she was sick and had a fever. She wasnt wearing a mask most of the time and was coughing all over with out washing her hands! Extremely unprofessional should not be working while sick and if you are practicing better hand hygiene would be great.My manicure is a mess, she did a horrible job filing them...it took her a whole 30 seconds to do it. I honestly thought she was just going through them once roughly then was going to go back. Well I was wrong. They were very jagged and sharp. Paint is already coming off the top of them and they were just done on Saturday. My mom and I were both not please with our manicure and we wont be going back.

I was over charged for a crappy job. My nails were crooked, and the tops were not smooth but had dips in them. Ive never gone back and never will. Try grace nails in Ankeny instead! They are awesome

First time went well. Came back a second time as I received a gift certificate and service was terrible. I wanted a festive New Years design on my nails. I told this to Tina who informed me that my nails were too short and that I could only have color done unless I wanted to get nails put on. Really? Saw the nail tech I had on first visit, noticed that she had short nails with the design I was looking for and pointed this out so why the issue in the first place? I had the same tech from my first visit her skill level this visit was mediocre uneven and streaky color in some areas. During my visit I saw a young girl who Tina serviced get rejected with her nail idea that she had pinned - was the owner having a bad day? Another issue was pricing due to the design on my shellac tech had to negotiate the additional cost for me. Tech asked Donnie how much extra for the sparkle design Donnie came back at 10 and she tried to negotiate the cost to $5 and then they settled on $7.00. Wow! I ended up not using all of my gift certificate and Donnie calculated incorrectly the difference tried to tell me I had $6 left on the GC and both the tech and I had to correct him that it was $16.00. Can you say rip off! After my GC is used up I am done with this place.

I have a hard time with communication. Its hard to understand what they are saying and they dont appear to understand me. I had a pedicure which left the sides of my feet and the back of my heels bleed. When I took the polish off, my toe nails had hard white spots on them. The white spots went clear through the nail and just broke off the nail in spots. I wont go back.

They do my nails well every time I come in and they are always so polite and welcoming. I really enjoy getting my nails done here.

This place is very ridiculous...Shouldn’t have to pay $5 extra for a certain shape or length.. which is really stupid.never coming here again. Funny thing he never told me all this extra stuff cost more until he put on my nails.

Artist Nails is a very professional, helpful salon. If you do not know exactly what you are looking for, the staff is very knowledgable and helpful. The owners work along side their staff and are always available for questions. I have been going here for years and have never had a pr9blem. i highly recommend this salon.

I have been coming here for the past few weeks. You never know what you are going to get. Tina is nice depending on the day. I wont come back for 2 reasons 1) It was embarrasing to be told in front of customers “I dont have time for you” (loudly) then after spending almost $200 in the past three weeks to be treated so dismissive. 2) Donnie told me he was busy and was finishing a lady up. Noone else was there. They are expensive and sometimes have good customer service and other days not. In addition, I asked for Ombre nails and because they didnt feel like doing them, told me they didnt do them. The kit was sitting right on the table!!! Altoona nail salons need a huge improvement. The nail salons out here have horrible customer service! I guess I have to make the drive to West Des Moines.

Very dissatisfied with my nails...the lady didnt secure my own nail to the gel so now they are rough and I am constantly rubbing the rough edges....this woman was also very rude saying my nails had fungus growing in them...they do not! She also filed one nail so it is at an odd angle...will never go back there!!!!!!!

I went for a pedicure..my feet have lots of cracks and are dry...i wanted red polish with a white/gold rose...i got the red polish n just a flower cause the lady couldnt do a rose.
