In the past I have given this location a five star review, but unfortunately that was do to a singular person. Beverly performed my taxes for 4 years and she did so with absolute efficiency, professionalism, and attentiveness. She has since retired and this year another person, Karen, was assigned to my tax profile. I will admit that my case is unique because I currently live in another country and did not receive my second stimulus check (while living in the USA). Karen would not email me more than once a week, did not make efforts to keep me up to date with her progress, and consistently delayed her task in doing my taxes. I emailed her in early March and it is now September and she has completed my tax return. Her communication was slow and at times unproductive. I would no longer recommend that someone go to this location to find an agent to do their taxes. I would recommend that you find a tax agent who is not overburdened and who takes the time to communicate with you.

I like how convenient it was to upload my documents and connect with my tax expert through the app.

Preporation took longer than expected. We didnt like the whole covid experience this year.

We trust Karen and her team to treat us like family and be there for us if we need them!

We have been using the Alpine California Office for the last 13 years and we always get great service and it takes the pressure off of us doing our own taxes as we would rather the experts do them... We had had no problems in the last 13 years... Thank you...

Norma in the Alpine, Ca office is amazing. Shes why I come to H&R Block. If she werent there then Id be using Turbo Tax because what H&R Block charges is ridiculous.

Beverly Wallace is a Tax Queen and just helped me with my taxes for the second time, 3 years in a row now going to H& R block and every experience has been very beneficial. Before H & R Block I always owed money or broke even then I did my taxes with them and recieved over $1000 each year since. They even forecast next years tax return and things you can do to increase your earnings based on your situation.

Very horrible time management. They ask you to be there 15 min prior to your appointment time. So i was. 20 min after my actual appointment time i still wasn’t being helped. On top of that i was the only customer in h and r block. Your better off downloading turbo tax and doing your taxes for free.

Karen is very thorough and helpful. She always helps us get the best possible return.

Its just nice being able to see a familiar face every year when I get my taxes done.

I would not recommend this place at all it Rude and demanding for payment after taking about a month to even submit my file.

One of the best H&R I know, the service is excellent and they always go out of their way to help even with complex tax situations. Because of that I kept my business here even after I moved out to Northern California.

I have been working with Karen Mehta, for a few years and 2016 taxes will be the last time I file with her! There have been several issues working with her.In 2015 I had to file an extension because my traveling schedule got to chaotic. Even with an extension she barely got my taxes filed before the extension dead line.This year (2018) I ended up getting a letter from the California FTB claiming that I owed a few hundred dollars in unpaid 2015 CA taxes. I had asked Karen to look into this matter since I paid for the peace of mind service. Her exact words were “Ill take a look at your 2015 CA return and the FTB letter and get back to you shortly.” The problem is she never looked into this matter. I had to call the CA FTB and resolve the problem.Then in 2016 I received a letter from the IRS for $97 late penalty fee. I had filed on time and should not have had any late fees. I asked her to look into this and please explain to me why I am getting this fee. She had asked me to fill out a power of attorney form so she could call the IRS on my behave to resolve this problem. I had filled out the paper work and returned it to her. Again she had never looked into this matter!In 2017, Karen had talked me into trying out quickbooks, which I was set up paying monthly. Towards the end of the year she asked me to pay in full 2018. When it was time to file my 2017 taxes, I was so frustrated with quickbooks that I decided I didn’t want to use it for 2018. I had ask Karen for a refund for the 2018 QB fees that I had paid to her up front. Her response was, “For the QuickBooks, how about we credit the cost of unused months off your tax prep for 2017?” When I was ready to file my 2017 taxes I decided to use a different tax prep option other than Karen. I had informed her and again asked for that quickbooks refund. Her response was, “I do not see that any refund is due.”If you are looking for a good tax refund and someone who will stand by you when peace of mind service is needed, I would look into other tax prep agents before using Karen Mehta.
