This place agreed to cover 28 days with a good possibility of extended duration of stay if needed for housing at a local Rodeway inn hotel due to me being affected by the COVID Corona virus nationally declared disaster/pandemic. The church received funds from the federal government to offer assistance to the homeless such as back rent, late rent, temporary housing, home down payments, etc. I had run into a issue with the hotel manager about 24 days into my stay and was forced to leave the property with no where to go and homeless. I called the catholic charities that same day and ended up leaving a message and was told I would be called right back and for 4 days I called numerous times each day and left messages and never received a call back. I walked a few miles after the fourth day to speak to them in person since my calls weren’t returned and I was told that the owner wouldn’t allow me to return to the hotel and the church could not place me into another hotel because the Rodeway in off Downyflake lane Allentown 18103 was the only place who would accept a check payment from the church and they were the only hotel the church had a contract with. The church told me they would cover me if the owner of the hotel allowed me to come back however when I returned to the hotel and talked to the manager Chad and owner Danni they called the church and told them they would allow me to comeback and stay and the church still denied to pay for my stay so they basically ignored me for four days with over 30 total calls and at least 5 messages and then lied to my face about covering more time for me at the hotel. It was a very difficult experience and left me very hurt and in a very difficult situation during an already very hard traumatic period of time.

There are a lot of bad reviews here because of money. That is ridiculous. Its a charity. They charge next to nothing for thousands of dollars worth of legal advice. The trade-off is that they are a little slower than an attorney would be. That is probably due to their high case load. These are good, hardworking people who spend their time helping others. I switched from CC to an attorney because I wanted to speed up my immigration process and I could afford it. But the staff here are so kind and caring, that if I did not have the funds, I would have been alright with staying with CC. Its a great organization.

This place is unorganized. The staff is incompetent and will never respond to you. They surely take your money fast but after that youre lucky if you hear from them once a month. Please dont make the mistake of coming here. Your time will be wasted.

Stay away from this place if you expect competent service. This organization is, at the least, poorly managed. We had an appointment with one of their specialists on April 3, 2018. We were asked for all sorts of personal documents and were promised that we would be contacted in 7 calendar days. We never heard back from them. After calling repeatedly for several days, leaving voicemail messages and speaking with multiple representatives we were never able to reach the specialist. We also never received any type of feedback regarding our case. 50 calendar days after seeing us we received a phone call just to let us know their specialist was too busy to review our case and we would have to wait at least two more months for that. Any respectable organization would have been able to tell us that when we first contacted them or at least shortly after our initial appointment. They are very polite and gracious but utterly disorganized.

Unorganized, and its hard to believe that is a church charity. All they care about is money and are not considerate of the people that come to them for help and guidance.
