I will say that when reading this, keep in mind that I have used King for five jobs over six years and five of those jobs were done in a timely matter and with great results. This time, not so much.I dropped off a set of front brake calipers on May 13th and was told about two weeks (which is what I have been normally told). I then dropped off a set of rear calipers to match the fronts on June 28th. The fronts that had been sitting there for 6 weeks were not done (doubtfully started). I was told to leave the rears and the entire set would be done on Monday (July 1st).I received no call on Monday. When I called on Tuesday (July 2nd), I was told they were behind and would have them done on Wednesday (July 3rd). I called on Wednesday to see when I could pick them up and I was told that they wouldn’t be done for another week because they were still in an acid bath. I can’t even begin to write the tone and words that were used with me during this conversation and after I had mentioned several times that the fronts had been there for seven weeks, the information was checked and I was apologized to. I was told that he would personally come in on July 4th to finish them, worst case July 5th.I did not expect them to be done on the 4th. I received no call on the Friday (July 5th). I called two minutes after closing and left a voicemail that I wanted to pick them up on Monday and to call me Monday morning. Surprise, I received no call on the morning of the 8th. I called at lunch time and was told they were done.I picked them up and man should I have unwrapped them all right there and inspected them. Being so frustrated, I paid (half the quoted cost, which I believe was a clerical error since they only ever wrote down the front calipers when I dropped them off and did not do the same for the rears) and loaded them up and left. When I got home, I found that they did not tape off any of the mounting points like I had discussed when I dropped them off and the icing on the cake was a poor tape job was done on the rear caliper piston chamber...the only spot on the entire caliper where paint should never ever be. If I had to guess, they showed up Monday morning, checked voicemails and when they realized that the calipers still weren’t done (8 weeks for the fronts and 1 week for the rears), quickly shot and baked them without taping. The pictures show what I picked up plus several hours of a wire wheel to the mounting areas that should’ve been taped off from the beginning. Also, I had to chase the threaded holes because they hadn’t been plugged either. I still can’t get all of the coating out of the piston chamber at this point.Again, prior to this job, King has done three sets of wheels for me (one of which I still have and was done in 2013...still looks great) and a set of front brake calipers. Whatever happened this year is beyond acceptable even if the wait was less than 8 weeks. I will not be going back here nor will I be recommending work to go there. I can’t even trust them at this point to fix the problems that they created.
Ive had multiple items done by them over the years. But be sure not to expect your item in 2-3 days as they typically do runs of a certain color every week so make sure to understand that. Had 1 issue with an item a while back and they were on it right away and had no problem whatsoever making it right and that they did. Pricing is completely fair for the quality of work you receive. All in all I will continue to bring my stuff to them
I had some peices powder coated and they turned out beautiful. beautiful colors and great work.they are a nice couple very respectful and curtious.i will definitely be back .thank you King Coatings.
Good work get what you pay for
I HIGHLY recommend King Coating especially for wheel powder coating. I had awful peeling (Lexus defect) and curb damage on all 4 of my wheels, they were embarrassing to even have on my car. After Kings re did them they look brand new as if they came off a brand new car. I cannot express how happy I am with this place. These guys really know what they are doing. Thank you so much !!!!!!! See before and after picture i posted it says it all!!
Great place to get your stuffed powder coated
I had my heat shields for my Harley-Davidson done there they look awesome
I have been a customer for over 20 years and have never been disappointed with their work, I have had several commercial contracts through different employers and Johnny has come through every time. I have used King Coatings in many restoration projects and I am always pleased with their craftsmanship and very reasonable pricing.
