Its been a great experience being a member at First Commonwealth Federal Credit Union. Its been more incredible for all of the friendships that I have developed over the years and I wouldnt change any of it for anything in the world. The friendships were with the staff members and I love all the services that are offered and I dont get the chance to say thank you, so FCFCU Thank you and God bless you all that work there π
Called at 4:10 waiting on the phone itβs 4:55 and no one has answered they close at 5 this is poor service
I recently received a call from the fraud center that someone tried to use my debit card in another state. FC saw that I did not live in that state and declined the charge but called me to make sure I didnt travel to that state and was using my card. They immediately shut down my card and had me come in to get a new card. I made the appointment at the Bethlehem branch and was greeted professionally and was out of the bank with my new debit card within 1/2 hour. We have never had a problem with FC.Due to the pandemic, we have had to wait in line to deposit an occasional check. Most of our banking is done online so this isnt a common issue.
I love their customer service, when I have to deal with them they treat me with the utmost respect, and I have recommended them to friends and family

I have been with credit union for 28 years. I have never had a problem with a wait time on the phone. I have never had a problem with the employees at various locations. I love this credit union and measure others banks/ credit unions to their high standard. Thank you First Commonweath!!!! I am happy to see this credit union growing!
I called several times regarding a charge that was showing up on my bill and they said they couldnβt see it. I indeed was being charged $40 penalty for paying my loan early. I tried to explain that I work for a non profit and get paid in the beginning of the month but they didnβt care. The fact that I called to inquire about the charge and they said βthey couldnβt see itβ goes to show the low quality of people that are hired at this bank- I donβt think the people I spoke with really even cared enough to look into my account or maybe they just didnβt want to deal with it. I had to refinance. I wouldnβt refer this bank to anyone regardless of their lower APR.
This credit union is pretty terrible. My debit card doesnt work half the time. They make it hard to raise limits on prepaid credit cards, requiring you to deposit the funds for a week before you can use your own money. The atm withdraw and deposit is limited to $400. You cannot raise the limit, ever. Put in $401 and they will hold the money for a week. Put in $400 and its available right away. Take $400 out and your maxed out. No bathrooms in the bank either. Slow service. Lots of I dont know answers. Slow callbacks from people with authority. Business account was a joke. They ran my credit without asking me first. Spent 4 hours in person to open a business account I ended up closing. Good for cashing checks and in person withdrawals. Good for wire transfers. Not much else.

Terrible customer experience at the call center (Katie)! Completely unhelpful and spoke to me like I was an idiot. I called with a simple question regarding a bill and she asked me if I was aware how a credit card and late fees work - she was not friendly about it. I was so upset by this question- I have had one late credit card payment but I wasnt even calling regarding my credit card. She just looked at my account and decided to speak freely. Insulting, rude, and I didnt get my question answered. She argued with me when I asked to speak with someone else or to speak to her supervisor. I wanted to speak to someone at the actual bank but all I could reach was the call center during the day. Unacceptable.
Long waiting for service on drive tru . why dont they enable more tellers?
The worst place to do any banking lines over 3 to 4 ahours waiting in drive through ATM never worked the door is closed .look for other bank best bet.
I have no problems with the F.C. itself or its staff but I will admit I am puzzled by their choice of locations, i.e. moving into pre-existing buildings. The Bethlehem branch doesnt have convenient entrance/exit (you have to drive through the entire Weis parking lot to leave) and the one on Union Blvd is worse. Barely visible from the street (drove past it the first time around). Cant enter from Union itself. must drive in from behind, past 2 other businesses, up a steep hill (will never try in bad weather) and into a TIGHT parking area just to use the ATM! (why didnt they put it in the back where the drive-thru is?) The new branch opening soon on MacArthur road looks much more promising in terms of accessibility.

Worst experience with a credit union/bank ever.If you call to make a payment I have videos and audio proof to back up my horror stories of attempting to get help through this bank. Debbie Gross was the collections manager that hung up on me and acted like an over-payed infant. Absolutely terrible service.Customer service is everything when your business does the same exact thing thousands of others do.ABSOLUTE WORST BANK EVER. STAY AWAY. Business practices still stuck in the stone age. Service fees and hidden withdraw and transfer fees for everything. Payment fees for making payments. Unable to easily process anything online or even worse, if you need help, may heaven help you because the service reps definitely can not. If you are above the age of 70 you may be able to cope with this, but if you are younger than that you will literally be laughing at the amount of service fees. Actually had multiple workers HANG UP ON ME. Service with a smile.
Getting ANYONE on the phone to discuss an issue is nearly impossible. Their wait time is skewed and if you leave a call back number, nobody will actually call you back. To add to the frustration, their wait music is so hyper, it makes a stressful situation of not being able to speak to anyone that much more agitating.
I am done with this credit union. I have been banking with them for years and their MEMBER SERVICES SUCK. Lies and lack of communication from their end is outstanding.
Terrible customer service! All this credit union likes to do is take your money for fees. Good Luck finding someone at the Lehighton location actually be able to explain anything, because they are timid and say its not this location who charged a fee. So they cant talk to any fees, nor do they offer a simple answer of let me get a branch manager or someone else that you can speak with. I should have stayed away from them with the mortgage process got held up 3 weeks because they didnt process paperwork timely. The only good part of First Commonwealth is Kim M she was the mortgage originator as was very timely with responses and keeping us in the loop with delays. However when information left Kims hands and went to others at First Commonwealth like Sandra H (the service dropped terribly). My name was spelled wrong on paperwork, missed deadline to have a commitment letter to our realtor, then arguing three times (via email) 4 days before closing regarding the actual amount needed at closing. After I already had the amount confirmed by the title company, all because of typos on Sandras part. You would think this was the first time handling a mortgage ever at First Commonwealth. Then they send someone to your closing you would think they would setup your account with the direct deposit paperwork the same day. NOPE! They wait about 2 weeks later to send you a letter, however in the process of this charge you $5.00 because YOU didnt update your address for your primary residence (aka the mortgage you just closed on). Then in the same letter send you a survey on the process, and yet NOBODY addresses your concerns. Going to the Lehighton office is a joke as well. Went to the location for a certified check, was treated like we were bothering them to come in for the check (personal conversation was more important than customer service)....only to be handed a receipt of the withdrawal with a $7.00 charge for cutting the check for you! The representative (Teller 0327) never said anything about the charge, gave us the check and proceeded to continue her personal conversation with the other teller. The final straw was closing my account because the checking account would charge you $1.00 for every 10 debit transactions so I never used the account. Received a letter that my account would be closed, no problem. Go to confirm the account was closed at the Lehighton branch and asked what happened to my deposit.....only to find out YEP we charged a $5.00 fee because the account was dormant. As I questioned the teller about what is the value of using this credit union because I am under the impression credit unions should save you money, not charge for everything she couldnt answer anything because she didnt charge the fees! So lack of customer service will drive another customer (my husband) away from this credit union.
Ive been with them since 2002. My mortgage is with them. They are helpful, YOU need to take advantage of them and their services. They typically work well with you if you hit a hardship, but communication is key. Better then NKBT.
Very poor atmosphere. The workers always look stressed out and seem like theyre struggling to do the simplest of things. Also, why isnt there a drive thru ATM? If it wasnt for the new Whitehall location opening up recently I wouldve closed my account with First Commonwealth by now.
You can only use your debit card ten times a month, including the ATM to get cash. Any transactions after ten you get charged an additional $1 every time. I bought a soda today using my card and was charged a $1 fee from the bank. Closed my account today, dumbest thing Iβve ever heard in my life.
Terrible customer service, extremely slow. Seems like half of Allentowns finest has accounts here somehow. Stay away from this branch and make the drive to the Easton branch.
This credit union is horrendeous. Ive been with them for 10+ years now and cant stand them anymore. They would constantly hit me with an overdraft fee even though I have overdraft protection. They would bounce checks even though I have overdraft protection. They recently claimed I never made a credit card payment, but the payment was made before the due date with a payoff. Stay away from a long time member.

This is by far the worst banking experience of my life! New member as of last month. Opened checking, savings, cd, all with a considerable amount of money! From day one I cant access my acts on line, been given wrong access code 3 times, would not accept my passwords including the one they gave me, would not accept my debit card they gave me at my local branch! Called manager at my local branch to set up appt to correct all of this bull and she never asked my full name or even my acct number! The attitude she had was like she didnt care! Tried to get a number or email for president or ceo, forget it! I think, no I know I made a huge mistake by joining this organzation! Nobody gives a dam about anything! Please, I hope somebody with real authority reads this and helps me out! Know what, might be too late for that!!!! Very angry and upset!!! David fulmer
Poorest communication for mortgage process. Kennenth in processing will HANG UP on you due to the FACT he is a loan processor and doesnt understand the first process is ordering the APPRAISAL. Always an insane wait time...2 tellers max and maybe 1 in the drive thru..ive been a customer for many years and am considering switching...wouldnt recommend this bank to anyone!
It sucks getting to there new ATM. My bumper got scratched and my rims on my car got scratched. The entrance to the ATM is just as stupid as going up the Walmart hill π‘.

I try to add my daughter in my account so she can have access to it and they told me that she had to be there as so they can see her, i meant what the hell is that, my daughters live in P.R., is my account and i can add whoever i want is TERRIBLE, it just dont make sense at all, so i cant add anybody unless they are physically there, WHAT A SHAME.

The best bank that I have known I have financed 2 vehicles with them and despite the fact that the first time all the banks offered me an interest above 10% for my little credit history, Mrs. Isabelle Mendez helped me a lot in my process and I was able to obtain a 4.25% interest
The worst bank that can exist, your money is not safe if you make a mistake sending money via cash app forget about them they will not help you, if you buy something online and you do not receive it even if you explain that they made you a fraud forget about it, you will also lose your money, they will send you to call they will give you back and there will be no answer, my family and I are definitely leaving this bank to NEVER EVER return!
