I moved recently and I needed an good, honest mechanic near home. I decided to try Dans and brought a car in because my air conditioning wasnt working. I was quoted a price of about $1,400.00, a little steep I thought but they explained that the entire dash had to be removed and it was a two day job. I gave the go ahead, but failed to get a written quote. They started work and finished the job then gave me the bill $1,930.00 which is a bit more than the original quote. Im not sure who I dealt with at the front desk but he said oh, I quoted $1,900. Im pretty sure I did not mix up 1,400 with 1,900. My bad for not getting it in writing, guess I was too trusting. Now the air conditioner works although not as good as before so I guess they are ok mechanics but Im pretty sure they are not honest. Honesty and integrity go a long way, I wont be bringing my cars back to Dans.

I blew a rusty brake line on my work van a few miles from Dans shop. He was able to tow my van to his shop that day and fix the break line the next for a reasonable price. Dan and his employees were all very friendly and personable, I highly recommend his services.

My late father was a loyal Dan’s customer and now I am too. I have dropped in several times without an appointment and they have always been pleasant and eager to help. I highly recommend them.

My daughter was heading back to Lock Haven University when her Ford Focus started to mis-fire. She pull off route 309 by PA Turnpike entrance and called me for my assistance. I called Dons and talked to the nice lady at the front desk at, who quickly provide me with confidence that they will be able to help my daughter. An hour and a half later my daughter was back on the road to collage. Even in a situation where they could have gouged the customer I felt the price for the parts and service provided I got a good deal. Thanks to everyone at Dons Garage for helping us in a time of need.

While traveling and hundreds of miles from home we blew an idler pulley. When I searched for a garage I found that Dan’s was close by. We arrived and Dan put a friendly mechanic right on it. They diagnosed, ordered parts and had us back on the road in no time at a reasonable price. While waiting, my wife and I had a pleasant conversation with Dan. One of the best quality auto repair and service shops around. Great work always on time, and most importantly honest. They always give me the straight assessment on my vehicles and recommend what they would do knowing what they know about the industry.

Not only were they able to see my car right away, but I was blown away by their understanding. The problem ended up being something I had to take to the dealer, but when they realized that, they didn’t charge me for the diagnostic or the attempted piece replacement since they didn’t fix anything. That level of honesty ensures that if I need anything else I’m going to them first.

Ive been going to Dans Auto for a few years now. They are professional and by far one of the best independent repair shops I have ever used. They are extremely thorough and prices are reasonable. I checked the price I was charged on 4 tires against some of the larger internet sites and Dans beat their prices. Everyone is friendly and its great to have a garage you can trust. If you want to be screwed and nickeled and dimes this is your place. They have the balls to jack parts 4x the cost. Then charge you ridiculous labor rate. Look at your bill, then look up the part actual cost. Drive as fast as you can from this place. Truly Scum screwing the public.

I had the same tire go flat within a week and they fixed both holes immediately for a more than reasonable price.

Can’t say enough about this place. We’ve had several large issues with different vehicles and there was nothing they couldn’t handle. They treat us like family, know us, know our kids, ask us about our lives. Once our trunk latch system broke and they called around and found it for us and installed it for a really great price. Saved us several hundred dollars. Same thing happened when we needed a tire replaced after an accident- they called around and found a replacement part that saved us several hundred dollars.

Just want to give a hats off to Dan and his family for the beautiful job they are doing rebuilding and expanding the former gas station into the new auto repair/service station at Tilghman and Oakview in Upper Macungie Township. To my husband and me -- who live in Oakland Park and pass the business frequently -- it looks like everything is being done carefully and correctly. Kudos and best wishes.

I took my truck in for loss of engine power and they diagnosed it as the intake manifold, charged my over $900 to fix it. I drove it 5 miles after they replaced the manifold and the same problem happened again. It took almost a month and braking down twice to where my truck need to be towed back before they found the actual problem then charged me another $360 to replace the fuse box, that takes 15min to replace and charged me a 1 hour labor charge. I dont recommend anyone to go there with major vehich issues.
