I work in the the Algonquin/Crystal Lake area but live about an hour away and my wheel bearing broke while at work. Robs shop had great reviews and was close enough to get my car to without towing. The reviews did not disappoint! Rob was very friendly, professional and gave me a very fair price for the parts/labor. No issues what so ever and I was back in my truck within 24 hours. Rob’s auto shop is the definition of old school, high quality mechanics!I was having an issue with my Ranger picking up oil and circulating it through the motor. Was told by numerous people that it must be the oil pump. Easily a $1,200+ job.Rob’s auto took the time to locate the problem, the oil pump drive gear, which ended up costing only $540!Can’t thank them enough, saved me time AND money! 10/10 recommended!

After using a few of the local mechanics in the area for years. I found Robs Auto repair, on line and noticed he received great reviews.Low key honest and fair. You see I have a young adult family and have 4 vehicles. What this means is,every time I turn around, something brakes down or needs repair. This is becoming VERY costly. I understand this is what normal wear and tear costs. But the other auto places I have found, seemed to keep going up in price. Put it this way, over the winter my Lexus needed a alternator, I needed a tow $$$, but was charged approximately $900.00 ( this is just for the alternator). I was stuck, needed it to be done. after looking over all the repairs I had done in the past year, this all added up $$$.When I met Rob, all I asked is for him to be honest and upfront with me. After my first experience, I had my brakes done front and back, it was that simple. I didnt get a long laundry list of things that needed to be done. I thought it was a fair and great price.I trust Rob and his team! He has my business moving forward!I highly appreciate his business!

I cannot say enough about Rob and Robs Complete Auto Repair! I had started experiencing white smoke from the tailpipe of my 2016 Ford Edge. I originally took it into a Goodyear service center and was given a short diagnosis of engine blown and here is an estimate for a new one. I took my car to Rob. Not only was the engine not blow, it was a fixable head gasket, affordable repair. Within a week of that, my car had another strange engine issue, completely unrelated. Rob and his team found a piston completely cracked in several places.All said and done, Rob got to the bottom of the issue and repaired my vehicle less than 1/3 of the price of a new engine.I HIGHLY recommend him and his team!

AC has issue. It would not hold refrigerant. Self troubleshoot and find leak somewhere near line bulk head. Take car to Rob. He did quick test (put some refrigerant into low pressure port). Similar finding. He removed bulk head and replaced two O-rings and quick test. Again same finding but now saw very tiny crack near line base. Wont see it unless apply little pressure to the line (tough and lucky find). A phone called to check, verify against vehicle VIN, and order part (AC pipe line assembly ???). Part arrived and he installed. 10 minutes later, refrigerant put in. AC works.Excellent service. Like the way he did step-by-step testing. Thanks!Recommended

I was having an issue with my heater blower. The guys at the shop took a look at it & took the cover off & it was clogged with leaves & pine needles. Got my heater blower working & didnt even charge me for looking at it or their time. Great customer service. Definitely will go back if I need any work done.

I took my Infinity in to have some work done that was quoted to me by a dealer that would have costed me over $1,400. Rob got it done for $450.00. This is the first time I was in there, and I felt very comfortable talking to him! Very professional! Took a second vehicle in the next day to be serviced! I will be a customer for life!

Rob is the most honest and upfront mechanic ive ever met ....Took some time to figure out all my car issues but the integrity of not wanting it to leave his shop until finished and right was way worth the wait!! His shop is tucked away a little bit but i suggest u find it if your having car troubles! Rob did the work as promised, very promptly, and at a good price (tie rod ends and stabilizer links). This is my first time using Rob. Based on that experience I would not hesitate to go back or recommend Robs to friends.

For years I was taking my cars to a fancy shop with TVs, free water and coffee, AC and nice customer service employees. Any repair had to take one or two days and never under$1000. Start believing thats normal until I took my Matrix to Robs. I dropped the car at 9:30 and he called at 12pm that is ready. He changed the belt and the tensioner (a full day in the other place as is very dificult to install), changed brakes pads and discs and recharged the AC. When he called I thought we is joking but he said: Not kidding, we know people need their cars to get back to their lives. Thats what we do . And I paid $700. Thats less than half than the fancy place for same work. He got me as customer for life. Thank you!Radu Simpetrean.

Their hourly rate is incredibly low compared to the quality of work that he does. It would seem foolish to pay higher labor rates and longer wait times for similar quality work.

A friend recommended Robs auto repair to me when my car needed repairs.  Im so glad they did.  Rob was so kind and personable.  He was honest about what needed to be repaired and very fair with pricing.  Im so happy to have found a good mechanic.  Highly recommend.

Hello all,This is a follow up per the review I did below. Per the review below, and please read it when you can. This current review confirms the excellent work Robs Complete Auto, on Algonquin Road, did on my 1992 Nissan Maxima. As a follow up all is working great. I left the car out outside a few days in the very cold we had and it started RIGHT UP!...let alone it is running great. The few days I took it back and forth from work the one day I came back down I-90 from Meacham Rd to Randle at 80 to 90 MPH it ran AWESOME and smooth. What he fixed as far as the mass airflow sensor was the root cause let alone the money he saved me. The motor mount is perfect. As far is the patching he did on my body work for the floor, I drove during the snow and rain events we had and all is DRY AS A DRUM!!...thank you so much Rob. Now he just took my car in again as a routine follow up to see how things are working...this is awesome and so CARING on his part. I will be getting an oil change and he is going to follow up on all what was done. At this time all is GOOD. Again, thank you so much Rob and your team. My experience with Rob and Rob’s Complete Auto Repair in Algonquin was AWESOME and GREAT!! I have a 1992 Nissan Maxima that was running great but it all of a sudden would not start. I was told by one mechanic that he couldn’t fix it and another mechanic that it was too involved and would cost over a $1000 to repair which would include replacing the computer. I went online and checked reviews and came across Rob’s Complete Auto Repair for a third opinion. First, Rob was very kind and understanding. He understood that the car was previously running great and that I had just put new tires and brakes on it. I explained I didn’t want to sink a lot of money into if it wasn’t worth it. Rob took it in and thoroughly checked it out and found the problem. He repaired some electrical wiring and replaced the mass airflow sensor. The computer was fine! He fixed it!! The car is running great! AND, he kept the cost down saving me a lot of money! He also repaired a few other things and did an awesome job. He also caught that the motor mount was bad which wasn’t found before. That’s huge. He also did some body repair work repairing a leak under the rear seat flooring. Take your car to Rob’s and experience the best of the best whether just routine maintenance or a complex problem. He will give you an honest and reasonable price, and a great repair. If I could give a zero star rating I would. It was a horrible experience to deal with this repair shop!! The lack of irresponsibility negligence and extreme lack of professionalism is appalling!This auto repair shop assured me that my vehicle was going to be ready within 2 weeks but two weeks turned to a month and a half. In order for me to recuperate my vehicle I had to demand it back and this was after several visits without being able to see my vehicle in the shop. It seemed to me that they were using my vehicle for personal use. My vehicle was damaged from the exterior! The expectation was that my vehicle was going to be fixed not wrecked!The owner never answers my phone calls and is not taking the responsibility for his actions beware of the mechanic shop. It doesn’t deliver any results now I have more damage no compensation and a lot of time lost!!!

They are quick, very professional and honest. I will be using them for all my car repairs in the future. Very happy customer!!!!!
