Very convenient. Excellent therapist. Flexible with scheduling. I have really appreciated the helpfulness and counsel I have received.
Sessions with Kat Milberger, a therapist registered at the Colvin Street location, have been tremendously helpful and rewarding. Kat is extremely kind, welcoming, engaging, thoughtful, and insightful. She’s personable and professional in her approach which seems tailored to the patients specific needs. She offered the opportunity to submit additional information prior to sessions which I also appreciate. I’m very happy to be one of her clients.
Brooke Varma has been involved in the disability community since she was 5 years old helping her 16 year old brother with Downs Syndrome learn how to dial 911 in case of an emergency. Her passion started at an early age and her commitment to make a difference has never wavered. Knowing the services available she has helped me to navigate the support system enabling me to get the best support available for my son/ her brother. She has made a tremendous impact on his life and our life.
I have been with over 35 different therapists over the past 8 years moving from in-patient to out-patient therapy and back in again. Ive worked with therapists with many different specialties and styles as well. None of them worked. Ive been seeing Jorge Wallace at Thriveworks now for 6 months, and Ive finally found someone whos starting to make it work. Ive never connected with another therapist so much on a personal level, and I also really appreciate the time he and the team at Thriveworks make for me with my hectic work schedule. Id definitely encourage anyone to at least sit down and talk him and then youll know.
Mary Alice Fields, a therapist at the Colvin Street, Alexandria, VA location is an exceptional therapist. She has nearly 30 years experience as a therapist, and takes the time to develop a positive, trusting relationship with her clients. She works together with the client to find the best pathway for them toward healing and renewal.
Having been a client of Jorges now for the last couple of months, I really, really look forward to our chats. I feel very at ease. He has been an immense help with me figuring out that I did my best. Still a little hard to do sometimes, but Jorge continues to give me the tools to stay on a positive path and not feel guilty when the thoughts of not being a good parent try to slip in.
Brooke Varma is incredibly passionate and knowledgeable. Her insight and advocacy have been such a gift for my family - especially my daughter and I. We are so thankful to be able to work with her!
I highly recommend Brooke Varma as a counselor. She is inclusive, compassionate, and deeply cares about serving others. Brooke naturally creates a welcoming environment and would be a blessing for anyone seeking growth or healing.

Her family’s personal journey speaks to her genuine desire to help others live well. Brooke’s knowledgeable support has been invaluable in helping our family navigate the challenges of living with autism.
Jorge Wallace is the first counselor / therapist Ive had where I look forward to meeting with him every week. His patience and care for his clients is unmatched. He is the most cool, calm, and collected therapist Ive ever had and every week I leave feeling like I have someone on my team. Two of his best qualities: his humor and honesty. I hope you get the privilege of being his client.
Mary Alice Fields in an exceptionally caring and wonderful counselor who takes great pride in all that she does. Her compassion and understanding have helped myself and countless others through their individual struggles, and Im forever grateful for her support.
At this point Ive been doing therapy or counseling of some kind on and off for 8 years as the need arises. One thing I can say from my experiences is that its not all the same and the person who sits across from you (whether digitally or in person) matters. Jorge has been a trusted, knowledgable and empathic counselor who has helped guide me through some tougher personal relationships and times in my life with a wisdom that could only come from deep and creative understanding of psychology. Whether its something hes experienced himself or connected to the best practices of psychological study, hes always got a tool or a story to help me make sense of what Im feeling.I appreciate that hes goal oriented and tries to focus on growth in our sessions. It helpful to see goal posts that I need to reach or milestones to achieve. I personally feel like Ive made a lot of progress in the few months that i have been in his office.
Brooke Varma is great with everyone, especially people with developmental disabilities. She has such patience, compassion, and dedication. Highly recommend!
I have been receiving counseling with Jorge Wallace at Thriveworks, Duke Street location, for almost a year now. I have nothing but praise for him and my experience with this company. From the first call to request counseling, the woman who answered was extremely helpful and relatable. I personally had no idea what I would need to seek couseling for, specifically, or who I would see. I feel as though I was matched well with my therapist after only speaking with her for 35 minutes. Ive had so much personal growth this past year and I wouldnt have been able to do so without Jorge. I cant recommend him highly enough. Also, COVID-19 accommodations happened quickly and painlessly. Ive been video counseling since early March and weve had very few technical issues throughout this entire time.
Brooke Varma has helped by providing great information and insight at our meetings. Brooke is always there to listen and offer advice during times when we really needed help. We are so happy that we found Brooke Varma and dont know what we would have done without her.
Brooke Varma understands the disability community and is great at working with parents!
This is a great place to receive therapy. The location is perfect and the atmosphere calming and beautiful. Kayla is a well organized person who comes into this office with lots of past experience and a desire to work hard and help people. Give it a try and i think you will like it there.
Good therapists.
The experience for me was to get another perspective and guidance in looking at my own viewpoint. At first I was thinking what does someone have my age know? Well, I found out Kayla Barnoski was rather insightful and did help me along a path to reconcile and to become a better Me.
Rebecca is a most thorough and paced counselor who connects to others quickly and deeply while gathering the information necessary to be effective in helping others to get well and heal the places that are getting in their way. She is trauma trained and informed which offers her a perspective on situations that includes, hurts, slights, and traumas big and small. Rebecca also has a love of Dance and Movement that also inform where the body is holding on the unresolved issues which she can used directly or diagnostically. Sensitive, Caring, Insightful are words that go with her skills and abilities. I have been is several roles with her and am happy to have her as a referral source and colleague.
I cant speak highly enough of Rebecca Fry - she is compassionate, patient, attentive, and encouraging. She is celebratory of growth and honest in her feedback without ever being critical or judgmental. For someone who was fearful of entering therapy, she embraced me with warmth and understanding. She has helped me tremendously by equipping me with practical coping mechanisms that are manageable and realistic but challenge unhealthy habits when necessary. On top of her professionalism - Rebecca is so easy to relate to and never makes me feel like I have anything to be ashamed of. She cares deeply for her patients and wants to help them lead healthier lives. She is an absolute treasure and I cant recommend her highly enough!!
Rebecca is a super kind and supportive counselor. She’s also in high demand so if you get to be one of her clients be grateful!
Rebecca Fry is an amazing counselor and I would highly recommend her services to anyone looking to speak to someone. Shes down-to-earth, funny, compassionate and truly cares about her patients.
Im here to write a post about Rebecca Fry. She is wonderful and a calming presence. Shes helped me navigate life transitions and given me additional perspective and clarity. Rebecca has helped me be kinder and more accepting of not only myself but others too.
Following some work-related issues, I chose to seek some counseling, and my personal experience interacting with the services of a counselor at Thriveworks was very positive.
