Great family oriented taekwondo studio. I have gotten to know them and appreciate the attention they give the the craft. Master Yoo is always looking for what you need to get to the next level. I appreciate the directness of the instruction.

Theres no one that I trust more than the Yoos family. I was a student of Grandmaster Yoo in the 1970s, and the best thing I ever did was enroll my son when he was a kid. This place is special, and will continue to be a staple in the community for years to come.

This studio is full of hard working, honest people. As a student of the Taekwondo program, I have learned not just the martial art, but also developed my character over the years. I am so grateful for institutions like these making a difference within our community, and for helping individuals like me, improve myself both physically and mentally.

I have been at master yoo`s dojang many times and i meet him at competitions also i saw how he communicates with his athletes and how successful coach and how nice and kind to others and how great person he is if you want something for yourself or your kids what else you can expect from a coach super highly recommend

Not professional and RUDE!

My kids are not the most athletic, but they do like coming to class and they speak highly of the experience. We have not been there for as long as other families, but we like the environment, people, and the kids coming to class. We have been treated with nothing less than respect and professionalism. When I think of a business and store that adds value to the overall community it resides in, I think Grand Master Yoos School meets that definition and they have been doing it for a very long time. I would give more stars if I could.

Grandmaster Yoo and his family show true dedication and devotion to martial arts. Ive been training under Grand Master Yoo for about 3 months. 2 things stand out to me in this time. One Grand Master Yoo truly cares about his students and their well being. I strained my hamstring and I was out for just about 2 weeks. Grand Master Yoo told me when I come back to take care and dont push to hard and to continue to let my body heal. Well, my first day back they were working on kicking drills he told me to go work on my forms. Later, they were working a jumping drill, which I tried to join in on(Competitive juices were flowing), He told me to take care of my hamstring and go continue working on my forms. At the end of class I saw Mrs. Yoo, the first thing out of her mouth was how are you feeling. WOW, thank you Mrs. Yoo! 2nd thing is the students. Im working with brown and black belts(Im a white belt), everyone has gone out of there way to make sure I know they truly care about me and that Im doing each technique correctly. The environment is more about helping each other become the best he/she can be and not about who can beat who. Im new to the area, so the comradery means a lot to me. I truly made a great decision to join the Yoos Authentic Martial Arts studio.

I have been a student at this school for over 27 years. Grandmaster Yoo teaches every class and I will be studying under him as long as he is teaching.

Ive been studying hapkido under Grand Master Yoo for a year. I feel very fortunate for to have the opportunity to learn a traditional martial art under a genuine grandmaster with a lifetime of experience. Hapkido is a comprehensive, eclectic Korean self-defense art that combines throws, joint locks and submissions with punches, kicks and other strikes, and which also includes the study of weapons for more advanced students. Respect for all members of the school is stressed and practiced at all times, and students enjoy a tremendous amount of camaraderie with each other. I cant say enough good things about this school, about Grand Master Yoo or about my fellow students. If youre interested in learning a real martial art from a genuine, authentic martial artist, this is the best place in Alexandria to do it.

When i begain my training about 13 years ago and it has been a hard long road. my GrandMaster June Sung Yoo works very hard to ensure only the highs quality of his arts is the best it can be. hes is the best instucter. Only true martial arts my apply. if you have a fent heart it will be found and tested. the warrior spirit lives here. come and have fun!
