Just took our two and a half year old son here. He has curly hair and we asked that they just take a little length off and keep his curls. We even provided a picture for them of what we wanted for reference. Not only did they buzz his hair, but it is very uneven. Also my husband tried to provide constructive feedback throughout the cut. It’s honestly a horrible cut - not just for our son with curly hair but for anyone. My mother who has no training in cutting hair cut his hair significantly better during the peak of the pandemic.
Cant go wrong here. They have loyal locals so you may need to wait a few minutes. Basic cuts, fair priced, always friendly staff. Young, middle aged & older crowd. Never got a bad haircut at Bradley.
Great Service!! You can tell that they have been doing this for a long time!! Extremely professional and hard-working!! Anything and everything I asked for, I was able to get in a timely manner I got an amazing Fade by my barber Lam. Compared to other places, the price is competitive. Thank you so for a wonderful experience!
I went in for a mohawk. I didnt specify the size cause it didnt matter quite honestly. As long as the foundation was there that is all that mattered. The real issue is with mohawks, its usually just a straight center line across the head. Well, mine is slightly crooked. I still gave an 8 dollar tip, but I wont be returning for anything that requires a little precision.
Never going back here! Went in for a basic haircut, same size all across. Ended up with 2 uneven sides. I kindly asked to please fix it and although she did, she messed up one side of my beard! I did not ask to have my beard fixed. She barely cleaned my hair afterwards. Ive been to other places that charge less than $22 and provide much better service.
My father in law and I visited Don at Bradlee Barber Shop. My FIL has Parkinsons and limited movement. He was given the chair closest to the window immediately and helped to the seat. We explained that he had received a haircut from a well-meaning soul that left him with very uneven hair. Don was able to repair his hair and give him a cut that made him look and feel great. Were all grateful and will be back in 3-4 weeks on a regular basis. Thanks!
If men want a good old fashion hair cut with nice staff that can do it quickly without that salon vibe, this place has never let me down.
Good haircut the way I wanted it.
Just got a great cut today
I called today to check general availability. Ive never had a business owner be so short, condescending, and unprofessional to me. I didnt hear him say Barber Shop when he answered the phone so when I asked, Is this the Bradlee Barber Shop? he responded by loudly and aggressively responding Barber Shop. Great start. I asked if he knew about how much traffic he had in the afternoon around 2:30 to 3:00 and he informed me he doesnt have a crystal ball and that in his 60 years of hair cutting he couldnt figure out when he would be busy. I asked if he could give even a rough estimate of how busy it might be to which he replied that my guess was as good as his. Rest assured I wont be going here so thats one less person to account for when you finally decide to start planning for busy hours.
Good old fashioned Barber Shop! Been going here on and off for 18 years. Seldom wait more than 5 min. basic hair cutting for us codgers and cheapskates who dont want to pay a fortune to cut our hair.
Great place! Been around 60 years, if you want a great haircut, stop by.
Old style barbershop. More interested in giving a great haircut than on creating an artificial experience. Been going here for at least twenty years now.
Best mens haircut in Alexandria. Have been going to their shop since 1985.
I visited the Bradlee Barber Shop for the first time since March and these folks are doing a great job of building customer confidence. Customers sign up for service and wait outside, chairs are spaced and separated by barriers, they limit the number of people inside the shop, take temperatures and offer plenty of sanitizer, and clean implements after each customer is served following industry best practices. (All of the barbers proudly display their Barbasol certification having completed training and passed the online test.) Im glad I returned and appreciate the results.
Ive been going for years and always a good haircut and only $20 if you tip. (Cheaper if you are cheaper)
Fade on right side was not finished and had to go back. Asked for a light trim on top. The barber took off two inches in some parts.
Fantastic shop. Walked out of nearby competitor shop after nearly hour wait and found Bradlee Barber hidden gem. Been getting my haircut every two weeks by Lan ever since for four years now. Highly recommend!
Worst haircut I’ve ever received. I showed a picture to demonstrate how exactly I wanted the fade to look as a reference point. Then she starts cutting about three inches too high. As she finishes, she gives me a lame excuse that my hair is too difficult to cut to a 0 and recommends only doing a 1 from now on. I was in the Marines for four years and there’s a reason our haircut regulation says “0 to 3 graduated.”I got a zero every week for four years. At the end there were jagged ends in the back and the sides weren’t even. One side was about two inches higher than the other. Then I said I’m paying with a card and she tried to say “with a card you can’t tip.” Never said I wasn’t going to tip just to not be confrontational, so I said I’d like to use my card instead of cash and she said “it’s one dollar to use a card.” I said I didn’t mind about the extra fee because I had to get to work. I also wasn’t going to tip in this case. I went to another barber closer to work and got my haircut fixed for a price. If you can’t cut hair to a zero or do a fade, don’t be a barber. It’s really that simple.
Solid neighborhood barber shop in Bradlee shopping center. The prices are reasonable for the area, with the best kids hair cut prices in the area. They have enough barbers to keep the line moving. Ive never seen more than a ten minute wait. Good customer service and above average cut.
Excellent cut as always. Seemed to have good virus protection in place.
This is the only place Ive liked my hair cut in the three years Ive been in Alexandria. If youre currently going somewhere else... Take a chance
Great, fast and friendly!
Ive been going there since 1988, thats when i changed my hair style from comb over to bald down the middle. Always a clean looking cut ready for military inspections.
Great traditional barber shop. No nonsense.Great barbers. My favorite.
A no-frills place, but excellent value for money if all you need is a basic, uncomplicated mens haircut. My 6-year old son and I go together. My wife finds the result superior to a frillier place we used to go to in Old Town.
Good old fashioned haircut. All the barbers are good, but give slightly different cuts. I tried them all and then went back to the one I liked best and have been seeing him regularly for10+ years. I was very upset when the shop closed unexpectedly, but I called my barbers cell phone and he told me it would be open again soon and it was. (The previous owner had passed away and the widow didnt want to deal with the shop.) Price has gone up to a whopping $17, still the least expensive place around, and by far the best value.
I never write reviews but, I tried this place twice after thinking I got unlucky the first time. I had to explain to the lady what a fade was and then without me asking she took a huge chunk out of my facial hair. Which I then had to shave all the way off because she messed it up so bad. If I could give 0 stars I would. STAY AWAY!!!!
Ive coming here for about two years and this is the ideal choice in the area for a mans haircut. I am not picky about my style, but I do like it short, so I just tell them I want a regular haircut every time I go, and they know exactly what to do. On top of that, you get a warm shave for the back of your neck (included with haircut). I have gotten haircuts from all of the staff and theyre all good. The price is competitive at $19 (Floyds 99 is $24). Hair Cuttery is right next door, but their skill level just doesnt compare.
Be careful, my visit was horrible. the woman messed up my haircut so i didnt have any choice but to have all my hair cut to number 1. Moreover, without me asking her for anything else, she trimmed the left side of my facial hair and stopped !!!! ?She even told me it is better if I do the other half at home> Unbelievableadding insult to injury when she wanted some tip !! MY GOD
Great haircut and beard trim. Fair price.
Lan gave me another fantastic flat top cut today. She takes the time to do an excellent job and at a great price. If you need a haircut in Alexandria, go to Bradley Barber Shop.
Very basic no frills haircut. 18$ to not even get what you ask for. Now have to go to another barber to fix what they messed up. Not coming here again.
MrWay is the best barber out there! Amazing with our son. Been going here for years
Awful. Never come here. I asked for a fade. Three at the bottom. Four at the top. Came out with basically a zero at bottom, maybe a 2 at the top.
Ive been getting the same simple haircut for 10+ years. For the first time a barber has managed get it wrong. I asked for my hair to be slightly long in the front. About 2/3rds the way through going to town with the shaved, the barber realizes she cut the one part I asked to be longer. First and last time.
Don, Mike and Day are top notch barbers. The shop briefly closed in Jan/Feb time frame, but is back open. Like any barber shop - you need to find a barber whom you like.
Henry was welcoming and very competent.
I found the new place for my haircut. This is definitely an old school location and it shows. But most importantly, I got the haircut I was looking for, a military-style, high and tight but still hair on the top of my head. It is dirty like others have said with hair on the floor but it may be due to the number of customers and lack of time to maintain cleanliness. A little Vietnamese woman cut my hair and although she could hardly see above my head, she did a fantastic job. The barbershop is located in the breazeway by Wells Fargo in the far corner of the Bradlee Shopping Center. Plus, haircuts are cheap for todays standards. I have paid $30 elsewhere for a s****y cut, $15 for a great cut at this location. Im willing to bet youll be satisfied with the haircut; seating is limited, barbershop is small...but DEFINITELY worth the wait.
I’ve been going here for years, always go to the same barber (her name is Lan). No frills but a good basic cut).
Usually a wait of about 10 minutes. It does good business, has a special chair for be boys. Good price, good harcuts. The barbers are pretty interesting to talk with. I got a shave here once..not recommended unless they sharpened the straight razor. Got razorburn.
They butchered my hair. (Yes, first world problem, and it will grow back eventually but I was very specific about what I asked for and my wishes were blatantly ignored)Normally I love coming here. Its usually the perfect place for a quick trim. However, today when I asked for 1/4 inch to be taken off (straight cut across the bottom, no layers, super simple usually not a problem) and showed the person cutting my hair both with my fingers and on my hair itself how much I wanted taken off but in the end I lost closer to 2 1/2 inches, which is a huge loss for my hair. And an incredibly upsetting situation, as anyone with long hair who have had it unexpectedly shorn can attest to. I used to love it here, but I have a one strike youre out policy with my hair: it just takes too long to grow back when people get wild and crazy and take off way more than I ask.
My favorite barbers in the region. Recommend going Mon-Fri. Not a lot of room to wait, but plenty of parking.
Does all the good stuff at a reasonable price. Quick service and they deal with the details
This is an amazing barbershop!!! Very cheap and extremely good!! They are more than deserve to be cald a barbershop!!💪And that is after being in the best CA has to offer.. !
Horrible! Not only did the woman cut my ear open with the clippers when she totally missed my sideburns, but the rest of the haircut turned out equally as bad. Oh, and they charge you $1 to pay with a card AND you cannot leave a tip on it (yes, I was still going to give that woman a few bucks even though I left with a bleeding ear.) Will NEVER return.
No scalp massages or hot towels, here. This is a no-frills, neighborhood barbershop where you get a great haircut for a great price.
Worst haircut Ive ever had just came from here. Ive gotten not so great fades in the past and never complain but the haircut Ive received today was the worst haircut Ive ever received. It was uneven, very high, and with almost zero fade. Its bad enough I embrassed to go into work tommrow.Ive had a few decent barbers in here before but the quality is inconsistent and the barbers are not friendly.
Great shop for a standard haircut. Been going since 1992.
I asked for a 6 on the top and a 2 on the sides and I think the barber gave me a 4 on top and 1 on the sides. In the front I had it like I wanted it but the barber cut it off and now I look stupid.
Ive just cut my top knot here. Great barber, great services, great old school atmosphere. Unfortunately, Im alien here and Im not good enough in english so I can talk many things with the barber.
No frills, nothing fancy, no nonsense kind of bare bones barbershop (not a hair salon) for a basic haircut.
Great haircut and take time nice job.
Good old school barbershop
Decent haircuts and not usually a long wait.
Good cut and fair price.
Ive gone there twice now and both times Ive gotten mediocre cuts. Certainly not bad but not the best either.
My grandson loved it
Great service.
Get yourself a good haircut.
The lady who cut my hair cut it significantly shorter than I asked, left my face covered with cut hair (and not just a little bit either), and used either dull tools or too much force because all of the edge work left my skin angry and torn up. Chose to come here rather than the Hair Cuttery. I regret that decision.
Love this place!! Used to be go-to place for haircuts!
Worst haircut ever. I have a simple military haircut, its very difficult to mess up (at least this bad). The lady clearly was rushing through, taking absolutely no pride in her work. Not only was the process of getting the haircut painful and unpleasant, but I was left with uneven chop marks on the side of my head and in the back. I was cringing as she hacked away with the straight razor, clearly trying to finish as fast as possible to get on to the next cut. Similarly, her area, and the most of the barber shop is full of hair. I guess if someone wont take the time to clean up their area throughout the day, you cant expect to them to take time on your haircut. Its simply appalling to get that level of attention and service for $16. It may be that I had the only bad barber in the place, but I would not be willing to go back and find out, because there is clearly no quality control in the hiring process.
Great barber shop - if you want sterile, cookie cutter, IKEA esque experience then go to Super Cuts ... If you insist on taking your screaming kid here and then have to dictate every little clip and chop then do us all a favor and do the dang haircut yourself at home.
Excellent haircut - best in Shirlington area!
Old fashioned Barber shop.
Been going to this baber since I was a kid. Gets no better then an old fashion baber shop.
Ask for Lan
In and out fast.
Don does a great job on men.
Great place...and... People
Don is the BEST!
Unfortunately this business has closed permanently. I showed up for my regular haircut and the place was shuddered and emptied out.
Tommy is the best
Provides the basic at a reasonable cost
Great service and cut!
Ive been getting my hair cut here for 24 years (Im 24) and if I can avoid it I never go anywhere else!
Very nice
Reopening tomorrow Friday 1/15/16! Same barbers!
