I can not recommend this shop. I took my 99 4Runner there after experiencing what I believed to be a transmission issue; I told them I suspected the transmission. If I was correct, I was prepared to pay for the diagnostic and sell the car as it was not worth investing in a transmission repair due to the age and condition. They said good news, its not the transmission and suggested it was a bad Throttle Position Sensor and a few other things (they cleaned the throttle body, replaced the PCV and some vacuum hoses). After over a month at the shop, I picked up the car and the problem was exactly the same. I wanted to get a second opinion so I took it the Toyota dealership and paid $150 for a diagnostic and they quickly diagnosed it as a bad transmission that needed to be replaced/rebuilt. I called TIs several times and all the manager did was argue that any mechanic would have replaced the parts he did and he had to start with small things before replacing the big things and its better than before (it was not better than before, but even if it was better I was told that it was fixed). I told him, you can diagnose a transmission problem without replacing the transmission but I dont think this made sense to him. They offered to take another look at it but why would I bring it back when they had over a month and couldnt properly diagnose it. So I paid $900 for essentially a tune-up on a car that I had to sell for $1500. I felt like I was very patient with them and I dont believe they were honest or really tried to seek a resolution with me when I called about my my dissatisfaction. They seem to have other good ratings so maybe their body work is better than their engine work.

Tis shop did great work repairing damage to my passenger side doors. The shop doesnt inspire confidence when you first walk in... it looks a bit rundown. But dont let that put you off. The people are honest and do great work. They quoted me 30% cheaper than one of the body shops in Old Town Alexandria, and they did a perfect job with great color matching. I used the cash I saved to have them give the car a full detail in addition to the repair. Got my car back looking like it was fresh from the dealership!

The guys at TIs helped put a wheel bearing on my car for a 800 mile road trip back home. Very fast and helpful for last minute call to the shop.

The owner didnt seem honest. Gave me a high quote when I actually repaired my car 600 dollar cheaper in another shop. This shop seemed to have an agreement with Georgetown Auto Service and if you go there first but do not have a mechanic problem, they will send you here. Recommend to ask for a quote from another shop.
