Jim was great! He was really responsive to messages, his pricing was extremely fair (cheaper than I anticipated for our piano that was tuned halfway between notes). He was professional, timely, explained things well, and now our piano sounds a lot better!P.S. For those wondering about how he handles Covid- he did come in a mask and with Clorox wipes to clean things off when he was done to try to keep everyone safe. Overall a great experience.

It turned out that my antiquated piano was not redeemable, and he was not able to help her. But he was so pleasant to work with, and I appreciated his straightforwardness regarding the issues we had. Even my dogs liked him, didnt bark once when he came in. And that never happens! Great guy, good pricing, if we get a viable piano we will have him service it. Referring Jim to my friends!

I contacted Jim Ahrend via web-form, as is his stated preference. Within a few hours, I had a reply and we had a date.Now, I had completely forgotten in the chaos of the week, but Jim hadnt. Thankfully my husband was home that morning. He arrived on time, greeted my husband and made friends with my dog, and when he left, my piano sounded like a completely different beast - itd been moved and banged around and not loved as well as it should have been for awhile, apparently.The tuning itself was less expensive than I was anticipating, and Im thrilled with the result.

We picked a time that fit his schedule (4:30 pm) via text (his preferred method of communication). My wife rushed home from her teaching position leaving two of our children at school so she wouldnt be late. Jim never showed up, and when I called him at 6 pm, he claimed that my texts had just come through. Really? If text messaging is so unreliable he might want to program a calendar feature into his website. At the very least he should have followed up with me especially since we had already exchanged numerous texts attempting to find a time that worked for him. When we spoke that night and I told him that my wife had been waiting for him for 1 1/2 hours and finally had to leave to pick up our kids (at 6 pm) all he could say was Sorry and Would you like to reschedule? Seriously??? Its almost like having a horrible experience at a restaurant and the owner telling you to come back next time because it will be better. Who runs a business like this? I would not recommend his services to anyone!

Jim has been a big help in learning about pianos and tuning. We really appreciate his knowledge and understanding of the mechanics of the art of tuning.
