Rudy answered my phone call right away and set up a time to come check out the leak in my sprinkler system. He called when he was on the way to my house and arrived promptly. He was very courteous and knowledgeable. He is also very neat while working and cleaned up the muddy mess that was caused by the leaking pipe. He charges a fair price for his labor and parts.I will definitely recommend his business to other people I know in the future.
Scheduled replacement of sprinkler timer with Discount Sprinklers. Repairman was over an hour late. Hugo (Repairman) was very nice and worked efficiently. When he started preparing my bill, I told him the man (I assume was Rudy) told me that he said the bill would be $180. but he would give me a break and it would be $160 something. Hugo brought the invoice and the total was 225.75. He called Rudy and then told me i was given a break on the labor from $80 to $60. My bill would still not be around $160. I should have requested a written estimate and hopefully they can work on their schedule to be a little more accurate.
Rudy (the boss) came to my home to give a free estimate. I only needed my drip system extended to some new plants I had just planted (5) and also to change the heads on all the drip tips to the umbrella one to which he said would only cost $1.75 a piece. He stated for the estimate that they charge $85.00 an hour, and that it shouldnt be over $200.00, $250.00. I said I couldnt go over $250.00. I told him I had to work the day they were going to come out to fix the sprinklers and he said he could leave the bill on the outside table. Well, I ended up working from home that day. The guy that came out to do the work was very nice and fast and professional. From the time he started to the time he stopped was 30 minutes. He gave me a bill for a little over $100.00. He looked at it and said, Oh, wait, I gave you the wrong bill. He goes back to his truck and brings me a bill for $249.75 (a quarter away from my stated limit)!! I asked why it was so much when it took him only 30 minutes and he said I would have to call the boss and ask him. (Im sure that this would have been the bill I would have been given if I hadnt worked from home that day and was able time the worker.)When I called Rudy (the boss) I asked him why the bill was so high when its only $85.00 an hour and it took the guy only 30 minutes and minimal supplies to do the job? He said well there were 2 people that came out. One to do the estimate and one the work. I said it was supposed to be a free estimate. Then he stated that he had to give a higher quote to make sure that the work didnt go over that quote and that he did adjust the bill to $198.51! I said for 30 minutes work? He said, What if we were out there longer, would you have paid? I told him of course I would have because that would be the time that you worked. He said well, thats just the way it is. That is the bill. This is not a DISCOUNT sprinkler company, this is a RIP YOU OFF company! BEWARE!!
Prompt and efficient service with fair prices. Will definitely be using Discount Sprinklers again!
