The owner is expedient, friendly, courteous and professional. Its well priced and an amazing treat to get a below the belt waxing. No more clumsily shaving ever again, especially with my incomplete spinal cord injury. Shes the best and I highly recommend this business!

I got a Brazilian wax. I have a high pain tolerance and Ive been getting waxed for over a decade but this was, by far, the most painful experience I have had. I actually said those exact words twice during but the waxer just kept going and talking like I didn’t say anything. Didnt even acknowledge my comment. Its been an hour since shes finished and I still feel tender, which has never happened before.I just need whoever goes here to know that a wax does not need to be anywhere near as painful as her waxes are. Its as if she has never gotten a wax herself. Her technique is also off because I still have splotches of hair and it seems like some hair broke at my skin line instead of being taken from the root (basically I paid someone to give me ingrowns). Im told that its all in the wrist and she makes large sweeping arm motions which definitely makes the pain worse. Even just applying momentary pressure at the freshly waxed area would help with the pain but she doesn’t do that either.Absolutely hated it. Will never go back.****EDIT (in response to your reply):What is this? Are you trying to act like I wasnt a customer??Okay how about this--Youre from Arizona. You moved here to NM when you were still in high school with your family. You have one brother. You got married 5 years ago. It was a big wedding ~200 people. You had twins (girls) a year ago which is why you recently cut back your hours.I was definitely a customer sis.Im switching to a 1 star instead of 2 because its upsetting that you are patrolling your google ratings and try to discredit peoples reviews (??) rather than just provide a better service.So is someone telling you that your technique is the most painful waxing experience they have had normal for you? I was disappointed with the service but I used Groupon which I was very excited for. I’m not sure if it’s because I did not pay the full price that the service wasn’t the best. For starters I was there 10 minutes before my appointment because I was told if I’m more than 5 mins late I would have to reschedule and I was not addressed until 15 mins into my appointment. Second, being an experience customer with wax, I thought her technique was rough, her form wasn’t the best. Third she wasn’t very customer oriented I wouldn’t say she was rude, but there was an attitude on the phone when I made the appointment and when I walked into the store. In the end the worst part for me was that she did not show me the end result, she simply stepped out and I was upset because who doesn’t show their client the end result ??? I was not pleased and I just thought I should give someone else a heads up about this place.

Editing my review after trying three other waxing salons in Albuquerque. This one is by far the best quality and price. Minimal breakage, relatively painless, clean & professional. Also about $10 cheaper than other salons.

Horrific experience start to finish. The owner is an extremely rude and aggressive in personality and also in her waxing technique. I have been getting waxed for years at the European Wax Center and they are amazing! But unfortunately they were closed so I decided to try this out. The woman here is extremely rough and rude. She does not use high quality products nor does she follow proper waxing procedures. I was left bruised in multiple spots. DO NOT GO HERE! She would not honor a refund or even a partial refund for this botch job. Spare yourself the pain and unpleasant experience of this woman and her salon.

It was my first time getting a Brazilian wax. The woman that attended me was extremely rude. Did not make me feel At ease or relaxed. She was extremely rough! It was by far painful by the way she was tugging off the strips. I thought she would use hard wax for such a delicate/sensitive spot, she actually used soft wax! After the procedure she didn’t put anything on to soothe or calm my skin. Although she witnessed me trembling completely because my body went in to shock from the pain, she never stopped or asked if I needed a break or if I was okay. It was honestly, by far the worst experience I’ve ever had! I will NEVER go back! I should have went with my gut instinct and gone to a 5 star place! And last but not least I told her the reason I was going there in the first place was because I was tired of razor burn or razor bumps. After she had completed the procedure then she tells me I’m going to get bumps all over, she should have said that from the Gecko when I explained my reason for Waxing. Again, NEVER will I go back! Sadly I can’t rate a 0!

I have only come here for my Brazilian waxing, but their services are extensive with different waxing options, and anything else you would find in a salon. The girls are so sweet, and its really easy to make an appointment on their website. I love this little place and I wouldnt trust anyone else to take care of me!

Not even one star is what my review.I was so excited to buy Groupon for a waxing procedure. I even bragged about it to friends. I tried to call and schedule an appointment but I did not get an answer. (Cell phone) I left a voicemail and asked her to give me a call back I was trying to see how soon she could make an appointment for me. I did not get a return call. I tried to schedule online but I did not get a confirmation. So 2 days later, I looked at my Groupon to see how long it would be valid for but it showed it was voided. I contacted the store and was informed I was a “no call no show.” The owner was not going to honor the Groupon she insisted several times that a text message was sent. I kept telling her I did not get any notification or else I would’ve been there. If she had time to “void” a Groupon she could’ve called me to see if I was still coming since we never touched base. The appointment was at 2:15 and she voided the Groupon at 2:33. (I have documentation) I was not going to argue back with her. So I asked her one more time if she would honor the Groupon. She said flat out, “no! that I can contact Groupon for a refund.” Which I will try to do. It’s just ridiculous with everything that’s going on in the world the last thing you want to be doing is fighting about money because the business doesn’t wanna accommodate a client. It was a miscommunication.I was bringing her business. I am a business owner too. This is the time that we should support our local businesses in Albuquerque. Word of mouth is the best advertising than Groupon. All I would like now is to let other customers to be wary if you choose to be challenged with getting services done. Especially when they’ve already been paid for. This owner does not honor her obligations. Nor does she understand or care of the value the potential customer. Now I need to see if Groupon will return the funds. My resolution to this was to give her the opportunity to take back what she had done so angry. She declined to do the right thing.

I love this place! She is a wonderful esthetician. Always quick, clean, and professional. Her waxes have been the quickest and least painful I have ever experienced.

I had been going there for awhile. I mostly just went there for there package deal. I should of stop going there awhile back when the lady who was helping me started yelling at another lady in another room, who had a client with her also. Then she starts to get mad at me because I didnt go there as often as I should. I thought it was rude and unprofessional but figure she was just having a bad day. I finally had it when I made an appointment and couldnt make it. So I called them about 4 times and left a message to let them know I couldnt make it and to reschedule. No call back, so I went on the website to reschedule. When I got there they told me that I lost one of my vouchers because I didnt show up. I explained to them what happened and that I did in fact called and left messages. Her response was well I have to wait till we get the phone back to see if you did leave a message. I asked well wheres the phone? She said someone else has it. How do people call this business to reschedule, make appointments, let you know there running late if you dont have the phone at your business??? Do you not check the messages at all?I didnt say anything she showed me to the room to get ready and as Im waiting for her to come in she decides to take a personal phone call and talk for 15 minutes, she finally get off and waits longer to finally do her job. No call back about the voucher. They probably lost the phone, who knows. No one should treat there customers like that. As I look at the reviews it looks like it happens quite often.

Brazilian Beauty Wax is a disreputable business. I bought a Brazilian waxing package (3 waxings) when the business was located at Uptown. They did not inform me at any moment that the package had an expiration date. The first issue was that they moved locations and refused to reimburse me even though I explained that their new location was very inconvenient for me (I had to drive 45 minutes to get there). I went for my first two waxings and each time was worried about the hygiene of the place. The whole place looked dirty, and was messy. The service was also awful. The beautician was borderline rude and sloppy. Then I went for my last waxing appointment and was informed that the package had expired 2 days previous. They would not honor my last session, nor discount a new single session. Thus, I lost 25.00 dollars (they did offer me a whole new package of sessions). They never sent me an email informing me that the package was about to expire 2 days before my reservation. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

The reason I chose to go to this boutique was because Id never gotten a wax, came across a Groupon and thought why not?When I first scheduled the person I talked to said theyd have to call me back when they got to the shop. Thought that was weird. Finally when she called the call just was off. On appt day I was running late and tried calling several times before having to leave a message. When rescheduling the woman I spoke to was very rude probably because of the reschedule but hey life happens? On the day of I go in and the vibe was just off almost as if because I paid with a Groupon my money wasnt good enough? Once laying down right before waxing she says its not recommended pregnant woman get waxed it hurts more but had no problem putting on wax as she informs me? When leaving she explains a deal for a cheaper wax next time. I agreed and bought it. 4 weeks after I had my baby so due to healing hadnt went to claim my wax. I personally wasnt wowed by the wax and the pain wasnt in my interest so I contact asking to transfer my wax to a friend. The answer is no because they can transfer although theyve taken my money out of my account with no problem. I then ask for a refund then because wax just isnt for me the answer also no. Due to policy your little policy and deal is a scam . You need to ad refunds to your policy this isnt right that money is taken out before a service is even preformed. Ill never recommend this boutique to anyone!

Very disappointed in how I was treated after faithfully patronizing this business for a couple of years. I was informed my 3 prepaid services were expired. This was **not** made clear at the time of purchase. Ive purchased many prepaids with no problem. Until today.They were unwilling to be flexible despite my being out of town for a month. If I wanted service, she informed me, Id have to pay an additional $27 on top of the $23 I already paid. I explained Id never had a problem using prepaids with Margie, the owner. Im sorry, she told me, thats the policy. So they got to keep my $66 (3 pre paids) and lost a loyal customer.It never pays to nickel and dime your customers. If youre a business owner, dont be opportunistic at the expense of customer relations. Rather, be flexible and understanding and youll have loyal patrons and great reviews.
